    Also some tips that I myself have that I haven't seen you cover in this video (More for viewers, I know you already know most of these)
    -- Housing close to industry speeds up production MASSIVELY. Same with having houses near your teamsters (I find teamsters near housing is more important than teamsters near industry, but ideally you have all of them as close as possible keeping pollution into account.
    -The registan of samarkhad (I definitely butchered the spelling) should be RUSHED in a sandbox game. The first building I build before all else in a sandbox is the pirate cove, and I immediately start the raid for this wonder. Having most of your citizens high school educated will save you a ton of upkeep on high schools, and ensure you always have workers for industry. You'll still need at least one high school, but this makes life so much easier.
    -When entering a new era, I always build the raid building first. Wonders are simply that useful, and raids offer that much money as you said in your video.
    -If you have all needs supported and no happiness, it means the Caribbean happiness is better than your overall happiness. It being even 1 above your happiness can take you from 99 happiness to 30 in my experience, causing you to lose the elections. Once I have the wonder from the commando garrisson I make it do nothing but the intimidate neighbours raids, and I never have any issues with happiness. It's so powerful that I'd argue the commando garrison is the single most important building in the game.
    -Teamsters, especially in the colonial era. In the colonial era I try to have one teamsters per 2/3 production building. This is slightly overkill, but ensures your profits stay in your bank account rather than the docks. After the colonial era they all get cars so it isn't quite so important, but I aim for 1 teamster (with the upgrade) for every 10 or so production buildings. You may need more if you have distant buildings (the mission with the oil rigs and tourism I found I needed like 15 teamsters to have any consistency to earnings, even though I didn't have a lot of overall production.
    -In the colonial era, build stuff as close to the docks as possible, and as close to each other. You can always move it, but without cars it takes forever for workers to get to production buildings (Even with houses close-by,) and for teamsters to deliver goods.

      A really important one I forgot that messed me up really bad when the game first launched-- Before leaving the colonial era, make sure you have 100-200k in the bank and are making a good profit each ship. Once you leave colonial, your tropicans suddenly care about things such as rights and needs. You'll need to build clinics, chapels, grocerys, etc to stop them from voting you out or rebelling, and this era change is very expensive. I try to have 200k as that's enough to start shipbuilding and cover everybodys needs for the most part. More is better (400k and you're definitely set with leftovers,) but I find the colonial era boring so don't like staying in it too long. It's also worth leaving the colonial era with a ton of unemployed workers since you'll need to staff these buildings with the needs.

      Collecting hundreds of thousands seem a bit much and long preparations - but I'm guilty for doing the same! :D

After more than 20 different channels on this game, your the only one that not only explained everything, but also included so many methods that noone else mentioned.     Now that you've completed all the missions and done this video, are we still gonna be getting Tropico content from you? I've been loving watching you play. I really would like to see you try some sandbox challenges, such as a militarist playthrough where you never hold an election, or one where you do a religious theocracy, or a communist utopia. Either way I look forward to seeing what comes next!

    At first I winced when I saw the length of this video, but after watching it all, I am grateful I did! Tropico did not do a very good job on teaching the details of the game during their quick tutorials, and I always found myself running into massive debt. Hopefully that will all change now!! Thanks for this great content!!

      But I can give you a tip for that too - as English is not my native language, I speak pretty slowly, so tuning up my video speeds 1.25 or even 1.5 times in many cases shorten the time spent but you still can easily get everything I say :D

      Don't do it! :D heh, I had my doubts, that's why I'm testing anything I step upon! So you don't have to make those terrible mistakes with upgrades.. :)

      @@MLMariss The cigar upgrade (40:41) gives you more per worker and less per factory. I dont think that you lacked space for more factories. When i took data from this video on average you make about 31% more per factory but 21,5% less per worker. Lets assume you have 4 factories without this upgrade so you make about 1,4 mil profit with 20 workers. If you have 6,66 factories with upgrade (6,66 so it will count all 20 workers) you will make about 1,8 mil. So it is upgrade just take a little more space.

