One of the biggest downfalls are you don’t know where or how far your going until once you start scanning you have a 3.5 hr shift but the first stop might be a hour away Amazon is smart by not telling you up front because they know a lot of these blocks wouldn’t be picked for the money there paying
True I did one this morning thinking g it was gone be in the area come to find out my last stop come back was 52 freaking minutes, like wouldn't you think that they would have someone I. That area to do that block such a waste of gad
this make me never wanna do this job at all. way to far out to drive over 100 miles for such little pay. I cant be not knowing where im going before accepting it.
So, I just did my first day, from the same facility up to the West Side of Indpls. 3.5 hours 26 Stop, 74 miles from start/finish, $76. After inlcuding cost of gas, milage reimburstment, FICA Tax, Income Tax, everything, I avg $15.74/Hr. In my opinion, compared to the long term wear and tear on your vechile (which is a lonterm liability) it's not worth it. Go work at your local gas station or Mcdonalds to make the same amount and still have flexibility of schedule. (Neither of which I plan on doing.)
I decided the same thing. I can stay at Target for $15 an hour on the On Demand program, and choose my shifts there as well! My vehicle already has 200,000 miles 😂
Of course not.. I can tell by your comment you’re one of those people who will always find an excuse to convince yourself and others as to why you won’t do something. You remind me of someone I know who quit their job because they weren’t getting promoted after 4 months… they’ve been jobless for over a year now. Same vibes all excuses.

Hubby and i do this before and after our main jobs so 2 blocks a day and in 2 weeks we made $1200 if you are able to take more blocks a day then you can easily double that. We usually take the 3 hour blocks and it really takes us about 2 finish the route.
You did a very good job explaining Amazon Flex. As a 65 years old retired vet, I love the flexibility of working Amazon Flex, it gives me something to do when I’m not busy at home.
Thank you so much! Congrats on being retired, my parents are too! Right, it just gives you the flexibility and something to do. Thank you for watching!
Best way to make it worth is to, 1. NEVER take base pay, aim for surges. 2. Have a fuel efficient car. 3. Helps a lot to live close to a warehouse. 4. Organize ypur route, so u are not wasting time.
You can get packages under 10 but u driving about an hour away. I honestly stop because I didn’t like not knowing where I was going. One time I was at a stop were my phone lost connection. It was a scary, secluded mud road wooded area. They had cages all on the property big dog barking. I hurried up and got out. Lol
I do Amazon Flex but I only accept Whole Foods Deliveries. The pay with Tips are much better. Sometimes you don't get many deliveries and you have to go greater distances. However, if you do it for a while you will tend to know where the best routs and times are. Thanks for the video.
Right! I will be uploading my first Amazon Fresh Online block and honestly thats my new favorite block they offer because of how short it is and you can earn tips. Thank you so much for watching!
For that package that had the yellow sticker over the barcode at 4:00, you can actually either type in the address, name or TBA number in the same search bar to find the stop number OR it’s actually easier if you scan that single QR code above where it says “cycle 1” that’s actually the one I use.
Hey good video! I also work Amazon Flex and I have a tip for you. The package that had the yellow sticker covering the barcode, you could also scan the QR code or if neither of those scan you can manually type in the TBA number on the yellow sticker and the package order will come up that way too. Have a good day 😊
That's smart, unfortunately we don't see those too much nor have I been able to snag one that isn't for 3:30am in the morning lol. But hopefully I can grab a high paying one in the near future. Thank you for watching!
My first day was HORRIBLE. Had 47 packages. 5 of the delivery locations were inaccessible (on top of mountain, all the way in the field behind house, all the way in the forest). An old man took a picture of my license plate because his delivery location was in the forest and I was contacting support to mark it “Delivered”. And the majority of the drive was 1 bar in cell service, which made the block a lot LONGER.
Oh no I am so sorry about that. Yea Amazon Flex is a hit or miss when it comes to the block location and amount of packages. But that's crazy though. I hope your other blocks go better. Thanks for watching!
I drive for my business too. Mileage is considered a standard deduction. In order to write off other things like maintenance, repairs, etc. you have make an itemized deduction. You can’t do both. And, you can’t flip flop back and forth between the two. The one you start with you have to continue with. If your tax preparer says you can, get a new one. Your tax preparer should give you a rough estimate of the self-employment taxes that you have to pay quarterly based upon the average you think you’ll make for the year. The last thing you want is the IRS to call you to the office for an audit. If that happens find a great tax attorney!
