1:38:45 Yesssss I was waiting for the Reaper to show up sometime on this video. Crazy how it waits for you outside of town and even waits for you while you time travel!

Is this what your colleague from Castlevania has to endure in each entry?" "Well, now it's your turn: It's a sad thing that your adventures have ended here!"
My uncle had this one in a crate of NES games, I never played it and now I'm too busy to spend the time on old games unfortunately. It's great to be able to see in depth what the game was all about. Keep it up, this is one of my favorite channels. I always look forward to the weekends to see what game you play next.
"Don't worry about your debt. We will never pay this guy back" That's what I like to hear. This game seems pretty cool! Blending Zelda gameplay with menu based combat sequences. It's too bad the RPG battles seem so pointless, but a neat idea regardless.
I also love how you have bread and mashroob. One of those is pretty specific while the other can literally be anything. They could have given you water but no they insist on beverage, which is what mashroob means. Beverage.
I was thinking the same! These videos do these games, creators, and produces credit, always maps and art work. The research alone done on these games is impressive.
I watched my dad spend 2 weeks beating this game back in the 80s! No guide book, no walk through, no internet, just his desire to beat the game. Too this day its TWO battle styles is unique and was rather fun.
What if I told you the funniest part of this 3+ hour video is at 12:34 - "Do you see the feather on my turban? Do you think that some common rube could afford a turban this fancy??" Great video, as always, and cool game too! Thank you for making these!
I've never heard of this game. But it looks interesting and I'm having a blast so far, a half hour in. Some of my favorite NES games are the ones with more experimental gameplay styles, featuring two different "genres" like Blaster Master and The Guardian Legend. In this game, it's weird how it has both Zelda-style overworld combat and Dragon Quest-style turn-based RPG combat. That'll be interesting to get used to! I'm sure the rest of this walkthrough will be enjoyable, as usual.
This is one I hear rarely talked about, I haven't played it extensively enough to give proper judgement on it, but from what I played, It's a solid game.

I found this one Friday at blockbuster when I was a kid and initially only rented it because all the “good” games were gone. That was one hell of a Friday night me and my brother stayed up all night and again Saturday just completely hooked but making slow progress lol. I liked it so much I bought it after I had to return the rental copy. I’m lucky in the fact I was old enough to be working in the mid to late 80’s so I amassed a huge nes library that I kept to this day. I’m pretty much going week to week waiting for him to do one I don’t own so I have an excuse to plug the few holes in my collection lol. Honestly hoping for a Link to the past and the rest of the mega man and Castlevania series fingers crossed 🤞

This was the first game I looked through your videos for. I had about given up hope that it would ever get any recognition in the modern era. You do great work, and I thank you for it.
I never knew this thing existed until this wound up in my playlist -- and that's shocking, as a 1980s / 1990s kid who once owned an NES and subscribed to Nintendo Power for years and years. There are many obscure titles (especially those never released in the U.S.) that I often don't know much about, but I really didn't expect it for something in THIS genre -- I thought I knew all the 8-bit era RPG/Adventure games! I definitely wish it had been advertised more heavily.
I gotta say I love this channel if not for the amazing content but for learning about awesome games I never even knew existed! Thanks U can beat video games!! Your channel is awesome👌🏿
It's so wild to me that I never heard of this game at all until only a couple of years ago. Everything I've seen about it makes me think it would have been right up my alley as a fan of old Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior games (though I guess they were new at the time). Videos like these really make me itch to find and play it now!
Since day one your vids have been high quality and informative, but your becoming more comfortable and throwing in more humor whenever the opportunity arises has made each entry even more entertaining. It’s funny to think that for the rest of time, unless some horrible catastrophe befalls us, these videos will serve as humanity’s way to conquer these 8-bit masterpieces. 200 years from now someone will hear a joke about the 1980s and have to do their closest thing to googling it.

Culture Brain was such a neat company; they made so many oddball games, and unfortunately, a lot of them didn't turn out very well. Magic of Scheherazade was a huge exception; even if it didn't sell very well, it felt like they accomplished everything they were trying to do with it, and it all fits together pretty well. This is one of my all-time favorite NES games; thank you for covering it!