      So 2 situations here then I would like to say : 1) for mid to end game it would be good to push efficiency, thus upgrading thus making more factories to get the same number of people working at the end..with increased efficiency! Because that is there - as upgrade states ;)
      2) at the start when money is tight and every single new factory takes time to save up money and place - there still this 'don't just upgrade everything' will kick in! As you explained - building more factories are required to get the benefit, otherwise - yes, efficiency per worker is increased but count of them is decreased! So yea - it just complicates a bit factory upgrades - when is right time to do it!

    This has been the most straight forward advice I have seen. I think some more English lessons will help you with pauses, it makes it a little hard to follow. I'm definitely going to watch more of these. This game has a very counter intuitive learning curve.

    Thanks for the tips! Especially since I've watched other videos and they had other ideas, which makes it easier to choose different options. I'm not gonna lie, I'm a casual gamer so I've had to collect a few ideas because the system didn't really make sense to me because I thought about it too linear - like "if I make the people happy they should produce more". But as you say, it's more important to think about the efficiency on all levels.

    Idk who’s playing this in 2021 but legit watched this whole video. I no longer run elections (be mindful you need a very strong military to back you up), I have so many of all the factories making hella cash and I maxed the budget to improve efficiency. Two things he said are a game changer, get your Swiss bank high ASAP and ignore your people. Especially the later. I ignored them end refused to hold elections until my economy was raking in the money. I also turn off all raw resources exports and only sold the goods made from them only had to turn them back on once in the beginning to get that cash boost and I was good from then on. One trick I’ve been doing since Tropico 4 (don’t remember it in 3) but I personally build like 3 libraries in the beginning to spam research. Long video but if you have the patience to watch you will be glad you did. 1 issue I ran into but think I solved it was no uneducated people wanted to work lol. So I set to constitution to have them start at 14 and banned contraceptives lol. So far that seemed to help. If you’re wondering I did have trans and housing close by with even a maxed budget and they still wouldn’t work lol. Thanks for a great and detailed video!

      Happy to hear such a good words from such a Tropico long time player as you ;) Seems that you already managed pretty well also without my tips! And yes - I like to play as the 'good guy' but the option to ban elections at all is also kind of amazing - especially if you still provide good living conditions - there is no problems so much with partisans and such!
      The Library trick actually sounds really good! One thing to notice there - Library mostly gives you access to Edicts (most valuable IMHO) but we need to remember that most of the are extra cost! For example enabling all the edicts ASAP will be pretty heavy on your budget. But if you can carry it and balance out - then of course the sooner you get your hands on edicts, the sooner they level up and the bigger the gain :) Thank you for you awesome comment!

      @@MLMariss lol yea had to chill on some of the edicts lol they were hitting my budget heavy. Got to 16 million at one point so tried to do tourism but it’s a struggle with even over 16 mil. The festival DLC dropped so gonna give it another go. Are you still playing or burnt out? Totally get it if you are but would love to see new gameplay with the new dlc and if it improves tourism which I think they were angling for lol.

      Heh, absolutely - this is one of my favourite games (all the series) so I have already all mission full playthought, just freshly baked :D
      And tourism is not as bad as it looks - I have (older) gameplay where whole economy is JUST on tourism, not a single income from other sources - wanted to test it my self and I was convinced I will be bankrupt in no time. But was surprised when proved myself wrong :D

    1:09:32 thanks so much for this, I’ve been playing Tropico since T3 and there used to be a “don’t allow exports” checkbox to keep things you wanted to use, I had no idea it still existed in a different menu now
    For the last 3 years I’ve been filling warehouses with coal/uranium so it doesn’t get sold and I can use it later 😂

    Very nice video! One problem I keep having is that once I start making money, every single month I loose 3 000 dollars. I found out that it was mostly with wages and plantation. I decreased the budget but did almost nothing! I can't remove them because I need them to produce Rum and Cigars! Like I said, I make profit, but loose all of it every month, and is really ruining my experience.