So an idea I have as a previous school bus driver the way we drive our route, is driving to the furthest pickup location to pickup our kids. So switching to Amazon flex your 46 packages once you number them on the box by drop off order 1 thru 46 start delivering the furthest one first so number 46 package by the time you get to number one package you should be close to home or Amazon building just in case you have to go back. Loved your content I may join
Hello! I have been doing Amazing Flex now going on 3 years. First, the warehouse I go to. We drive into the building. They scan our driver license before we enter the building. Most of the time, we can choose our own routes. I always choose what's close to me. Sometimes they give us our routes and yep, you do go up to an hour away from your home. Its a pain. My warehouse now has morning blocks with the evening blocks. So almost double the money. Morning blocks are as early as 3:15am but its worth it to me. Amazon Flex is easier than what some people say. Just relax and have fun.
Hey! Wow that's amazing and how great your warehouse is! I believe you are explaining regular Amazon blocks and not Sub Same Day. I have done and seen how regular Amazon blocks are and you are lucky to be able to pick yours when you can. For us, we can not. Also, we don't get a lot of offers, and thank you!
I don't think it's worth doing Amazon Flex because they pay you basically an hourly rate that is comparable to warehouse work and they don't take into consideration that you are private contractor and you are using your personal vehicle to deliver their products. What this does is it allows them to save on cost they don't have to pay for gas maintenance wear and tear on vehicles and it makes them make a larger profit by using us and our personal vehicles and our gas money
I been doing it in for over a month it’s so easy. I’m the metro Detroit area. It’s smooth the only bad thing is you just don’t know where you gone be until you get the route.
I advise you to deliver all pkgs even if you go over. They wil ding your acct for every pkg returned and lower your standing. If you go over you can call cust svc and you may get OT pay.
For those who dont no you can start your block 15 minutes early. Amazon is pretty on point with making sure that you will be done with your last stop 30-45 minutes before your actual block ends. That 30-45 minutes is usually 90% of the time enough time for you to make it home within your block time.
Just to clarify about tax deduction, you can only use mileage or costs. You cannot do both. If you choose mileage, you cannot deduct gas, car insurance...etc.
Thank you so much, I've watched plenty of your videos before starting any side hustle I've joined. I loved that video you just uploaded! Also what a fantastic series to start too! I appreciate this so much!!
I run routes for an Amazon DSP part time and that is the only way to go. The cost of running your own vehicle eats too far into earnings. You can also make a lot more per hour working for a DSP. You are still paid by the route like Flex but the vans are set up to deliver out. I believe you delivered 26 stops in 3 hours. I can deliver 30 to 35 in 1 hour. Last weekend I had 180 stops and finished in just over 5 hours. The route pays $185 in OKC so that's $37 a hour and you don't have to worry about your personal vehicle. DSPs are the way to go.
Not always I run Flex up here in the North east and DSP's up here (hourly wage not flat rate) will give you a 180 and when your finished they have you go grab bags from another driver to get your full daily hours in. So more work for nothing other then your 40 hr regular pay. Only found one DSP(no longer around) That no matter how long my rout took me I got paid the full day and they also only asked me to help with rescues when really needed like someone got hurt rolled an ankle or something. Even had one company when I first got into this they where taking flex routes from the DB and giving each of us a couple bags each from them and didn't pay anything more they didn't even tell us I found out from a dispatcher from there like a year later.
@Sophist990 maybe the labor laws are different in Oklahoma. If you are an hourly employee a company can do that but the DSPs here pay a flat rate for the routes. They can't ask you to pick up packages from another driver without paying you more. I've finished so early that I've offered to do rescues to make extra but they won't allow it.
Thank you for sharing that. My friends that worked for Amazon for a certain amount of time say different but I am glad you're enjoying it and it pays well for you! Thanks for watching!
@jayugly8284 I'm not trying to pick on you but if you're only averaging 21 stops an hour your doing something wrong. When I've trained people their average is better then that after the first few hours. I literally had that many stops this past Saturday and was done in 6.5 hours. The only reason it took that long was the person who picked my route (the person who sorts and packs the toats) did a horrible job putting it together.