The turn based battles aren’t random so much. The hits go in order from one to the next. And if you didn’t notice, when you cast oprin with 1 MP left at level 2, you drank mashroob and went up to 50 MP (max MP is 20 at level 2). Gotta love the old bugs. By the way, thank you so much for doing this game!!! One of my all time favorites, even though it wasn’t one of the top games of the NES. It always has a place in my heart. You are the best!!
Oh wow! I'm beyond impressed with its design. From the beautiful sprites of people's faces, to actually showing the Robot translating, to characters telling you about secrets and making the playthrough quite playable (and less annoying), to Oracle of Ages Time-Travel mechanics. Not to mention having both Zelda 1 combat, and turn-based combat on the same game? This is an impressive NES game that does NOT have all the obtuse and annoyances of first developers, and an even more interesting 2nd version (how often did that happen)! Now I'm quite interested in the Japanese version (visuals and names of spells).
Maze in the second world I had one of my most memorable moments. My grandmother yelled at me for putting masking tape on the TV. I was marking the pits in the corridor. Totally worth it.
A very overlooked game, and one of the best early action RPGs, interestingly, the main character you play as looks strikingly similar to another prominent video game character, the main character from the forgotten classic arcade game Arabian.
I really felt as a kid I played 90 percent of the games probabaly but you find ones that I am not familiar with from time to time - I love it - looking forward to this video :) favorite saturday morning cartoon replacement (sunday today ):)
HOLYSHIT! i cant believe this game is real! i played it for a few weeks when i was ?8? and convinced myself it was all a conglomeration ov ideas from my childhood
Wow, if it weren't for you and KRB I would never know about this game and many others. Keep up the great work man, your episodes are something I truly look forward to.
That’d be fun! I just played thru seasons then kinda fizzled out on the end of ages. I played seasons on my GB but couldn’t find a cart of ages to used an emulator on my n64 Everdrive to play ages.
Nice to see you playing this game. I was somewhat obsessed with this game after renting it a few times and being unable to ever locate it in stores. 20:15 - the song here is my jam - prob the best song in an amazing 8 bit soundtrack!
I rented this one over and over again when I was a kid. I would have given you my bike for that one world code! I think it's time I boot that one up and beat it myself for the first time.
I am so glad you did a video for this game. I played this many years ago but could never beat the Salamander. I also made the mistake of playing the Warrior instead of the Magician. Now I can go back and finally beat this video game.
Scherazanadz!!! Me and my best friend were to young to know who Scheherazade was and nads was a funny word so that's what we called this game... Well we still do in our late 30's too but we used to call it that then too.
I cant believe I've never even heard if this game. It was great. I would have never figured out a lot of that back in the day. Or nowadays. Nice job man, worth the wait. Cant wait for the next one.
Like most here, I learned about it fairly recently. Graphics were nice looking, but I'd heard it was much more difficult than it is, so always held off. Definitely wish there was more to the series, and significantly less flashing colours. I love that sometimes multiple things change colour because they were all tied to the same plane or whatever, shows you the limitations they were working with. Great video and great jokes! Worth the paltry 1 day wait for this huge gift!
I'm always excited to see more Magic of Scheherazade content, because it is still a bit under the radar. There are a few things you omitted, though, that would have been fun to discuss. Like how the various merchants have preferred classes to give discounts to, or to go into more detail about how to avoid encounters on those "trap" spaces, as you put it. Or how to avoid getting the large amount of Grim Reapers you kept getting! There's actually a much more casual-friendly way to perform the Legend Sword Skip than the way you did it, although you might not have seen it if you didn't check enough different speedrun videos. The Bread of Gotrat and other free coin spots are worth nothing, too! It might be a good idea to reference where you learn some of these tricks from, too. As someone who helped develop some of the strategies you use here, it feels a bit weird to see someone do them and give no credit or reference to where it was learned from.
You point out the one thing that bugs me about these: no research credits given. Would be truly excellent of him to at least put the runners/guides he used in the description at least.
I remember seeing this in one of the Nintendo Power magazines way back when, but never got to play it nor knew anybody who ever had it. This is interesting watching this!
A lot of people really liked Bootsy from the Angry Video Game Nerd channel in the past. He had a very comforting and relaxed demeanor and very much had the same attitude of "If I can do, you can to" and that feeling really rings true with this channel. Amazing stuff you got here 👍
I want to say that before I watch this, I want you to know that I loved this game, but never beat it, even on an emulator. I always got stuck on the 2nd world. I used the code to explore the final stage all powered up, but never completed this one. I never looked it up on Gamefaqs. In any case, I love that you made a video about this game. I look forward to watching it. Like your Final Fantasy video, it may take me a couple of days. Thank you. So few people played this as younglings. When I was a child, my mother worked at video store called "Take Home Video" in a small town. That's how I could play games like this and Faxanadu and Fester's Quest and other games most kids didn't have access to at the time.
Ah nostalgia! I remember beating this game in my youth. It was hard as f'k. I really like to see the playthrough preserved. The Arabian theme was great and I loved how you got many companions to help you on your quest. ^_^
Man, your videos are always a treat to watch. Great information both on the story of the games and on the games themselves. If I may suggest a game, I would like to see you try Athena for the NES. Been contemplating trying that myself, actually.

