- A Comprehensive look at everything you need to know about Kawasaki's BRAND NEW 2025 Ninja 1100SX!
G'day guys I'm Kwackajack and today we are having a look at Kawi's brand new replacement for the very popular Ninja 1000SX. Having only been revealed hours ago, we have got a good look at all of the new features and differences between this and the old one.
So join me as have go through all of the new info and try to answer the question; Have they done enough?

I like the Ninja 1000sx. The lower power for its engine size was always a bummer. Seeing it even lower isn't ideal, but I feel like Euro6 and the EPA are holding it back quite a bit.
Once tuners get their hands on the new engine we will start to see some impressive gains for what I can hope will be a minimal cost.
Damnnn, only thing missing is onboard maps option or carplay/android auto. I know you can get this after market but would of been a great change for 2025
Thanks for the VID!
And now that BT connectivity via Ridology is a subscription based option. I saw that on Kawasaki Australia website. Not sure how should feel about that
It needs more power , and a little redesign , and for people to go , WOW . That’s my next bike .
Best video about 1100 SX.
Congrats
The same thing they did to zx6r 2024 vs the old zx6r 2023 below. They reduce the hp a bit but offers a dip on torque on low and mid rpm range. To me that even better specially on street riding
The only difference is that the 1000 didn't need more torque
All I needed to hear was less power to put me on an instant 23-24 hunt. It’s completely trivial, but I feel the spec sheet number hounds out here will try to make a while thing about it.
I’ve been on my sv650 for three years and the ninja 1000sx is the only thing that makes sense for me based on how I ride. I was eying an mt09 for a bit, but I figured the naked to naked transition wouldn’t make enough of a difference to feel worth it.
First 😁
Ninja 1000 my dream bike and now has even better version ❤❤
Bring back the double exhausts from the older models & the unique blue shade from the 2019 model & I'll be sold
why have two hideous exhausts to replace and increase weight even more. They should have been able to lighten this new model year, especially if they couldn't do any better with the power. The current power is not at all lacking in the 20-24 version, not enough get an H2. I have a 2023 and wouldn't change it for this newer model. What they could have done was allow us to program our desired chain sprocket ratios like Ducati does without throwing codes in the IMU. The previous tranny was just fine and evenly spaced if we could have tailored it to our own liking. I've now become very happy with the 23 version and might only like to drop 1 or 2 teeth on the rear sprocket if at all. And who needs a cruise control on a SPORT tourer, I never even think about using it! The grip warmers make way more sense for a Sport tourer than the cruise control. If cruise control is your ultimate thing get a Goldwing and ride interstates. But for the backroads and twisties cruise is just not needed. The problem is always trying make every bike everything for everybody and it just doesn't work that way.
The changes are very practical and very welcome. The ongoing design language isn't bad either. One thing they could have changed further is that unpleasing exhaust pipe.
More torque over lower hp, I'd go for it. It's a tourer not a racer.
@@David-th2ug It's a Sport Tourer, that's the difference.
Hopefully this is like the gen 3 Hayabusa. They gave it less power but improved the low and mid range. I saw a video the other day that had a guy who tests bikes all over the world getting them to so their best acceleration times all the way up to their top speed and he said the gen 3 is actually faster in the quarter mile. I wouldn't be surprised if this bike is at least as fast(unrestricted) and actually quicker despite the small loss of HP.
"Concentrating on more usable mid-range torque" is just marketing speak for "this is the best we could do with the new emissions requirements".
Hopefully the 23 and 24 models will be heavily discounted .
Still remain to be convinced that my present 23 Versys 650 isn’t the back road, motorway , smooth dirt unicorn .
Wonder if a revised 650 is coming ?
The only complaint about mine was the seat. It is awful. A Sergeant seat and a flash made it fantastic. The flash only gains a few Hp, but it lets you access all of the power. The secondaries only open around 25% until it gets to 8000 when stock.
I had the 1042cc version of this engine and it was already grunty down low, didn’t need more. Vibration reduction is a huge plus though, as are the longer 5th and 6th gears. If you hate riding at higher rpm, why shop for an inline 4?
I was hoping for a design refresh in the front mask, but not today...
What a massive disappointment, the one thing i wanted from the new sx was a increase in bhp! 😢
Same here, I own a 2018 Ninja 1000 and I was expecting more power from the new model
@@GuilhermeGalhardo I have the 2020 model (21) and I find it disappointing that they didn't change the design and don't offer an semi-active suspension on it. I won't move up, I doubt the difference in torque will be so massive, judging from the charts I've seen. It's true that the Versys didn't change a lot either but that model at least gets a significant boost in power and torque
I was happily expecting 150 hp...what a bummer
@nelsong8986 my dream would be a 165hp
@@GuilhermeGalhardo absolutely!!
I hate the fact that the Ninja and the Versys will have exactly the same engine performance, to me that's laziness from kawasaki's part and a way to kill the ninja 1000's DNA.
Ninja and Versys' owners are very different but yet kawasaki put us in the same category.
No way. I still have a 2017 model and I don’t feel that needs any upgrade. Let see 2026
@@cerico76 I had the 2014 model and it had enough torque at low and Mid revs already.
I know this is the bike I should get but I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally want a ZX14.
Heavier and less power 👍
They should just make a 900SX already.
Am not sure the horse power stat is the defining factor. Hp is somehting to do with how much work a motor can do over time. I think it's the torque from the engine, and at the wheel that makes the difference.
For example, I am sure I have seen a bigger cc Triumph with a higher torque number than hp number. While it's still a fast bike.
I saw a video on horse power vs torque, but was really non the wiser after.
im between getting the 1100SX or a hyaboosa once i get my opens for my license
Pretty bummed about this. This was on my short list but the 24 colorway was the definition of lame, until it was dethroned by the 25 models. The green is cool so long as you really want a bright green bike cause if not, you get......black, way to knock it out of the park Kawasaki
No keyless start????
Kawasaki can keep that in their garage. Very little update for many years? Versys same as well 2018- 2025 same 😂😂😂😂
Is anyone interested??
No
They had so many years to perfect bikes.. yet aftermarket exhaust beats them all the time.. wtf is with the lame fugly exhausts? sigh..
I will keep my 2023 1000sx