The most important part is what type of car you have. If you have a small car then you can save money on gas, yet you can't take on large routes which can take longer, but will bring you bigger pay. If you have a large car you will spend more gas. I guess the best way to figure it out is to try it out at least once or twice and see what your results are. I have a large suv and so it fits easily over 60 packages. I will try and see how much an entire day will pay me to see if it's worth it.
when you calculating price per mile keep in mind truck drivers in company trucks get less than .50cpm so as a owner operator or contractor in a personal car i think anything over .50cmp is a win since gas is cheaper than diesel. Downside of things after expenses you really not making that much. In my area LR. AR all there is over nights at 70 dollars for 3.5 hrs so no over nights for me.
Flex is only good if you live close to the warehouse and have a truck or SUV. If you drive a car, the amount of off roading they expect you to do will tear it up underneath. I was in shock at some of the addresses they expected me to drop packages off at. lol Just put too many miles for too little money for my taste.
What a great video! You were so informative! I shared this with my nephew, who is contemplating doing the same job! FYI-when taking deductions for your vehicle, you can only do one of two things. Either the actual method which is gas, insurance, and repairs or the Standard method which is using the miles that you drove and getting whatever the governmental rate is for that year. You cannot do both. If you do the actual, you have to be prepared to keep all your receipts not only that if this job is your side hustle, you will not be able to deduct 100% of maintenance or insurance because you use the car for other purposes, you can only deduct the portion use for business purposes. So if you do Amazon flex 50% of the time than 50% can be deducted..
I read some Reddit post on the Amazon flex subreddit where someone said they put the stop number on the package label like you did and they got in so much trouble by the supervisor because apparently you're not supposed to write on the label. Especially if they have to be redelivered for some reason. So when that person got back to the facility and they saw the writing on the label, they had to bring the packages inside and relabel the packages. It could be different per area though. IIRC someone in comments said they write on their package labels and no one has ever mentioned anything about it.
Its worth it if you know how to run a route efficiently! There are times where the app will not show you the most effective sequence. You have to use your brain and run thr route the right way.. finish fast and it is worth it. Use up the entire projected time.. and then ita not worth it
I've been doing Uber deliveries (food) but this seems much more streamlined (pick up at warehouse and just go drop off). I like that a lot better than having to wait for food to be finished at restaurants.
the catch with this is most people drive with the same insurance they got when they bought their car, which you arent supposed to do. Most personal car insurance companies require you to purchase a commercial policy if you drive for a delivery company, and if you don't disclose that you drive for a company using your personal car like uber, lyft orAmazon Flex, your insurer may deny your claims and cancel your policy
Flex is not just deliveries. Flex is just a type of employee. You could do deliveries or work any position in a fulfillment warehouse ect ect . Flex requires you to work at least 4 hours a week from my experience working for Amazon in a fulfillment center for over a year. I'm currently Reduced time employee I work 3 12 hour shifts back to back over night and have 4 days off per week and love it.
Oh it’s not? All the blocks I’ve accepted has been all deliveries. Delivering packages, food, things from GNC. I’m currently still active with Amazon Flex and I haven’t worked at all for weeks. But if your saying their is a way for Amazon Flex drivers to be able to work in the warehouse please explain how. Also thank you for watching!
@@IamDesireeSimone you can be hired for different warehouses . Amazon has several different kinds . Fulfilment , Distribution , Ect . If I'm correct you were hired for Distribution
The restrictions may be different for each type of building you work for . I know if u work in fulfillment u have to work at least 4 hours per week. Also if you're hired to deliver then you will only be able to pick up shifts you were train for . In the fulfillment centers I can see all the shifts available but can only pick up the ones I've been train for. The A to Z app for employee's Is probably the greatest thing about working for Amazon.
A fuel efficient vehicle will help you generate the most profit even with wear and tear, it's all up to you, best vehicles I've had for deliveries are scion xbs and Nissan cubes the space helps with all the packages and the cost of maintenance is pretty low, especially with the xbs
Problem I have with Sub-Same Day Delivery is when I have to deliver to a hotel or somewhere downtown. It's a pain in the a**, and there's almost never any parking.
