I hate that we make the choice for Wyll and there isn’t a ‘stay silent let Wyll speak choice’ like everyone else
Cuz Wyll literally doesn't know what to do
I was rather surprised there wasn't a "Wait! take me in his place" option
Its because its possible to cheat the contract and save his father and break Wyll's contract
this was actually brought up in playtesting, I think they didn't have enough time to add content for that
@@richardshiflett5181makes sense but he should be the one to say that
It's crazy how choosing this option in playthroughs where his father's alive actually gets a "x disapproved" like i'm sorry, you want me to tell him to sell his soul eternally in the service of an archdevil? What the fuck?
Imagine romancing wyll then convincing him to sell his soul. That's rotten.
Mizora lied at the end. She said Wyll would only hunt "the wickedest prey", yet she invoked the "heartless" part of the clause against Karlach, a sweet and morally upright person enslaved against her will.
I may be wrong but my first thought is that Mizora may have found a loop hole in the contract as I believe karlachs heart was replaced by the infernal engine allowing her to be classified as heartless but that was just my initial thought and may be wrong
@@connorwright2787 That was indeed what happened, it's why he was roped into hunting the tiefling Karlach instead of what he believed to be a devil. The contract was made with "heartless" as a metaphor, but of course, you should always make careful wording with a devil because they will exploit every loophole.
@@connorwright2787 While you're not wrong, Mizora still lied. She claims he'll only go after wicked prey, but who's to say she won't send him after an innocent victim with that loophole again? Devils in Dnd are lawful EVIL.
karlach doesn't have a heart, it's replaced by an infernal engine.
the clause specifically holds that he must hunt the heartless, she didn't specify what type of heart that was.
@@jakedge3 She's effectively a Lawyer, in fact I as instantly left thinking I could picture her in a business suit wearing glasses we often see lawyers portrayed in television :D .
Someone even joked; you'd need your OWN lawyer if dealing with devils :).
In my playthrough I went to the foundry first and suddenly got a message "the Iron Throne has exploded", and I went "wtf is an Iron Throne". Googled it and found out there was a whole area I'd accidentally skipped but didn't feel like reloading a save. Exploded the foundry, went to camp thinking I'd screwed ip Wyll's quest, and suddenly Mizora went "I'll stick to my end of the deal" and just summoned Ravengard. Easiest way to resolve that quest I guess 😂
This quest was really weird for me. He hadn't died yet in mine and she offered to tell us where he was for his soul, or doom him to die by rejecting it but be freed from the pact. I made Wyll do the latter then went to the prison and freed him anyways - remove curse and dimension door worked a treat. But then all the subsequent dialog seemed to assume Wyll had instead renewed his pact. One of those unpolished act 3 bugs I suppose.
On or two lines sound like that but it works out later.
Half a year later and there are still those two lines of text that don't fit the script when you release him and break the contract.
I remember my first time I convinced wyll to sever his pact but saved his dad anyway-even if I had to savescum for perfect RNG to keep the duke alive because mizora decided to be a dick with those spiders
Damn, ciri's outfit is perfect for selunite shadowheart 😮
Shouldn't have resurrected Ulder. He'll be alright with Helm in heavens.
Just let him stay dead, he should be alright in the heavens.
like the ciri outfit
i fucked totally up this quest.
i did not want to bargain with gortash and was first entering lower BG finding help or stuff to kill the steelwatch with the bomb. done everything i could there what was possible and after i killed the steelwatch, everything on the bridge was hostile (but not in BG) so i killed gortash and Ravengard. saved ravengard from the dead and after walking in BG Florrick intervine us and said mizora said to her ravengard is dead and the game saw him now as dead instead of saved him like it was.
i always wish they made the summoning of the contract sisters more cinematic, like whispered chanting and moving camera angles
Focus on the joy. That’s what makes me smile all the time.
She resurrected the parasite too?!
Lol yeah
Probably xDD
I heard the duke is crucial in order to get best ending, its kinda said because i talk to mizora before, she doesn't mention anything and i accidentally go to iron throne and find out the duke is dead
I should never let Wyll break his pact
On my first playthrough I'm P sure Mizora fucking assasinated Wyll's dad for like no reason
This is normal for devils
I went to the iron throne first on accident somehow and the duke was dead on arrival for some reason
Yes, that happened to me too, for some reason the game decides to force the player to take part in Mizora's quest.
Once you enter Lover City you must take one rest otherwise she won't appear and Duke will be dead.
It's very stupid that key story elements are closed with a script, this is most visible in act 3
* long rest + talk to Mizora in front of the entrance to Lover City
I really hate mizora
I adore her, she's not only the voice of Lohse from DOS2, she's evil and she knows it. She doesn't try to hide anything. She's just a skeevy lawyer who abuses the terms and conditions.
@@Polomance862 I still want to run my trident through her smug face.
She made it a pain to save the Duke if you break Wylls' contact. She really is a bitch.
i feel like you chose the worse option without a second thought fr fr
How did the Duke die here?
I mean I killed Gortash first and knocked down the Duke at the ceremony, afterward I went to check he was gone, then Mizora offered for help xD
@@Northalix the truth about the emperor will be found out by a quest from the duke
The duke can be killed in two known ways.
#1. You kill him and Gortash upon their introduction scene in Wyrm's Hold.
#2. You fail to save him in the Iron Throne before inducting this contract scene.
@@Polomance862 Funnily enough there's a 3rd way he can die, if you DON'T get the Mizora scene before going to iron Throne when you go there you can find him already dead in his cell.
@@Polomance862 idk about that one, I didnt fight Gortash and in the Iron Throne there was only duke's coprse, idk when he died lol, I was like : wtf why is his corpse here, I didn't kill him.
Yeah this happned in my play through I killed Orin then did the Iron Throne without speaking with Mizora. For me this is stupid and lazy writing if he is already dead why would he sell his soul to bring him back? I chose to break the pact and leave him dead but the reaction from the companions was just so silly like Wyll did something wrong lol. Easily the worst cut scene/content in the game. Act 1 & 2 good Act 3 boaring and poor
Honestly trading any number of mortal lives for your eternal soul is a dogshit terrible deal.
Cheat much? Lol that 49 roll with a plus 30 bonus and advantage. Tsk tsk. lol
who fucking cares. it's a single player game and people like to see the different routes and dialogue choices you can choose from.
I played first playthru normal, then I don't want to fail and keep replaying the same thing until I have a success...
@@cafs99 clearly you didn’t grasp the obvious. It was a joke.
@@Northalix yea I was just joking.
If you roll a nat 20 then it’s an automatic success anyways (not that it always means victory, but rewards are always dealt out)
