This is the first video my editor Maria did in front of the camera, and I hope she and Whitney will do plenty more next year, helping me not miss so many Friday's. I loved how she made the video. What do you think? If you missed our road trip together, watch it here 👉ua-cam.com/video/QJxaE9UpO1A/v-deo.html
If a gum manufacturer had a flavor, what would you call it? Juicy Fruit, Double Mint, Big Red? Well, she nailed it! This is great! Triple the content, triple the fun, and 3 times better. (Sorry… ah, not sorry Doodle). I hope they join forces with you to do more videos.
"Whatchu doin all that revving for?!" The way she smiles, like a little kid- sharing the two wheeled love and spreading joy is what I'm here for! Loving it, Team Doodle :)
I have a 2022 Indian Scout Rogue (basically a Bobber). All you do is change the seat, handlebars, and rear shocks and put some bags on. I am 5’3” and it is my mini bagger. It is very comfortable. I road 8 hour days to Colorado from Chicago and it was like a couch with my Progressive 444 standard duty 11.5” shocks, Dean Speed 12” Matador handlebars, and Corbin Brave Highback seat with Ovalback backrest. I added Viking Spirit Blade saddlebags as well.
I’m currently looking to replace the stock seat on my 2018 scout sixty. What seat did you end up going with? I’m trying to do the same with my bike and make it road trip worthy.
I'd imagine for a shorter rider you wouldn't get the question mark spine problems Maria mentions - am I right? Watching Maria in the video she's fairly straight-backed.
Doodle you have got to interview Moto Giant! He lost his leg / amputation and has a video talking about it. Next video his first ride back in the saddle with the new prosthetic and the modifications needed to ride again. His a hero of courage. 😊
in 2023 my girlfriend and I rode from Kansas to Alaska and back. I was on my Street Glide and she on her Ultra. On the return trip at the Alaska Canada border, we met a couple on their way home also. He was on a Harley Tri Glide and she was on an Indian Scout. They were heading back to Either Tennessee or Kentucky, I can't remember which. She was loaded down and had no issues with the long trip. Ride what works for you.
Hey Doodle just want to say I don't mind the ads. I know that this is your full-time job and I always appreciate your content so much. I know ads help fund this entire endeavor. Thank you and keep up the great work. Also, so glad to see your all female crew - thank you so much everyone!!
"To make the bike as light as possible, everything unnecessary was left out - except for the 1.2L engine of course." Also, I love the spanner as mic-holders
Oh, this is gonna be great! Having the three of you joining forces (on camera) is going to be triple the fun and a video experience that is 3 times better than before. (Sorry Doodle). As this video unfolds, let me grab my popcorn and take a seat, because I already know where this is going. My first Indian purchase was a 2022 Scout Bobber ICON ABS (blue smoke). I fell in love with the blue/black matte paint scheme and being just a twig taller than doodle this bike fits. Let me now preface that I know why the owner made the modifications he did. I won’t spoil it here, but I will say that I have since traded it in for a 2025 Indian 101 Scout that I had built. Although I miss the sound of the V&H 3” slash exhaust over the cat-restricted leaf blower exhaust of the 101 Scout, many of the modifications and upgrades from the Bobber were done on the 101. Indian listened to our gripes and complaints and made the changes on the ‘25 year line up. I am eager and excited to travel along with your journey and experience and see how it plays out. BTW, yes I ride H-D as well (for work and play).
I had a 2021 Indian Scout, for a while. I'm 5'9" inches tall, but always wanted to sit farther, and wanted the bars closer. With good exhaust it was great around town, but not so good on twisty roads or long trips. Traded it for a Kawasaki 2021 Z900RS, which is much more versatile. No plans to trade in that bike, ever.
Great little video. Kept a good pace and had good commentary. As for the bikes it went about how I expected. People talk down on metric cruisers but they still bring a lot of bang for the buck. That Suzuki is a solid highway bike. I rented one on a business trip a couple years ago and thought it was comfortable. The Indian by far(to me) was the best looking bike of the 3 I was a little concerned because she did look almost like a folded lawn chair on it but I'm glad it worked out. As for the chopper not really my thing but I'm sure it was more of a box checker without the commitment of buying one.(One of the best reasons to use a bike rental service) Another great video.👍
I have a similar model (K6S) AGV helmet. I recently purchased a off-brand "transitions" type visor for it from eBay. Used it all last summer, worked great. Was less than $75. Also agree that the Scout Bobber is not the best bike for roadtrips. My wife has a 2022 which I've ridden a few times. It has no storage, no wind protection and the OE rear suspension is spine jarring. Fantastic bike otherwise. I'll look into the suspension mods you mentioned! Ride safe.
