Anyone else on an Alice in Chains binge? Its hard to stop.
on such a binge tonight
Alice in Chains has always been something that you can't really put a label on. Sure...we call it grunge to put our minds at ease. I personally cant put a finger on what I like about AIC, but I'm pretty sure that my understanding of music would be quite empty without it.
Right now!

Same!
What's most unique about Layne is how he can look angelic and devilish at the same time. He was beautiful.
I've never heard his look described as angelic and devilish before, but now that you say it, I definitely see that 😍💔😭
Hot!!!
@@starlightempress16 like Christ
@@starlightempress16 Lucifer looks angelic?
@@starlightempress16 Well, first off, there is no Lucifer. However, if there were, he wouldn't look angelic in the least. I don't know why'd you compare Lucifer (apparently looking angelic and devilish) to Layne Staley. Now , one could compare Layne to Christ in "Man in the Box", but perhaps I'm just saying that cos of his long hair, and the fact that he mentions Jesus Christ in the chorus. But strictly in a pure and good angelic Christ. No notes if devilish Lucifer. Well, that's my opinion. But, RIP Layne.
Seeing Layne sitting on the stairway to heaven petting a dog almost brought me to tears.
I'm pretty sure this is how it goes now somewhere there
Can't be in another way😌
That's Jerry's dog Sunshine. The three legged dog that got that album unofficially titled "Tripod."
@@hollyw9566 none of the three legged dogs pictured or filmed in relation to that album were jerry's dogs, it's a common myth tho.
@@hollyw9566no way!
It's a masonic staircase.
For some reason I think AiC is the darkest band ever. Like, sure, thousands of bands put all of their energy behind being as dark as humanly possible but it's like AiC didn't even have to try. Even when they write something semi uplifting there's still this undercurrent of soul crushing despair
I do agree
Probably because they were all basically strung out out on H throughout their entire existence.
It’s amazing they were able to function & stayed together as long as they did.
I will certainly agree they are one of the darkest. I'm thinking top 5. There's alot of bands that could be considered dark, especially when you get into death metal and black metal. However, I'd argue the darkness that comes from AIC is because of the human condition. No satanic fireworks, just the virus that is being a human in this world.
@@S0RELOSER actually only Layne and Mikey Starr were on H. They both had periods of sobriety.
@@HildeAzul and Mike was a flash in the pan let's be honest

Totally beautiful! Jerry is the only reason I was able to listen to AIC after Layne died.
The guitar work on this song is simply one of the best ever... no shredding, just many layers of sounds that form an amazing sound landscape

Jerry is king
Fun fact. Jerry made up the solo in the studio and recorded it in one take.
@@mr.mustang656he’s trilling, not shredding
Well said brother
Jerry's ability as a guitarist and a song writer are among the strongest of that era
That ability has never wavered. Even now Rainier Fog is amazing. You only have to listen to All I Am.
Grew up in the 90's and was more of a fan of the other bands of that era (e.g., Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam), BUT.... always knew AIC had the best guitarist, hands down. Jerry's an incredible guitarist, songwriter and vocalist. The guy can do it all.
Corgan can shred too
Keenan Walsh of all time

Alice in Chains is the kind of band I wish I could discover again. To experience that sensation again...
I’m going through this right now.. can’t even describe the feeling. Can’t stop listening to them and thinking about Layne
Yeah, i remember when first got dirt when released. First track on that vinyl: them bones.
Since i was a hardcore sabbath fan since childhood i was blown away with their sound
Christmas 1994 for me. No story to it but I remember that day better than I remember the person I was back then.
Not just Alice, there are so many I would love to hear again for the first time 😭😭
@@pliskenx51mm83 Soundgarden comes to mind :) But yeah, I agree, so many bands I'd love to be able to experience for the first time.
Cantrell and Staley were simply unmatched as a harmony duo in grunge.
"Anyone else on a Alice in Chains binge? It's hard to stop."
Yes. I've just gotten into them and have been listening nonstop for 2 months. They are amazing. Peak grunge.
Me.
Me too!!!
I’ve been on one for 25 years, LOL
I've been on a binge that has lasted about the last 4 years!! I don't see it going anywhere.❤
Tool is great too
I love how the intro and verses scream DOOM DARKNESS DEATH but when the chorus starts it's like seeing a beam of light in a cave, a sliver of hope and joy.
What a beautiful song. Seriously.
I was thinking the same! The whole AIC discography makes me feel that way.
Dane Gonzales, yeah, but it is a false light in the true sense..just like the light of Lucifer, as in the sun..

