Thank you so much, Kelly. I am 60, just starting this WOE. It is so nice to hear this info. from older women. Wondering: do I still need supplements? D3/K2? I have been bedridden and unable to walk for a decade due to spinal arthritis. Doctors just kept giving me pills and injections. My body was deteriorating. I thought I had cancer and was dying. I gave my stuff away, thinking I am done. hahaha. Now, 2 months in with strict carnivore I can walk again and ALL my joint inflammation is just gone!! I am so grateful for you!

Dairy farmer here. We still dip our cows teat with iodine before and after milking. Never ever bleach! Cows teats are sensitive and bleach is too harsh! We always clean the iodine off the teats before milking. Our milk is tested for iodine residue as there is a real push for milk to NOT contain any iodine residue. Sounds like that “no iodine in milk” policy should be changed! BTW Dr Bright discusses iodine at the 23:00 mark.

Just ordered some Lugols 5% as I know my thyroid and adrenals are struggling. Childhood abuse has been healed on one level but the body keeps the score as one author writes. New people, please know that even "half-measures" carnivore will result in real benefits. For the last few months I've upped my meat intake and began restricting carbs to 100 a day. This is what you might call a real slacker dirty ketovore diet. Some days I'd even cheat. But despite not going full carnivore, I've found that the benefits of cutting carbs are very real. I've been counting calories for over a decade but still had a gut that just wouldn't go away. That gut is now gone and my stomach is as flat as it was when I was a teenager. I wasn't obese when I started this, but have lost 10 lbs. My joints feel way better, I have more energy, and replacing my carb-heavy diet with meat has made my appetite go way down. It used to be that I'd have to eat 2200 calories for satiety, but now I can get by on 1800 easily -- 400 fewer calories a day is a big difference for those of us who have weight to lose. I thought this carb stuff was a bunch of nonsense but boy was I wrong. I'm passing this info on to those who may be struggling with the idea of going Zero Carb. Just try to limit your carbs to 100 a day or whatever you're able to do. You may find as I did that it gets easier and easier to keep on cutting carbs, and the benefits begin right away. Believe me, you can trust what people are staying about this diet. The benefits are very real.

The information on iodine has changed my body in less than 3 weeks! I have had huge uterine fibroids and ovarian cysts for more than 20 years. I usually lose so much blood during my cycle that my doctor wanted to give me a blood transfusion and hysterectomy this past March. I refused both, went from 100% plant-based to animal-based, with organ meat, and noticed a huge difference. The vegan diet was robbing my body of nutrients and slowly killing me (my tongue had even turned dark purple--very unhealthy!!). I have spent thousands of dollars over the years trying to find natural solutions to shrinking fibroids and cysts in order to stop the heavy periods. After watching this episode, I stopped taking quercetin and added in iodine. This is the first time in my life that my cycle was normal (only a few tablespoons), instead of 13 days long and 64 Ultra pads. My whole life has been revolving around my cycle. I am so thankful to Kelly and Dr. Bright for presenting this information. I cannot believe it is working so fast!

It's nice to know that at my age (71), I don't need that much protein. I will definitely work on upping my fat intake. This will help me get enough calories too. I want to say thank you Kelly for mentioning that the people who are advocating for this high protein are younger people who are in great shape and work out consistently. It's like they've forgotten that not everyone is young. This was a load off my mind as I was worried how I was going to be able to afford 2 lbs. of proteins per day especially since I'm not that crazy about less expensive options like ground beef or eggs. 11:35 Great info about glucose/ketone ratios!! Thank you!! ❤
14:06 Weight loss starts to occur when the ratio is 80 or below. 14:19 Kelly finds smaller, more frequent meals, with less protein and more fat, usually quickly brings down the ratio.
….Dr. Bright says go by how you feel and recommends starting with what Kelly says. 11:09 3 meals a day with 25-30 grams of protein per meal (about 4 oz meat) and about double the amount of fat grams (50-60). OR, less fat or meal but snack on fat throughout the day (if you have trouble digesting it).
15:27 Don’t fast (for women)! But Fat fasting for 1-3 days can be beneficial, and your body will not feel under stress.
17:00 If weight loss isn’t occurring, your body is healing. Give it some time (at least a month!).

I had gotten sick a little over a year ago and ended up with tinnitus. I have been to the doctor and had all my blood work done they say I am healthy on paper but I am not. I have this constant buzz going on and do not know how to relieve it and lower my stress levels. I am going to start with the butter and carnivore diet and pray that this works. My house looks like a health food store I have bought so much crap that does not work for my anxiety and stress. Love this doctor she is a real blessing to all of us.

I am 57 menopause 9 years now, weight gain UNBELIEVABLE put on 8o pds, I’ve done keto diet and lost 65 pds when I was 50 and took it off plus gained back that weight plus 30 pds. So 2 weeks ago, I started keto again lost 10pds (incorporating 2 days of egg fasting) saw carnivore diet and thought I’d try it, I lost another 5 pounds in a week (started at 255, now at 240 in a week and a half) then plateaued. So I noticed, I was hungry without the fat, you get on keto. So I decided to try high fat, with protein only. So, I started out doing a 3 day fat fast and on day two, I not only broke my plateau but lost 3 pds at 237 this morning with one day to go…I made Kerry gold {salted} brown butter put into small heart mold and keep in fridge and go get one when I get hungry, delicious.. fat holds me over and keeps hunger away plus energy! Ohhh lots of water, I drink essentia has vitamins/minerals electrolytes . So I’m pretty happy so far! Very excited about carnivore ( oh cravings are gone, on keto that didn’t happen)💕💕💕💕💕💕 thank you for bringing on this Doc who understands menopause , awesomeness doesn’t describe how great this interview is, I will watch 2-3 times!

