Special thanks to my good friend of over 10 years, Indy from IS Motor Racing in Rockdale, Sydney.

When you said something was wrong i was hoping that pan was all good

@@aussie1926 yeah the pan is all good! Actually we found that this pan is slightly different from the newer ones - the new ones have an additional baffle that goes near the oil pump. The older ones didn’t have that - doesn’t anything though as my oil pan is now baffled

Great video series. Upper oil pan looked kind of dirty with sealant still on the mating surface. Does that really matter? I’m looking to assemble my motor soon and these videos give great insight and are a good resource for the community.

Thanks dude, hopefully it does help people. The pan was thoroughly cleaned but what you’re seeing with the sealants is actually stains from the previous sealant that was on there. I had used gasket scraper before install and we wiped it down with brake cleaner and made sure the mating surface was flat and no sealant was left at all.

Also a magnesium sump. So they look grotty after a while.
If it was the one I had it had been hotwashed.

Coincidence? I was thinking about getting the same oil pan too. Didn't realize there was an extension. Quick question, is installing the extension while the motor is still in the car possible? Looks like is.

@@TeamCupNoodles-nn9og it’s a beautiful piece and yes absolutely you can install it while the motor is still in the car just remove old pan then remove the suction pipe that’s connected to the oil pump add the extension (you won’t need to reuse the metal gasket) and then add the suction pipe to the extension then bolt new pan on. Might take max 20 mins but then you’ll also need to trim the under tray.

@@gapzlaGTR awesome! You reminded me of something else too. I have the Z1 undertray. It had a cutout to make oil change easier. I wonder if the cutout is enough of an opening for the oil pan.