Aic was was favorite of all the grunge bands, Layne”s voice is so haunting and you can feel in every song, about his addiction his pain. In my book, one of the greatest singers ever. If you haven’t checked it out. Watch Aic live at the Moore, his vocals are so powerful, before his heroin addiction took hold of him.
Again and again and again and again (I think y'all get it)
One of the most underrated albums in all of metal/rock/grunge.
True! Tripod is amazing! Cheers 🍻🍻
It's so fucking awesome loved it since I bought the cd the day it was released and still got the cd,Layne we get u
Not underrated by me I preferred this to pearl jam and soundgarden and nirvana actually.
was good but coming after facelift and dirt the bar was set unbelieveably high
@@AnnaLVajda I prefer AIC and Soundgarden. Nirvana and PJ are great, but they just don't do it for me, so to speak.
JERRY; "I love this dog," Cantrell smiles absently, pointing to the photo of that three-legged dog, which will come out on the lid of the video box. "His name is Sunshine, Sunny," he explains. "She's in our first video. He lost her paw chasing after a fucking car. Then she managed, went home, recovered, and then went back to chasing other cars and got fit again. She is just a damn fighter dog.I love it. "
I think it's amazing when a person or animal over comes a tragedy that has happened to them in their lives. They don't give up. Shows a lot of strength. By the way, I think I dreamed about this dog and her barking. Lol!
I like how the gender of the dog changes like 6 times
I know that dog's meant to make all the thing look creepy, but being an animal lover myself and owning a rescued dog (even if mine has all her limbs), I actually like the fact that they didn't use a "perfect looking" dog, but instead, used one which looks like the majority of them out there... ❤❤❤❤

Layne actually looks pretty healthy here. We love Layne. Wish he'd had made it. He was a beautiful human being.
don't know that I'd go that far. he looked half awake and was clearly missing all his teeth, hiding track marks, etc
He was definitely not well around this time. In a music video you can expect them to look at their best but it doesn't paint the true picture.

Cantrell and Staley are the greatest 1-2 punch vocalists of all time, and both can easily hold their own by themselves as well. My favorite band ever
Until a week ago I had only heard AIC's popular songs and didn't give them much recognition, but after learning about what happened to Layne and Mike, and realizing how gifted Layne was with his voice and ability to channel pure emotion into his music, I can't stop. Also Jerry's writing and ability to align his guitar playing and vocals to Layne's abstract singing. I think Alice in Chains is becoming one of my favorite bands of all time.
Same here !! I discovered Would? and No Excuses last year on Spotify but didn’t listen any further… A month ago I listened to Man In The Box and Nutshell “accidentally” and then I watched some documentaries about the band and Laynes death and now I’m HOOKED 🤪
I love how Jerry does most of the singing. I like his voice. Really goes great with Layne's.

Layne looks like a dragon given human form. There’s always an almost supernatural or spiritual element to Alice In Chains, to me, that has made it always resonate with me.
Same here even tho nirvana and Alice In Chains came from the same place Alice In Chains just seems so much bigger and mature kinda like a political figure who knows what they’re doing
Well said. They have always latched onto something in my soul and still do all these decades later.
I love the way Layne rolls his eyes backwards in this video. Especially in the 3rd verse.

90's music videos have this very 90's atmosphere which I miss so much. Many colors, many different things that don't make sense and the camera filming from every angle possible. I just love this type of music videos more than anything else.