It's not a great job. I wasted 7 and a half hours on a 4.5-hour block today. On top of that, I paid for gas and insurance and added a lot of mileage to my car.
you’re supposed to return the packages to the warehouse. my first day i went an hour over. veteran drivers say to start heading back to the warehouse 30 minutes before the blocks ends and return the rest to them. i did it today. call support first and then return the packages to the warehouse. many people do this! others slaves themselves and volunteer for amazon.
I just want to say how sweet and polite you are in the comments to all the negative people! I worked for amazon as a regular driver but I'm interested in starting back as a flex driver so I'm doing some research. Your video was super informative and helpful in general, not just for flex. Regular drivers also use the flex app so the process is very similar, you just use your own car with flex and you get to pick your own shifts. Great video and positive vibes! ❤
Aww thank you and I try my very best! You should definitely try it out since you are already familiar how Amazon works. Thats actually ready good to hear that regular Amazon drivers can learn from my video too! Thank you so much! I hope you enjoy Flex!
I did my first block today and I ended up in Baltimore City with 40 packages. Everything was close but all apartment buildings so I would have to deliver 13 packages in one building. I had to make a few trips so another tip is bring a large carrying bag or hand cart. It was a 3.5 hour block and somehow I got done just in time 😂. Was not expecting all that on my first day.
Sometimes I get up to 45 packages. The big issue is the length of the routes, sometime it takes 45-50 mins to get to the delivery area. The early morning (3:00-4:00 am) routes are great. But with those you are delivering in the dark.
Exactly, that’s what I don’t like about not knowing your route. Oh I didn’t know that, thank you for sharing! I personally don’t feel comfortable being out there so early in the dark and not knowing where I’m going until I’m there checked in.
A tip for everyone that does any type of personal delivery jobs. Make sure your vehicle is gas efficient. If you drive a car that called for premium gas and take it and do amazon flex that's just stupid and you wasting your time and money. You would be paying more in gas than getting money. I would recommend any type of hybrids, Hondas, or Toyotas best choices because you will be saving a much as possible. Oh and don't forget to calculate this into your budget. Gas, vehicle maintenance , and wear and tears. I seen a lot of new people going in and doing this and not noticing any of these factors. Then they wander why they don't make money.
I tried Amazon Flex for a little while and the 2 problems I had with it was not knowing the distance from the warehouse to the designated route. Which isn’t always too bad but can still be inconvenient for the pay. The other reason why I stopped was because I was doing deliveries with an average size sedan but each shift a few of my packages were larger boxes (car seats, dressers, etc) which made fitting the packages into my car quite the task.
Definitely inconvenient for the pay if the route is bad. Oh wow you were getting those type of large boxes, I never had that happen. I have a Chevy Cruze so pretty similar size but yours a bit larger. But yea these reasons would definitely make you stop doing Amazon Flex. Thank you for watching!
Short answer: No it’s not. Not after you spend money traveling to the pickup. Traveling to the destination to drop off which could be 40-50 miles out to then get started delivering for 4 1/2 hours at most usually. If you can snag the good contracts for 140 -200 you would be doing great. But that’s really rare now days with people using Amazon Bots to pick those up before any human possibly can.
I do hate not knowing the route before accepting. My first route was Carmel which i didnt care for because of the congestion of traffic and very busy area. I did have a 4 hour with 40 pkgs. I just completed a Fishers run it was only 12 stops in 5 hours so i was actually done and home 2 hours early. I also have a chevy cruze and am a little wary of long routes do to the amount of pkgs.
Right, not knowing is so annoying. Oh hey! That was a lucky route for Fishers. Congrats and I hope when I do it again I get a route like that. Chevy Cruze twins lol. Yea those long routes are not fun. Thanks for watching!
10:45 STG look at 2:59 You can definitely tell where you're going. Read the label. At that point, if the distance isn't worth it, notify an associate and forfeit the block. 20min. loading packages in car, and 40 min drive back? Pass. Amazon Flex is maybe worth it to drivers is near the station. For example; I live 5 mins away. Few stations are in smaller cities. Otherwise, the mileage and usage isn't worth it if you only have 1 Uber/nicer vehicle.
So does the STG (Staging area) signify anything else besides where to locate your cart of packages? Also when I forfeit a block that affects my rating correct? Thanks for watching!