A very overlooked game, and one of the best early action RPGs, interestingly, the main character you play as looks strikingly similar to another prominent video game character, the main character from the forgotten classic arcade game Arabian.
This game is such a ride! I got it in a bundle and went in blind. Was not disappointed, it's all over the place XD
So glad you played through this one! Such an underrated classic!
A truly underrated classic on the NES. Great to see it getting more attention
Bravo! This was quite the ride. I'll have to actually play this one for the first time, now.
I loved this game when I first played it 30 years ago. I still love it today.
This game was so good took me forever to beat it as a kid.
I really felt as a kid I played 90 percent of the games probabaly but you find ones that I am not familiar with from time to time - I love it - looking forward to this video :) favorite saturday morning cartoon replacement (sunday today ):)
This is one of the rare channels I turn notifications to on. Thanks for creating great content!
HOLYSHIT! i cant believe this game is real! i played it for a few weeks when i was ?8? and convinced myself it was all a conglomeration ov ideas from my childhood
Childhood fave. Such an ambitious game design for that time and they absolutely nailed it.
The Dan Akroyd pun had me dying. That was well executed. Very well played sir.
Wow, if it weren't for you and KRB I would never know about this game and many others. Keep up the great work man, your episodes are something I truly look forward to.
Love your content! Look forward to it every weekend. Would love to see Zelda oracle of seasons/ages back to back weekends.
Naw, he gotta do Rollergames first.
That’d be fun! I just played thru seasons then kinda fizzled out on the end of ages. I played seasons on my GB but couldn’t find a cart of ages to used an emulator on my n64 Everdrive to play ages.
My tied for 2nd favorite zelda games(1 is links awakening), I'd love this!
@2:24:00 AVGN reference!😂
Your videos are amazing, thorough and detailed.
Yes! Yes! Yes! What an underrated game. Thanks for reviewing and showcasing it.
I remember when this game was on the shelves at my local rental store. I never gave it a chance, but now I need to go check it out.
Nice to see you playing this game. I was somewhat obsessed with this game after renting it a few times and being unable to ever locate it in stores.
20:15 - the song here is my jam - prob the best song in an amazing 8 bit soundtrack!
This was a favorite of mine when I was a kid. I appreciate you doing a video on this.
We called it the Z game 🤣
Fun fact - the developer officially trademarked Mashroob according to the Nintendo Game Genie manual
You put great effort into your content and it needs to be more heavily viewed!
Oh hey! You did an episode of Phelous' favorite game! *The Magic of...*
_Sh-... Sherry? ... Sh-... Sher-ray-za..._
... *His favorite game!*
One of my favorites. Spent hours and hours on it back in the day.
I've never heard of this game in my entire life. It looks awesome!! Adding it to my list.
Love this game so much. Also very much enjoyed the little AVGN shout-out.
Thank you so much for covering this game. I was looking for it for some time.
I absolutely adored this game.
The turn based fights were my favorite part.
I give major kudos to #UCBVG because this has to be one of the longest videos for a game I have ever seen. Congrats.
3 hours wow
Here to like and comment for the algorithm. I'll come back and watch the whole thing a bit later. Thanks for the great content!
Oh my god, you read my mind (or maybe just the comments).
This is one of my favourite hidden gems in the NES catalogue.
My man, I’ve been watching the ads without skipping so you can get the most profit out of them. Please continue making these awesome videos 👍
Ah nostalgia! I remember beating this game in my youth. It was hard as f'k. I really like to see the playthrough preserved. The Arabian theme was great and I loved how you got many companions to help you on your quest. ^_^
That normal battle theme is the most Culture Brain thing I've ever heard and I love it so much.
Man, your videos are always a treat to watch. Great information both on the story of the games and on the games themselves. If I may suggest a game, I would like to see you try Athena for the NES. Been contemplating trying that myself, actually.