How the hell did AIC have SO MANY great and loved tracks? Musical jackpot!

My daughter's favorite. Mine's Jar of Flies... and Mad Season...
It’s such a sad album though, especially when you know the extremely dark road Layne took after 1995.
I like how Layne takes back stage but still stands paramount in this song. Jerry I love you. You and Layne were a packaged deal.
Great fucking song. Jerry Cantrell comes up with some truly vicious riffs reminiscent of Black Sabbath.
Well yeah. Most of these Seattle bands are heavily influenced by sabbath.
Sound garden is basically a sabbath cover band
@@morelife6508 Tad is also sick
Chills one of the all time great bands, I’m 72,
I saw my 24 yr old son the other day. He is honestly resembling Layne in so many ways. The thick blonde hair, eye brows, similar smile etc. But mostly, the reflection is on the inside, and I am terrified. He's not tormented by those exact demons, but something is there I can't reach.
If you're a prayer warrior, you can call him Adam.
I never really paid attention to this song but the more I hear it the more I see how absolutely fucking brilliant and awesome it is.
their stuff was always background music to me until I recently heard Angry Chair on the radio and wow, it really grabbed me and now Im reevaluating their music.
Layne so cool rolling his eyes up inside his head like that. Can't believe he's gone.
Honestly thought it was a little cringe lol, love the song tho
The entire self-titled album has doom metal written all over it. So dark, heavy, brooding and morose. In fact AiC is much more comparable to Saint Vitus and Black Sabbath than their Seattle peers.
Couldn't agree more. Get Born Again, Died and from the newer stuff A Looking In View, Acid Bubble, Private Hell, Hollow, Lab Monkey, Phantom Limb. More doom metal oriented songs from Cantrell's solo career: Spiderbite, Pig Charmer, Dying Inside (there's also a well known Saint Vitus song with the same title) and Chemical Tribe.
Yea, man. They're cool. AiC influence is obvious in most of their tunes. I'm a big fan of Type O and Life of Agony as well. So I found them naturally. Also, former Type O guitarist/backing vox Kenny Hickey formed another band called Seventh Void and it sounds more like Soundgarden. Mainly because of Kenny's Chris Cornell-esque high pitched vocals.
Alice in Chains is alot darker than most hard rock bands from that time indeed... I wouldn't call it doom metal tho, it's just like you said: alot of Black Sabbath. Just like Tool, Pantera, Soundgarden. On the other hand, I don't think it's necessarily Black Sabbath that directly influenced them to make music like that. I think they were all just fed up with the 80s glam scene, and they wanted something dark, emotional and heavy. I'm the biggest fan of 90s music, probably because of that particular change. It was such an amazing time... Alice in Chains, Blind Melon, Cynic, Death, Down, Jeff Buckley, Megadeth, Metallica, Nine Inch Nails, Nirvana, Ozzy, Pantera(!), Pearl Jam, RHCP, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Tool... And that's probably not even half of it. There was also this amazing house scene coming up, alot of great hip-hop... It's so amazing to live in this time, because we have like 60 years of great light/pop/electronic music to discover, and it's accessible everywhere on the internet, on your phone... But I digress.
Brutalyeah AiC has doom metal elements in their sound. But they're not that easily classifiable. They have a unique blend of doomy metal, stoner/hard rock grooves, folk, country, psychedelic rock and some post-punk.
They always were one of the heaviest bands to come out of that movement, along with Soundgarden and The Melvins.
On an AIC binge this morning, after years of hiatus. Layne's voice and Cantrell's guitar...."perfection". RIP dear musician brother!

