I do full time amazon in the prime vans, the routing in the app is terrible i suggest to not follow it as you will waste your time. Look on the map and choose which deliveries to do yourself that makes sense instead of driving up and down for no reason
I'm looking to get into Amazon flex so this is handy to know. Can you move your drops on the apps or are they fixed. I deliver with evri and can pre plan my route and edit after parcel scan.
@@klashnacovak47 you just look on the map, see which is closer to u, for example the app is telling u go to 25 but you see 37 is closer, u tap on the list and tap on 37, now ur delivering 37, after completion tap on 25 again to continue what the app suggested
From what I’ve gathered, they try and keep the drops on the same side of the road that your driving on, I always look 10ish stops ahead which helps save time
Hi mate this is the most random question you've probably been asked!😅, but what satnav is it you use it seems so much clearer and easier to follow than mine?
To change things up a bit take a trip to another city, town next door or even further away and treat it like a day out. If far away away you could stay at a motorway hotel when its a cheaper rate and make a day of it delivering and taking in the site :)
Just signed up today to Amazon flex today as i only work Weds to Friday in my full time job so may as well top my money up abit instead of just sitting on my arse 4 days a week! Hopefully they'll get back to me soon 👍
Reason why the early afternoon routes are numbered like that is because theyre like the excess of the main Amazon drivers, bit of advice for packing them, they have a code on that yellow sticker like A2.3 etc, if theyre 2 different codes split them from eachother, makes it alot easier 🙌🏻
You mention about the same day deliveries being numbered 1,2,3,4,5 etc but from doing amazon for a few years now they tend to be much further distances. Whereas the afternoon blocks that are not numbered 1,2,3,4 but say for example 210,211,213 are more localised and grouped deliveries. I prefer those ones. Im not complaining with the routes but I can smash those out in about an hour plus driving time. The 4 hour ones are all spread out and they take time to do.
Yes i agree for delivery is rubbish at the moment that's just no money to be made. Is this a self employed job you do? I think amazon and uber should team up and give ebike food couriers (like me ) parcels to deliver, there'd be so much work in that.
Enjoy the content mate. Do you get paid petrol to get down to Amazon or is that included in the base fee? It’s quite a journey from Taunton to Exeter without being paid.
Poly bags in passenger footwell , envelopes and book folder passenger seats . Parcels stacked biggest to smallest on the rear seats . Helps me out doing this
The Sat Nav is a nightmare, its about 10 years out of date, will just send you round in circles and lose you at least 30mins on a route. Really annoying! Amazon need to update it to an AI version i recon asap. Also re your vehicle you will need it capable of soaking up Country lanes, Potholes, Gravel and farmland! Ideally a 4/4 , People carrier, Van , Range Rover or Tractor would be ideal! An ordinary car will need new suspension system within 6 months!
Saw the delivery where they said out behind the bin I had just remembered I had asked them to put it behind my bin as I was at work and they put it on top the the car 😂
Hi pal, I love the videos. I've just got into the gig business myself. Any advise on how to claim for mileage ect? I've noticed you take it off, then show your profit. I've seen conflicted ideas on how this works. Some claim you are taxed on everything and then claim back 40p per mile for 10k, then 25p for the rest. I've also just learnt that you need to prove your mileage. As you can probably imagine my head is spinning at this lol. Thanks pal.
Cheers mate. So my calculations at the end are purely to show my profit after expenses for the shift. They aren’t the numbers used for tax returns. Like you said, we get 45p per mile deducted off our taxable income. But in reality, I don’t spend 45p per mile on expenses. When it comes to tax returns, my income is the pre-expenses amount of income I’ve taken through the apps. Expenses are miles x 45p (then 20p after 10k miles). That produces your taxable profit, which is often less than the profit you’ve actually made which is good for us. Hope that helps!
Tge 45p per mile factors in petrol, wear and tare, servicing and repairs etc which makes things easier. You can also do it by claiming all the repairs, servicing etc and dividing it into private and business mileage and then claim tge percentage off the bills.
When did you record this... Food delivery has been awful in Exeter too lately but the last two weeks have picked up a bit... Why dont you give Exeter a go... Maybe do a video for freshers week?
Annoyingly I signed up to, and was accepted quickly by Flex, last year but didn't get my insurance sorted until this month and going back to Flex I'm apparently no longer able to claim blocks. It let me apply for SW England though so clearly they need more people down there.
Been doing Flex for the last 3 weeks ontop of my full time work. Absolutely easy money. Routes are easy and i usually finish minimum 30 mins before im due to. Even got given a bag of popcorn and flavoured water today on my block
I was thinking of doing some myself but I also work full time and I’m not quite sure how it works with tax. Do you have to pay 20% of what you earn every time?
@@kylescott3420 You dont have to pay tax on the first 1,000 quid you earn. Its called the traders allowance i believe. Then after that i believe its 20%
I've had plenty more good days than bad! 120 mile round trip was my worse one. Paying £86 so was not too bad. Had £56 3.5 hour blocks and finished many in 90 mins. It is easy money and I do enjoy it. Tops up my normal job money.
Yup 😂😂 I’ve also posted several things without realising I’ve not scanned it yet, and have to knock and hope they’re in to let me scan what I’ve just posted 🤦♂️ if they’re not in gotta phone support 😂
Thinking of doing Amazon flex and want to know if it is possible to do like a “full” day of it? Would it be one massive block or could you go back to depot to get another block or is that not a thing?
Did you sinmgn up to the InSur suggested by amazon or just driving with your normal car insurance? Iam planning to start delivering with just my normal comp insurance. I know it doesn't cover you when delivery. Just checking if anyone else does that
Most gig work apps point you towards insurance providers you can use, most recommend Zego or Inshur, but some of the normal well-known car insurance companies allow you to add on H&R insurance too - most important thing is you get insurance that covers the type of deliveries you're making. And no, that sticker is just my parking permit for where I live!
I’m with Zego on their pay monthly plan, prices been going up a bit recently but suddenly dropped again, about £170 a month at the mo for unlimited delivery work + social use.

