I have a sensation that if triumph made a bike for evry 10 HP this video would be just a triumph video.
Yeah, thats a GREAT bike. 😄👍
130 HP = So many great options! ZX6R (636), Speed Triple 1050, MV Agusta 675, Triumph Daytona 765, GSXR 600 (125HP), Triumph Sprint GT, Aprilia RSV Mille
Daytona gang all day
even the z900 comes close
Yamaha FJR1300 produces *on a dyno at the rear wheel on regular gas* makes around 128 hp.
@@johncasteel1780 No one gives a single fuck
seems like if there was ever an option that wasn't a Japanese bike or supersport/supersport-derived-naked-bike then he just went with the alternatives instead.
in 40hp class you could put zx25r too.. that bike def has a lot of character bcs of the inline-4 and fun factor. not mentioning their reliability too since it’s a kawi
I dont think we can get that here in the US but its such a cool looking bike. Like those high revving little bikes from the 90s
Me personally for the 40hp range I'd pick the r3 it makes 42hp and is a really fun bike for city roads
@@DRat_ in most reviews the ktm 390 comes out on top vs r3 z400 cb300 etc. Has better low end and still, matches the others by being bit over 40hp
@@chrishart8548 I think I'm just bias with the r3 because I currently have one. I think if you where to pick the r3, Duke 390, z400 you'll have a dun time.
Gonna pick r3 and ktm everyday!
May be because I'm in to Supersport more, I think you actually tried to avoid Supersport bikes here.
So this list is more like best classic/retro/cruiser/naked bikes in every 10 hp
It's what's his channel focuses on. I mean, just look.
I definitely feel the same way, I wish he emphasized that they were his favorite and not labeled the video as "best" when he wasn't being very objective. I could tell when he brought up the fz07 and then said the v7 was better, which was completely subjective.
Yeah this guy is way too biased to be making videos like this.
@@theyeetus1428 he said “motorcycles that i would pick” in the first 20 seconds of the video lmao 😂
@@zolokill1182 Then it's clickbait
The 50 hp segment (47 HP, 35 kW) is one the most important segments in Europe. It's the A2 license limit. The other important segment, the one that you missed, is the 11kw (14,7 HP and 125 cubic centimeters). Those two segments have so much options available the it's almost impossivel to pick just one.
Honda CB650R A2 35kW restricted has a lot of potential!
new title : best triumph and mv agusta
For the 20 hp range, you could've also included the Royal Enfield Meteor 350, which shares the same engine, frame, and brakes with the Classic 350. The Classic 350 IS coming to the US, BTW! RE says it'll be here in time for the riding season on the Mainland. Unfortunately, we won't be getting all five trims and all 11 colors that are sold in India.
Bt u guys wil get a btr build quality and reduced vibration,, obviously it wil increase the price
For 20, the Honda CB 350 (Launched in India last year) is the best bike out there for if you're not looking into sportbikes.
Better than classic 350 in almost every way. Suspension is stiffer than Meteor/Classic and it can be a good or a bad thing according to your riding style and tarmac conditions.
Bro try riding a meteor where there is no tarmac and you will know why it isn't on the list
When is the riding season in USA? Do you know when exactly will it be coming?
20 hp i would go aprilia rs 124
I have interceptor and they are great.
I've just bought it so can't really say pros and cons for now except slight uncomfortable for pillion when it comes to sitting position or footpeks (typo). It's smooth and easy to ride.
I hope I'll enjoy this bike as much as I thought I would. Definitely looking forward to it.
I've been using for 1.5 years. Very reliable and fun motorcycle with some ergonomic issues. I'm super happy with it.
650cc bike producing 50 hp is very shameful tho
@@hrisikeshbhattacharya5467 kawasaki w800 produce 50bhp, harley iron 883, 883 cc bike produce near 47 bhp. Read low compression engine
@@hrisikeshbhattacharya5467 plus, I don't think paying 7+lakh for just few bhp is good option. Also, no bike manufacturer beats RE in after sales service.
@@vivekbisht2721 3 year warranty is the best part, especially here in the US. My odometer broke after a year, though fixed itself on the way to the shop. I still got it replaced. I traded it in recently. Always had a bit of a rumble/wobble when going at highway speeds because of the high height I feel. Don't have the issue on my Z650.