No more hiatus’. Doctors orders are to listen daily.
0:43 It always stuck with me how Layne is the only one who finishes this line and says "dies", while Jerry stops abruptly.
Yea and Layne appears laying in the video as if he were dead. It's foreshadowing...
@@TheStepmonkey😢
Layne wanted to die but didn’t have the guts to do it himself. He self medicated and it got him what he wanted.
@@KmvS86 I don't think heroine addiction counts as "self-medication".
@@TheStepmonkey the song is about people spreading rumors about layne dying like they always did in the 90s, so the funeral imagery makes sense
Here's what Cantrell said about the song's meaning: "That was pretty much at the height of publicity about cancelled tours, heroin, amputations, everything, thus it was another "FUCK YOU for saying something about my life" song. Any single rumor you can imagine, I've heard. I've been dead a few times, Layne's been dead countless times and lost limbs. True
Layne, rest well. What a great soul.
Amen my brother. I felt his soul through his music. I'd love to have met him. Off topic of AIC, I did indeed get to meet and hang out with another great soul. Mr. Ronnie James Dio. Our local band "Touch" had won MTV'S Basement hits back in the 90's. The singer of the band had a fantastic voice. We all were close friends. Ronnie had heard about them and invited us all to his upcoming RI, New England gig. We went, we saw and got to spend 5 hours with him and his band mates. Let me just say, for such a petite man, he had lungs of a giant. He and just talked and talked about my culture, Greek Mythology. He was into it. It was like talking with my friend of 10yrs. It was an honor to meet this great man. It was also refreshing that he was not into drug's, alcohol. No disrespect to Layne. I loved Layne's work.
That's awesome, rock on. RIP DIO!....There's a few bands I've seen live that I'll never see perform ever again like Pantera! I seen Pantera play 3 times here in NY. I wish I had seen AIC perform live but I was too young at the time and Layne wasn't healthy enough to tour. Waited and waited, then finally they do unplugged which was the only thing in the world that I wanted to see ( besides the opening gig spot for Kiss after unplugged). But who the in hell can get tickets for that? Anyway, I've heard so many great deeds Layne has done for people in general. He was a humanitarian at heart, and went out of his way to help people. After a gig in NYC '91 he befriended a homeless man on the street and brought him up to the suite they were staying at and hung out with the guy, gave him food and drinks. He was very polite in general and never ragged on people. Just a sweet guy with a huge heart, and to me outweighs the drug addiction.
Doug Prishpreed Oh nice. Pantera! ! Dimebag was explosive on his guitar. Very sad. I'll never forgive Phil. As for Layne. I heard that same story regarding the homeless man. It doesn't surprise me. Such a beautiful spirit. I hope he's at peace now. Some people are so pure that their time on earth is short. What breaks my heart is, he died alone. His actual death was April fifth. His body laid there for fourteen frigging days. Mike Starr was the last one to see him alive. Where were the others? That's just not humane. I remember the media coverage referring to his death as a gruesome discovery. I can't stand the media. I wept like a child. Now I'm going through this addiction from hell with another great young man. My son. He's a brilliant artist. I sent him off to college. He returned home with a bachelor's degree and a heroin addiction. My god I'm scared all the time...Sorry for the heaviness. Just came out..
I do. I had him quite young. He's my world! Thankyou hon. I'm 45.
Kat Hamilton Forgive Phil, none of us can know what it was like to be around them or be them. He has to live with it every day, that he left the band and that a lost soul took Dime from us. Hes a powerful human being who was going through a lot of things himself. I saw Pantera live once and its one of the highlights of my life. Peace.
I still listen to their self titled album as it was a new album. It sounds so fresh to me. I always discover something new.
It doesnt need to be 100mph to be heavy.. The riff man..
Pratik Karki soooooo true!
Pratik Karki down tuning usually sounds heavier in my opinion opposed to some standard tunings used in like speed and thrash.
This riff is exactly why I prefer they dub AIC Sludge Metal, heavy metal, anything, anything, just not “grunge”. There are so many sub genres that it’s worse than the amount of college bowl games. But Jerry’s riffs kicks so much ass, that sludgy-ass, deathly thick tone.
Even Mick Thomson from Slipknot says the slowest riffs are the heaviest as apposed to the faster riffs.
Douglas Walsh yeah I also said they are not grunge, they are sludge.
What made Alice In Chains different from the likes of other bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, etc is that they were even darker than them, they were more like a halloween band. U get the theme and the feel.
oh boy… kids these days are missing so much! my all time favorite band xd

