Great demo, I have got a M13, they are awesome, and even better when you use the 4 Cable Method, you can set the M13 to run your Drives through the front of the Amp and all the Effects through the Effects Loop. It sounds so much more awesome set up that way. ROCK ON
Thanks. Really helpful. Love the way you change what you're playing to make the best of the effect you're demonstrating. The value of reverse echo remains a mystery to us all 😂
@@MrChopsticktech I love my M13! I use it in my cover band and it does everything I need. Grabbed an MAudio expression pedal from Amazon and it works a treat once you short the internal resistor. Have fun with your unit!
best pedal demo yet, no heavy metal riffs, no boring blues cliches, no bull shit like Andertons, no Alex Hutchins intimidating histrionics just the info I'm after THANKS FOR POSTING
Im having technical issues with the pedal i owned it since last year i before i mostly play m5, now i got an m13. The settings on the effects keep radomizing is there a way to fix this, not really or should take in to get looked at?
just got mine today... manual directions... what are those? ive watched every video on youtube about this thing... just giving you the credit you deserve, yours was the best!! thank you!!! happy holidays and happy rocking!!!!
Hi mate. I use it in front of a tube amp all the time and it sounds great. I just run my distortions straight in front of it, and then straight into the amp. I don't use the FX loop. I must admit, outdoors it's very hard to see what's on, but if you know your settings and patches it's a breeze. I've used it a couple of times this year in outdoor settings and you can't see what's on or not, but I use the same patches all the time so I know which is which and it's easy. It sounds just like pedals
Price dropped so I picked one up over the holidays. Pro gear for sure, even the overdrives and distortions are solid for me - once dialed up right. I find I'm using the Vintage Overdrive (Rat model) a lot. Had an original Rat back in the 90s, the Line6 model is spot on and when used with the Mid-Boost EQ effect in front of it, the cut through and sustain is as good as it gets. Screamer is my #2 (TS-9 model).
This multi effect works very fine. First, I wanted to have a lot of analogs pedals, but m13 have all in one. The delays sound very similar at the original (especially analog delay with modulation, that is my favorite!). Now line 6 have a new POD HD 500 X, I want to try this!!
i wrote out my effects in gaff above the buttons. I use the same ones for each channel, and they are just tweaked for different guitars. worked fine so far
I appreciate your time in demonstrating the M13. Having a hard time deciding between this or the Line 6 Helix HX...uggghhhhh!!!! The HX allows you to run 9 Effects at a time and set your line up to run gain Based Effects; Overdrives, Distortions, Compressors, Wahs, Inline from your Guitar straight to your Amp while running your Non Gain Stage Effects.....Chorus, Flange, Univibes ( Univibes can run either way,) Delays, through the Effects Loop on the HX which is huge!!! Are you able to divide the signal path on the M13 as well?.....Some inline Guitar to amp and others through the Effects Loop? How many Effects can you run at the same time and lastly, how many Expression pedals will the M13 accept?.....Hopefully 2; 1 for Volumn and the 2nd to control the Parameters ( Speed/Level) of your Modulation Effects? I am noticing quite a bit of noise....Buzzing, White Noise and Hum. Is there a Noise Gate built in to the M13 and the Helix HX? Thank you again for your time and great demonstration!!! Cheers from across the Pond, KK OOPS, almost forgot, can you do Presets?.....Program your favorite Effect Setups and store them to recall for different songs?? Thanks again, KK
Is this still good to use today (2017)? I see many used unit on sale. Good for home studio/ recording use? By the way- @12:42 What's that awesome metal riff?
Good video. Wondering if anyone can help me. I'm using the M13 with the four cable method and am trying to add a Digitech Jam Man looper into the mix where I can use the looper on (clean and dirty channels) and have it loop properly sounding not mushy. Can anyone advise me on how to get it into the mix properly? Much appreciated.
I just got mine today (21 October 2022) at a local Mom & Pop music store with great service and guarantees for $250 USD. I would have paid $300-$350 for a used one if l trust the store because l see they are going for over $600 USD brand new online.
Hi there, Just wondering I did have the Line 6 Pod XT Live and it was an awesome bit of kit however, It's died on me so I'm needing to update and I was thinking about getting this but, with the Pod I was able to download settings from the internet on to it. Am I able to down load pre-made settings on to this?
Alright Mate nice review, just one question can this be plugged into a PC, I,m seeing some places says you can, but i can,t see a USB any where on the unit.
So i can keep my 2 distortion pedals, my volume and wah pedal with the m13? or if i buy it would i not be able to use it all together? Bc i want to buy the m13 for modulations and delays mostly.
i think i am missing something Can anyone explain me what are the advantages of m13 over pod hd500 ? Since both are the same price and pod hd500 has all the fx m13 has and still has amp modeling and expression pedal and more i dont need amp modeling but still for the same price with more features i am kinda confused why one wouldnt choose pod over m13
I had a POD HD 500 and 500 x and used them with 2 Vox AC15's and both had a lot of tone suck so I sold both. I can't comment on the M13. Best of luck. You can run 8 effects with the PODs as opposed to M13's limit of 4.
Banda Aventhür this is a stomp box specific modeler, so if you dig your amp like my 1980 Marshall 800 or my sons Fender Twin amp sims are not necessary
BradleyWiltshire Yes you can have it permanetly on as a Volume pedal or a Wah, But it is assigned to a pedal of your choice. I have got mine set up on all 3 right hand side switches. So I got a couple of different Wah effects and a Volume Pedal.
I heard some people say that the heavy metal sounds are crappy. Do you think they sound crappy at high volumes? Those people say it sounds very digital in the heavy metal sounds. So do you think the heavy metal sounds still sound good or are these people just going by the sound on UA-cam that is through crappy microphones?
Have to test it out for yourself to really know. Still it is good bang for buck and if you need better dirt FX just add a cheap Fuzz or Big Muff pedal to the mix and still way cheaper than buying 50 pedals or the more expensive units which sound the same.
Please can Simon or Chris help me with this? Have used a Line 6 Pod XTLive for years and want to swap to M9 or M13. I think my question is similar to Maxton's. I need 3 Distortions as core sounds (with nothing added) on footswitches - I'm always going to be using one of these. Then I need Delay and a Mod effect on separate footswitches which I can switch in and out as necessary. That's all, except I'd need to be able to replicate those settings in 2 'banks' for H/B and S/C guitars. Line 6 Support says you can do it using different scenes, but swapping scenes mid-song doesn't look practicable, and the manual isn't clear to me.Can this be done, do you know? Thanks in advance! Cheers - Peter.
This is how I have mine set up. I look at it as having having four rows of each looking from bottom to top, in one scene .I can bring this scene up before a gig : bottom to top, row one: Clean boost/overdrive/heavier overdrive. Row two, three different mods (for me, chorus, flange and rotary). Row three: Debating, could be a row of delays, or of filters, right now set up as delays, but thinking of keeping it as a filters/synth-ish/wah row. Row 4 has two delays, and the bottom dedicated as a lead boost. That is going to be my primary gigging board.
I was looking at getting the m9 or this for the extra 100 this seems like the best option but my question is how are the leds in outdoor setting? Can you see anything or are they useless in outdoor sun etc we play live outdoor shows in summer. I have a board I made up and a few effects processors like my older gnx 4. Gnx 1000 Etc I run 2 Marshall jcm 900 4100 heads. How do these sound when at higher volume is it very digital in front of a tube amp? Does it sound hollow or like pedals

