Hey so I want to make a statement look no offense but you not covering mainstream stuff anymore is dumb what I mean is both mainstream and indie can coexist and both do have there advantages and disadvantages at tye same time and no matter how people say they perfer one or another they both should co exist together but the internet being dumb as always never wants that and heck there's even an example that shows that indie can have a dark side which is hellva boss mainly s2 s1 had a great start and set up but s2 just screw everything up and Viv never wanted to take criticism even when people try to be neutral and nice about it she ignores it and never learns so yey agian not trying to bash indie I want to say that you should just do both and everyone wins you still conver mainstream like bobs bugers and also indie like tadc in different vidoes and not all has to be squeeze into one you can do it separately so please think about it
I really like how each of the indies animations shown were different styles of animations. Really shows off the style and creativity
Murder Drones is actually my current hyperfixation, and while TADC is definitely what got Glitch the most amount of fame (for better or for worse), Murder Drones is pretty much exactly up my alley, in that I'm just a sucker for darker stories with well-placed comedic moments.
For the record, if anyone wants to watch, you definitely need to have a high tolerance for body horror to be able to watch ^^' They may be robots, but they sure get fucked up every now and then
These indie studio productions and series are gonna be both an improved quality style and surefire real pop-cultural hit over the mass-manufactured animated series by big-budget studios created just to suit their cookie-cutter quick cash grab stratagies
Just like how FNAF blew up indie gaming, Hazbin and TADC has done the same for indie animation. Really hope Long gone gulch gets a full series!

An indie cartoon I would recommend is Godspeed, it's from Olan Rogers (creator of Final Space) and it's awesome, it's not afraid to be a mature pilot episode about a young woman who is stuck on Earth that's about to be destroyed and it ends with a character that looks and sounds like a major character from Final Space, and the art style kinda reminds me of the Carmen Sandiego reboot from a few years ago
Funnily enough I cut that from this one. Definitely going on the list for next time.
@@Mannof1000Thoughts cool, other recommendations I would include are Hullabaloo (it's created by a former Disney animator), as well as some shorts like Gruff, and The Brave Locomotive

@@Mannof1000Thoughts i did mention the short Gruff, mostly because I felt personally connected to it having lost my grandfather a couple years ago when I was a kid and most recently my aunt earlier this year to cancer

Criticism for artists is how we grow as creative people.

If there's an indie show that deserves a spotlight, it would be The Earth Guy.
One of my favorit indies is "Tales of Alethrion" which is campaigning for a season 3 right now
Lackadaisy has been a Massive Inspiration for me. When the Pilot dropped I fell in Love with Rocky’s Serenade of the Mississippi. After a Decade of not Drawing I felt my drive to create come back after watching it. And now I’m working on My Own Characters and Story. I’m hoping to create my own Webcomic and see how far I can take it. And maybe with Time I can eventually create an animated series in the future. I have a Long way to go though first, but I’m determined to see my vision come to life. I’m honestly excited for the future. 💛😸😸😸💛
Port by the Sea just scratches all the right itches for me. A nautical adventure with an adorable art style and an intriguing world? Sign me up!

I'm so happy that more people are giving shout outs to indie shows, and not just the large ones.
Something I wish the larger shows would do on their social platforms is at least try to help out smaller shows by retweeting/sharing posts to help their publicity and such.
I just feel like the indie scene could already be so much better if people didn't strictly talk about what's popular and such.
Also, shout out "Our Spell binding lies" or "Murder Drones" or "The Rhino and Redbill" not entirely sure if I got the name of the last one correct or not, though I'll say it's 3D animated and such and it's really good
I hope Indie Animation soon finds proper funding or reaches that funding that it needs to flourish
There’s also Lumi and The Great Big Galaxy! It’s slowly being worked on and has shown sneak peaks of animations. Their launching their next croundfunding campain soon on Bakerkit.
You should cover the following indie cartoons:
*Battle for Dream Island:* Basically the answer to if Total Drama had objects instead of humans. The creators made it when they were 12 as well (Only 2 months away from their 13th birthday).
*Gwain Saga:* An action-adventure series that has the cutest character designs in a web cartoon. It's criminally underrated and episode 9 will be its finale so definitely check it out!
*GODs' School:* It's like if Disney made a cartoon series about greek mythology for Disney Channel.
*RWBY:* It's indie again so why not? Another action-adventure series like Gwain Saga but more darker. -I hope a Genshin Impact crossover can still happen when the new owners buy it- Actually, all of Rooster's Teeth cartoons could be considered indie now since WB is planning to sell them soon and I don't think the new owners will be Disney, Universal, or Sony.
*Hanazuki: Full of Treasures:* Not independent but it was a web cartoon that aired on UA-cam so why not? It's basically the MLP of web cartoons.
Edit: Almost forgot but *Ongezellig:* A dutch cartoon starring three adopted sisters. The main one is pretty shy.
Shadowstone Park and Charlie the Unicorn are my current favorites, both made by FilmCow.

While it's important to keep in perspective that not all indies are created equal, I also don't think it should be understated how much the audience and support for these types of animation projects have grown in such a short span of time, despite how (hell, maybe even BECAUSE of) much harsher the whole creative landscape has become. Not just in terms of the TADC-type successes, but even how the likes of "Port By the Sea" - made by an artist without an overbearing internet footprint nor years of publicly establishing itself beforehand - are getting way more views than they would have even a few years ago.
There's still a lot that needs to be figured out for it to be a more legitimate business, but seeing all that has already gone down in the indie world has provided the kind of hope that keeps myself and many others going in these times.
Yes, I’m so excited for this new series! I always love to see more people talk about indie projects, and this is a great start!
At the risk of a shameless plug, you should check out Set Sail for Candy, if nautical nonsense be something you wish.
If you plan on doing more of these then I recommend Checking out the web series No Evil. It's a series about group of Anthropomorphic spirits dealing with a genocidal kid from unleashing an all-consuming sleeping sickness from anesthetizing their world. It's set in a world reminiscent of the 1890s and it's based off of indigenous mythology mixed in with the Wizard of Oz. It may not have the best animation but the series has good writing and great characters including (but not limited to) a basilisk lizard spirit based off of Calamity Jane, a panicking rattlesnake who likes corn, a misunderstood father and a fox who takes absolutely no shits from anyone.
i suggest Spooky Month by SrPelo. its hilarious and there is a very cryptic and mysterious ARG going on behind it. definetely give it a watch, episode 6 comes out on march 31st
I don't blame cartoonist for going this route,disney,netflix,amazon and a24 seem to screw over cartoons and shorten seasons without or stupid reasons

Moral of the story:If you want to make a cartoon, make it independently online with a team.That way you can write whatever you want.And your voice actors aren’t limited to just their ethnicity.
You know because nowadays most(not all) but most people in Hollywood only want the characters to be voiced by people with the same race, gender, and sexuality as the characters.Which is stupid, who cares about that as long as their voice fits the role.
You know unless said voice actor is a terrible person.
Now I understand in live-action, the actors do need to look like the characters, but not in animation.
Im glad i got out of the cartoon community before all this indie animation stuff like hazbin hotel and digital circus got popular, cant stand these new shows.