My 120 would've been without a doubt the xsr900. Those triples sound, japanese reliability, and my personal favorite around $12k American keeps my cheap ass happy 😂.
Plus the two brothers exhausts are affordable as well.
Bro the best 120 is the street triple..
So pretty much the triumph catalogue.
Love the really old look of the Royal Enfield Classic 350, must get one at some point!
Amazing it's only 20hp for a 350cc. I thought only harley Davidson could do that low amount. Bet even if the pistons were made of wood 20hp would be achieved
@@chrishart8548 cc is not all about hp. Companies like RE, HD makes long stroke bikes which make torque way earlier in their rev range than their competitors.
@@kailashmanikandan5882 I guess it's like the equivalent of 60hp from a 1050cc sounds like what harley Davidson would do.
If I could pick a single bike on this list I'd go for the Royal Enfield classic 350. Looks absolutely gorgeous. The older I get I keep having more and more fun on slower bikes, it's a beautiful thing, I smell the air and I see the scenery, it's no longer just a blur, I'm in it.
Come in India. They are everywhere. Literally. Old, new, you name it. Bullet, Electra, Classic, Thunderbird, Meteor, Himalayan, Interceptor, Continental GT. 350, 411, 500, 535, 650.
In India, we keep a Royal Enfield for generations 💯
@@anirbanseal5704 we have these bikes but not much places to smell the air and enjoy the scenery.
we still do have a lot of places to enjoy tho , india is a BIG country . but yeah i get what u mean people shouldnt ruin the scenery with wastes
@@RajShekhar-jy2zi yeah there are spaces to enjoy, but it's not fun when you have to go 1000km to get good scenery.
My INT650 is a amazing bike for the price point and some really basic mods make it even more of a value. Change the mufflers and add a high flow air filter totally changes the bike
A great classic bike in the 20hp range is the RD125 twin. 17hp at 9500rpm. This was the only 125 that was freeway legal in California when it was introduced. Its fantastic handling and amazing power made it a perfect track bike in the late 1970’s. Took 1st place in the 125 Production Class of AFM road racing in 1977. Well mannered and great fun sleeper.
Royal Enfields are reliable (however you need to take care of it), it is fun to ride if you don't ride in the city (don't even get me started with false neutrals). The bike is certainly a great (if not best) bike to have especially the newer ones, but don't get it if you are in your 20's and want to use it as a daily driver 80% of the time. It is a unique experience, but there are massive downsides.
What kind of downsides. I'm 18 and looking to buy one . ?
@@ffskrishna I own a Continental GT650 and I haven't found anything wrong with it. Though it does take a little figuring out to put a phone mont on it but other than that it's a great bike. I would definitely recommend the RE 650 twins as a first bike for any beginner or even experienced riders looking for something fun and cheap.
@@ffskrishna I had a bullet 500 efi from 2009 as my first bike. It was slow and had plenty of torque. I ran into a few issues with it one where it wasn't idling at a high enough rpm but I adjusted that with an 8mm socket. They are great little bikes if you live somewhere where you aren't going to go fast. 45 is the max speed it wants to go. But if you are okay with that, they are cool bikes to have that perform well enough and get plenty of comments and thumbs up from people who are bombers or into classic bikes.
That's a list for a granny or granddad, where is 636, where is r3, where is ninja 400, where are the best bikes out there?
where is the 110hp Kawasaki 900 RS?
Yep. Almost perfect bike. If only had it some good saddlebag solution. Would have put Ninja 1000 to the list as well, but I guess Kawasaki was completely excluded this time as were all off road capable bikes.. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
At the 160hp range I kind of respect your Rocket pick, but it's pretty niche. The Yamaha MT-10 is far and away the better option - complete bonkers crossplane sound like the R1, yet far more usable and an absolute wheelie machine.
160hp on a short wheelbase 🤔 The avg rider would live in nervous fear of a Yamaha MT10. If they were smart, but if they were still in their 20s then it's a murdercycle . They'd live longer on that 2liter triumph.
I got Trident at 80hp, quite charismatic and beautiful.