It's not worth it. My first trip was an hour from the warehouse and it took me longer to get home. I was in the country and the gps was all messed up because of the turn here on a private road with no name. I was on so many dirt roads and kept wondering is this safe? Not worth it.
Thank you for such an outstanding video. I just got approved for Flex. I plan on doing my first run this weekend. I am also in Indy area. Thank you!!!!
@@cowsgohuh7328 I'm not sure what you mean. A cargo van literally enables you to do jobs like Flex effortlessly because of the open space inside of them. If you're good enough, then it stops being a side hustle and produces a full time income.
I think to start off with, it's ok to use your car if it has good miles. Now if you want to make Amazon Flex full time then yea get a Cargo van if you want.
@@IamDesireeSimone The lack of cargo space gets in the way with a passenger vehicle. There's other jobs besides flex that also make better money, but you need a cargo van in order to do them. I have made 300 dollars in a day doing flex.
If you don’t know what it is because the idiots at the warehouse block the barcode you can just look at your list and try to find the package by address which will also tell you which stop the package is just so you know 🤙🏽
I work remote on my day job been IT 7 yeara, i do shipt make less and still love it. Waiting for background process for flex. As a second job im hapoy making even 50 extra day.
I done my first delivery today for amazon flex. Actually was at the greenwood location. 😂 Thanks for your video im going to use your numbering the packages idea because i was so lost today lol
Advanced Auto also has perk rewards that you can use at Shell Stations. I buy car parts, oil filters, and oil there every few weeks. The points will add up quickly throughout the year, and you can get anywhere up to $2-3 dollars off fillups. Buying your own oil will save you a ton, especially if u take it to Jiffy Lube/Pep Boys, etc. I usually pay $30 for an oil change here in NC. That's because i have my own oil.
Im at 6:39 .. girl, you do Amazon Flex almost exactly how I do Walmart Spark when they give me "larger" orders like 15-25ish packages! My backseat and trunk look almost identical to yours, and when I realize that I only have like 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 left.. they ALL get moved up to my front seat (size permitting) so I can keep it moving and on to the next!! Sometimes long miles and times can run long but. They paid me $60 for i think 15 stops last night.. still ended up taking ~2 hours somehow but. With gas about $3.10 a gallon here.. I'm really digging this video! Im in NJ. Lived in SW Indianapolis about.. 13 yeara ago! Went to IndyArms in May 😊
lol, That's why I do it like that since I use to do Walmart Spark. Wow, you got lucky for the $60 route with only 15 stops, congrats! Aww, thank you so much and aye that's so cool you live in NJ! You definitely know Indy then lol. Thanks for watching!
Put stops 2-10 in the front seat, 12-19 on the back left seat, 20-29 on the back right seat. then put the rest in the trunk. Sometimes you might have to put some boxes in the trunk or in the back on the floor due to size.
So when you check your app in the morning and wanna work day and night do you choose then or can you have the option to check late in the afternoon to decide if you want an evening block?
My warehouse has the stop number on the yellow stickers so no need to mark the packages myself. We also don't have the self serve kiosks. The Amazon employees bring us carts. It's very much like a military operation with how organized it is.
Warehouse DKY4 is like that but not all of them. Some wareouses you have to walk in and scan your license then wait for the route to populate and get your own cart!🤣
if they payed for Mileage i'd do this any day of the week but with gas prices hiking up to almost $4 a gallon again and my nearest facility being 45 minutes away it simply wouldn't be worth it for me.
Yea that would be nice but again your an independent contractor with Amazon, so you're not working directly for them. But I completely understand with how far your nearest facility is and yes gas prices are going back up again. Thank you for watching!
bezos prices it so that youre juuuust making enough to hang on and after all the bs you make $15 an hour. youre supposed to do these jobs so that you will learn your worth no matter what and realize that for the small hassle it takes to do your own marketing and research you can make three times as much running your own business, but you'll have to believe in yourself and actually do the hard part. which amazon does for you but then takes 2/3rds of the money. so just accept that not everything in life is easy but if you can get over yourself and believe you are just as good as anybody else, you can just start your own business and make more money.
