So glad my boy Gdranthony Kwontano did a review to this album, whilst in my opinion it isn't GD's best release it is a very nice and sentimental album. GD is a very talented musician so it's nice to see him get a Fantano review!

Jijo Moller I guess anthony can't really critique the album because the lyrics are in a language he can't understand. There are a good number of wordplay as well as symbolisms behind the lyrics which enhance the whole music ep and I don't think that people who are unfamiliar with Korean are able to recognize that.
Kar Yen he has reviewed non English pieces before. This looks more like a sponsorship promotion than anything.

LOL I thought this would be a fake review when I first saw it, but I'm pleasantly surprised! I have always been curious as to how Fantano would view Kpop. I'm not sure if Fantano remembers GD's appearances on the Skrillex and Baauer albums that he reviewed in the past. I remember him having positive things to say about GD's performance on Temple. Although I'm a huge GD fan, I thought this EP was underwhelming and lacked the creative fire of his past projects. So, I'm a little sad that this is one of Fantano's first exposures to the genre. I think he might have found that the MADE album was a fun and exciting listen.

MADE album is mostly all singles. Its a great album but not cohesive though, so I don't think he would have enjoyed it tbh. I would rather have him react to Alive album

It's trash...... fresh and hot out of the garbage... I'm Chinese, and I give them credit for experimenting Chinese rap with local dialect which creates a nice flow... but the lyrics are bad and cringy. The style and production is basically copying US rappers. Plus they are trying hard for commercial success. Within China you cant even discuss some substantial subject matter in a song... what could you expect?

despite the music part you know the beat, catchy melody, etc etc, the lyrics of all the songs in the album are actually beautifully written like he uses metaphor. and he is so extra, like in super star, he talks about how lonely being a super star is, he sings as if he talks to himself and his cat like he has no one and really is alone. behind all those upbeat music, theres so much meaning, so much details, especially the way he sings. it is how songs should be, how art should be.

Dang, Anthony needs to do more reviews where he listens to the album/ep in the video this was so cool!
I think it's important to note that the GD&TOP duo is from a few years ago in 2010... I wouldn't consider that "recent" and It didn't become rocky because of TOP's scandal. TOP was already serving his military time and GD soon to follow. I wouldn't say that GD is using his solo album to assert support for TOP either. What GD did do is rename the title track to his latest solo album to avoid adding to TOP's scandal, he also apologized to fans for TOP.

Omg if you can get Anthony to review Asian albums, then you HAVE to get his thoughts on Hyukoh because the first time I heard Hyukoh it sounded like the perfect combination of everything I ever liked put into one song (i.e. Gondry, Hookah, Wanli)!! It's hard for me to decompose everything and know exactly where all Hyukoh's influences are coming from sonically because I don't remember a lot of things/don't have a huge music knowledge in general haha. Thank you so much!!!!!!!

The horns on "Divina Commedia" reminded me of Veridis Quo - Daft Punk.
Honestly I don't think he sugarcoated this one too much, he did pretty much only say good things but only by virtue of this being a reaction and not a full-blown analysis. If you watch his twitch he tends to give new songs a lot more grace, at least in his outward commentary- case in point his feelings towards NAV being a lot lot more critical in his actual review. Furthermore he doesn't seem particularly impressed with most of the content, he's just vibin. Not to take words out of his mouth but if it was an actual review it would probably be a light 6 or smth? tran-
