Personally, I have never regretted leaving the care home, I’m even being paid higher here than the care home, Overtime here is double salary, so no need to do agency. However, I was in her situation when I was in Chelmsford financially, but moving to Nottingham has been the best decision I’ve ever made here in the Uk, so I will say I think it’s just about finding the right trust and department ( I always tell people to join specialties that will give them enhanced rates as well) cos I’m currently doing a Bsc that is funded by them at Nottingham Trent university (those in the care homes are funding their own studies and their studies is even done online). I work in the nhs i earn over 2300 a month. I work at least 15 days in the month if so much and sometimes 9 to 11 if I take leave. We are encouraged to book annual leave regularly. My contracted hrs are 37.5 and I make sure it is kept within that range and never go over. I get 4 days request off every month and I work mostly 3 times a week with the odd 4 days and 2 days sometimes. If you are really smart sometimes we add the request days off with our annual leave to extend the days we are actually off for. If you do not like your hours you can change to early or late shifts. The rates are different for nights, bank holidays and weekends. I have different working incentives at my trust like overtime which is 19 pounds an hr and bank which ranges from 22 to 45 pounds an hr depending on the rates at whatever time. All NHS are different none are the same and I believe that people should definitely be aware of this. I have colleagues who are in the NHS however at a different trust and the incentive rates are very much different to ours. I think if you go into this just seeking money you will never be happy where ever you go. Find somewhere that actually works for you. It has so many fields of nursing and we continue to fit ourselves in that common bracket.

However, even as HCA you can earn 3k comfortably by doing bank shifts after your contract hour. I did earn 3k (salary+bank) as a HCA and again that's if you choose your employer diligently. As a few people have said, it all depends on what you want. The NHS is a service, care homes/ private hospitals are businesses. If you are planning to stay in the UK, you must look beyond your “now” salary. The NHS pension and holiday policy is second to none. If you actually sit down and work out what the take home is working in the NHS with some o/t or bank, compared to working just agency, now with IR35, it’s not that different. You have to take into account that working agency you don’t get holidays, sick pay etc

hmmm Nanelle this thing,.. is it possible to do NHS full time and do part time at care home , so that you get the exposure and advancement as well as make extra money ?
You'll need to check your contracts with the NHS and other employers. It's tiring working in the NHS both physically and mentally, so my advice is don't overwork yourself. You'll probably end up working extended shifts if someone's sick and you'll need rest so you avoid making mistakes with meds. NMC is run by corporates not nurses...

Can she work as a assistant nurse in any hospital in UK on a dependent visa. She has not given OET test. She is a registered nurse in India. I would appreciate your reply
Normally, your training would include placements which will be organised by the university that's for undergraduate but not sure if it's the same with the top up. However l think if you have to make a choice, go to the hospital for your training as the care you would provide plus the experience cannot be compared with the care home. I hope this helps

@@hmull4882 ok I don't know why your response was so bad tempered as I was informing you as apprenticeships in nursing are new. So I was trying to help. Never said that is for everyone, I instead tried to help. There was no need for you to get sensitive and highly strung over me trying to be nice to you and help you !!!!
This was so inspiring.
Thanks so much guys♥️♥️🙏🏾🙏🏾
Hey love do you mind doing a video sharing nursing agencies you know about please
Hi dear there’s one already on the channel please watch this video ua-cam.com/video/T4no9zMzWc4/v-deo.html
Thanks ❤️
Tosin, nice to see you here again. I believe it depends on individual choice. However, your analysis will be a guide to someone out there. Nanelle keep it up.

