I purchased mine in 2018 when Sweetwater was selling them for $350 and then I forgot I’d even had it until about a week ago when I came across it and started building a massive pedalboard around it and it’s fricken’ amazing! The drives aren’t the greatest, but will definitely work, but it’s the delays that give it up here and some of the modulation and reverbs are pretty darn good too. All in all, a great set of effects! If you can’t get it here, then you’ll be looking at expensive boutique pedals… mostly. Thanks for the review and reminder - that I had one of these!!! Best! ✌🏼
A bit late to the party! But recently picked up a used M13 in great condition in the UK off eBay made a very cheeky offer of £50 not expecting anything and the guy accepted!! Best £50 I’ve ever spent, loving the quality of the FX, it’s ease of editing parameters, for me I just wanted effects only as not bothered about amp or cab modelling, so this was ideal for me, along with it having a looper and a tuner are a bonus, I could have spent over £50 on a budget looper pedal and a tuner. Honestly the delays and modulations sound great and are why I wanted it, nice reverbs and the filter/synth fx are mostly decent and useable for what I need to do, the drives and distortion seem to have got poor reviews in the research I’ve done but personally with a little tweakage!! They sound decent enough, work and don’t sound out of place or crap in the recording I’ve used it on so I’m happy with this old bit of gear instead of spending £100s more on newer multi fx units or a shed load more individual pedals.
I own the DM4 distortion box and after reading the included instructions for each pedal as I changed, they sounded Very like the originals. (Of course, I started out just diving in and tweaking knobs … and buying more pedals). It has an amazing Muff Pi, for instance, with endless sustain when used as the instruxns describe. I wonder if the M13 is similarly misunderstood? Does it come with the cheeky clues for getting the best out of the models? I cannot imagine Line 6 Not packing that along with it … FYI, my DM4 was purchased by my wife for a b-day gift for me the first year of their existence. God bless. Look forward to hearing from you if you’ve the time. 🎸👨🏼⚕️. 🫶✌️♾️
Actually having the sound sans amp was very revealing to the overall sound quality..... the amp effects the tone more than most know. No other demo has this raw quality but still HQ. Thanks, nicely done.......
If you sit and tweak it instead of expecting a plug and play situation, you can plug this thing direct to the mixer and get a great sound. I have a shit load of gear, but this is what i come back to every time. This has that big analog sound quality to it, which i miss in the newer units, like in the old Digitech rack units of yore...Would never part with mine...
Used to run one with wahs, comps and dirt before my amp, and then one for stereo Fx running mods verbs and delays. Results were great....kind of sad I sold one of them --- this inspired me to take it out of the storage room and try it with my behringer wasp synth. I'll record a video too
I bought 3 in case 1 breaks. All the new shit is cool. But if it a broke.....plus I’ve play for 35 years and have still yet to find a unit that jives as well with analog pedals drives and such. Do all the radical sounds like that. Instead of the drive section I just program for mods. Also it’s amazing going straight trough.:as well in Fx loop.
I wouldn’t trade m 13 4 anything it’s been through hell and back 50 stares all kinds of climate and still kicking after 6 years, and I’m an old schooler analog od’s and tube amps. I’m pretty sure it’s just me, but my ears don’t hear AMP modelers the same as the actual amps. In all fairness though I’m 50 and stubborn as hell 😂 great vid though. U really know ur shit brother.✌️🎸🎼🎶🎶🎶🎶🇺🇸
Nice board, nice sounds! But can it do a combination of effects as a preset under one button? Just like a multieffectprocessor? Or does it only work as serveral stomp boxes on a pedalboard?
I got one 2nd hand 4 years ago...cost £75 ....it great if you want to sample the vibe of all those classic pedals of yore but are not rich....I use it plugged into my VOX AC4 12 ...My initial plan was to build a a small pedal board....as the single channel non reverb Vox can get a bit boring...lol...so just ..reverb ...delay...distortion/overdrive...maybe a chorus or compression....but the M13 was a cheaper option....whilst I'm sure it's not as good sounding as the individual pedals it still sounds great... before that I used an old Boss gt6 and before even that a boss BE6....both of which still work fine...
@@gearfacts An inexpensive import (made in china) actual tube amp (like the ones from monoprice), and an outboard distortion pedal (even a $30 behringer one) would make a complete sounding guitar rig. The M13 distortion tones sound completely fake and digital to me, but its other sounds are great.
Lots of crazy sounds but does it stand up and deliver a range of clean and overdriven sounds ? Also is the model still supported ? I’ve had a lot of line 6 products go by the wayside due to this
I failed to show enough clean/OD sounds but yep they are almost indiscernible from real pedals. Support is sufficient but the glaring problem is the lack of amp simulators.
Well there's no USB so I guess you'd be restricted to just recording its audio. Although there are MIDI ports, so you could set it up to control any number of parameters. I never did much of that kind of thing, too labor-intensive!

All depends what you’re looking for, the effects in M13 are great sounding years later, for me it’s suits all my needs, I don’t need a modeller that has tons of Amp & Cab sims or able to load own IR’s, just doesn’t bother me, just wanted the M13 for the amount of great sounding FX that can be used just like using individual pedals at a fraction of cost of buying individual pedals, having a looper, tuner and tap tempo are a bonus and does everything I need and it’s so easy to edit parameters quickly. Still a great unit in my opinion I’d never get rid. Not for everyone I get that cos we all have different needs.
I’m still using mine 10 years later and love it.
Yup!
Same....but I'm having issues with the power supply smh
