Hey! I just came across your video. This video was very helpful. Am looking to start doing this as a side hustle soon. How many times do you scan these packages? Thank you!
Hi! So, I’m not sure if I understand your question. Technically you only have to scan them once when you get ready to drop them off. However, at the beginning of the video I scanned them because I like to number my packages. So, twice if you count that.
@@Pepecoin123 nah I don’t return at all 😂 that shit is going to the lobby or wherever tf I want it to go. Oh well. I’ll be kind enough to text the customer too. Still have a phenomenal status.
I just did Amazon Flex for the first time today. I lost money by the time it was said and done! Used a half a tank of gas and they look me 1 1/2 hours out my way to deliver these packages. Dallas area here also
As a courtesy to your customers...you should at least ring the bell and/or knock so the person can know that they have received the pkg... it's nothing like expecting a package and you're home and the person didn't even try to ring the bell and someone steals your package 📦
So typically, customers will put in the notes on the app if they want you to ring their doorbell/knock. A lot of them do not prefer it though. Quite often there are signs outside their doors that say, “DO NOT RING DOORBELL.” But I always try to hide the packages in a safe place if I can, i.e. behind bushes, plants, or something like that. In apartments, that kind of hard though.
@@thelifeoftee That's what I tell people all the time! If you want us to ring the doorbell let us know in the notes. Some people are trying to sleep on a night schedule and they don't appreciate that. You never know.
@@thelifeoftee Yeah i usually tell people DO NOT RING BELL because it sets off my dog and i cannot quiet him down. ALSO sometimes the buzzer is so loud it frightens the bejezas out of me. I will check my email or text for delivery notifications. Ringing the bell is not necessary when u can track packages.
@@thelifeoftee I am also glad u look at the notes as it pisses me off when delivery drivers do not read the notes. And i will call them out on it as there is a reason we put notes NOT to ring the bell.
@@PetaSherman Yes, I always try to do my part and look at the notes. I know as a customer how frustrating it can be if someone doesn’t follow the directions.
So glad you mentioned people should bring their own snacks for their route to save money. I see UA-camrs talking about how they need to make this money and then they pull into Starbucks and buy an $8.99 coffee.
I would say the heaviest is about 30-40 pounds, and those end up being the ones I have to walk far with it seems like lol so it’s really good to invest in a wagon if you can. As far as the map, it’s steadily improving but sometimes it does not work in bad areas. For example, I’ll deliver a package and when I tap “start travel” for the next, it’ll give an error message about the connection. That can be super frustrating! I kinda just have to leave out of the area until I get a better connection.
I have a few questions, hopefully you're able to answer them because I'm planning on applying as a 2nd job. 1. Though you have finished your route early, is it possible to get another route before your shift ends? Or you only get 1 route per day? 2. Do they cover for gas? It seems like it doesn't but I wanted to ask anyways. 3. I know in the beginning you had said something about having another person work with you, do you notify Amazon about it or it doesn't matter?
Hey! 1. Yes, you can work more than one shift in a day. But even if you finish the first shift early, the shift time has to end before you can have another shift. I’ve done two in a day before, one in the morning and one in the evening. 2. No, unfortunately they do not. That’s why it’s important to have a shift that pays well. 3. So, technically you don’t have to tell Amazon that someone else is working under your account. However, you would want to make sure it’s someone you can trust to work under your account because whatever they do during deliveries affects your account standing. But if you have someone in the car with you, it’s no problem. Several couples do it together or friends. But you have to be the one to actually put the package on the customer’s door.
@@thelifeoftee thank you so much for answering my questions. I hope everything goes well in life for you, times are hard put we all go to do what we need to do to get through it.
How flexible is this Amazon flex? Do you have to stick with one hub or can you work for any hub throughout the state like if you travel and wanna make some cash?
@@galkkeiber8701 Yes, it’s flexible. You can go to any of the hubs in your local area. I have about 10 that I can go to. As far as taking off. This is a contract job, when you decide to work is up to you. You pick up shifts whenever you want.

Do you still get unemployment even tho your working with Amazon flex because I’m unemployed got laid off and going to work for Amazon flex. And I’m getting unemployment
Get laid off sucks. My job fired me for not fault of my own and 2 others at my job as well. The company recently filed bankruptcy so I knew they were looking for anything to find to get rid of us. Thankfully I was able to get unemployment and it’s weekly so it helps a lot until I find another job. See if you can apply for unemployment if you were laid off you definitely qualify. They also offer other services to help you find work.
That does suck that you were laid off. And I have been able to get unemployed but the cost of living in TX is expensive, so it hasn’t been enough. I try to work a few days of Amazon a week but not too much where it would affect payments from them.

Honestly, I don’t think so here in Texas. In my opinion, we do way too much driving here and the money really isn’t enough. For example, 3 and a 1/2 hrs, you can make $63 but my best friend who does it in Arkansas will have the same amount of hrs and make $90-$100. When you factor in having to pay for gas, wear & tear on your car, and having 35-40+ packages to deliver, you WANT to be paid well lol.
