Lol, I got it by buying a pack with all the DLC I think (not entirely sure. It's been a while. I got it though). It does offer good looking armor until getting the champion set because that is honestly the best set in the game.
1. There are actual real world diseases in this game!? 2. The Amell family has a habit of losing their fortune 3. I honestly would like it better if the Nightmare had taken Hawke or the wardens prisoner for whatever reason and our protagonist would save them with their friends. After all, Flemeth said they would learn whether or not they could fly she did not say they would be successful ;)
1. Yup, sure there are. The Fallow Mire was devastated by a prague before the undead came and Denerim's alienage suffers outbursts of prague in dire times. 2. It's true. I thing they should find a new hobby, maybe knitting. 3. I don't know, that is practically the only part of the game where a character with strong sentimental value - unless you choose Stroud, I guess - dies. Or supposedly dies, I like to headcanon that my Hawk slits her wrist, say "geez, finally I can stop pretending be a do-gooder for those Chantry lick-booters" and nails the weakened demon. Only to be trapped in the Fade afterwards, oh crap. But I digress, my point is that even if it breaks my hearth I like the fact that you actually need to choose someone to stay behind and live with the consequences.
They never outright show you he dies. He was still fighting when you leave. All you did was close the link to the Fade and disconnect the Nightmare Demon's influence. Considering they've resurrected characters that REALLY died (Leliana), bringing back a character whose status is actually "unknown" is much more simpler. Especially since Hawke has the biggest plot armor in the series so far, especially since he has no supernatural powers like the Warden or the Inquisitor. Also, the undead in Fallow Mire are a direct result of a mistake treating a plague. This mistake resulted in most of the village population dying.
The Dragon Age Keep does not literaly states that they died either. There is just something about bying more time for Inquisitor and party to escape. Regardless of whoever was left in the Fade. So it's not much, but there is still hope. And maybe not just for Hawke.
If only Uncle Gamlen had given them beans (a high source of zinc) and kept them hydrated with electrolytes. Then maybe his parents would not have died of Cholera. ;_;
Nope Nope...no leaving Hawke behind...sorry Stroud...never liked you. Your voice actor can be the official Sean Bean of the DA-verse and always have his characters die >_> (Riordan in Origins and Stroud in DAI). My mage Fem!Hawke is alive and well and probably has had a handful of elf-blooded children with Fenris :P
Margi Fisher mine has a bunch of cats and kittens cause she keeps finding one everytime she leaves Anders behind and every day she's gone till she comes back to his arms
Sure da2 dungeons had their problems and the game was a bit incomplete but the story and the characters are my favorite out of the whole series Hawke has always resonated with me because they seem more like a person than a born hero like the warden and The Inquisitor even though the Inquisitor was technically a mistake
Fighting templars, mages and even qunari is one thing, but now a lovecraftian fear demon from the fade ON the fade... I think that whoever was left there was way over their heads and fell while buying the others time. Maybe during DA4's mandatory fade section we will see the aftermath of the battle, like the nightmare dead and Hawke/Warden sitting on the floor leaning on a rock bloody and beaten (likely dead) and a spirit tells you what happened there letting you get Hawke/Warden's last thoughts, like goodbyes to their families, friends, lovers and so on. Could be a very emotional moment, especially if some of the DA2 cast returns, like a romanced Merrill or Fenris.
I like to think that it would be better if default Garret (mage) and default Miriam (rogue) were both canon, then neither Bethany nor Carver would have felt lonesome.
I always felt as though a mage Hawke would be best to leave in the fade. A novice mage in the fade physically would be dangerous. Now imagine a highly skilled one like Hawke, surviving there isn't too outlandish. Especially if said Hawke was a spirit healer. That spirit would be adamant in helping Hawke.