Wait so you have to go inside to verify your drivers license. I have social anxiety so I waited until someone came up to me but no one ever diid so I just left 😅
Sometimes I can see how many stops my Amazon package is from the Amazon app but that’s not for every time, so I’m assuming they can since we have to have our Bluetooth and location on for the Amazon Flex app.
From my brief experience the 3 hr blocks seem to be the sweet spot IF the route is setup right. The unpredictability is what makes it bad AND apartments. I have done two 3.5 hour blocks and those have been a nightmare. I will not pick those anymore and only stick with retail.
That's crazy. I do seasonal driving for UPS and the route is sooooo much better. Drive my car and usually do about 80-120 stops on avg, but in so much less time. Furthest I get from pickup is maybe 20 minutes. I do like how you're paid for your route, instead of hourly tho. 25 packages on my route and I'd make $75 in 30-40 minutes lol.
I didn't know you can be an independent contractor with UPS and use your own car. Wow the furthest is only 20 minutes is not bad. Making $75 in 30-40 minutes sounds so much better though. Thank you for sharing!
My only complaint with flex is having to call customers to drop off and gave it up as I was wasting alot time and taking packages back to the pickup location and waitingfor customerwho never answer.
Thinking about doing this as a second job. I work for the government as an IT Specialist. I only take home 60k and I want to buy my own house. Rent and car payment alone eat up most of my income.
The pay is not consistent, there could be a waiting list to sign up (depending on your area) the blocks are first come, first served and you are not guaranteed to get the higher paying blocks it works best as additional income.
One of the biggest downfalls are you don’t know where or how far your going until once you start scanning you have a 3.5 hr shift but the first stop might be a hour away Amazon is smart by not telling you up front because they know a lot of these blocks wouldn’t be picked for the money there paying

You can type in the last name or first name in the barcode. It’ll show you stop # as well.
Oh thank you, now I know! Thank you for watching!
For that package that had the yellow sticker over the barcode at 4:00, you can actually either type in the address, name or TBA number in the same search bar to find the stop number OR it’s actually easier if you scan that single QR code above where it says “cycle 1” that’s actually the one I use.
Oh wow thank you so much! I will try that next time! Also thank you for watching!
Hey good video! I also work Amazon Flex and I have a tip for you. The package that had the yellow sticker covering the barcode, you could also scan the QR code or if neither of those scan you can manually type in the TBA number on the yellow sticker and the package order will come up that way too. Have a good day 😊
Or just pull off the yellow sticker. Just peel it off.
Thank you and this helped me so much yesterday on my block! I appreciate you! You have a great day too!
You can do that but you might need the TBA number for customer support for any reason, which I ran into a problem yesterday. Thank you for watching!
I'm in the Bay Area, the hub is American Canyon, I don't book unless it's $120 and up (3hrs) refresh and wait for surge pay, it’ll come
That's smart, unfortunately we don't see those too much nor have I been able to snag one that isn't for 3:30am in the morning lol. But hopefully I can grab a high paying one in the near future. Thank you for watching!
Helpful tip: if the barcode is covered with a label, you can also scan that QR code to the right of the barcode as well.
Thank you so much for the tip! Also thank you for watching!!
@@IamDesireeSimone The QR codes are a TON easier to scan too - the barcodes are usually more faded and harder / slower to read.
Good attitude and personality. Communities need more like you
Aww thank you so much! Thank you for watching!
Next time I will try that! Thank you so much! Thanks for watching!
@@IamDesireeSimone your welcome
Ayee nice!! Right so easy! Exactly literally the worst thing about it. Thank you for watching!!
I advise you to deliver all pkgs even if you go over. They wil ding your acct for every pkg returned and lower your standing. If you go over you can call cust svc and you may get OT pay.
I will try that. So far I haven’t ran into the issue. Thank you for sharing! Also thank you for watching!
Excellent video. No nonsense fillers, just straight on good info delivered clearly and quickly.
Thank you so much! I truly appreciate the feedback!!
For those who dont no you can start your block 15 minutes early. Amazon is pretty on point with making sure that you will be done with your last stop 30-45 minutes before your actual block ends. That 30-45 minutes is usually 90% of the time enough time for you to make it home within your block time.
Thank you for your tips! Also thank you for watching!
Just to clarify about tax deduction, you can only use mileage or costs. You cannot do both. If you choose mileage, you cannot deduct gas, car insurance...etc.
