Alyssa opening the video when I expected to see Kyle was an unexpected surprise! 😆
With each video she is getting better and better in show business...
I liked that she was talking for a while and giving input. Not every commentary has to be "tech related"
Agree! It's nice to have her engagement in the videos more. I enjoy her perspective. Keep it up!
Nice touch. Something to look forward to!
Glad to see a Kyle and Alyssa roadtrip video again....just like old times....my favorites.
Same!
Alyssa, you're personally is shining ✨️. I like to give Kyle a hard time, but watch all the videos. You two make a great team.
Also, Alyssa's enthusiasm seems to have gone up a notch, bravo!
The light lets you see and take action verses being surprised and not being prepared!
Last video I watched about a new charger by firehouse with no lights he was complaining about how unsafe and sketchy he felt.
You are 100% correct regarding light…..I am surprised Kyle was even questioning this point.
I appreciate that the Model 3 is being kept, I think I have more of an emotional connection to that car than Kyle after watching years of videos on it 😂
I was sad to hear it was being sold lol
What a pity a Tesla with high mileage behaves like an old iPhone: older it gets glitchier it becomes. I wish at least some EVs of today will keep some collectible value in years to come the way cars from 50ties and 60ties have it today.
@@nevco8774 Weren't we told that EVs will last longer than ICE as they get older because they need less maintenance, or was this Tesla just a lemon?
@@Superman-xr1oh As a car Tesla is quite flimsy. It has a too demanding computer in it draining actively the battery just by doing weird calculations. Thus this dtainage of the battery is called vampire drain. Even having low mileage a Tesla in time (several years) will chew the battery capacity by vampire drain. Now you have it: a gadget instread of a car which was designed not to last in the first place.
@@nevco8774 So it's basically a tablet with a car attached to it, lol.
I think hearing more of Alyssa thoughts on the charging networks lighting, safety, ect is good. Its providing a different perspective, let’s see more of that as well please ! The opening was really great as well.
Lighting does add an element of safety to a site 100%. Well lit areas are less likely to be frequented by people with ill intent because people/things are more visible so more likely to be seen if they attempt to commit a crime.
Love the trusty old Model 3 road trips! This is the channel I watched to learn how to road trip my Model 3. Thanks for the EV education!
Great timing, Tesla has brought their pricing back to a reasonable price, so should be great to show everyone how easy it is to road trip in a Tesla!
They need to lower the prices further.
Great video. The Tesla road trip videos are the best, just like the old days. Do more if these!
Hey Alyssa! Always good to see you in the videos!!
Thank you for your videos.. I bought my M3LR in Sept and drove from MA to FL and back with no problems! You guys have def helped me out! 😊
My opinion on lighting is that it allows you to see more hazards than without light. So it's not just safety for crime and being able to see who is around, but safety moving around as well in case there are obstacles in the parking lot. If humans could see at night better, it would be a wash, of course.
Watching these amazing road-trip videos makes me want to go on a road trip!
I’ve missed the Tesla road trips with you guys. Stoked to follow along!
Alyssa is such a W for putting up with us nerds
Love the long Tesla road trip videos! Great job as always guys.
It actually reached 256kW at 21:28
Björn in his last video pointed that that it’s not likely a Tesla will actually do more then 250 into the battery. If you use scanmytesla obd you will see the screen charging rate is actually 5-7 kw above what’s the obd is showing going into the battery. So it’s 250 into the battery and 7 kw to the hvac and car systems
I love watching your road trip videos.
reminds me of your 2020 videos and thats when i started following your channel. Great work as always guys !
Nice to see you guys back in the Model 3 road trippin’. Love all of your content, but this reminds me of why I started following your channel(s)to begin with. Great video!
I believe that light does reduce risk in that areas to hide unseen are reduced giving increased awareness and response time.
Me, a European, watching a road trip to Vegas. “Running studded winter tires” surprised me a LITTLE when you only picture Vegas as a city being in a barren desert wasteland. However, it made much more sense when you mentioned the Rocky mountains 😂
Enjoyed this trip. Keep up the great work guys!
Love your road trip videos !
Need more Alyssa opening videos, she has a voice made for NPR very calming. Kyle def married up in life lol
Are they married? One of their recent videos seemed like they'd split up? 🤷
Great to see a Tesla road trip again! reminder for folks: Performance normally come w/ summer tires, do NOT do winter/cold/snow trips on the OEM summer tires, dangerous lack of traction and even possibility of failure (brittle rubber in cold)! Get all-season/weather or winter tires!
(and, yes, make sure your wiper fluid is full :) )
PS I also always carry a little spray bottle of distilled water, and a couple micro-fiber cloths, to clean windshields, windows, bug/bird poo, and...
rearview camera :) (I'm going to try the super-hydrophobic lens cover from Abstract Ocean, see if it helps in rain..)
I've never, never, had summer tires get brittle in winter. Been driving for over 50 years. Not sure where you got that from.
Have a nice day.
I used to get out of my old '64 Beetle in the winter and throw snow on the windshield to help the wipers out. My, how times have changed.