My headcanon for Hawke goes so off course. I've played the games too many times to think of either sibling dying and considering how powerful my Mary Sued Mage Hawke is, Varric's version is what actually happened. After the end she has Kirkwall abandoned stating it's unholy (she's devout) as it was the place where the Magisters crossed over, and the populace moved to an abandoned city she'd discovered years ago (during her mercenary time) and had been slowly rebuilding with her fortune. She names it Dragonholme and herself the Archduchess.
the Hawke family is very interesting and the Champion himself/herself is fucking badass. I do hope he/she returns in next dragon age game along with companions. They can be great group of people to recruit and kick some darkspawn ass
I always believed that hawke being lost in the fade was a good resolution to his story; tragic, but good.... never thought of him possibly coming back before... im not getting my hopes up i swear
Then again, i deliberately had my cousland romanced alastair still be a warden , and after her sternly worded letter i wouldnt dare let him get hurt 😞, the hard decision was all my fault
I think Hawke was meant to be left in the Fade, because if you leave a worden and you Fade Rift the main boss....can't he just jump to them, and pop out alive in the Fade? That would suck so much lol! Then in Dragon Age 4 you have to deal with Solas, Wars, and him...Again!?! 😂
The first time I played here lies the abyss. I chose Hawke to sacrifice figuring a character from a different game should have some closure. Needless to say, at the time I hadn't played either of the first two games. Now that I have I'm hesitant to allow my champion to die.
Nobody u sacrifice will really die, they’ll most likely return in the next game so choose whoever you want honestly. There is a reason why my world state always has Alistair as king tho, I didn’t wanna have to choose between the two. Make the warden Stroud, always. That why you can choose him and not feel bad.
Great video! but i must ask are you sure the twins are 21 ? Because i recall Leandra saying something like "18 years of love and care " when she talks about Bethanie in Gamelen house
I kind of wish for the whole "dragon blood theory" to be true in the end - woukd be so cool for all the three main characters to become dragons - the Warden through Avernus' concoction/Architect experiments/Joining ritual consequence, Hawke through Amell-Hawke legacy/red lyrium or smth like that and the Inquisitor through dragon investigation.
What is with Amells and scraps of red silk eitb crests for their loved ones?! Where their LI get these scraps? The curtains in the mansion should be in shreds already 😅🤣
**SPOILERS CONTAINED HEREAFTER** YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED>>> Okay, I have a thought about the person your Inquisitor leaves in the Fade in DAI, and this came to mind after watching this Champion video and then your video on the tranquil, in which you talked about the two known ways mages can be made tranquil being the chantry brand or killing them (their spirit, I'm guessing?) in the Fade while they're asleep in the real world (aka dreaming). Now, in that other video when you said the Avvar referred to the skulls that are used for oculara being from those who've been dream-slain, it made me wonder if they weren't specifically referring to those who are killed like Hawke can kill Feynriel in DA2 (as opposed to pressing into someone's forehead with a nasty brand). Which leads me to whomever you leave in the Fade to fight the Nightmare. The whole point of that was for the left-behind person to give the rest of the group enough time to escape through the rift, which the Inquisitor then closed as soon as they emerged, leaving either Hawke or the Warden essentially trapped. People seem to assume they perished, but why would they? A demon is a spirit. The spirit shows itself and its little minions as per your personal greatest fear (some in our group saw spiders, but not everyone did), but that's not what it really is...it's a spirit, period. Now, if the Warden or Hawke you leave behind is a mage, the question arises: can a demon possess them when normally, a demon possesses a person by making an agreement with them while they're dreaming in the Fade, not while they're physically in there. Remember in DAO when you (if you're a mage Warden) or Wynne or Morrigan enter the Fade to slay the demon possessing Connor? The demon takes Connor's form at first because Connor's spirit is being held in the Fade by the demon. Then when you call it on its B.S., it returns to its demon look, and you have to "slay" it...yet the real demon is at the end "mini boss battle" in the Fade, where it shows that it can make copies of itself throughout your fight with it. "The possession is not physical-the demon is still in the Fade, but so is the mage's spirit, and the demon is able to control the body through that captive spirit like a puppet." (dragonage.fandom.com/wiki/Abomination) So according to what we've seen: a real physical person in the Fade can kill demons, a dreaming person in the Fade can kill demons, if demons enter the real world in their raw form they can be slain and if demons (or spirits) enter a person in the real world, they can only be gotten rid of if their host dies (because that traps their captive spirit in the Fade) OR if that demon is killed *in the Fade* as Connor's was, because then the demon can no longer hold the spirit of their possessed mage captive. The exception to this scenario is with Justice and Anders since Justice was completely thrown OUT of the Fade into a corpse (possession) and thus was body-hopping kinda like archdemons, but I digress. Remember - Dorian tells us in DAI that he met a desire demon in the Fade, they sat around in luxury eating grapes and talking and then it tried to possess him. Obviously, it did not, because Dorian resisted/refused. The point with ALL of this is that a demon within the Fade cannot actually DO anything to you under normal dreaming circumstances unless you invite them to. They can, however, if given host bodies (e.g. inhabiting a mage's body like Justice ends up doing) hurt other people because they now have a physical base of operating in the real world. But the Nightmare is still just a spirit in the Fade. It doesn't have a body any more real than a dreaming mage does. Demons and spirits in their spirit form must be invited to act upon you or enter you, as Anders invited Justice. If Anders had refused, Justice could NOT have entered him. If Hawke/Warden does not give the Nightmare permission to kill them, and their spirit is NOT separated from their body since they're in the Fade physically, how could the demon, a spirit, kill them?