Very interested in your comments, just wanted to know your impressions of the fuel tank size, did it mean you stopped more often to fuel up on the Indian Scout? That is the one thing that put me off the Scout, I wanted a bigger tank as gas stations can be a bit far apart in Australia.
Love my ISB twenty. It is not the most comfortable for longer trips (take mine 1,100 miles from Philly to new Richmond, WI each year) but you learn tricks to make the trips tolerable. Will probably be upgrading the shocks next riding season to make the trips easier.
In other words, after you replace the seat, the handlebars, the footpegs, and suspension, and add some luggage carrying capability (and maybe add some real fenders), a bobber can actually be a great bike!
I have a 2020 scout bobber twenty. I have put 16000 miles on it mostly riding 100 mi per day but have taken it on a couple 3 hr tours to the smokeout chopper rally. I need to change suspension as it feels like a hard tail with the solid mount tractor seat. but it's a great bike.
My back hurts just thinking about it! I have a Softail Slim (bobber, my first Harley) and he’s now just my cruiser bike around town. I take my Road Glide out for the road trips. You got to start somewhere though! Great video!
Imagine a 350 mile 1 day trip , 2 up aboard a 72 Honda CL 450. I was lucky to be driving. Jim wasn't, he was my passenger. Our riding buddy Ron was aboard a 74 Yamaha RD 250 { 2 stroke }. In the late 60s Ron would ride his Honda 90 from Birmingham, AL. to Panama City, FL. Imagine a group of 2 stroke Enduro bikes, ranging from 125 cc to 360 cc, making a 4 hour trip to the beach. One Yamaha 175 didn't complete the 4 hour trip home and was sold along the road. What can I say, we were young, and looking for adventure. Keep those wheels turning.
people were tougher then - no a/c in cars, manual steering/brakes, no a/c in houses, etc And we didn't know better...once I got a yahama venture i never want to do a long trip on anything other than a full dresser.
I did 1,100 miles on my rogue to go to Laconia bike week and let me tell you the first 500 in the rain was quite painful but the mini apes make a world of difference cause of the arm position but the seat is definitely a need to change
I am curious as to what you consider a "500 mile road trip"? Did you do this in one day or multi day? I have an Indian Roadmaster and a Harley Road King which can both breeze through 500 mile days. But I impressed my 75 year old self more by riding my Honda Grom 300 miles in 7 hours last month.😊
We rode to the Devil's Triangle it over 2 days only cause we left so late the first night 😜 all our filming and stopping made that 5 hr drive take us about 9 hrs 😂
I have only been riding for three years and the bobber was my first bike. I realized I needed a bit more comfort..now have a wonderful super chief and took it from CA to KY. ..great trip with lots of comfort.
Good video! As an Indian rider, I will echo and say that the Bobber bikes were my least favorite on Indian demo days. I've owned a Scout and still own my Super Chief Limited and my Springfield. The Springfield is my favorite but I've had a tougher problem finding a comfortable seat.
I’m surprised the Springfield doesn’t ship with a good seat. I fully expect something like a Honda dirtbike to ship with a plank of wood, but a comfortable seat is rather important for a bagger.
@@Thanatos2996 It's definitely better than what came stock on the Scout. That's for sure. But it seems many folks find it's painful after about 30 to 45 minutes. Maybe if I shed a few pounds it would help but for now it's not been great. I put Corbins on my other two Indians and that was it--great. I tried a used Corbin on this bike and it moves you up and back, by their design. I don't like that. Tried an Ultimate. Moves you up and slightly forward, contrary to their marketing. So I'm back to stock and plan to add an Air Hawk this weekend to give that a go.
The only bike I have ever rented was an Indian scout bobber. And yes, on Rider's share. I am 5'8" with an inseam of only 28 inches. But I've owned a KTM 1190 adventure, so I have learned the tricks of riding a tall bike. As you say in this video, the bike looks, sounds, and rides great. But the one I rode had a suspension so stiff it felt like a hard tail. Just a crack in the pavement sent a jolt through my spine. Now my cruiser is a triumph rocket iii, and I have none of those issues. Instead, I wish they made a handlebar risers for that bike.
The Scout Bobber is amazing, my only complaint is the forward foot controls. It should have mid controls like a true bobber, that will be the first mod I do when I get mine.
I can understand long rides on the wrong bike. Try Charlottesville, Va to Daytona Beach, Fl on a Suzuki GSXR 600. Talk about back pain, but luckily I was on 27 at the time.
