yes. I agree. big units for clanrats are important. they're only t3 with at best a 5+ save. They die easily. you need the numbers for warband and horde rules. Dwarfs, on the other hand, have much better armor and toughness. They are more survivable than Skaven.
Lots of Skaven units, but too small in size Luka. You need bigger unit sizes to stand up to armies with higher WS T S LD. As your leadership will always let you down unless you try and procure points from combat results through ranks from Horde and consider improving LD from Warband which is based on ranks. Warband gives you +1 leadership per rank up to 10 LD... you should have Vermintide style units that have mass of numbers and think of that unit pulling a Screaming bell with a Seer for the Scurrying Masses rule.
well, they were playing corehammer in this case; 75% of the points had to be in core. only 25% for characters; that's 500pts in this case. I don't even know if he could field a Grey seer on a screaming bell. But I agree; you need big units for Skaven, as they die easily. Numbers is where their advantage is.
My lot have been giving the following a go for 500 points on a 4x4 board, very fun so far: 1 Hero, no BSB (135pts max for TK) 1 Rare or Special 125pts max unit cost for all units
Feels like the lack of magic really hurt the skaven here. A grey seer with battle magic for ward saves and curse of arrow attraction would have helped immensely in the range dueling. Or daemonology for demonic vigor and daemonic vessel would have allowed those stormvermin and clanrats to punch up much more effectively in melee. Rats have a significant initiative advantage. An extra strength, ap, and attack with halberds that also give ap and strength means the stormvermin could do enough damage that dwarfs can't even hit back.
When failing a charge you only move equal to the ***charge roll*** (unless in terrain the highest of the two D6's rolled for the charge). p. 121 "A unit that makes a failed charge has started towards the enemy, but is unable to cover the distance. The warriors in the unit simply lose impetus. If a unit makes a failed charge it moves directly towards the target a distance equal to the result of the Charge roll, wheeling as required."
I believe it mentions somewhere that if you fail a charge roll due to a Flee!! Charge reactions, you go the full charge roll! Can't remember page number though!
@@lukapavicevic335 Page 129 third paragraph of running down the foe. It also states that the unit has not made a failed charge, the enemy unit ran away. What I do not understand is Why they added both dice. and the dwarf unit made an 11" charge..... you just take the dice with the highest result and at it to the Movement characteristic of the unit. which would be 9" total.
Luca needs to play a Strigoi themed vampire counts army, play them kinda like Flesh Eater courts from AoS, so only Strigoi, ghouls, crypt horrors, varghulfs, terrorgheists, and maybe vargheists to count as crypt flayers
@@lukapavicevic335 makes sense, and it probably loses a lot of what is really good about vampire counts unfortunately, but just sounds like it makes for a fun narrative. But at least in the current edition ghouls are full undead so you can bring them back 😅
You do not count as charging when you pursue an enemy that has fallen back in good order. You only count as charging when youpursue into a fresh enemy.
the amount of -1 to hit for ranged attacks is a bit to much for my taste. makes shooting feel like a afterthaught that you just sprinkle here and there rather than a actual valid tactical choice. there should be a healthy middle ground of shooting being useless and supressive.
That is a tiny amount of rats for corehammer XD I was expecting like 5 blobs of 40 clanrats

You need enough rats such that after the 1st round combat resolution they still have 4 ranks.

I just wanted to bring 5 Ratling Guns!
I finally got to play a small 500 point game of ToW. We both only did character, basic unit of core, and double sized unit of core.

The angles and production is fantastic. Thank you! Khazuk!
This game was AWESOME! 😃 Please do more corehammer. ❤
Blunderbuss does not care about your range! If the air is made of lead, the enemy can't breath
The Skaven motto is "to hell with statistical probabilities". Or, "It's the great Pumpkin Charlie Brown!"
Wow! Those dwarfs are beautifully painted!
Just bought tomb kings set… first edition of fantasy so… got a lot to learn lol, more 40K or Munda normally
How does dwarf infantry charge 11 inches????
My only thought would be talk about wizard vs no wizard going forward. That way it's more even
Qq - when the first one reacted as fleeing, wouldn't that had done panic checks to all surrounding units? Just learning the game😅
There is a actual skaven BSB model but he only came in the big army box as a bonus iirc. I still have one that needs to be built and painted.
Yup. That’s my White Whale model. Goes for like ~60$ on Ebay. Bit too much.
@@GodrockTadaka pretty sure I paid about 80a few months ago
The rats must pay. Let them come. One wrong put right. But The Great Book of Grudges... remains full!
Great video as always, you 2 crack me up and look forward to more!
New merch idea… a LED light up that says, “That’s fair”. 😂
Loved it. Also one of my favorite matchup
Could see ratling guns being good against any T3 armies
Long Beards could have gave ground because of the shieldwall rule. I know you felt bad for Luca but don't just give up dwarven lives like that
Why don't the weapon's teams suffer -1 to shoot for moving?
Ratling guns have Quick Shot
I would love a campaign!
Cant you make few Battles with Bretonnia VS other melee fraction like chaos warriors, beastmens? 🔥🔥 cavalery VS cavalery/monsters

I think he once said that he doesn't like Strigoi too much.
I have played this army once before on MWG! I plan on doing it again, but my god am I bad at it!

i can bring 300 night goblins to the table and thats just 1 army lol oh and just the night goblins hahaha
Comment comment, flee flee!
Comment-speak, Flee flee!
Wrong Dwarves 🎩👹
👍
Man I hate free content (particularly the angle) but love commenting about it!

false. read page 157, first subheadding

someone took an all shooting dwarf army to a tournament and won. mordian glory i believe.
GG
i still havn't seen a succesful shooting skaven build it seems too unreliable
Have you seen a succesful Skaven melee build though??
@@isakjohansson112 nope
I like Corehammer. Or atleast play some games with 50% Core..