Hi glad to see you doing more Amazon block 😀 great vlog and tips 👍

Brilliant video as always; I’m considering joining amazon flex, recently moved to Cornwall, which company do you use for your insurance?

Devon and Cornwall is a nice place. Keep up the great work

I used to work in the warehouses, the bags were a seprerate line but if it was a solid box I’m sure you can just put the adress straight on

I remember when I had a skip of a car too 😂
i'm liking my flex work at the moment. don't think i could do it full time driving the amazon vans all day though. 100+ drops per day D:
Hi mate , could you do a video on how to sign up for flex & fresh & also all the food apps please mate ?
They should open this up to bikers with maybe shorter routes/smaller packsgaes
You need to get some Amazon bags for when you leave your packages in the rain.

@autohustles That helps massively, thank you. Do you need to prove your mileage to HMRC? Sorry for the follow up question!

Have you seen the insta 360 Go 3s? Shoots in 4k and it’s tiny, perfect for your baseball cap and weighs 39 grams… perfect 4 yr channel 👍🏼
Cullompton is a good one for you and not a lot of traffic except that main road.
In the south east of you not constantly clicking your not getting a shift
same up north
Brother with insurance you use to cover uber delivroo just eat and Amazon flex ? Because Amazon stop working with Zego..
Have you ever nearly posted your mobile phone through the letter box? It could easily be done haha
Yup 😂😂 I’ve also posted several things without realising I’ve not scanned it yet, and have to knock and hope they’re in to let me scan what I’ve just posted 🤦♂️ if they’re not in gotta phone support 😂

You can do 24 hours per week only
I've just done my first 2 days. I had to go back to the depot for 2nd block both times. The longest blocks are 4 hours.

How to get insurance and is that green sticker on windscreen proof of it?

What insurance do you use? I have signed up to flex. But I can’t get insurance through partners they use. Any suggestions? Love the videos
Get it thru your current provider. Just update it and see what the quote is and if its reasonable.
Carriage of goods for hire and reward is what you need on the policy.
I’m with Zego on their pay monthly plan, prices been going up a bit recently but suddenly dropped again, about £170 a month at the mo for unlimited delivery work + social use.
Hi, Which car do you use for flex?
What insurance do you use?
Think it would be quite good if you done a vid over a full week and see a breakdown at the end
Agreed, it’s in progress 🙌🏻
What's sort of insurance do you need
What sort of car do you drive, looks like a Micra?
Bang on, perfect car for the job, looks like shit but can park in tiny spaces in town centre and gets decent MPG
Not when they offer less then 15US an.hour
I tried to get h&r insurance but they’re charging me £2.50 an hour for it because I’m young… is that worth it??
That’s rough man, but if it’s just hourly there’s no commitment so you can try it for a bit and see if you think it’s worth it!
I like to have some faith in humanity and just leave parcels on doorstep 😅 it saves me time and in the epast two years haven't had a problem yet😂