      Hmm..so wages, edicts, maintenance - every expanse is deducted once at the beginning of the month and then it gradually over the whole month brings back income of buildings/ships. And then again right on the 1st date all the payments are made - thus the money loss as you describe.
      Although plantation and factory budget decrease may seem like a good idea - it's NOT! Remember - those buildings that produce/process something literally make you money. The bigger budget they have (and more expensive) the more efficient they are thus at the end making MORE money even being expensive!
      Where you DO want to reduce the budget (thus saving money) is services - police, firefighters, eddicts that don't directly increase production, science, schools maybe if you are desperate for money..
      Easiest way to find your money dump (and areas where to reduce it) will be almanac budget section where you can see by areas of expanse. Don't look just at the buildings - edicts and policies also change/impact the money flow!

    Many thanks for your videos . They are really informative.I recently got this for consoles, the Xbox . Really enjoying it . But I failed a few times on the missions . Usually down to running out of money or not getting voted for by the people and getting kicked out lol . Hopefully after watching a few of your videos I will be better equipped next time I play 👍🏻

    Tourism works wonderfully for me. If you set entertainment to 'Tourists only', they'll make a shit ton of money. And that money "flows" - you don't have to wait on the dock intervals.
    Skyscrapers, Luxury Hotels, Yacht Club, Gourmet Restaurants. And then diversify other entertainment to pump up Tourism Rating :)

      But yes, you are right - even with some older versions of the game, I have a video where I make money ONLY from tourism - that was a research project for me :D

    The price difference regarding logs and planks is not 700x2.5 but rather (2,100x2.5) - 1500 = 3750 as the resource remain just 1 and the industrial goods get multiplied.

    I just got this game and have already lost my first two play-throughs; the first map I hit -50k shortly after the era after Colonial, and the game politely suggested I start over. The second I didn't realize I had to increase mandate time and lost the game before leaving colonial. Hopefully these tips will help me make it to at least the 3rd era! :D :D

      Heh, rough start, but you'll get ahead! The switches between eras are significant steps and must be prepared, as new options are unlocked also there are new demands and requirements from people/factions/foreign powers, so you have to be (financially) prepared one you do those jumps ;)

    37:45 While it is true that the Automated Line -upgrade decreases the overall efficiency of the workplace, it does free up more labor power for other uses. Essentially the efficiency you get from the machines that replaced the workers are a free bonus in the economy overall.
    You're a central planner, comrade. Not a filthy profit seeking entrepreneurial capitalist! Decrease the efficiency of all workplaces, if it means increasing the greater efficiency of the motherland. Glory to Tropico! ;D

      BUT on the efficiency point - I don't think you should be looking on factory with the mindset of 'hmmm where can I get those people elsewhere to work?' :D
      I mean - if you made a huge mistakes in planning and reputation, and there are literally starving people and you need someone to work in fields...?! Then..I'd also woud not ruin the factory by 'upgrading', but instead shut it down to get some labors elsewhere.

