    According to some reports kawasaki will be using the same engine.. only question is if they'll tweak with the engine like give it an extra stroke numbers which is way easier to do than to increase the bore...
    Engine wise the 1043cc is already a proven engine its just that the tune is always "tamed" and prioritized reliability...
    well, I just wish they make it alteast 150bhp

    Would really love to see that larger 1100 make its way down into the RS models. And upgraded z900rs with extra CC’s would be sick. Maybe just name it the Z1 like its namesake

    If the super comfortable Versys had the same performance as the 1000sx I would have bought it. Gave up comfort for performance and bought the 1000sx.

    I was on the fence if I should get the current model or wait and see if they will release a redesign. But now I am glad I went with the 2023 leftover model and it´s tried and true engine and tech. Buying a first generation of anything is always a recipe for problems.

      Kawasaki are pretty damn good at doing testing of new engines. And it’s an incremental change not a brand new technology. I’d be happy with any Kawasaki to be honest. Never had probs with them. My last 2 bikes were Kaw.

      @@GodzillaGoesGaga I also had 2 Kawis (Z650 & Z900) also problem free, and am now getting a third. It is not just about the engine, any first generation has some issues that get ironed out over the next few revisions. The first Z900 generation had an issue with the rear suspension mounting point and had to be recalled. It got resolved for the next year.

    The Kawi 1000SX now 1100cc will loose some HP. Down to 133hp.So the Versys will gain hp. From 118hp to 133bhp will have 112nm. Seems to me Kawasaki decided to have just one motor and tune for both bikes. Makes sense. 3mm longer stroke and air intakes are longer. Bigger ports and lower lift cams. Heavier flywheel and a secondary balancer. Better quick shifter that can now work at 1500rpm's. Rear sprocket less one tooth and a longer 5th and 6th gear for touring/open roads. Rear brake disk is bigger by 10mm=260mm. I always said the Versys 1000 need 130hp and 110nm of torque hence the fact that I chose the SX. Well now I got it. Seems to me I will now have to speak to the bank manager.

    I don't know why either, I've read somewhere, it's also a few HP lower.

    I've settled on the Z900 for my next bike but I cant get one till next year (being smart about my finances) but I haven't heard a peep on weather or not the '25 Z900 is even in the cards. It's odd because Kawasaki has released colorways for most of their bikes besides the SX and Z900 (even the Z650 got colors released) so I wander if it's going to be redesigned along with the SX.

      @@andrewhopson9777 Yeah despite my last comment I'm going to look at 24 Z900 on Tuesday for $8k. No matter what the next iteration of the Z will be one thing is guaranteed, it's going to be more than that. I'll take basic and cheap vs fancy and expensive any day..

      @@andrewhopson9777 Going to look at a '24 z900 Tuesday. It's on sale for $8k and that's pretty damn good. Despite what the next Z will be one thing is undoubtedly certain, it will be more expensive, probably by thousands. There's a poetic beauty about simple and cheap vs cutting edge and expensive. I'll take simple and cheap every time.

      @@andrewhopson9777 I have heard that too thats why despite my previous comment I'm going to look at '24 on Tuesday. If the next iteration will be an 1100 it will no doubt compete with the MT-10 in features and price. The one I'm looking at is on sale for $8k in the red/black colorway so it's kind of a hard deal to pass up.

  • @brettdavis80
    @brettdavis80 Місяць тому

    Wow, Kawasaki is gonna take the 1043 engine and bump it up to 1100cc. Very simple, just change the numbers on the fairing to 1100 from 1000, and keep the same 1043 engine. Kinda like Suzuki did with the Bandit 1200. Take the original GSXR 1100 engine and put it in a standard steel tube bike frame and round up the engine displacement to 1200cc.
    I bet if I look at the part numbers of the camshafts for the Versys 1000 and 1000SX, they will be different. Hmm, kinda like what Suzuki did in putting a different profile camshaft in the Bandit 1200 as opposed to the GSXR 1100.
    Before you all get yourselves all knotted up, I owned a 2003 Suzuki Bandit 1200 naked for 4 years, and I currently own a 2016 Versys 1000.
    For what it’s worth, I have also owned a 1987 Kawasaki EX500 and a 1988 Kawasaki GPX750 😂

    new 1100 must produce at least 180bhp just to stay relevant in the 25th year of 21st century....

    • @EfferusZangetsu
      @EfferusZangetsu 2 місяці тому +6

      Why? Where are you going to use that 180 bhp? 140 on the current model is already more than enough. If you really want more you always have the H2 SX.

    • @michaelarchangel1163
      @michaelarchangel1163 2 місяці тому +1

      Not a chance of that happening. It'd be too close to the ZH2's 197 BHP output, so who'd be daft enough to shell out the extra money for 17 BHP on a heavier bike ?

    • @AST4EVER
      @AST4EVER 2 місяці тому +1

      @@EfferusZangetsu because these bikes loose upto 20% of their "Declared Power" on road. And I'm saying "relevant" because other such bike from Suzuki make more than it from 40+ less CC's so.... they should compete with the new contender in the block where only it reined for a long time....

      Exactly how fast is fast enough. I highly doubt you can tell the difference between 140 and 180. People generally get tunnel vision once they get up to 110. Unless you are riding in the middle of the desert, at 150 you can not look at anything other than what is in front of you.
