Great video! The one comment I would make is about the shock setting chart from Viking. That table was written with lighter street/strip cars in mind and not necessarily these heavy trucks. I always recommend starting with the C value a few clicks higher than the R and somewhere in the middle. So I would say try something like a 10C and 7R and see what you think from there. For racing in 4wd for front shocks, youll want the Rebound very higher and the compression very low, something like 15R 5C to start. You want to keep the front from lifting but also let it go down and settle easily.
Hey, glad to get AFP's compliments! I remember you telling me that in an email and I completely forgot about it. I pinned your comment for anyone else looking into the swap. I'm gonna change the settings today and see how it feels. Thanks for the info! Time to get some AFP motor mounts for the 6.0 swap coming soon 🤘
Oh nice, I never hear anything bad about bilsteins. I have a 6in flip kit now. And it rides like garbage, super bouncy. And it needs a 6° shim to fix the pinion angle. So I was thinking about doing 4link and coilover setup.
Thank you, I appreciate it! The truck has been down for a year. Currently finishing up on a built 6.0 swap, 4l80e, AWD, nitrous, and drag wheels. Should have some new content here soon!
Damn that QS Bed looks killer on a RCSB! Great work man! For the camber issue, I'd run Moog Rk80826 "Problem Solver" Uppers. Flip ball joint, then flip UCA. The angle of the ball joint will be PERFECT for lowered trucks.
Thank you, I appreciate it 🤘 super happy with how the bed turned out. So your saying the ball joint and UCA will be upside down, and the ball joint stud will go up through the spindle?
@@TheKingCoopa lol. I thought that at first too. No....flip the ball joint in the control arm...then mount control arm with ball joint facing down. In turn, thats flipping the upper too. Lol.
@@TheMazdamn ahhhhhhhhh, I understand now haha. That was blowing my mind. I have the IHC control arms, to solve my issue, but definitely some cool knowledge to pass on for some people trying to save money!

Thank you, I appreciate it! I've been looking for a donor truck and at the junk yards. To do an oem power windows/lock swap. Every single cab has been manual windows haha. I could pull one from an extended cab, but the BCM wouldn't be right. The roll cage is a little annoying with the crank windows haha. I'll find one eventually haha.
Thanks for sharing this information, do you think I can install an intek like the one you put in the video to a 2004 silverado 4.8L, I would really appreciate it if you could give me information
How is it holding up, handling today, 4 months later? I have been looking at doing this kit for my Yukon Denali for some time now, but haven't seen many YT videos on the install. Yours is great and very informative. Also, what do you have on the rear, just lowering springs or? And, what transfer case are you running?
Hey, they have been doing pretty good. I dont run the truck in the winter time, and its currently on Jackson's getting a 6.0/4l80e swap right now. Check out LSX Matt. He does another indepth video about the coilovers on his tahoe/yukon. For the rear, I have a mcgaughys 6in flip kit, and a trick'd toys underbed notch. I currently have a NP241 4x4 transfer case. But I'll be switching to the NVG149 AWD transfer case. Thanks for the support 🤘
A big lip is definitely what I want. Billets would look really nice, I have been looking into some wide weld racing wheels, since it will eventually be AWD on nitrous. Its a dog with the heavy 22s on it now. But either way, it is gonna end up being about 4k for new wheels and tires. I'm trying to buy a rental property right now, so new wheels Definitely aren't in the budget lol. But when I do get them, I won't have to cut the diff. With the wide quadrasteer bed, I'll just have to remove the 3in wheel spacers I'm currently running. 🤘
Hey, I can't justify the difference, because I've never had coils. Im sure its better than stock just on the adjustability aspect. If you were planning on running higher HP I'd definitely recommend them. But it was a night and day difference from torsion bars. The rancho 9000 or some nice bilsteins I've herd are always great shocks
@@JoshDaaang its pretty easy, if you need to make a large adjustment, you unbolt the A arm, and spin the clevis in or out, bolt it back up. Then use the factory camber plates for fine tuning/alignment.
How does it ride ?? By doing this conversion, do you get less feedback from the road ? I know these trucks get a bad shake from rough roads . I’m thinking about going coilover on my ext cab .
Hey, the last 5min of the video is me test driving the truck and changing the compression/rebound settings on the shocks. They are a night and day difference over the torsion bars. I dont want to say you get "less feedback", you obviously still feel stuff in the road, but it handles and performs so much better. Bumps and pot holes handle better. I dont notice any bump steer. But It also depends what you have the shock settings at. Medium settings it rides nice, but cranked up to drag race settings, you can feel every line in the asphalt lol

Nice video, have you gotten the ride quality dialed in? I’m considering this mod except on a 2WD, but have been hesitant, mainly wanting to know if the ride quality would be bette than the McGaugheys drop spindles I have currently
Hey, I adjusted the settings again, after posting this video. Went a little higher on the settings, it does ride pretty well. Im impressed with them. It was a huge improvement over the torsion bars. But I can't justify for the 2wd springs to coilovers. I dont think it will be as drastic of a change. As for the drop spindles, that shouldn't really effect the ride quality that much. Your suspension geometry still stays the same, it just raises your wheel higher on the spindle. I have drop spindles on mine as well. But to sum up my opinion, If it's a performance truck, go with the coilovers. If its just a daily, I dont think the gains over the 2wd springs would be worth the price. Hope that helps some, thanks for the support!
Hey, the current wheels and tires i bought from custom offsets.com they mount, balance, and ship to your house. Easy to use website, but their quality assurance department is trash. The tires I have are some Michelins all season tires (back when I used to daily this truck in the winter) If you have a street truck, I'd look for more of a performance tire
Hey, im about a 4/6 drop right now. 2in drop spindles and about 1 or 2in from the coilovers. Mine can adjust down atleast another inch or two. But it ultimately depends on your goals and what your setup is. You can message AFP and he will spec you out a coilover size for what drop your wanting. He can even do longer coilovers for lifted setups.
Hey, the UCAs were pretty straight forward. Once installed, I didn't really think it needed a whole video for it. For the AWD, I filmed it, but haven't had the time to edit it yet.