@@papadave9061 I got it from many tire maker and other tire expert websites, Michelin, Continental, TireRack, etc... this is more about performance sport summer tires, not general summer... they are softer rubber than older ones maybe...
Love the Model 3 trips!
I love a good Tesla road trip. Glad you guys decided to keep your Model 3.
love the calm fast and cannon ball charging/roadtrip profile options idea !
Great video Kyle and Alyssa love your road trip video keep up the great content
She is right, lights help you identify problems, you can see what is going on around you and help you make good decisions.
We're planning on doing a cross country road trip in our 2017 Model X 75D from Toronto > Vancouver > Vegas > Toronto this July, so thanks for posting this vid as I now have a better idea on how the chargers are going from Vegas to Toronto. Very helpful.
I love the Tesla roadtrips
I love watching your videos . Greetings from Norway 🙂👍
Lol Kyle as a retired long-haul truck driver, who went through Green River mini mini times. The green river officers are bored. They’re looking for something to do don’t break the speed limit!! you’re correct.
this model3 is the OG, the one we all started following after all of these years, so think of it as this channel 's mascot.
Kyle harassing Allyssa about panning too fast and then he hops out and swings the camera all around the parking lot.. lol
I was at Cedar City the same week you went through. We hit it around 3am and FYI. There is a security guard that won’t let people
Sleep in the lot. You can also use the porta potty behind the gas station. They prefer that over going behind the battery. Cheers!
I love your road trip vids
"One of us should be watching" 😂 Funny Lady !!!!!!!
Great video. More road trips in the old girl please!
Love it. After Rivian towing trips, and Lucid Cannonball, I want to see a Tesla trip, to my favorite place in the world , my home town, Las Vegas : )
Any recent gas station build I’ve seen are lot up like a stadium. Alyssa’s opinion is valid women do not like dark stops and certainly not ones you sit at for a better part of an hour.
You *could* clean the backup camera lens, lol
Kum & Go is my life motto
Still waiting for that first time Kyle says “ yes Alisa you are correct “
First time watching but he gave a hole vibes to his girl… a couple times. I can tell she deals with it.
100% agree… he dismisses almost every said
Good video introduction by the Passenger Princess. 🙂
Really love these road trip videos. Man road tripping with a Tesla is just so pleasant eh?
The pepper spray joke sent me 😂(Peace be Still/Steel) thats the Tx version 😂 really enjoyed the video and this gives me hope that my pack will indeed last way longer than I thought 💭
The obstructed windshield gave me flashbacks to your early roadtrips to wyoming etc. 😵💫
How nice to see Alyssa.
Funny, he mentioned lights on his last video next to the fire station. I think a well lit area is important. He has a short term memory 🤓
Ok, at 48:30 he is now talking about lights near supercharger. He sees it as a problem, that's why he mentions it. He questions it when she mentions it??
Your low range has nothing to do with battery degradation. 1st your studded tires are killing it due to rolling resistance. 2nd cold weather reduced battery capacity. 3rd heating can use 1kwh every 10-15 minutes when it's very cold outside.
He also mentioned that all the aero shields are missing under the car.
AND a modified/softened suspension. I’m honestly impressed it’s doing as well as it did.
at end of video, when they compare 600mi vs 831mi, when you first enter a destination it quickly gives distance as crow flies, then changes to distance via roads. So might have been 600mi via crow, and 831 via roads.
I've learned that to see your arrival percentage at the next supercharger stop in the energy app, you first have to press "Continue Trip" in the nav. 51:05
Great video!! Would love to see a road trip in a Cadillac Lyriq, seems like it would be very comfortable for a long trip!
Ok. Now I heard him say you are right Alisa. Good you Kyle
At some point with this M3 you should go through the process of having the battery replaced to document the procedure, cost, and end result.
Jeeze… the battery only has 120k miles on it. Way too young to have that degradation
@@tangoESPECIAL Generally yes, but they have abused it Out of Spec style.
At your Richfield, Utah stop if you have the resistive heaters off instead of at 81 degrees would you see 120-150kw?
Some do it yourselfers use a homemade deicing solution made of one part isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol and two parts water.
The isopropyl alcohol sold in stores ranges from 50 to 90 percent purity.
Higher purity provides a lower freezing point and better deicing capability.
If the supercharger stations are mixed with V2 and V3 then it should be marked with an metal plate stating a version number : 150 or 250.
If it’s stated as a 250 station, but it’s a mix station then new customers would definitely be frustrated with the lack of information about the station.
Tesla battery information is key for owners to understand how to make the most efficient way for their long distance trips etc.
Kyle and Alyssa, my model Y lost 21% of range on top of typical cold weather losses after I installed pirelli sottozero 3 snow tires. Went from 290kw/mi to 355kw/mi on a 30 mile loop test with the snows 😞 Great traction but range loss...
Wow, you have the heat jacked up in there! 81!
Good to know you're keeping the Model 3 after getting the Plaid.
Can’t wait for your video reviewing the lift kit for the M3. Thing it impacts range that much? How does the ride height feel compared to a model y?
