CHP officer gave me a DUI 6 years ago! Didn’t realize it then but it was a blessing in disguise. That ride in the back of his cruiser to Santa Rita that night ended up saving my life. I wish I could remember who it was and go back to thank him. 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Bad Drivers Of The NorCal Area no fool I was drunk
Bad Drivers Of The NorCal Area yeah dude I didn’t care then little did I know 3 years later his decision to take me on a point n .08 BAC Which I thought was bullshit at the time with nearly turn around to save my life years later. By then it was too late and had no idea how to track him down. Not even having friends who serve for the California Highway patrol
I went back to the 80's when I use to watch the same videos with officers John Baker and Frank Poncherello ....good times !!!
You get paid to ride a motorcycle in the sun and a free gun as well ? How did I not think of this 40 years ago ? 😆😎
LOL ... It's a little MORE than just that .... But it is a GOOD GIG for sure !!

After 24 yrs of riding in the sunshine .... A FREE case of Sunblock SPF-50
Couldn't imagine the stress of being chp for 24 years! Wish him a wonderful retirement... 3% at 50!
Congrats on the retirement. I’m in the same boat. I retire on 22 Nov! Enjoy it. You’ve earned it.
@@letsanalyzethis5528 How’d it go?
@@letsanalyzethis5528 Awesome bro! I’ve heard a lot of people failing there written test what is it about? It’s crazy i’m 15 watching all these videos about my dream job. My two brothers work in LAFD. I’m taking a whole different route. I’m in amazing shape i’ve been playing football since I was 6 and still am to this day I’m always at the gym pumping some iron to get big💪🏼 Yeah bro i’ll be committing to this job full on! I believe i have to wait til 20 years old to join the 6 1/2 month course. I even tried the PAT test myself and I busted it out like nothing. How was your time there? Did they get in your faces and treat you like boot camp? Give me some info bro also congrats you got this!
@@letsanalyzethis5528 Man I look up to you! I totally understand where your coming from. Honestly I can run a 7 min mile if I wanted too I’m at a division 2 highschool playing running back it’s all i’m doing is running.
I have amazing grades, i’m at a 3.9 gpa (almost honor arrow) I promise everytime I’m on the freeway I see a patrol car hidden it amazes me all props to them it takes a lot of hard dedication to have that badge on.
I’ve been on ride alongs with my brothers in their fire trucks pretty cool but something about the Highway patrol gets my attention.
So It’s the PAT test and the written test what else? I saw some videos of them tearing you guys up in the gym doing cardio. So you retake your written test let’s say you pass and then what’s the next step? I’ll add you to my prayer bro it’s amazing what your doing.
@@AdrianHernandez-ib7pr sounds like you are on the right track buddy. Keep it up.
I can relate to your comment about the CHP units, because I tear up when I see one all the time.
After the PAT, you will take the written test next day, but because of COVID-19, the written will be on a different time. The recruiter's will let you know via email. If you are successful in the written, you will be notified in 4 weeks of your results. I believe you got to background investigations. You will have to turn in a huge packet of your life, i.e. jobs, addresses where you've lived, friend's, schools that you've attended, etc. Throughout the background, you will take a CVSA test, aka lying detector, and a psychological test, and a physical test. Once you are pass all of these tests, you will be invited to the academy. When you successfully pass the academy, it will be graduation for you buddy and an official CHP officer.
@@letsanalyzethis5528 Awesome man! Hey ima let you go now thank you a lot for this info! Keep strong you got this bro! Please keep in touch with me and let me know how you do best of luck man! Hooah! 🥇
He's very professional in not coming out and saying-there will be no love lost between he and the agency that employs him when he retires...
This isn't chips?! Kidding.. Respect to all forms of law enforcement from Georgia 🇺🇸
Sounds like Tom Hanks.

Record his last call out please, and thank you!
Motor officer is a G for wearing a Submariner while he works.
Yeah, I saw that too.
indeed is! didnt think anyone else noticed
A what?
@@lucagevaert61 I believe he was in the submarine part while in the Navy.

This was fantastic! The best CHP vlog I've seen yet! I wish the OC and LA CHP offices would do these types of videos! Thanks & I'm looking forward to watching more ride along videos soon!
That song is hilarious and matches with his expressions live life to the fullest!
@ 4:08, the officer’s bike is so close to the lane of travel it was making me nervous.
Same
Nothing like seeing a motor office thinking on his feet. Great cone recovery.👍👍
We used to live in Pleasant Hill, so it brings back memories seeing the sights that I drove everyday. We live in Germany now. Stay safe.
He retired just in time! Congrats to him and I hope he is having a good time retired!