I understand everyone singing the praises for Layne and he is greatly missed, but Jerry Cantrell is too often overlooked in his efforts to keep AiC moving along. Let's give my man Jerry some credit. I was very young in my Army career when I first started listening to them as a alternative to the Hair bands of the late 80's, a scene that got more outrageous and comical by the month, although I separated Def Leppard, Iron Maiden and Guns-N-Roses from the likes of Stryper, Ratt, Cinderella and such. Not bad bands really, actually quite decent, but the music scene of that time was clogged with these groups, and everybody was looking for a breakthrough
I even was listening to some Alternate Country just to hear something different than Mr. Big, Great White, Skid Row, Poison and Kix. I listened to a lot of Brooks and Dunn, Dwight Yoakam, Kentucky Headhunters and Rodney Crowell. I'm not an expert on any of the genres, but I heard it all every night in the barracks. 120 Minutes became my favorite show on MTV, it was a great relief to get another kind of adrenaline rush listening to Ministry, Nitzer Ebb, Morrissey (solo), the Smiths, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Echo and the Bunnymen, and others I can't think of at the moment.
Anyhow, I listened to AiC and Nirvana before the world was ready for them, but I was looking and waiting for the Billboard andvMTV music scene of that time to come to a screeching halt, much like I think many today are waiting for the current dismal music atmosphere to go away. When it did happen, and Nirvana, Pearl Jam and AiC, three very different groups finally came into their own, the industry flipped like an LP from the B-Side to the A-Side.
I know MTV goes with the trends, always have and always will, and when the so-called grunge scene emerged they dropped the Hair bands from their rotation like a hot potato. Am I telling the truth for anyone else who can remember? Those bands, who had a good run, were dead as far as MTV was concerned. Although I have a better appreciation for some of those bands now, I was happy for the change. Correct me if I'm wrong, but MVT tried to cash in on the movement by promoting bands like Jesus Jones and EMF. And sadly, at the end of the so-called grunge period, MTV put groups like the Spice Girls in heavy rotation.
I was lucky to be stationed at Fort Hood, TX in the late 80's and early 90's, and I traveled to Austin as much as possible because it has a great music scene. Still does, I'm sure. Other than a couple of run-ins with local skinheads there, it's a great place to hang out.Fortunately, my Army brothers were always with me, Shout out to Darryl Richardson, Theodore Cyganski, Peter Daniels, Robert Horn, Steve Mennis and Ron Felix, wherever you guys are.
Jerry rocks dude! He's such a main component in this and ur right..with Layne's amazing voice and all of his issues, it just always drew more media attention. But, I completley agree man. as well as the other members. The stars aligned with this band. For sure.
+Chancey McMorris I saw him as jealous of Layne. He tried to get Layne kicked from the band and he wanted to be the frontman, which didn't work out so well as we know because who listens to Jerry Cantrell solo album. I feel like he's very conceded and wouldn't accept that Layne was a better frontman. And apparently Layne thought the same way because in Angry Chair the book he kinda disses the whole band.
Gamertrip4life lol first of all, all of the members wanted him kicked at one point because Laynes drug addiction n the fact he was missing shows n tourdates. Jerry wanted Layne to be the lead singer of this band. Thats how he started..Jerry would audition crappy singers purposely to piss layne off into joining the band! And 2nd, Angry Chair was written by Audrina Rubio (i may have her first name incorrect) n that book recieved Terrible reviews because so much of it was absolute bullshit lol...n lastly, the new aic may not b that great, but Jerrys solo albums were always good. I know a lot of fans who dig hid solo stuff..not sure where u are getting ur info from..that crap book?? 😂😂😭
Lol no I know for a fact that when Jerry broke off for his solo shit that it was overlooked because Layne started Mad Season (which kicked ass.) As for the book, fine, some info might be drastically changed but I think that the essence of Layne's anger at Jerry's betrayal is 100% real. Nice try at making me look stupid, but I'm a little smarter than that ;)
+Gamertrip4life trying to make u look stupid? lol by what? stating facts? ur stating mere opinion
cantrell - a musical genius..
Jerry is sooo underrated. People always talk about Layne but Jerry wrote the songs! Well 90% of them anyway. Layne wrote the lyrics.
agree
Not exactly. He wrote most of the stuff from Facelift and before, about 60-50% on Dirt, and about... 20% on Tripod. But yeah, he is a hell of a writer.
Blader He meant Jerry wrote 90% of the music. Layne and Jerry wrote 50% of the lyrics each
Amie SilentHill he also destroyed Alice in chains the new guy is awful he should have left it alone
Best band of the 90's.....PERIOD!!!
Happy 53rd birthday Layne, Grunge god.🤘🖤🤘🖤
I love how they keep showing Laynes' hands. This song was about all the crazy rumors at the time and one was that Layne had his fingers amputated because of am infection stemming from drug use. He wore lots of gloves in public so they persisted anyway.
Amie SilentHill never knew that i love this band all time favorite