Am I the only one that actually headcanons that both male and female Hawke existed at the same time? They're twins, the Hawke you don't choose died during the Fifth Blight either during Ostagar or the attack on Lothering
the warden amell ,morrigan their son / the inquisitor with dorians necromancer advide they could find a way to sommon hawk´s dead soul even if its for fun :P ok Anders, cole or the dreamer-mage who got possibly saved by hawk in kirkwall could help probably too^^ OR Hawk sibling as warden or templer gets hawks blood (from the last time the wardens tried to seal corypheus ) and does what templer do by creating a phylakterium and hunt her in the down in the veil... i mean never someone had a kind of compass in the veil thats sounds interresting to me^^
Yeah, I always end up going for a more Asian look for my Hawke family so my Carver and Bethany actually look pretty good. Knowing the Amells are only second cousins I always make my Amell mages pretty matchy to how I always make my Hawkes lol.
I just found your channel and love the videos I've seen so far, but sweet Mary mother of fucking Christ, that Carver was not something I needed to see at 3 AM.
17:17 The Fade in Dragon Age: Inquisition was incredibly underwhelming... Mages draw their power from the Fade. So if they are in TF in the flesh they’re magic should theoretically be more powerful than ever! I love that line of dialogue that Flemeth speaks to Hawke in Dragon 🐉 Age 2. Except the part where she says to him that he could never become a dragon. Hawke should have been able to clapback. “I’ll be the judge of that, crone. Not you...” Magee should be able to fly if they are in TF in the flesh. And I still don’t understand why BioWare believed that Hawke would just follow the command of the Inquisitor to sacrifice himself to begin with. My Hawke would have told the Inquisitor to go feck himself! If anyone should have stayed behind. It’s the jackass who brought them in the Fade to begin with. And Hawke would have taken over the Inquisition from that point on in the story.
Probably pointless to make this comment on a 4 year old video when there may well be a correction later, but I do not think that the first of Revka's children can be the Warden Mage. From the Codex entry "The Amell Family" Lady Amelie de Montfort recounted that Revka's child being taken away was the first of the problems for the family. Given that we know Leandra took off in 9:05 Dragon, and most children seem to manifest their magic in the 7-10 age range (thought Jowan and Merrill were younger), placing Firstborn at just 7 would have them be 32 at the beginning of Dragon Age Origins. That would be much, much too old for them to be just taking their Harrowing. While the wiki links "the child" to the Mage Origin, the math doesn't work at all. It seems more likely that Warden Amell escaped with their siblings and father to Ferelden and was later discovered and taken to the Ferelden Circle. The codex from Amelie also does say "The Circle", which as someone living in Kirkwall would have implied the Kirkwall Circle. If Warden Amell was taking their Harrowing around the 17-20 range, then at most they would have to be born in 9:10 Dragon and wouldn't be discovered as a mage until 9:17 Dragon or thereabouts. As for the Meredith point, I think you're right to shift the arrest to an earlier point. Realistically, look who her Knight Captain is; Cullen. Cullen was 19 in Origins (which explains so, so much), and then 20 in DA2 after the year of servitude to get into the City. If Meredith was similarly 20 when she was Knight Captain... which would have to have been back in what? If this whole Threnhold thing had to actually happen in say 9:04 Dragon, and she was Knight Captain 7 years before that then she'd be KC at 8:97 Blessed (if we are using 00 years), and then 8:77 birth. So, 60 in 9:37 Dragon? Hmmmm.... Maybe there is a reason they don't give us any of these people's actual birthdays. They don't do dates well. Too many dates. Too many calendars.