Thanks sis
amazing content as usual... Nanelle I get this feeling that Nurses are mostly talked about.. how about other medical profession and their pay scale where do they fit in? Nursing is not for everyone and are there career prospects for others like Public health, pharmacology etc
Hi dear …. Will do 🙏🏽

Before I comment allow me to admire your glow🌟 eish you ladies look boom💥 😍🔥thank you for the guide now I know where am working from 💃🏾❤️
Hahahaaaaa . Thanks darling
I remember last Thursday, one man was telling me, you are so young, why are you not in the NHS?
I was like please I don't want to be doing hand to mouth. Plus I have got children to take care of 😂😂😂
Hand to mouth 😅
@@NanelleGriselda yeah, because if I am not able to do agency work or more over time due to child care I get to take home what will only take care of my bills. Chai, Lai Lai I am not doing o. Maybe I might change my mind later but for now NO!!!😃😃😃

Thank you Nanelle for the information, I really appreciate alot 🤗
Hello, please, I would like to ask if Nigerians can still apply for care assistant jobs in the UK. A friend in the UK discouraged me and said Nigerians are no longer being accepted.
You can apply for the jobs from Dubai but not sure about the visa though
Thank you for your response. I appreciate
Does this mean it's true that Nigerians can't apply for this tier 2 visa?
Sorry, when you say apply from Dubai; do you mean one should be living in Dubai before application
Work in more cosmopolitan areas in the UK, such as London, as there can b some r*"':;!? in more southern areas...sad but true...

For some with kids coming in as a healthcare assistant which is better, NHS or Care home ?
Yeah, I'd like to find out as well
Thank you Nanelle, as always, great video
I think it all depends on the perspective from which you’re viewing your options. In all, nobody can truly tell you what to do. It depends on a lot of factors that culminate in CHOICE and what’s convenient for you.
@@tosinolagboye8590 True , but for someone there already you can give advice. It will help in decision making.
I don't think it's possible to earn £85 a year in a nursing home. It could be possible if you work 365 shifts a year, each shift being 14 hrs.
Tosin is smart and brilliant, nice video as always Nanelle
Thanks dear
Hello Nanelle, there are so many experiences about the NHS.I just wanted to ask if these also includes doctors?would you say it's the same experience for doctors at the NHS?I honestly haven't seen a positive comment from most people at the NHS.Lol
For me, I’ve seen more comments and videos on nhs being good and better.
Will research on that
I like you and Tosin...keep up the energy!!

hmmm Nanelle this thing,.. is it possible to do NHS full time and do part time at care home , so that you get the exposure and advancement as well as make extra money ?
My question too, I want advancement, but I want money too
yes,you can do Agency, that will send you to Carehomes
Oh yes it’s very possible
You'll need to check your contracts with the NHS and other employers. It's tiring working in the NHS both physically and mentally, so my advice is don't overwork yourself. You'll probably end up working extended shifts if someone's sick and you'll need rest so you avoid making mistakes with meds.
NMC is run by corporates not nurses...
I enjoy every aspect of your videos because it's genuine/ true talk. Thanks Tosin.God bless you Nanelle.

Hello Nanelle, Liked the video. Hv a question. I am a student in UK and my wife will be joining me shortly on a dependent visa. She will be free to work anywhere in UK on a dependent visa. Can she work as a assistant nurse in any hospital in UK on a dependent visa. She has not given OET test. She is a registered nurse in India. I would appreciate your reply
Yes she can . She doesn’t need Ielts or OET since she’s a dependent
Hey Nanelle, can someone work in a care home as he or she is doing a top up degree in Nursing from a diploma?
Or it's strictly a hospital???
Normally, your training would include placements which will be organised by the university that's for undergraduate but not sure if it's the same with the top up. However l think if you have to make a choice, go to the hospital for your training as the care you would provide plus the experience cannot be compared with the care home. I hope this helps
Thank you for this useful information.
You’re welcome dear
Hello Nanelle
I know unlike NHS you can apply with band 6 for homecare jobs.
Is it possible to switch to NHS after sometime or you'll have to write ielts to improvecthe score
No please you CAN’T APPLY WITH BAND 6 FOR CAREHOMES AS A NURSE !!!! It’s STRICTLY BAND 7 AND AT LEAST 6.5 IN WRITING REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOURE IN A CAREHOME OR NHS
Hi Nanelle, am your new subscriber. Any tips for other professions especially lawyers?
Use your knowledge of law to help nurses at NMC hearings, which are trials. Most ar probably whistleblowers...
Teach nurses legal and 'court room' skills: how to protect themselves from bullies, narcissists (managers), dishonest regulatory/disciplinary prosecution lawyers. Avoid working for KNLLP,BDBPittsLLP who are Corrie...