the song was Jerry's way to say he was tired of all the rumours about Layne. He'd hear all these stories that Layne had lost fingers or that Layne had aids and etc. Jerry was tired of all of it. "In the darkest hole, you'd be well advised Not to plan my funeral 'fore the body dies"
@@MrTechselect that's really sweet
@@MrTechselect Man, each time I come back to their videos I learn something new from people like you. Cheers to you!
Even though towards the end of Layne's life Jerry was impatient with Layne, he still loved the hell out of him and protected him. He was the only one that could make Layne cringe like he was being told off by an authorative figure.. because of the respect they had for one another.
Jerry just hated seeing Layne slowly killing himself and his major talent.
Layne was a true legend with that scary raw and angry voice rip we love you and miss you
Heavy metal and harmony. A delicious track.
I’m a 90’s Seattle guy and I’m embarrassed to admit that even though I had this cd, I’ve never seen this music video before. It’s pretty damn intense.
I first saw this video in 1995.
Lane was so beautiful. I miss his creativity. This is my all time favorite Alice song.
btw not Layne's song. Music and lyrics written by Cantrell.
also Jerry wrote most of their songs. Layne main contribution was lyrics.
I don’t care what people say Jerry Cantrell is a metal guitarist
hell yeah this is heavy as shit
He is yah best heavy metal band of the 90s alongside Pantera great guitar player
He shreds....he shifted into more melodic guitar style later on but most of his AIC days he was more metal but with melodramatic overtones leading the shift from metal to grunge thus leading the new experimental grunge movement. A good musician changes over time. If one stays stagnant they basically are on the way out creatively and start to sound the same. A real musician grows for better or worse. As ones life changes their music must change to remain authentic and resonant.
@@FreeUrMindz such an underrated comment
Is he considered bad?
my god, Layne Staley was beautiful.
He was. He has always been..
Incredibly!
Yes but sadly that this was his last album with them before running off to be with his H habit instead.. Well besides doing (unplugged) with alice but hmm... Its sad
@@jerrybishop2115 I truly think he decided to kill himself like this after Demri was gone...
emma duncan I love how he looks dressed in white on the gold staircase during the last verse. I like to think that’s how he looks resting in heaven today 18 years later.
One of my favorite riffs of all time and songs jerry used his vocals perfect in this and then layne comes in at the right times
AIC has some of the best lyrics ever. I love the part that says 'I could set you free, rather hear the sound, of your body breaking, as I take you down'.
YEAHHHHHHH ;)
Karen Perkins Cantrell always has a way with words. Not bad for a guy who claims to struggle a lot with lyrics.
Layne and Jerry were 10000x hotter than any of the 90's boybands 🤤
Let me just insert the name "Chris Cornell" right here
And Eddie vedder
Preach!
Peter Steele...?
Have you ever seen Damon Albarn?
Omg Layne was so handsome.
I can't even tell you how many times I've listened to this album. Flawless. RIP LS
This was their darkest heaviest album my favorite..
Layne era foda demais! Não tenho nem palavras para descrever o quanto esse cara foi o melhor. admiro e amo tanto esse lindo homem...
these two, best harmonics in music history. Change my mind
The old man in the video, Richard Stretchberry, died exactly 3 years after Layne, to the day no less. He was about 50 years older than Layne.
Nobody would have known that unless you pointed that out!
@@bballjd7438 Weird IMDB obsession, more information than you'd expect on there. I guess it's not really notable though, nobody really knows Layne's death date, same as Cobain and a lot of other secluded deaths.
I recognized him from a movie
That's insane
I will just never get over how we lost Layne. Poor lost soul. This was my favorite of all of their albums but you can hear what's coming for them. Jerry knew Layne wasn't just loosing his battle, he was submitting to it.
I battle anorexia. Twice, I was on hospice (end-of-life care). My parents were planning my funeral both times and literally were picking out coffins. They were scared, frustrated, and did not understand how in one with anorexia, one is addicted to the scale and to the feel of an empty stomach. This song was written due to rumors about Layne being dead, missing an arm, as well as rumors that the band had split up. The band was pissed at this and voila - we have "Grind" in their self-titled album (which I consider the angriest of AIC's work).
Hope you're doing well. Get better. I bet I would love you if I knew you. Don't hurt yourself. Okay?
That must be the trippiest thing for all your loved ones around you to be planning for your death when you're still alive
@@Targeted_1ndividual It added to the shame I felt regarding unintentionally hurting others. I remember my mom crying and saying "A parent should never have to bury their child I understand why funerals were planned for me given the prognosis from my health care providers, hospice, constant relapses and hospitalizations, blood work, and vitals from how emaciated I would get. Now, after 3 decades, I have been physically healthy for a record 5 years. Mentally I still battle it. AiC helps me fight it and make choices that keep me physically healthy.