I was a courier for many years and my mileage *_always_* added up to be more of a deduction than expenses.
Great video! Reacting to this now!
I had 191 stop i start at 12 I finish at 9 pm it’s to much you don’t get credit for working hard they always pick the one that not doing the job
I am lucky. My Amazon station is 10 miles away and deliveries are way close. Deliveries take me 1 hour and 15 minutes
It seems so easy to deliver wherever you are located! Los Angeles SUCKS and it is so dangerous out here!
Not that easy. Downtown areas sucks and the country sucks. Those two are the worst. Oh my gosh didn't know LA would be that bad for drivers.
Exactly, I love the examples! Thank you for sharing and watching!
Has it been worth it for you with an SUV? Do you get more options or packages? Like bigger packages or just more?
when you calculating price per mile keep in mind truck drivers in company trucks get less than .50cpm so as a owner operator or contractor in a personal car i think anything over .50cmp is a win since gas is cheaper than diesel. Downside of things after expenses you really not making that much. In my area LR. AR all there is over nights at 70 dollars for 3.5 hrs so no over nights for me.
Thank you for making the video. This is useful information without adding too much filler but still being easy to listen to.
Aww thank you so much! Thank you for watching!
This video help me a lot today is my first day , I followed the instructions and everything worked fine, thank you
Aww I'm so glad! You are so welcome! Thank you for watching!
Flex is only good if you live close to the warehouse and have a truck or SUV. If you drive a car, the amount of off roading they expect you to do will tear it up underneath. I was in shock at some of the addresses they expected me to drop packages off at. lol Just put too many miles for too little money for my taste.
You are right about Flex is only good if you live close to a warehouse. Lol Flex is really ridiculous at times Lol. Thank you for watching!
Aww thank you so much! Oh great! Oh noted! Thanking for letting me know! Also thank you for watching!
IIRC someone in comments said they write on their package labels and no one has ever mentioned anything about it.
oh wow I never knew that. I hope that never happens to me because writing the stop numbers has really helped. Thank you for sharing and watching!
Its worth it if you know how to run a route efficiently! There are times where the app will not show you the most effective sequence. You have to use your brain and run thr route the right way.. finish fast and it is worth it. Use up the entire projected time.. and then ita not worth it
Exactly, thank you for that!
facts, I finish 5hr blocks in like 3 and some change
You can either scan the regular bar code or the QR code, either one should scan.
Thank you for letting me know!! Also thank you for watching!
I did my first block today - 46 packages 😢 but I made it!! 🎉
I've been doing Uber deliveries (food) but this seems much more streamlined (pick up at warehouse and just go drop off). I like that a lot better than having to wait for food to be finished at restaurants.
Yea their are definitely pros and cons for both. I say try it and see what you like. Thanks for watching!
4:01 Both barcode and QR code will give you the stop or you can type the address and it’ll tell you what stop it is
Thank you so much!
Red neck areas where the house are deep in the woods with dirt roads are so scary esp early mornings/at night
I agree 100%
@@mrrungood I don’t live no where near those areas
the catch with this is most people drive with the same insurance they got when they bought their car, which you arent supposed to do. Most personal car insurance companies require you to purchase a commercial policy if you drive for a delivery company, and if you don't disclose that you drive for a company using your personal car like uber, lyft orAmazon Flex, your insurer may deny your claims and cancel your policy
I did not know this, thank you for informing me. Also thank you for watching!
better not have any claims then :)

@@IamDesireeSimone I was referring to NoCapJayy's comment 😊
That is incorrect. What you are speaking of is an Amazon employee. Flex is independent contractors.
A fuel efficient vehicle will help you generate the most profit even with wear and tear, it's all up to you, best vehicles I've had for deliveries are scion xbs and Nissan cubes the space helps with all the packages and the cost of maintenance is pretty low, especially with the xbs
Oh great, thank you for the preferences! I never knew that. Thank you for watching!
Problem I have with Sub-Same Day Delivery is when I have to deliver to a hotel or somewhere downtown. It's a pain in the a**, and there's almost never any parking.
To a hotel? Didn’t even think about that. That sucks and yea downtown I heard sucks. Thank you for watching!