so i have a question, in dragon age inquisition, when i choose the tempalrs over the mages, in the room [SPOILER] where the noble man gets killed after doing the flag ceremony (wich im calling BS on) i found to shields hanging from the walls with the Amell crest on them. why is the family sigil of Hawke in a Templar stronghold?!
Unfortunately the answer is boring- not everyone at BioWare who designs the levels knows every single symbol by heart. The level designer needed another decor item, and that crest shield was there so they used it.
Hahahaha history can't be fixed XD wait that guy was who Leandra was to marry? No wonder she went for a Mage AND THEN SHE WAS WAMTING TO ARRANGE A MARRIAGE WITH HAWKE AND SOMEBODY ELSE AND WHAT DID SHE DO? SHE RAN OFF WITH AN APOSTATE HOW DARE SHE
Never did like Dragon 2... None of the major decisions properly sank in to the character's path as most were forced into a condensed resolution making any heroic or evil actions pointless. Trailer and setup stated about changing fate but I didn't expect it to be as pointless as the recycled cave missions of kirkwall Besides the development quality between mass effect 2, none of the side characters actually synced in properly as a party or the story unless a plot twist is pulled from the game's arse.

I always supposed that Straud was tve one who should be left in the Fade - "canonically" speaking. Alistair is supposed by Bioware to be King (as he is in comics and other materials) and Hawke has a huge sentimental support from the players (many people will leave Alistair in the Fade to save Hawke). And Straud is this noname character who is kind of involved and kind of not - the perfect candidate.
Plus the animation of Hawke or the warden attacking the demon just isn’t designed for a mage. I know that Hawke can be a warrior or rogue but BioWare’s default world state has them as a mage.
@@yang6642 yep, it always makes me giggle when I watch some playthrough and see this scene with Hawke slamming the spider with the staff - like maybe do some magic, no? (Not to say that I've always wondered why not just create some badass light spell, blind the spider and run away together, yeeep 😅) I'm pretty sure that Biowares have a default world state scenario which they use as a skeleton to the game. If one looks through all comics, books and lore it becomes pretty obvious. Hawke is definitely a mage in this default state - even just because in DA2 the whole plot makes a lot more sense to a mage protagonist while warriors and rogues look either suspiciously too informed about magic or too distant from the concept till it starts to be strange why they even bother about the whole problem)
I just cannot make Hawke a mage. The story doesn't even make any sense that way. I mean Meredith is just going to name an apostate mage Champion of Kirkwall? You can just walk around as one of the most recognizable nobles in Kirkwall flinging spells about? Come on...I know a lot of the writing in DA2 is wonky but that just goes too far.
I blame the messed up timeline on Varric. He was being interrogated. Can't expect him to keep all the dates correct under stress.
Jenivere Valearen or he was just screwing with Cassandra and did it on purpose.

"The Fallow Mire of was devastated by a prague"
Excuse me ?!! My city has nothing to do with that !!! XD XDX XD
If only Uncle Gamlen had given them beans (a high source of zinc) and kept them hydrated with electrolytes. Then maybe his parents would not have died of Cholera. ;_;
Didn't Hawke kill a bone dragon ampted by blood magic at one point?
Eyebrowless fivehead carver is an amazing look
It would be wonderful if you haven't helped Cole become more human, that he finds Hawke in the fade and helps him/her escape.
I like to think that it would be better if default Garret (mage) and default Miriam (rogue) were both canon, then neither Bethany nor Carver would have felt lonesome.