I love Alice In Chains, their music helped me get through some of the darkest times of my life, lived my most of my young life as an addict, I’m 30 years old and can proudly say I’m clean. Layne may have not been able to help himself, but even in death he damn sure helped me and I’m sure he helped others in the same situation.
Same here, my friend!
AIC will always be kings of grunge/metal. all their tracks still hold up in 2020 strong AF cementing their legendary status. dudes will never die, layne still talked about 2day never forgotten, pretty damn amazing AIC fam
They don’t seem to age at all
This is correct
This solo by Jerry is sneaky badass!
One of his best and that's saying a lot!
NOTHING SNEAKY ABOUT JERRY... ABSOLUTE MONSTER
* Stone Cold Business
This riff is so hypnotic. As a huge AIC fan I'm kinda ashamed to say I just recently discovered this song...however it has become one of my favourites pretty quick. Either way late or not I found it!!!
Wow...did you come late to the party?
Forget being a fan..
MTV played the fuk out of it back in the day 😁
every summer , my neighbors love this song !! !! 😎🏁
I'm currently 17 and I love this band, thank god my mother introduced me to this band! I've loved them since I listened to rooster, rip layne, the poet of pain.
Why did it end?? What a great era for music, long gone now, Layne is gone but is constantly spoken about and admired 24/7 in 2020. Jerry carries the torch now, until he stops, Alice's music will continue to live strong & blow our minds and the ones who appreciate, get a huge payday everytime... 💯👍
As a struggling undiagnosed autistic 13yo in 1995, this song saved my life

I was recently diagnosed with autism and I listened to AIC so much growing up. The resulting lack of hope, depression, and being so obviously different definitely drew me to this band. Especially the poetic lyrics and rawness of the music. It was so comforting to listen to during my adolescence.

Estupenda banda AIC.

Layne y Jerry cantando juntos son geniales. Pero lo más triste es que Layne ya no esté más.
Y lo que más me encanta es la perrita Sunshine, sale hermosa en el video y en la portada del disco.