I also try to avoid Grand Junction SC. Honestly hate having to hit up the Green River one also. That one really needs to upgrade to v3
Very curious to hear about the MPP comfort suspension. Biggest complaint about my Model 3 is the overly harsh suspension, even just on the long range model. Biggest reason I didn’t buy the performance model was that the suspension was even worse.
We had a 2019 (I think) Model 3 mid range while our 2022 M3LR was in the shop getting some electrical issues fixed this winter. I was expecting the RWD car to be more efficient than our AWD one, but it was actually substantially less efficient, especially as it got below freezing. My partner commutes about 40mi one way every night to do overnight shifts at work, and during freezing temps, he usually sees about 300-320wh/mi. In the 2019 M3MR, he was getting 380-400wh/mi driving the same route at around 25F. Was blown away how inefficient it was. The only 2 things I could think of on the M3MR that may negatively impact its efficiency vs our 2022 M3LR was that it had the 19” sport wheels and a PTC heater. I’m guessing the PTC heater was the biggest thing negatively impacting the efficiency, but I was blown away how much of an effect it had.
I’m not sure if you’ve shown it, but I’d like to see an update range test on your M3P and show how much power it shows you’ve consumed. Either that or use one of the services available (like Tessie) to show how much battery capacity you have left.
I am very concerned about range here just off I-70 Lil Apple Manhattan Ks 120 mi to KC, 130 mi to Wichita 130 mi Lincoln NB, 500 mi to Denver, there are plenty O superchargers heading E and W, I really want a Model 3 AWD LR (358mi), so glad you took this trip in the winter (worst case) you face even lower temps than us, worst I ever saw was -17 deg (whew) however seeing your trip I could make it, compared to you it’s very flat here just a few hills…love the pressure you guys are putting on the charger network they need to step up, BTW you are the deciding factor when my friends disagree about EV facts, I listen to Out of Spec, luv u guys, also I like Alyssa’s perspective as well in the vids…peace
At least all Electrify America stations are located at WalMart where not to find windshield fluid is almost impossible. Maybe that is why Kyle never bothered about filling it in the car since he was driving CCS cars for a while now. It looks like Superchargers located close to Target have an advantage with washer fluid supply.
I like my water in spec, thank you.
I got my windshield washer fluid at Helmart.
Nice video.!Norway roadtrip up soon?
Cuttin' it close at Green River! From that point… I've charged at those same sites many-a-time.
This is a great advertisement for a traditional gasoline vehicle.
How much does it cost to drive a gas car for 120k miles?
Maybe reduce the cabin temp by 20deg to increase range in cold weather..!! youve got heated seats as well....
Woo, can't wait to watch this one but when is the arctic circle one coming out?
Hi great video . Just like that if the backup camera is dirty cant you just wipe it with a clothe ? Also does the studded tires affect the range somehow ?
Out of Spec A.D.D. Style charging. Hop, hop, hop all around.
What service requests did you make on the Model 3? Asking for advice for when mine gets to the end of its warranty.
I like your guys as a couple you really get on it’s nice to see but London hasn’t got a lot of charging stations like you have in America
Can you elaborate more on what you said at 20:24 regarding the pin staying inactive when its below freezing?
I just bought a tesla model 3 long range a month ago in October! I get at 100% 285 miles on a long range! So I'm not charging it tonight and now my milage is going up so is the battery percentage lol 😮😊😅 love ❤it!
Does the snow on car affect range (how much)?
Good job on conceding the light argument with the Lisa. You were out in front of your headlights imo
The old gal seems to be holding up well. The Tesla charging wrinkles still seem minor compared with the CCS nightmares.
lol it's okay guys don't truly understand not being safe in a lot of situations that women feel unsafe, but Alyssa I believe most women feel the same as you do 👍
Need to pack heat on those road trips.
Kyle and Alyssa - how does the white leather interior do after high miles? It looks pretty good from my end. Does it maintain as good as the black over time?
It's not leather
cool road trip and the easy of tesla charging vs ea lol
Kyle, would be great to see you mention how Tesla is now giving newly specced S Plaids a yoke or circle steering wheel option
What is with the easy entry profile on the model 3?
I agree Kyle, Richfield, Ut is the worst SC station I've been to in Utah. I have the CCS adapter and so use the EA station at the Walmart instead.
I know both the Salt Lake to Vegas, and the Green River to 8-15 parts of the route pretty well (I'm in SLC). Although, I"ve never done that in a Tesla (Had CCS cars before). Need to make a trip to Vegas on my new Model Y LR
So, essentially you got a "performance all-wheel-drive" standard range model 3? :) Though, the RWD Model 3 is pretty darn efficient, may get more range than this car?
Mesquite is a favorite place to stop on the Way to California (let the car top off and eat at one of the Buffets)
Warms my heart to hear the word Schmutz more than once in this video 😀
so they allow studded tires in Arizona???
I don’t think I could deal with Stop/Start charging you Need to have the patience of a saint
You don't have to do it like that. This is definitely the quickest way though
Any trouble with touch screens in any e cars
how is it to come rolling in to las vegas on studded tires? :D
