to mention to the chat, The Verminlord first appeared in 4th edition. I know. I still have my copy of the 4th edition Skaven army book. The model back then was metal, and about the same size as the Rat ogres.
@@mattruecker5861 There were no army books for fantasy 2nd edition. That was like 1984-1986. I don't think the 3rd edition skaven list had a verminlord either. There is an 80s warlord model called "verminlord" but that is just a dude not a huge daemon.
The dreaded 13th first appeared in the 7th edition Skaven army book, which was one of the last army books before the release of 8th and arguably already designed for 8th's mechanics.
a version of the dreaded 13th appeared much earlier than 7th edition. it first worked on a model by model basis, which meant you rolled for each model in the unit; some would be changed to clanrats, some not. It would then become 2 different units, and engaged in hand to hand combat. The new version that appeared in 7th only replaced models with clanrats if the whole unit changed. Otherwise the models were just destroyed. Not so for the original version of the spell, which was called "Curse Of The Horned Rat".
Luka shooting all his anti-infantry shots into the T6 monster and then getting all surprised and depressed to the point of essentially wanting to give up when nothing happened made me depressed and frustrated... Also curious at how the LoC saved the wound from the Warlords Weeping Blade. (Pretty sure it can't, so that would be D3 wounds on the LoC and an additional D3 extra CR for Luka in that fight, which would've had a big impact on the game: Soul Grinder would've died 1 round sooner and the LoC would probably be dead, meaning Luka would've had a big chance of winning the game instead of giving up in frustration...)
yeah, shooting all those shots into the S6 monster wasn't a very good idea, IMO. He wasn't the appropriate target for those shots. Not even the warp lightning cannon is good for that, as it only does 1 wound now.
Skaven also benefit from now from taking units of giant rats as speed bumps to run up the board there are so many ways that just in this game with a few tweaks the skaven could have taken it but like buddy said in the beginning he just wants to go up the board and bang out. Played the skaven like dwarfs lol I could see how you could think that at first
Okey so page 150 rulebook 'Excess Casualties' states that extra casualties beyons first rank reduse supporting attacks, leading me to believe that normal support attacks can be made if only the front rank is slain.
You two have a great rapport and are entertaining to watch. Many skaven lists use either thr bell or furnace and have a shooty list. Would be great to showcase a melee list with skirmishers and skaven slave replacements* for distraction and deplaying part of the enemy force. * Giant rats (3pts) and clan rats (4pts) can be used like slaves used to (although you can't fire into combat). Skaven still jave issues with monsters, particularly dragons. It would be interesting to hear your thoughts on this. I'm going to try out 2 warlords, one suicidal with the fellblade (in stormvermin with a chieften with skavenbrew) and a generalist warlord with ogre blade snd 4+ ward.
"Shooting sucks" Proceeds to shoot the anti infantry weapon into a monster 🤦 Yeah...Skaven need a lot of thinking I guess... You also did too many shots with your Globadiers. Skirmisher modells still block LOS meaning, you need to place them in checkerboard formation to enable the back rank to shoot.
Yeah I love Luka but that was genuinely painful to watch. Pouring all that S4-S5 shooting (and random S cannon) into a T6-target and then going *surprised pikachuface* when nothing happens... Imagine if he had targeted the T3-Horrors or T4-Flamers instead...wounds on 2s and 3s and ignoring their ward.
@@MinscS2 I think the ratling isn't magical anymore but more wounds equal more chances for the demons to fail their saves :D I aslo don't get why he didn't move the Stormvermin up more aggressively and let them get cooked and pounded by the Soulgrinders ranged...
I'm not sure if you did the poison wind globadiers backfire correctly. First, you roll to hit as normal. If you roll any ones, you reroll those dice. If you roll ones again, then you do D3 hits to the globadier unit. The second roll represents their gas mask protection.
I keep coming back to watch but the fluctuations in voice volume take me out looking for another bat rep supplier almost immediately. Wonder if you guys have thought about having mics or something to control the output volume of excited voices? Not trying to start a fight as I'm keen to watch these batreps but i struggle with the volume constantly changing.
I don't understand how Characters on Chariots work. Does anyone know? Are they replacing one crew member as before, do you add their Wounds to the profile? Toughness? Thx.
The rules for chariot characters are on page 205 of the big book, but I'll answer the questions you've got here. They do not replace a crew member. You add the wounds of the chariot and the character together. You use the best Toughness of either character or chariot. So a Beastlord on Tuskgor Chariot has three riders (the two crew of a normal chariot and the character), 7 wounds (chariot's 4, lord's 3) and uses the lord's Toughness of 5 (over chariot's T4)
Also i have another question. i can't find anywhere mentioning if a character inside a unit can change position in the unit while the unit is moving or before a unit moves or when a unit ends its movement.
Wholeheartedly disagree, they are imo way too sci-fi for the setting, and completely over the top, conceptually. Besides, the lore states that *during the end times* Skrolk and whichever Skryre engineer teamed up to create them, following a joint development period of trial and error. The circumstances for their development were simply not present during the time of the old world.
@@TheVacationist I just love the idea that clan moulder were producing rat ogers and clan scryer were buying them and reconstructing into controlled warmaschines. Im not sure when thanquall appeared but the whole stormfiends shenenigans suits skaven everywhere
The rattling gun is not the support weapon you want to take you would have benefit from a plauge priest with demonology a unit of plauge monks and a plauge claw catapults for the big pie plate . You could have put an assassin in a unit of giant rats with a brass orb and ran up on the dammed monster and hit it on like a 3 and removed it from play because of its poor i just a sppedbump for learning how the skaven are gonna play
Some really bad habits being used during movement. Just eying the wheel, just means you end up cheating. Almost an hour and a half before you get into combat....
Hello, random question. I can't find anywhere in the book how regular building works. I know they are impassable terrain but how many models can be placed inside? I see you can place 10 models inside a tower but how many models can you out inside a regular building?

How does the chariot caster target the globadiers? They are behind a woods terrain feature. That blocks line of sight.

Also it only says if a natural one is rolled, roll a d6, not roll a d6 for every one
Luka has a point Steve, when it comes to the Hammerers/Longbeards kings etc. Lore trumps meta/mechanics/optimization

Luka, you should look at the dice more before you pick them up, your Ratlings hit and wounded quite a bit more than what you rolled/said.
usually not bad these, but showed such disrespect for both armies was hard to watch