Picking up the cone was classic.
I am impressed with his skills riding that heavy bike
After seeing this video helped me changed the way I see a speeding ticket there’s no rush really just cruise and enjoy the ride ✌🏽
Thank you thank you for all your hard work 💯💯💯💯💯💯🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
This guy makes me wanna join and plus riding is cool. Nice guys.
Then, get up our asses and lets go officer
Good video. The guy seems like a nice and fair guy. Congrats on your retirement and thank you for helping the community. 1 question I have, as a fellow biker, is why you guys don't wear more protective gear? I know you've seen the aftermath of a motorcycle crash, even at slow speeds... you can lose a lot of skin, so why the short sleeved shirts??
Thanks in advance for your time.
I wonder that too. I live in the UK and all officers wear all the proper protective clothing. It has to be much more comfortable wearing lighter clothing in the hot California climate though and they're probably less likely to crash in the first place if they're comfortable. That's my best guess.
That cone move was so rad.
God bless and protect "The Blue" ♥
I wish Bodrer Division SD would do these videos...congrats on your retirement officer Maguire Mary-1!
I just want to say thank you to all chp officer's my neighbor Cole is awesome and yesterday chp officer bishop i believe his name is was way awesome after someone hit me on the freeway at morongo casino. You guy's are very awesome and down to earth. I wish i didn't make the mistakes i made when i was younger cause id love to be a chp officer.
that cone pick up was impresive
May God bless CHP 🤗😇
Pre Congrats on the retirement. I have 7 years until I retire. Enjoy the last moments of the job and stay safe.
I bet he is gonna Tear up on his last day 100%
That “Polarbear” CVE Explorer looks amazing!
Great videos keep doing great work CHP
Great series guys. I am from the NYC area and have only been out in CA once, a few years ago. We were on one of the freeways coming back from San Fran to San Jose when a BMW in back of us went out of control crossed all lanes and plowed in the [dirt mound] divider. I was not driving but I saw it clearly in the side view mirror. I just subbed!
crazeenydriver that would be either 280 or 101, both pretty busy freeways.
@@EJ257IHI OK thank you, it was my only time on it
Thanks for safety that you guys gave to us in highway☺
Great video!! Humanizing the badge!!😎👍🏼👍🏼
A healthy & happy retirement. Thanks for your service. A little disappointed that you are not riding a Harley Davidson.
Happy retirement, sir, enjoy and stay wall and happy.
Please make more videos! I love watching them. As long as it’s not me that you have pulled over 😂
“You are what others want to be”. Posted at the entrance of Atlanta PD Motorcycle Unit.
Isn’t it wierd that they don’t wear protective gear
Yeah is weird
But still the thick could wear out they need armour
It looks like they're wearing concealed armor plates and carriers, ones that lie below the external uniform. Some departments prefer them since they look cleaner than the external carriers.
@@OfficerMajor Elbows are still exposed though
As the people above have stated there is likely some degree of protection. Most departments may also consider their training as protection. A copper is gonna have a much higher degree of training under their belt than average riders like you (potentially) or myself.
More ride alongs please 😁
4 years late but thank you for your service from the Midwest.
If you drive the speed limit anywhere in the Bay Area, you will get run over or shot at...period. The speed limit is 65 MPH and the only time anyone does this is when there is a visible CHP or a traffic jam. Even the CHP officers watching this video and reading these comments will agree with me. I would say the average speed is 80 MPH give or take 5 MPH.
Captain Obvious I routinely go 60 mph in the most far right lane and travel to Berkeley and Sacramento from Vacaville almost daily.
Your statement is completely inaccurate. Yeah, I get a few looks now and then, but have never gotten a road rage. You want to know how fast I go when I have gotten road rages? 80 mph +. You act different in that fast lane.
@@nickgaul1209 I drive daily from the EB to the SB and my statement is quite accurate.
Just different points of view, guys .....RELAX man ...
I’ve got that ride along song stuck in my head now...
Amazing motorcycle skills.
I used to live there. Made me have some old memories
Dream job... the concours 14 would be dope for day long riding
Be safe, guys! ❤️
Awesome...he likes his career...happy retirement
Parabéns pelo brilhante trabalho de vocês!
These guys are so cool , this is what most cops should be like 😃👍
These are some of the best trained officers in the world. Most city LEOs couldn't make it a week through the CHP Academy. Notice they aren't wearing the military style body armor and accessories you see most cops wearing these days. When you're poorly trained, you regularly put yourself in a position where you need body armor. LA Sheriff, OC Sheriff, SD Sheriff, their training is a fraction of what the CHP gets, and that's why they suck.