Yes girl, hotels, doctors office, government buildings (they will frisk you down like the airports), casinos... the list goes on.
@crystalk17co omg lol that’s crazy, thank you letting me know!
Never get 3 hr blocks always 5hr usually 5 hr takes 3 hrs to do and higher pay
Maybe the best Flex tutorial video I've seen. Great info, and very pleasantly presented. That customer was absolutely right. Bravo!
Aww thank you so much!! You keep up the good work too!!
Thank you for sharing!
This was a very informative and ride along video. Hopefully, some who stumble onto your video can appreciate this and take notes.
Aww thank you so much! 💕 I hope they did too!
Not every route is worth it. Thanks for watching!
10:45 STG look at 2:59
You can definitely tell where you're going.
At 4min, u can also scan the QR code right next to that barcode as well, great video 💯
Are you talking about when you get your cart with the packages? And thank you so much!!💕
@DesireeSimone yea, wen u scan to find what package go in what order you can use the QR and barcode
Oh ok I see what you are saying. Thank you I will try that next time!

Thank you for such an outstanding video. I just got approved for Flex. I plan on doing my first run this weekend. I am also in Indy area. Thank you!!!!
Once you choose your block, are all the packages in the same area/or near or should I ask what’s the average distance between the deliveries?
They are. Each block is different some blocks pay higher some pay lower,
Picking up your packages is at the same location. Distance between each delivery defers. I hope this makes sense. Thank you for watching!
Amazon flex is not a regular passenger vehicle job. Get a cargo van and you will be amazed at how much of a breeze it becomes.
Yea. But a vehicle for a side hustle. Makes sense.

Oh Good! Yes try using numbering the packages and thank you for watching!

@@IamDesireeSimone that sounds like a lot of stops for just $60

Put stops 2-10 in the front seat, 12-19 on the back left seat, 20-29 on the back right seat. then put the rest in the trunk. Sometimes you might have to put some boxes in the trunk or in the back on the floor due to size.

My warehouse has the stop number on the yellow stickers so no need to mark the packages myself. We also don't have the self serve kiosks. The Amazon employees bring us carts. It's very much like a military operation with how organized it is.
Warehouse DKY4 is like that but not all of them. Some wareouses you have to walk in and scan your license then wait for the route to populate and get your own cart!🤣
if they payed for Mileage i'd do this any day of the week but with gas prices hiking up to almost $4 a gallon again and my nearest facility being 45 minutes away it simply wouldn't be worth it for me.

bezos prices it so that youre juuuust making enough to hang on and after all the bs you make $15 an hour. youre supposed to do these jobs so that you will learn your worth no matter what and realize that for the small hassle it takes to do your own marketing and research you can make three times as much running your own business, but you'll have to believe in yourself and actually do the hard part. which amazon does for you but then takes 2/3rds of the money. so just accept that not everything in life is easy but if you can get over yourself and believe you are just as good as anybody else, you can just start your own business and make more money.
Thank you the right person so this message now its crunch time
Thanks for your great video! Very helpful!!
Aww, you're welcome! Thank you for watching!
Wait so you have to go inside to verify your drivers license. I have social anxiety so I waited until someone came up to me but no one ever diid so I just left 😅
If you still doing it, may you be blessed. I've also signed up but no luck yet. Still on waiting list almost 6 months.
I'm currently not at the moment but thank you so much! I do hope you get off the list soon! Thank you for watching!
Where can i download the amazon flex app?!??
You are quick. Can the customer track their delivery?
Yea that would be annoying if that’s happening often. Thanks for watching!
Thinking about doing this as a second job. I work for the government as an IT Specialist. I only take home 60k and I want to buy my own house. Rent and car payment alone eat up most of my income.
U complaining about 90k a year and people only making like 30k greed at its best
@@sheraemoore1315greed? It's called bills to pay..do u think they are taking jobs away from someone..smh
The pay is not consistent, there could be a waiting list to sign up (depending on your area) the blocks are first come, first served and you are not guaranteed to get the higher paying blocks it works best as additional income.
Great video. Thanks for sharing. I’ll be applying for runs in the Atlanta area. Hopefully the waitlist isn’t too long.
Hey man, are you already approved by now? Just wandering cause i'm on the list for over a month already.