I really don't see the choice as a big mistake. While not as comfortable as the Suzuki, it sounds a lot like this young woman actually enjoyed riding the bike. With the added upgrades, she seemed to have found it to be much better than the original in use. No experience on or off motorcycling is likely perfect. Considering the discussion and her thoughts in this video, I don't think this was a mistake as much as a learning experience. Enjoy it as much as you can.
I spent about 5 hours on a rental Scout and my back was was pretty sore after. The way the seat locks you in place makes it impossible to get any relief by scooting one way or the other. Seems to be less of a problem for shorter riders. Fun bike for quick rips though.
Its worse for shorter riders. I'm 6ft with long arms. It fits me better than someone with shorter arms. Because the bike literally pulls you forward with the bars. So the smaller you are the more it will make you hunch over. However the taller you are, the more your knees bend. I own a scout
I have a 2018 Scout. I added bags and a Mustang seat. I rode from OKC to Huntsville. 688 miles in 20 hours. Stopped every 100 for gas and stretch. The ride down was fun. I almost rented a uhaul to come home. My rump and back were killing me. Love my bike, but i love it more under 200 miles 😂
I have worked in an Indian service department for years. The Scout in all its versions is a rock solid motorcycle. Very customizable but a bit on the small size chassis wise. Never ever have them for warranty work and if there is an issue it’s usually the owner not taking care of it. You cannot go wrong with this platform.
Nice video. Certainly can do it on a bobber, I did several 500mi trips on a sportster but it’s a journey. Also Doodle is smokin with that curly hair and white glasses.
A beautiful motorcycle indeed!. Which motorcycle to buy is based on how you plan [90% of the time] to ride it. There are different motorcycles for weekend warriors, daily commuters and long-haul adventure riders. I own a Triumph Bobber equipped with small saddle bags and can wear a small backpack for those longer rides. Would I recommend it for cross-country rides, no. Would I take it out for a weekend to a week ride, yes!
Ive got a 2023 Scout rogue. Me and my wife 2up on that bike lol. People say i make it look like a bicycle when im on it lol. I love it though. Very sporty cruiser. I have done alot to make it more comfortable though and still adding to it. Farthest Ive road on it in a day was about 350 miles. I could do more but i have since bought a touring bike for me and the wife for trips across state lines.
Haven’t done 500 miles but did about 250 on my sportster s. Have a fairing and seat cushion with extended bars. Will be getting mini apes to help with arm ergos
@@aluisious Those are mounted off the forward controls and rest on or very close to the frame. The part that looks like a radiator is actually part of the frame and the radiator sits in between the two down "tubes". There is also a shroud there that adds to the illusion. Hope that makes sense!
im always confused why ppl go for the bobber instead of the classic scout. i know its ABIT cheaper but the regular scout seems so much more livable. but im just happy a indian was in the roadtrip, Shes a beautyyy~
The seat is the only issue. I’ve ridden my 2019 scout bobber on a 4 day bike trip. Put over 800 miles on it that weekend. Just gotta change out the stock seat. Even the Indian comfort seat is no good. Oh, and the tires. Those oem tires are horrible.
I need the seating position of my R1250GSA to ride more than 50 miles… I can barely stand riding across Atlanta with my Harley, but I still give it some time.
I am re-entering the sport and I recently passed the MSF BRC in late October. I am buying a KTM 390 Duke (with already affixed crash bars) for the lower weight and standard type riding position. I am concerned about dropping the bike during my parking lot drills which will be my primary activity until I think I am worthy of the streets. Do you have any advice on what sort of physical reactions I should employ in the event in a slow speed bike dropping. I am not preoccupied with crashing, but forewarned is forearmed. How to use my leg(s), not looking down (I think) . I really don't want to smack my head. I won't be on the bike without full gear. Would so appreciate your advice. Your channel is awesome ! Bob
You Doodle chose wisely..... while the bobber is small and fun to ride locally but it's not the bike to do any LD rides. Still I'm glad y'all had a great time together!!!! Ride safe, Be Blessed and have a great Thanksgiving!!!!
Great video. Maria needs to start her own channel. She's very good on camera and with VO stuff. Or you can keep her as part of your channel I guess. : ) Was that Spite's friend hanging out with you two?
Had my Scout romance. Beautiful bike. Eye-catching everywhere I went. Torky, too. Suffered in the rideability. Tippy for such a low-profile bike. Really frantic at highway speeds. Not buzzy, frantic. Like being pulled down the road by a bottle rocket. DEFINITELY not a road-trip bike.
Is anyone else getting tired of all the paid advertising for flying eyes from every moto channel? Looked at them in person at Barber during race week, was not impressed.