Oh my goodness, you don't know how long I've been searching and trying to make sense of this. I've been all tangled and confused about my protein/fat ratio forever. I thought I needed lots more protein, but immediately began gaining weight and that scared me. Was being told by the Keto Bros that too much fat will cause weight gain, so keep fat lower and protein high...that was just NOT working for this 55 y/o post-meno woman with fibromyalgia, hypoglycemia, and hashimoto's. I feel I've messed up my metabolism and cortisol levels from doing IF for years and it stressed my body out, so I'm starting all over and trying to heal and rebalance my hormones. I love this video! I'm not going to be afraid of "too much" fat now and won't fear lowering my protein. Thanks to you two brilliant women. Going to get Dr. Bright's book, too. 💖💖💖

I initially started eating this way about 2 weeks ago. I craved eggs more than anything so went with that. So I did that almost 3 times a day with the occasional apple in between. Bearing in mind I'm coming from quite a chickpea way of eating...
With the eggs I would have maybe 100g of butter and literally felt so well after a few days, plus I could feel myself losing, but in the end I craved the butter more than the egg itself.
This week I've moved on to other meats. More bbbe diet. But definitely need to incorporate another meal for when I work as having eggs and butter for breakfast then nothing til dinner isn't good and I feel myself fishing about for shit food.
I'm going to try . Wish me luck

Man, it's hard to be women! Too much protein? Right into glucose. Too much cortisol from stress? That scale won't budge. Too much fasting? Watch that thyroid tank. Too little iron from bad gut absorption? HA, just TRY losing weight.
SO much goes into the ideal situation for weight loss, and of course, our gender has to be on top of ALL of it. This is so refreshing and informative! Not that I'm not learning a ton from Baker, Chaffee and Saladino, but they'll never have the issues we have!

Excellent interview. Thank you for the info on fat and how much. The fat part of carivore is where I lack knowledge. The pictures of meals & butter/fat really helps out to see what we need to eat and adjust per meal. I find small meals with fat helps me to lose weight or switching to low protein (which workds but, is not satisfying) . With only 1 or 2 meals a day I lose no weight. My body just says I will slow your metabolism down to get your attention to eat more small meals LOL. I have to eat several meals with snacks to lose weight.
As for lugols iodine. I started to take this after watch Nutrition with Judy interview with Dr Brownstein and her vid with Dr Lynne Farrow. What I noticed was prior to the lugols iodine/selenium I had wrinkles on my neck area and just below the thyroid on my upper chest area. These are now gone. To me wrinkles in the neck might be a sign of thyroid issues specifically iodine deficiency.
With the pictures of Dr Bright...the things that stand out is your skin looks healthy, your skin is tight in the neck area, legs, arms & face...there is NO cellulite on your legs. You look extremely healthy. the carnvivore diet is working well for you. You look youthful.
Thank you Kelly another excellent informative interview & you too Dr Bright!!

Great information and validation for a post menopausal woman. Resistant training is so important. I think she's a new star in the carnivore space very soon:)

I was meant to watch this today. I just did 30 days of carnivore and lost 2 kilos. That was disheartening for me and honestly decided to throw in the towel and look for a diet that I would see fat loss. Today I ate some popcorn, corn tortillas and I noticed that I could not feel satisfied no matter how much I ate. I did eat steak and chicken as well. I guess I was on a verge of seeing results after I heard you say that it takes 30 days for the body to start changing. I will hop straight on the bandwagon again tomorrow and continue on the carnivore path again. I feel good, my mind is clear and depression is improved. Now I just hope that in month 2 the fat loss begins to show up. thanks for a great video.

I'm 76, 2 years plateaued at 20# over, just did 4 weeks 80/20, 4 meals carnivore (from ketovore) and also lost 4 pounds. I was following Bruno's challenge (tho probably higher carbs due to eating more HWC cuz I couldn't stomach so much butter). In the past I'd have been unhappy with 4# loss, but I'm not - I had NO cravings! I was totally satisfied, even feeling not ready for the next meal, even dropped my macros to the 120# ideal from my actual 140# ideal. AND I am more cheerful, YAY! This finally feels sustainable!!

I listened to Dr Bright on Steak and Butter Gal a little while ago and never forgot what she said about the fat(butter). I was curious and always would think about that video and this one comes up and again I'm curious and more enthusiastic about giving carnivore another try. The info covering excersise was very enlightening..thank you so much Dr Bright.

Thank you, Kelly! This doctor is brilliant and I’m jealous for all those in Dr. Bright’s area, especially in Italy. What a difference you’ve both made in my perspective and hope for continuing good results. At 74 not really overweight by more than a few pounds, the body is changing, the brain and some energy are back! Clearly, I’ve got to up my fat, now, for improved results and stamina. THANK YOU! ❤