At 50 horsepower I would pick ktm 450 exc or ktm 300 exc. They have almost half the weight compared to traditional streetbike, so almost double the power to weight ratio ;) and at 70 horsepower definitely husqvarna 701. At 110 HP I would choose mt09. And at 200 hp maybe s1000rr or any superbike you like. Just my opinion.
BMW R-NineT could be a good option in the 110bhp range, its a great looking neo-retro
No fuel gauge. Lol.
I am still fighting the good fight for the 30 hp Suzuki LS650 P Savage. I rode one for 5 years. They have been around since the late '80s. 27" seat, 352 lbs. Torquey thumper. Not slow! Flickable. It has morphed into the S40 that I don't like only for it's looks...but same bike. 94x94mm.Belt drive. 75 mph all day--no problem. Beats the Rebel for a first bike you will still ride after a year, imo. And I ride a '99 Magna. Ride safe.
I love my CBR650R, which falls in the 90hp area with 94hp. Good commuter, rides highway fine, and still fun to rip around on aggressive roads (I took mine to the Tail of the Dragon and it was a blast)
How’s it in the city ? Is it heavy when manoeuvring through traffic
@@lilnips I’ve had it since pretty much the day the model was available in the US (so mid/late 2019) and put over 13000mi on it now. I barely notice the weight. It’s not much heavier than the Ninja I had previously, and it’s balanced pretty well imo so riding around in the city isn’t bad. I’ve used mine around in Boston and NYC for reference of what I mean when I say city.
I live in NH though, so primarily riding is a bit more rural, but more woods rural than plains rural. If I was in the city 100% of the time a 300 would prob be plenty, but if you know you’re going to leave the city enough to really hit the road, then imo the 650 is a perfect bike.
@@Shadowfeaux honestly that’s some sound advice. I really like the cb650r but I don’t see myself doing any touring or highways much. As you said, riding prominently around the city, I might need smaller bikes, like the Husky 401 but I doubt KTMs in general for their reliability. Maybe the rebel 500 but damn that’s a funny looking bike 😩 Royal Enfields aren’t available here yet and Triumphs are expensive. Probably a used fz07 they look sick
@@lilnips My Coworker had a Rebel 500 as his first bike. Iirc he only sold it because he lived 40min by highway away from work. Tbh I think he thought he'd save $ on gas with it, but wasn't enough of a bike guy to want to ride it often enough to justify it.
I loved the Ninja 300 I had first. I think I read either Kawa or Honda was going to bring back an updated version of one of their old 4cyl 250 or 300cc bikes, that sounds like itd be awesome.
I had a DRZ400S for a while, great bike, but lose the advantage of fuel injection. If you want that route I'd suggest more the Supermoto style unless you think you'd actually use it off road enough to justify street legal trail tires (dunno where you are and what your rules are).
Couple friends have had various versions of the FZs and haven't heard any complaints, so that's a good thing.
@@Shadowfeaux Kawasaki made a new I4 250, the ZX25R. But unfortunately it looks like it will only be available in limited markets. Honda made their updated CBR 250RR a few years ago and it has a parallel twin. Given that they made a new bike already with that name, plus how much the bean counters have taken over, I doubt we'll get anything else from honda.
Never thought I would hear Duke 390 and reliable in the same sentence. Would rather get an R3/MT03 in the 40hp segment.
Yep, great to see my F3 at the top of the 150 range. I love mine and completely agree that the F4 is a dream bike. Hopefully they’ll bring it back into production soon
I own a Guzzi V7. When I was deciding I rode both the Triumph and the Guzzi. Both nice, but different. What I find surprising here is that you are recommending bikes that you have not ridden. And you use absolute terms like - "definitely the one to get." The videos are entertaining but I hope people do not assume that there is a lot of expertise and experience involved. Best to go to Peter Egan for that.