Minor error but default female Hawke’s name is Marian, not Miriam
Big soft spot in my heart for this game
I always felt as though a mage Hawke would be best to leave in the fade. A novice mage in the fade physically would be dangerous. Now imagine a highly skilled one like Hawke, surviving there isn't too outlandish. Especially if said Hawke was a spirit healer. That spirit would be adamant in helping Hawke.
don't leave Hawke in the fade... :'(
Buh-bye Alistair lol
That add was sooooo well timed.
"Before I go a word of advice"
Que Finance advert.
Your Carver kind of looks like Loghain ^^
Ikr I thought it was Loghain XD
I wish I could find fan theory's on warden amell's siblings
I've never had that conversation about Malcomb Hawk with Gamlin!
Great video! but i must ask are you sure the twins are 21 ? Because i recall Leandra saying something like "18 years of love and care " when she talks about Bethanie in Gamelen house
Yeah they were 18 at the start.
Oh crap, what’s happening with the warden now... and yes Hawke is alive lmao. There is no doubt in my mind that they are alive.
That was the most sexiest way to giggle "is it", I've heard it.
I would make sense, Meredith looks to be about 50 years old or so, so her being new and ambitious in 9:11 makes sense.
The fact the theory that Malcom is the maker while Leandra is Andraste either literally or as a homage still is awesome
What is with Amells and scraps of red silk eitb crests for their loved ones?!
Where their LI get these scraps? The curtains in the mansion should be in shreds already 😅🤣
2:21 Huh, I accidentally named my Hawke after her aunt-in-law. Cool.
**SPOILERS CONTAINED HEREAFTER**
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED>>>
Okay, I have a thought about the person your Inquisitor leaves in the Fade in DAI, and this came to mind after watching this Champion video and then your video on the tranquil, in which you talked about the two known ways mages can be made tranquil being the chantry brand or killing them (their spirit, I'm guessing?) in the Fade while they're asleep in the real world (aka dreaming).
"The possession is not physical-the demon is still in the Fade, but so is the mage's spirit, and the demon is able to control the body through that captive spirit like a puppet." (dragonage.fandom.com/wiki/Abomination)
So according to what we've seen: a real physical person in the Fade can kill demons, a dreaming person in the Fade can kill demons, if demons enter the real world in their raw form they can be slain and if demons (or spirits) enter a person in the real world, they can only be gotten rid of if their host dies (because that traps their captive spirit in the Fade) OR if that demon is killed *in the Fade* as Connor's was, because then the demon can no longer hold the spirit of their possessed mage captive.
They way I laughed when five head Carver appeared on screen 💀💀
I like to believe chapter ??? is Hawke reaching through the fade to let you know they are at peace.
Hawke was always my favorite
Am I the only one that actually headcanons that both male and female Hawke existed at the same time? They're twins, the Hawke you don't choose died during the Fifth Blight either during Ostagar or the attack on Lothering
The words of Morgan's mother hold a lot more weight in the times we are in now
I named my Hawk... Milke and I though you would like it :)
Default Marian is best. Mine is an archer.
Holy crap you're a good narrator. Do you do any audiobooks?
the warden amell ,morrigan their son / the inquisitor with dorians necromancer advide they could find a way to sommon hawk´s dead soul even if its for fun :P ok Anders, cole or the dreamer-mage who got possibly saved by hawk in kirkwall could help probably too^^
OR Hawk sibling as warden or templer gets hawks blood (from the last time the wardens tried to seal corypheus ) and does what templer do by creating a phylakterium and hunt her in the down in the veil... i mean never someone had a kind of compass in the veil thats sounds interresting to me^^
i feel for all the players who had a fleshed out warden amell oc to then play da ii and be bombarded with all this information
Yeah, I always end up going for a more Asian look for my Hawke family so my Carver and Bethany actually look pretty good. Knowing the Amells are only second cousins I always make my Amell mages pretty matchy to how I always make my Hawkes lol.
Hey I bought the item packs lol
Bless this mess :)
Can you do a vid about the lands beyond map? I read that our warden traveled west to lands that's never had a blight.
I love how you keep dissing the Item Pack. XD
i'm so high and drunk rn i thought you said he was 19 when he took his heroin :D i was like say whaaaaaaat u make my day thnx
I love this stupid family so much, it would have been so amazing if the inquisitor was also an amell somehow.