What multieffects pedals do you suggest I get if I wanna play mostly "animals as leaders" type of music?
hello, why have you set the order : Amp- drive - mod - delay - reverb - guitar ? should'nt it be like Amp - reverb - delay - mod - drive - Guitar ? Sorry for my english xD
Chris Thieblot I have. I love the sounds on the Nova except I wasn't fond of the drives. But,,, programming the darned thing drove me goofy. My wife threatened to leave. Hi Chris. Thanks for sharing mate. If I'm honest, I don't really know the answer having never used it in that way. I would recommend the Line 6 site, or forums as they're pretty helpful. Cheers
of course you can..and I reccomend that..because the Drive Models in the M13 are all shit..just put your favourite OD Pedal in front of the M13`s "in-front-of-amp" chain..I do that for Years..works fine
Depending on what amp you have, a lot of the effects in your amp are probably exactly the same, Line 6 amps aren't really good with any external effects, though. They were designed to be "in the box" kind of amps.
Kind of, but not really. This is just a combination of their single modelers, so you don't have to buy them individually, plus you get a bigger looper, as well...
El HD500 es un animal differente. El M13 solamente imita pedales mientras que el HD500 tambien imita amplficadores, microfonos, cabinetes etc. El M13 es mucho mas facil de usar.

Can I use this stompbox with my line 6 amp?
You can, but it's not something I would recommend.
Then what do u recommend?
And why would u not recommend it?
Depending on what amp you have, a lot of the effects in your amp are probably exactly the same, Line 6 amps aren't really good with any external effects, though. They were designed to be "in the box" kind of amps.
+Harold Kim line 6 amps are horrible
Kind of, but not really. This is just a combination of their single modelers, so you don't have to buy them individually, plus you get a bigger looper, as well...

El HD500 es un animal differente. El M13 solamente imita pedales mientras que el HD500 tambien imita amplficadores, microfonos, cabinetes etc. El M13 es mucho mas facil de usar.
Why don't you show us how cool this thing is?