First, I love these videos from Bart. Each one is entertaining and interesting to watch. My comment concerns ride by wire, because many people don't understand the technology. In addition to motorcycles, I also have extensive experience with Remote Controlled Aircraft, both airplanes and helicopters. By there very nature, they are all fly by wire. With RC aircraft, you can design you own throttle curve. If that curve is perfectly linear, it will perfectly mimic a throttle cable. With motorcycles, the manufacturer will use a ride by wire to comply with emission regulations so that in lower gears you can't get Wide Open Throttle, or WOT. So ride by wire might not be intuitive, but it has a purpose which is lower emissions. If you could map your own throttle curve on a motorcycle, you could exactly match what you used to get with a throttle cable. In other words, it's not that ride by wire isn't intuitive, it depends on how it's mapped. If ride by wire is mapped linear, it's exactly the same as a cable.
Have any of the manufacturers whose bikes feature in this video sponsored you in any way?
For 70hp if you want a retro look you can always go for the XSR700 or the SV650X
Which are both far better options. Not only do they actually last a long time, the Yamaha CP2 engine has the best sound in the segment and is as popular as it is for a very good reason. He just had to choose that bike because he wanted to put something different instead, but there's a reason those choices are more popular. There's no point in getting a short lasting Italian experience if its style oriented rather than speed oriented.
Hero Splendor is the most reliable motorcycle in 10horsepower category 🔥🔥
I agree. But Splendor is not available in the western market. So the person who made this video does not know about it.
TVS Raider 125 with 11bhp is also a good option👌
@@amalkumar2775 brother, even raidar is not available in western market
What about the Duke 125?
Where are the little pocket rocket bikes from the 90s? Honda CBR250rr, Kawasaki ZXR250, Suzuki GSXR250 and Yamaha FZR250 are all 4-cylinder 250cc screamers with just about the same configuration and output between them. Best of all, they all rev between 18k to 20k so people will definitely hear you coming!
Also between 40-50hp the similar 400cc bikes are a ton of fun, still take my ZXR400 or VFR400 for a spin from time to time.
I cant see the link to the MV documentary you mentioned. Btw. Best bike 70 bhp Ducati monster 695. I would like to see a similar video (with a lot of honoral mentions) of not New bikes. Great video👍👍👍
Just added it. Sorry!
@@bartmotorcycle Excellent! I will watch it now👍😀
I believe that you ain't done the homework for the vedio you forgot about cbr 650s zx6r and everything else
What waste of time. The video should have been called everything from Triumph.
R15v3 or mt15 is best bike in 20hp range it can beat anything in its segment with its vva fuel efficiency and top speed with a very reliable engine ❤
Absolutely
Yes but they are not international bikes.
"Every Triumph and a few stand outs for every 10 horsepower" fixed the title for ya
Good list! The V7 is the one I’d pick but I’d be happy to own any of them except the Rebel; the CB300R suits that engine but the Rebel needs the 500 if not the 1100 engine.
the rebel was released last year I believe revamped with both of the engines you listed!
@@shanehubbard649 You’re quite right. I took a test ride on the 500. Great engine but the riding position sends bumps to your spine.
@@Rick-ve5lx yeah I'd imagine, I have a vtx 1800 though. Wouldn't bother with the rebels anyways
Trimph is smiling at you... I'm more into Honda... "on day, you're gonna have one", saida a famous publicity of the 80's - I had 2, and I can confirm that it has all you want of a famous brand... Meanwhile, greetings from Algarve, Silves city - south of Portugal, everyone!
So a 19 minute video of you recommending motorcycles you've never ridden..
just keep on grinding, dont stop.the commentary quality is on point
say the line bart
Glad I found your channel, really enjoyed this video. You should do more list videos for sure! Could you please do the best bikes in each class from the 80’s, 90’s, 00’s. Good bit of content there for you
I have heard Yam speak up euro snobs and after watching this feel you fit the bill. Great video but could be a promo for Triumph lol now I need to check out your other stuff
The longest MV Augusta commercial I’ve ever seen.
Title should be: Best LOOKING motorcycles for every 10 hp. Let’s be honest there are better bikes that are cheaper than those mentioned, they just don’t have that finesse
I just found this channel and really like your vibe, and taste in motorcycles.
My buddy has that RE interceptor and it’s awesome
one thing holding back the enfield bikes .. both the new 350cc singles and the 411cc singles and the 650cc twins are the camshafts.. A UK developer have made new camshaft on the 411cc single and the 650cc twin and with the new camshaft and with a better (and lighter) exhaust , better airf-filter the bikes gained 20% more power on the dynometer. bhp tuning in UK got 49.2 bhp on the dyno on the interceptor 650 with some mods..