As someone who has put 75,000 miles on a 2019 Indian Scout Bobber I’d have to say that I really disagree 😂😂😂 Last year I rode from NJ to Florida to Wyoming and back to NJ in one trip on my Scout Bobber. A bike is about how you set it up.
I've been looking to moving from my MT09 to something more chill. I checked out the 2025 Sport Scout, the Rebel 1100 and the Harley Street Bob. I test rode a Rebel 1100 and it was pretty comfortable, there are a few changes I would make of course, but overall it was fine. I didn't get to test ride the other ones, but the Indian felt very uncomfortable the reach to the handlebars. Even tho the Sport scout comes with a 6" risers, I am a short rider and it felt like I was laying on the tank to reach the bars, and with forward controls that did not feel comfortable at all. I don't get why this bike doesn't come standard with at least some 10 inch pull back risers or mini apes. That tank is crazy long. Not to mention the price that here in California, out the door the Sport Scout + tech is over 19k, compared to a Rebel 1100 which would be around 12k. Yes the indian looks better and more refined, but 7k is a big chunk of money, and just to add 10 inch risers parts alone are over $600 (the dealer gave me a quote for that) not including installation.
"across state lines"? Was she an outlaw??? I liked your video with the ladies and changing up the rented bikes. Good choice. Would be nice to see more of these 3 person rides together with you doing history and also tell us about the bikes. When you going to do some off road only, motocross and jumping bikes?
Dont know that it was a BIG mistake. If it had been stock... thats a big mistake. It has a lot of upgrades too.... so it's not really a bobber anymore really. I mean with the upgrades its more like a scout or a chief.
@@DoodleOnAMotorcycle same applies. You can do long distance boringly or you could ride long distance fun-ly 😂. I've don'e 500 mile days on my Sportster and 500 mile days on my heritage. 500 miles on my Sportster on back roads is much more exciting than 500 comfy highway miles on a bigger bike. Depends on ones goal I guess. If the destination is the goal and you just wanna be fresh when you get there. I guess the most comfortable, least tiring option is best. But if the trip itself is the destination. I think the most exciting option is what id want to take.
I took the opportunity to test ride a new Indian FTX?? FXT?? 1200. I’ve been on a Ducati Hyper 950 last three years. I like the style of the Indian. Plus two additional points for not being a HD. At end of the test ride I wasn’t impressed with the power or the delivery on the Indian. Maybe it could be turned differently?
As much as I like and want a Bobber, why wouldn't Maria just use her MT-07 for the trip? It's faster and more nimble then the Bob...My wife has one and we do multi day road trips all the time with it.
So Brian the owner bought a 2019 Indian for $12000 plus tax and tags. Total $14400. Then he spent an additional $4000 on upgrades for a total of $18400. Do you see the logic in that? Me neither.

Never ever have them for warranty work and if there is an issue it’s usually the owner not taking care of it. You cannot go wrong with this platform.
I had a Scout for 4 years loved the ride just make sure you have the right travel on the rear suspension its night and day.
What a great honest review, bravo 👏👏👏
I have a ‘21 bobber 20 with the mini apes and I have to get off it after about 45 min. And one bump or pot hole and you’ll need a chiropractor 😂
Really nice video with your friends great video thanks again for sharing
Ive got a 2023 Scout rogue. Me and my wife 2up on that bike lol. People say i make it look like a bicycle when im on it lol. I love it though. Very sporty cruiser. I have done alot to make it more comfortable though and still adding to it. Farthest Ive road on it in a day was about 350 miles. I could do more but i have since bought a touring bike for me and the wife for trips across state lines.
Probably mention im 6'3 pushing 300 lol
Haven’t done 500 miles but did about 250 on my sportster s. Have a fairing and seat cushion with extended bars. Will be getting mini apes to help with arm ergos
Hey! Can I ask what bag that is on the back of the sissy bar? Doesn’t seem to need a rack.
Absolutely gorgeous bike but, as a FJR owner, I've been spoiled and wouldn't attempt a 500 mile ride on a bike lacking a windscreen.
@@OneStepBeyondu I mean they sell one for it lol
It's a very different experience. With the right mindset, you might even prefer it. Some people do anyways.
Are those "frame sliders" connected to the radiator? Is the shroud of the radiator actually heavy steel and a frame member?
What's going on with that?
I need the seating position of my R1250GSA to ride more than 50 miles…
I can barely stand riding across Atlanta with my Harley, but I still give it some time.
Bob
Need Maria to start her own channel!!
That was really good! I bet the watch time for this video is going to be good. I think you're on to something!
I see the scout still had the stock tires. Metzlers and change the seat for Corbin or saddle man but I am a fan of the scout
Yup, I saw a beautiful Scout on the showroom floor but as soon as I sat on it I knew it was not the bike for me.
