This album was released in Pendrive form. Many media and fans said that this album will be flop and Korea music copyright association did not count this album as album. But after super success he made everybody quiet.
Divina Commedia/ divine comedy is from narrative poem of dante alighieri (dantes inferno who literally walk thru hell and back)

Idk if you know this already but during his third grade year, G-Dragon was introduced by his friend to the American rap group Wu-Tang Clan. Influenced by that, he developed interest in rapping and began taking classes. Even until today in the podcast he did, he still named Wu-Tang Clan as few people that influence him. Thats why you will notice a lot of hip hop influence in his mv or the type of sounds he released.
ah .. not your fault but I wish you experienced the Album with better translations 😭, those videos have really rough translations and sometimes even wrong and ruin the entire meaning of the sentences, they only have a lot of views because they were the fastest posted

Let me tell u, its hard to understan GD lyrics specially for foreign cuz he always play with korean words or use a uniqe words even some korean doing their best to find what the mean behind his songs & people always amazed with that cuz he is a real genius

I remember when this album dropped. I really liked it then, and gave it a listen recently - still slaps! I know Jiyong has been through a lot, so I just hope he's doing well these days & is happy.

He talked about how he feels when other idols saying they got the swag in a track with Psy called Fact Assault .
No one explained in English the multiple meanings of his lyrics. When I saw someone explaining the lyrics he wrote in Chinese, I was surprised, he is more genius than imagined. Especially the lyrics of , so ingenious! It's a song that makes underground rappers pay tribute
If you watch BIGBANG the Beginning or their guesting on HAPPY TOGETHER, he mentioned that YG asked him to compose 2 or 3 songs every night when he was still a trainee at 13. He started with SM at 8 years old.
Anyway, that’s the reason it’s a little easy for him to compose songs. He was asked to be a guest artist on the famous variety show Infinity Challenge several times and partnered with their cast to create songs. He did it 3 times and all songs became a hit in Korea. He created the songs at around 2-3 days and he always tailored it after the personalities of the cast. Hope you get to watch any of those

That was one of the first k pop albums I bought.
This is GD's most in-depth album, with Dante's "Divine Comedy" as the main line, telling his philosophy of life. The album shows Kwon jiyong's true attitude, towards anti-fans, towards life, towards himself, towards his lover. Some people say that this album is not as good as before, I don't think so, I think it is more intriguing. Similarly, I recommend GD’s dark trilogy , which also has strong emotions.

Always assume that English translation of BIGBANG or G-Dragon's songs isn't going to be correct. And its not always going to be even close to 70% correct since they always add extra meaning to the lyrics. They prefer fans to enjoy their music and maybe hope that they can relate it to their everyday life experience.
Also, the song Untitled 2014 was about the Jp-Kr model/actress Kiko. The special girl his deluded fans and Koreans hated and harassed.
this album would have crushed the album sales but they didn't count it because of its packaging format 😂

Untitled is not a song about the top😩 . It's a song about his Japanese ex-girlfriend. He just renamed it because of the top scandal

everytime i remember about the truman show reference in divina commedia it breaks my heart, g-dragon is a genius for knowing how to express his feelings in such a unique and artistic way, i'm glad he shares his talent with the world but damn i feel so bad for him for going through so much shit... he seems to be doing way better now and i hope he continues finding happiness ❤️

1st song -- i think it was a too literal translation and the nonsense words were onomatopoeia.
about untitled 2014 -- the general speculation, is that it was written in 2014 and only released in 2017, and that it was about kiko (gd's on and off friend/girlfriend, a japanese model). while not about TOP specifically, as you said, the lyrics also fit the situation in 2017 (as we now know, TOP tried to you know what after the marijuana scandal with a girl who's been known to bait celebs and spread malicious rumors). they decided to put it in because they thought that the sad song went with the somber tone of that time.
commenting too much is also not good, our audience also wants to enjoy what you listen to

If you want to really understand the lyrics watching lyric videos on YT won't help you. I think it is better to find translation by fans in TW who really goes deep with the puns. Korean rap translated in English most of the time doesn't make sense.
Haha don’t read the lyrics. They make no sense. You can never directly translate his lyrics to English bc it’s too full of Korean proverbs and references