Now do it by every 10ccs, starting from 50 of course...
on it
@@bartmotorcycle lol, imo best 50cc 4 strokes for 60s is the Honda SS50
I would recommend stepping up in a geometric as opposed to arithmetic steps, each one say the cube root of two greater , so every third one would be double.
In the 20hp series R14 and MT15 rule the kingdom
I agree with this list - these bikes are probably the best in their class for performance to value.
And can vouch for the Int 650 - such a clean, natural sounding, great looking, and easy to drive bike. 🏍
did i just watch a Triumph Ad?
For the 10 hp range the sg250 by csc is at 14hp and is a real modern classic. Small and light. It has a carb and they are super easy to work on and the cg250 that's in it are tough little motors. I have put 30000 miles on a hawk 250 same motor with no problems. And there are aftermarket performance parts to push it up to 20hp.
In the 130-140 range: BMW R1250R. Its amazing. That great boxer engine out of the GS, but in a naked bike. Hard to beat. Best bike I've owned, by far.
I think this video is paid by some motorcycle companies because I doesn't see any Suzuki
Very little of Japanese companies man, just the R1 and 2 Hondas, probably because they’re popular so hard to miss. A purely subjective list just praising Triumph and MV Augusta. I mean l like Triumph but he’s just listed out the whole catalogue and nobody even buys MV lmao
Not sponsored I’m certain though, just foolish
@@NalinKhurb I reckon, sponsored. I asked him directly in a comment. Wait for me to get blocked or deleted
He's just a millennial hipster who despite having owned a total of one bike is a complete expert because he "researched it" online.
You definitely have a soft spot for British motorcycles, and that's more than ok! They're great!
For the 60 hp range, I'd prefer the Moto Guzzi V7 850, given the Shaft drive and the better comfort. Also, I don't like the Triumph fake heritage engine: Liquid-cooled and 270° crank angle.
I want to say this was biased. But on the other hand so am I. I love Japanese sport bikes. You definitely have good taste tho 😃
Nice picks! I have a 21 Augusta Dragster Rosso and I love it. Its a weird bike with quirks but if definitely is something special.
I own a 2007 Moto Guzzi Norge 1200, and a 2017 Moto Guzzi V7 Stone with titanium exhaust tips (working on getting titanium exhaust headers). These bikes are very fun to ride, and I highly recommend purchasing the 850cc V7's.
I'm just glad both of my bikes are on your list (Trident and Speed Twin)
Just ordered a Tuareg 660, I’m so excited to get it!!!
HOLY SHIT YOU’RE ALREADY AT 5 k congratulations
So I think 🤔 you like 👍 MV Augusta 😂😂😂
M feeling so lucky that i have a ROYAL ENFILED, owned Streettwin and currently having Streettriple R… 🥰
Thanks for the video!
Interesting list. Shows what kinda bikes you're into which I dig even if I like other bikes it's neat to see
Thanks a lot for that unique panorama of motorcycles! Remember, only those who do nothing do no mistake, all this to say that at 7'9" you talked about a "horizontal" V twin while the Moto Guzzi V7, as all Moto Guzzi, has a "Transversal" V Twin :)
really nice concept buddy!
Dude I agreed with almost all your picks, but I can’t believe you didn’t put the BMW r90 on your list, blows my mind, that bike is addicting to ride, and I have had a lot of bikes
Anyway great video, thanks
In the 130 horsepower range any of the BMW R1250s would be a lot more interesting than the Goldwing.
I would go for Honda CB500X for 50 hp, it's actually 46.9 but honestly best bike at 50hp
I feel the Honda CB650R should be in place of the Triumph Tiger.
I 100% agree with what you say about the multistrada v4. Not my type of bike either, but my neighbour just got one and I can't stop staring at it, it's a work of art!
Looks good and rides like shit
@@hexagonosaurus5848 good to know, thanks!
If it was available worldwide.. I think the yamaha R15 or MT 15 would be the best pick in 20hp range.. But yeah the new classic 350s are really good with their refinement. Also avoid older 350s if you dont want a vibrator between your legs above 70kmph
Agreed 💯
Models available outside are India are built different and better equipped.