I would recommend a 2003 BMW R1200 CLc one of the best motorcycles ever made for road trips. I have pulled of 1200-1500 mile trips nonstop.
Good video! In conclusion: Long Trips > Bad! Is it doable? Yes!
I was thinking I'd be quite happy to ride that bike 500 miles.
The Indian Scout is an awesome looking bike. I would consider it if I ever move up in size what I call a heavy street machine.
The indian bobber looks so GOOD AHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I have an idea for a meet up. At the end of March, the AMA Flat Trackers will be racing in Senoia, GA. We would love to see you there.
Is anyone else getting tired of all the paid advertising for flying eyes from every moto channel? Looked at them in person at Barber during race week, was not impressed.
Funny you say that I get my glasses from local hardware store for like 10 bucks work just as well LOL
bruh that ain't shatterproof you gonna get a shard of glass (or plastic) in yo' eyeball
@@DoodleOnAMotorcycle darn it i know youre right - ok fine :)
They look like a good product, but I'd be interested to see what they charge to fit prescription progressive lenses.
$5 safety sunglasses
I did a 1000-mile tour on a CZ 175 in the 70s.
Don't know what all the fuss is about.
As someone who has put 75,000 miles on a 2019 Indian Scout Bobber I’d have to say that I really disagree 😂😂😂
Last year I rode from NJ to Florida to Wyoming and back to NJ in one trip on my Scout Bobber.
When you going to do some off road only, motocross and jumping bikes?
it's on the list 😜
2" of rear suspension travel. Expensive piece of jewelry more than a usable motorcycle, unless you're short like me. Then it's pretty freakin cool :)
Love the wrench microphone holder!
Looks like a great bike, maybe not the best choice but definitely not the worst either 👍
I’ve been really in love with the looks of that bike for a while now, but I’m 6’4”. I guess I should just give up the dream.
I took a 2016 scout 60 on a 5300-mile road trip, but I added a lot of storage and windshield and crashbars
Nice video. Thank you!
Great video 👍👌
I love my 2022 Indian Scout Bobber
Wow. I’m totally struck! I’m getting one for sure !
Great video!
Dont know that it was a BIG mistake. If it had been stock... thats a big mistake. It has a lot of upgrades too.... so it's not really a bobber anymore really. I mean with the upgrades its more like a scout or a chief.
😂
still a better pick than the chopper🤦😂
seeing the thumbnail of the Doodle fitting perfectly on the scout makes it really easy to rule it out for my 6-2 300lb ass, lol
I think saying that choosing an Indian bobber was a BIG MISTAKE is a little missliding.
100%
Can you do another cross country ride on your Triumph please? 🙏
That ‘Samuel L Jackson’ mic clip killed me. 😆
I like the doodle poodle hair 🤙
😂😂
@ I do, it looks nice. Not many girls have curls anymore.
It is nice to see. 🤙👏👏👏👏
Doodle, it would be nice
if we could hear more of what the bikes sound like in your videos.
Fun seeing/hearing their perspective on the bikes/trip.
I've done 5000 mile trips on my 15 scout.
OUCH!!!
I'm having a hard time here... what was the BIG MISTAKE? Was the mistake that she loved it so much and didn't want to give it back?
Her body was hurtin'!
@@DoodleOnAMotorcycle oh... that was hardly mentioned. What was it - the reach? the crab position?
Im always thrown by people whos goal is to make motorcycle riding, feel like chillin on a couch.
#longdistanceriders 😉
@@super16g123 exactly right 👍
@@DoodleOnAMotorcycle same applies.
It definitely needs risers for an upright position and a better seat.
As much as I like and want a Bobber, why wouldn't Maria just use her MT-07 for the trip? It's faster and more nimble then the Bob...My wife has one and we do multi day road trips all the time with it.
Sounds more like an Indian commercial, but, it’s because you, I still watched the video 😊
what's with the different wrench sizes on the microphone? Was that to see if we were paying attention or just having some fun! 😉
Super vlog!
You should do a video where you introduce your crew.
We did that in the road trip video 😜 2 weeks ago thinking of doing a livestream too with them though for some more look into them
So Brian the owner bought a 2019 Indian for $12000 plus tax and tags. Total $14400. Then he spent an additional $4000 on upgrades for a total of $18400. Do you see the logic in that? Me neither.
Is your personal bike a cruiser
She said she has an MT-07, that's more like a naked sport bike
I'm planning my first week long road trip in the spring and this is my dream bike. I wanted to rent this for the trip but now I'm questioning it 🤔
I’d be more nervous on the chopper.
WAIT FOR IT....