Please Post More Motorcycle Police Fun ride along Videos and those Police Officers are Amazing too
Keep up the good work ladies and gents! I’m stationed in NC but worked in that area prior to my military career. Y’all definitely have your hands full on a daily basis. Stay safe out there.
Controlled area patrol area of the neighborhood
"Looking for speeders" as literally everyone passing is speeding.
2:51 the boot in the orange cone. 😆
Congrats on your retirement
That's awesome good to know That police are human beings too
Congratulations on the retirement try to keep yourself out of trouble idle time is the devils played toy lol
Tagggggggggz for dayzzzzzzzzz 🤘
The thumbnail made me think it was another Jeremy DeWitt video.
nothing is better than with Stanley Roberts: Catching People Behaving Badly
He looks like Captain Chandler from the tv series Last ship!
Thank you for doing what you do and I wear a motorcycle helmet riding my wheelchair scooter around where I live
I swear I thought I was watching an episode of ChIps.
Jon and Ponch would be proud!
Not sure when that video was recorded since no date but Happy Retirement and stay safe.
I wonder how long his career was on motorcycle? I can't imagine it was his entire 24 year career. But if so, then DAMN, that's quite a run!
I read a really eye-opening article over a decade ago about an MSF safety instructor taking the CHP motor training. He went into it pretty confident that he'd do well; he knew he'd probably be challenged, but was pretty certain he'd do fine. Well, he was blown away at how hard it was and what skill level they require CHP motor officers to attain. It was no cake walk for this very experienced motorcycle rider and instructor. From what I understand, it's lots and lots of slow-speed handling and balance training to operate in tight spaces. In addition to high-speed proficiency as well (obviously). So that left quite an impression on me and I have even more respect for officers out there on two wheels. (Which also explains why you see LE on bikes at their training facilities spending hours and hours riding tight circles and maneuvers in parking lots full of traffic cones.)
Simple Sport driving training beats all of CHP
Nothing but respect for you CHP officers and especially a lot for you Motor Officers! Congrats on your retirement. Any more ride alongs available with you as a retired guy on a motorcycle? Also, do you get to keep that cool bike? Or would you rather ride something else? So, what is your big boy toy of choice in retirement? Anyway, it was fun watching this video and you will NEVER see me riding my bike down the freeway at a 100+. THANKS FOR YOUR 29 YEARS AND GOD BLESS IN YOUR RETIREMENT!! (Pls think about writing a book - it would be very interesting to read your chronicles).
When I’m driving and not doing anything illegal I still panic when I see a CHP car or motorcycle lol
The Motor Officer was Flex’N a Bolex or Lolex or Nolex. Either way when you officer comes to your vehicle window and he’s got a Rolle on, you will have no trouble and may get a picture.
HAPPYS THANKSGIVING TODAY FESTIVO 2019 CHIP RIDE PATROL BENDICIONES 🇺🇸
I love the music!
I didn’t know that UPS has motorcycles.. jk good job out there gents and gals!
I was a SoCal native for 26 years. My general experience with the CHP & most other PD’s after being pulled over is my initial attitude with the officer determines their attitude with me. Don’t try to BS them, they’ve heard it B4 and ain’t buying crap you’re trying to sell.
Get paid to ride! Man that's a GREAT career.
Many years ago 1980's I was 18 driving up the 405 seen this CHP motorcycle it was a Harley going so fast he was weaving around and through traffic like an art form tell he was in the zone. That big Harley he had to use entire body leaning way over cool watching him. I had seen sport bikes split lanes to see this big heavy road bike probably was 1970's technology.
Texas state troopers don’t do traffic break for debris on the roads at all. We would just ran over the debris. I move here from California and they don’t give ticket for unsafe lane change also.
This speed monitoring equipment reminds me about James bond 007 in real world.
I can just see the chips 99 theme playing
I love Contra Costa County! I love Walnut Creek!!!!
"i thought it would be more effective" seeing as mercedes drivers view tickets as Premium Driving Reciepts you're porbably right
I like the CHP motorcycle cop !
y cant most CHP officers be this cool I've meet 4 so far the rest acted as if they did want to be at work that day
Great Officer
Hope to join the chp when I can !
Funny!! GOOD LUCK IN THE FUTURE; there's a lot more to do, you're young, im 73 and still working.
When working at Ukiah Airport, I flew with CHP in C185 along Hwy 20. Why? Double yellow line infractions. Too much fun.
Nice job. I just don't see a lot of (2) anti-collision/Warning lights on the back of that bike when you are pulled over in the ROW. Stay Safe.....
Pretty cool officer 👍🏻
Good man! 2:53 Cool!
I live in cali and I like cops! They saved me