😅 I bought all the DLC for da2😅
Not you...”
Magee should be able to fly if they are in TF in the flesh.
And Hawke would have taken over the Inquisition from that point on in the story.
me always choosing logain to go with Detective Adaar while leaving hawke in the fade.
I knew the champion and warden were related didn’t realize they were first cousins wow
Maker bless 5head Carver.
I thought it was mentioned in game that the twins were 19 at the start of the game?
They are indeed 18 at the beginning. That makes Hawke 22.
In my head canon, DA:4 crew will be Hawke, Hero, and Inquisitor
Hmm.... I actually thought the Amells were disgraced before Perrin rose to Viscount... I probably just got confused by the messed up timelines.
Five head Carver...ok.
I have a point of confusion though...isn't there an option to have a Mage Warden who is an elf, and not an Amell?
Nice reference to Whose Line there 😉
rip to everyone who left hawke in the fade because of what flemeth said 😭
so i have a question, in dragon age inquisition, when i choose the tempalrs over the mages, in the room [SPOILER] where the noble man gets killed after doing the flag ceremony (wich im calling BS on) i found to shields hanging from the walls with the Amell crest on them. why is the family sigil of Hawke in a Templar stronghold?!
Unfortunately the answer is boring- not everyone at BioWare who designs the levels knows every single symbol by heart. The level designer needed another decor item, and that crest shield was there so they used it.
@@GhilDirthalen that is indeed a boring answer but an answer to my question. a mistake in level design. oh well :T
Still love watching these.
Hawke father?? Isnt his name is yves?(that what varric told me in DAI) xD
Hawke’s father’s name was Malcolm, this is stated multiple times in DA2
Hahahaha history can't be fixed XD wait that guy was who Leandra was to marry? No wonder she went for a Mage AND THEN SHE WAS WAMTING TO ARRANGE A MARRIAGE WITH HAWKE AND SOMEBODY ELSE AND WHAT DID SHE DO? SHE RAN OFF WITH AN APOSTATE HOW DARE SHE
I also thought Bethany was the oldest of the two
And btw the voice actor of M! Hawke does Malcolms
I prefer Loghain's Hard in Hightown chapter tbh
I BELIEVE HAWKE WILL COME BACK!! THEY WILL COME BACK WITH A NEW BADASS ABILITY AND EVERYONE WILL BE A BIG ASS HAPPY FAMILY AHAIN!
YES YOURE RIGHT, THEY HAVE TO COME BACK! They WILL COME BACK!
Gamlen? More like gamblin!
dragon age 2 was made in a year?! ............ not bad
I'm pretty sure grey wardens are immune to disease
Never did like Dragon 2... None of the major decisions properly sank in to the character's path as most were forced into a condensed resolution making any heroic or evil actions pointless. Trailer and setup stated about changing fate but I didn't expect it to be as pointless as the recycled cave missions of kirkwall
Besides the development quality between mass effect 2, none of the side characters actually synced in properly as a party or the story unless a plot twist is pulled from the game's arse.
If Dragon Age gets a PS5, I’m playing all 3 games to try out the races, classes and romance options

Omg not even Carver deserves that forehead 😅
Pffft wishful thinking? Please! Hahaha please! Haha! Hahehahehehehee please😭😭😭
Please god please, let hawke take a break
Jesus she worked way hard on this. And it’s all for a video game with a nonsense timeline
I'm starting to feel like I'm the only one who let Stroud live over Hawke
Can u change rase
Neko * Not in DA2, no
I always supposed that Straud was tve one who should be left in the Fade - "canonically" speaking.
(Not to say that I've always wondered why not just create some badass light spell, blind the spider and run away together, yeeep 😅)
I'm pretty sure that Biowares have a default world state scenario which they use as a skeleton to the game.
I modded mine to make the Hawkes elves.
I honestly left hawke to die because I hated 2 so much. :x
I let Hawke died because there is no important reason for them to live than the well being for the Grey Wardens
But I love sarcastic Hawke they bring the reality of how shitty the game is and makes it funny like Avelines attempt to court Donnic XD