@@sensei249 royal Enfield,BSA and BMW bikes are mostly built in India and they are well equipped.
I don't know why you commented this here.
Is it because akshat kumar is indian? Lol
@@swapnilchaudhari9545European countries have different laws. Many royal Enfield bikes become costly in these countries, with better silencer etc. And many foreign brands have to tone down their models to reduce bike cost ex not sometimes they don't offer abs in Indian bound models. And I mentioned comment here because he was talking about worldwide availability.
You should call yourself Triumph bart.
You've got incredible taste in motorcycles but your vintage content is my favorite. The old bikes are the best bikes.... well, then there's Janus.
A lot of people have commented about how this guy is biased against sport bikes and I agree but I see a different issue. He is biased heavily by brand. At least half these bikes seem to be MV Augusta or Triumph and if you only look at the HP ranges that include new bikes from these 2 manufacturers he almost. Always picks one of the 2. Now while I think picking naked and retro bikes for most of the selections is quite boring if you are going to do so at least pick a few other varieties. You literally said the MT07 is most people’s pick for a reason and then picked a different bike from one of your favorites for no reason other than to be different. Cmon bro that’s just unfair to everyone else who came to see an honest review of different bikes.
"mayb ill pick up a used one in like 10 years" if i had a nickle for every time iv told myself that i could pick up one right now 🤣😂😭
Shouldve named the video "the best STYLISTIC motorcycles for every 10 horsepowers" at this point
Nicely done!
do more companies vs companies... your videos are awesome!!
And the best part is there appears to be no bias towards any particular style of bike....
I would've switched the 10HP pick with the Super Cub, if they didn't add so much new tech and jacked up the price.
The Super Cub was supposed to be simple, affordable transportation for everyone, Honda's current direction is the antithesis to that.
Also, I'd swap the 70HP pick with the Suzuki SV650 because it's my bike :D
Yeah, SV 4 Life!
Not often your hear KTM and reliable in the same sentence.
Good video, as usual.
the BMW R18 has seemingly lots of option, seen one "pretty much" naked, no bags, no windshield, but metallic colored air box, classic gauges, "Remus" exhaust and other options witch you could easily over see and it was like 7.000€ more expensive with 35.000€ than a version that looks like a Harley with window shield, bags and huge tft screen and gauges for 28.000€
Honorable mention @ 100hp: Indian Scout.
The BMW R1250R has around 130hp at 134hp, and has 148nm of torque (106ft-ibs) and is the best bike I've ever ridden. The Triumph Rocket Three you say has 165nm of torque, which translates to 122ft-ibs of torque so it's not double a super bike that has 82ft-ibs.. I only mention this because you got the NM and FT-Ibs of torque mixed up a little with the 165nm and 82ibs-ft. Otherwise the rest of it was a great video! Thank you!!
Good job, that was interesting and different.
Shoutout to the R1 for being the only supersport to make the list 😂 somoene get this man a hookup with Triumph though
Loved the Simson Schwalbe B roll :)
I can listen to you all day !!!
Very heavy on Triumph, no sure I would make the same choices, but cool video.
First time I’ve ever heard anyone say royal enfeild was reliable ,, everything I’ve seen and read says stay away unless you like working on your bike instead of riding it
Interesting vid. Ride safe, god bless u.
Me myself basically I'd pick a different motorcycle in almost every 10 hp range. I agree about the guzzi v7. Also the triumph rocket and the 1200 also. R1 or R1m agree again. And I do like MV Agusta, but I'd go with cheeper bike's myself. I might have picked the Suzuki gsx1000 sport tourer with bag's for 150 hp
That is a great machine, I want.
"and my choice for X horsepower..." me: idiot! almost every entry lmaooo.
thank you for making this movie I really enjoyed it
A bike that throws you to the left every time you accelerate sounds like my personal hell lol
why not just do an ad for triumph? lol
I have an 800cc MV Agusta Turismo Veloce in silver with a red frame. Gorgeous and goes very well with economy of 4.2 litres per 100 kilometres at a steady 110kmh.
