I airlayered my monstera adansonii with soil instead of moss. Works great too. Why bother with unmossing part, which is always pain in back, if you don't have to 😁 Especially, if you started way ahead of time before chopping the plant up. Just use your potting mix instead of moss. Once roots are ready, no root-untangling will be needed. However, as I have done that with soil only once, I might be wrong and it may not work in some cases? 😊
Beautiful...lots of fun hard work! I still do not have the M albo....I would like more space too...I just found the channel you mentioned, yesterday from another channel, funny, I have not watched any videos yet....your plant and now plants are beautiful :) see you soon butterfly, and keep your wings up!
First off, thank you Justina, for always being here 💚. Thankfully Monstera Albo is always around, you'll get one eventually. Well, i would need to move to get more space, I feel you. I'm really kind of maxed out right now 😅. I guess we plantparents are all in this together 😂. Funny that you just now found Charmaines channel. I watch her for a while now and she has such pleasent videos to watch, with lots of beautiful plants. Definetly give her a watch 😉 Greetings 👋
I agree, Monstera albo is just such a pretty plant especially with good variegation. And yet she is so simple to care for. I love that! Greetings from germany 😉👋
Great idea! Very thankfull for your video ideas. Your wish shall be heard, I'm planning to film a "propagation tour" this weekend. Including these monsteras of course. There is a lot to show by now 😉✨ Best wishes 👋😊
i vote that the no drainage method will work. im rooting a monstera now in water, so far its working well. i root almost everything in water successfully.
Hi Nancy, I feel the same, water is so simple and yet so effective. So far the no drainage Method works great. The plant looks good so far and I even have to water it less often. Which is great. The ones I rooted in water are looking good too. I love just propagating in water. ✨😊
My Dear Leafy, what is the material in the bottom of the no drainage? clay beads? cant wait to see the follow up. Im a new subscriber. i saw this video & liked the subject matter. Thank you
Hi Nancy, welcome. I'm glad you liked the video 😊. You are correct, i use Clay beads for the drainage layer. I guess you could also use perlite, vermiculite or other stones for that.
Same here, I had the vase set aside for it for a while now 😅. I'm hoping in the long run the plant will be fine. So far I am happy to report she's doing great! New leaf already unfurled. I don't need to water as often & roots look good so far. Maybe this is your sign to try it 😉. I mean you don't have to put in a super rare expensive plant as a first try :)
Your albo is so beautiful! That top cutting is definitely my favorite. I do recommend only using a razor blade to cut to ensure more success in propping and the health of the plant. @techplant did a video showing results between different cutting tools to show the difference in the plants and it changed the way I cut plants. Here's his vid: ua-cam.com/video/1U0CKGFItag/v-deo.html
Thank you for sharing that with me, it's true I have become a little mindless about the cutting of plants. The video is pretty interesting, for best success its definetly better to use razors or scalpels. Ruling out any possible issues is always good especially when it comes to expensive plants. For some plants like Pothos I cannot be bothered to use razors though. Luckily all of the cuttings I took made it and have grown wonderfully, I sold almost all of them. Only 1 cutting is still with me + the top cutting of course 😇

Thank you I really appreciate your support Julius 😊.
Hope the drainless works out for you. I bought the prettiest vase to do it but I’m too scared lol
