  • In this lesson, Rich Redmond is going to help you get the gig and show how he's achieved such diverse success as a drummer and musician by breaking down "The Money Beats". Honestly, if you play these beats to perfection you could build an entire career off of them. There is a reason these are known and the money beats of drumming; they make you money!
Rich Redmond is known for his dynamic, versatile, and rock-solid drumming - and as one of the most in-demand drummers in the music industry, he has worked with artists including Jason Aldean, Bryan Adams, Kelly Clarkson, Joe Perry, Ludacris, Kid Rock, Jewel, Luke Bryan, and many more. So who better to learn the money beats from than someone who has put them to use and proved the concept?
It doesn't matter if you're just getting started on the drums, if you're looking to get your first gig as a drummer, or if you're looking to take your drumming to the next level; this lesson is for you!

showman. never turns it off. He is branding himself like nobodys business. Solid backbeats and tons of energy - this is how one goes to WORK as a drummer. Well done.

There's a lot of great drumming out there with a lot of different approaches , but it's easy to see why Rich has been successful in Nashville, he gives them what they need.
He lays down a solid groove with great time, tasty hi hat work and plays fills that don't disturb the groove. He plays these "money beats" with the kind of energy that drive a band, playing just what the song needs. Great attitude to bring to any gig you might be playing.

His drums sound amazing. So many drummers forget the importance of what he’s teaching. Just because it sounds simple doesn’t mean it’s easy. Every note is played with conviction. It’s being able to create a groove that not only sounds and feels great but making it move solidly. It’s about providing for the song, never over doing it. No over the top drum fills, no getting in the way. Just layin’ it down the way it should be! Richmond is a real inspiration.

Hands down.. He's a great teacher / Coach.... Rich Redmond makes complex things so easy to understand. Not just with money beats, but complex latin stuff.. I've understood Mozambique rhythm in few minutes of his teaching.

Let me tell you something about Rich Redmond. He's a MONSTER! I attended a clinic of his 19 YEARS AGO when he was a student at North Texas, and he was a MONSTER back then! In fact, he was the main drummer for the One O'clock Lab band (Google it if you're not familiar). Let me tell you, his current gig is so beneath his full ability it's unreal. But that's what I love most about him. He plays for the SONG, not his EGO. Sure, he gets a nice paycheck as well, but he was doing the same thing for a good decade before he even got noticed. Thank you for this lesson!!

I’ll tell you what. Along with the handout, this lesson is one of their best. For me, it’s a get real moment especially for the ostinatos and developing some real independence and facility. I think very few drummers can actually do all of this and really nail it. Not to mention being able to then go back and swing it. Nice job, DRUMEO!

Redmond is a master player and performer. It''s funny to me how other drummers bash him on facial expressions and the way he hits the drums. If he didn't play with that same intensity the Jason Aldean band would be another average country rock band. his intensity with simple beats is what other musicians look for in a drummer. Not show off selfish players with lots of licks and no dynamics or groove. Just my 2 cents.

He plays for the song... he has discipline... he’s an amazing performer and has so much energy when he plays live.. he brings so many things to the table as musician and he’s a great fuckin player..he also makes his grooves sound and feel so great... nothing is too simple

asking you guys in the comments. is there a good lesson already out there where they go through the sitting position and seat height and such for the kick drum foot to be comfortable and all that jazz? just wondering, i love the vids but there are so many out there to go through and i am having problems playing fast (hardcore punk, dbeat and those fast one kick pedal things) without it feeling a bit "iffy" and i'm not certain what it is. sometimes i try to put the chair further away from the kit and i can believe that i solved the issue but then next session that does not feel perfect and i move it again.