    About entertainment: low fun happiness debuffs tropicans so they are slower, so you definitely want decent fun happiness, but you don't get any or significant enough buffs for very high happiness since the island size can mess it up, so its more of a balance issue than a strategy.
    The real reason is the difference between tropico 4 system and tropico 5 and 6. Tropico 4 was more complex which was good and bad in some ways. It was fully simulated which resulted in weird things. People walking years to get food, healthcare, religion and get to work, so traffic became the number 1 problem in big population. Also, it had strict rules that tropicans cant spend more than 1/3 or 2/6 of their income on rent, so obs really had to be paying 6 or 9 or 12 or 18 or 24, but then the combinations were weird because of the married couple. So you had to micromanage the salaries and you could do stuff you cant now but you couldn't do things you can now. Liek you could make a land rush, basically setting their rent so high no one can afford then next month set it back so everyone moves closer to the job. Or segregate families with double college-educated, mixed couples, cheap people etc. Now tropico 5 and 6 have upkeep for work and upkeep for housing. BAsically groups of wealth which are not exact numbers like before. Having a salary of 11 meant that they can't afford 4 rent so there was no reason giving more than 9 if you didn't give 12 you wasted money. Now they get a salary of 5/5 or 3/5 or whatever and they belong to a group, and they can afford fun, housing and other privileges based on it, so its better a bit. Also tropico 4 had real inequality in female-male proportions, so you had to build certain buildings to occupy your females or males, and you had to mix them so they can get married easier. Now it's simplified cause most job hire both, you got an option in the constitution, and i think some people even live together with workmates not just spouses. I remember dumb things like you had to manually fire pregnant woman cause they hold up jobs, occupied the position but they never worked and never got to the job anyway and lot of people died cause they lived far from something. Also the traffic jams were horrible on high population. So the new system uses effectiveness and not just simulation, which means that not everything is simulated, sometimes the system just rounds up or down, based on the effectiveness of buildings. You got enough teamsters and pay them well then units magically appear in docks. Also they dont have to spend 90% of their life to get food go home and church and things like that.
    Another thing in tropico 4 was TV stations made shittons of money if you put them in middle of a group of housing in a circle shape. So you could make money from that and even entertainment, since they paid real money back to the treasury, i guess it was toned down. I think the wealth groups just allow people to get into entertainment buildings and the fees arent balanced perfectly so you dont get as much, also people dont spend much time in a place but they attend them more often.
    Tourism can fill up the spots in entertainment buildings, while having not enough places is bad, having too much is also bad. I think that we would need some tropicans only buildings too not just "tourists only" ones.
    It was an interesting feature back then, you could amass a debt, make inflation, and tourists were paying more money, which resulted in re-evaluation of prices, while you could spend more money on upgrades which didnt look good at start, cause 20000 dollars became worthless compared to normal prices. New tropico missing inflation, so there is a straight line in entertainment value, not like before that you could intentionally swing out of balance to gain more money from entertainment so thats why wont compete with industry, still got the risks but no benefits.
    I think you are wrong on the rents. You said is better to pay less upkeep for housing cause you spare money. But the housing upkeep means the rent itself. You don't pay the upkeep, they do it. So if you spend 360 on upkeep for 6 slots means 60 each, if you spend 70 on upkeep, it means 10 each. I don't have the exact formula for it, must be like some of the money goes on upkeep and some of it you get back from rents. But as far as i know, it doesn't matter how much you charge them until they are happy with it. The only thing it matters is the coverage. If people fill he building, it will give you profit, if they don't, then you lose on it cause you still spend it on the upkeep but nobody pays rent, so you lose 1/6 if one room is empty 2/6 if 2 is empty. Since changing the rent wont really change the wealth required, or just slightly, and the only people who you will have problem with are the broke ones, there is no point on saving on the upkeep, since yo waste the profit from it.
    Mansions generate huge amount of money if they are at least 2/3 full. But they waste a ton if they got 0 or 1 person inside. The important thing is the location. You place near populated area, with good obs nearby, it will be full. Even if you got some high quality jobs like power plants, research labs, they won't surely move inside a mansion.
    The rule is that each married couple should live in house, each single person should live in apartment. Each rich and filthy rich person should have acces to mansions or housing, each middle class to apartments.
    But so far i noticed that houses without electricity and "show off " mode, without fire station, fast food and fashion bonuses and other bonuses won't really work out. Maybe because of the mixed marriages (simply put, your college-educated people will be rich, high school will be middle class, uneducated will be poor, and immigrants can be anything between broke and rich for few months). So the most demanded housing is tenements, that's the average couple wealth.
    Also, i think they removed the demand of citizens, some people really preferred a lot more their ideals in tropico 4, like some people had low housing expectation so they lived anywhere even they could afford it to be in mansions and some just wanted a close spot to the job with high value. That was the really powerful idea behind education and motivation to get them educated. And since entertainment is worse, capitalism is worse. I used to hate communists in tropico cause their demands were dumb and wasteful. But since the industrialists are the new capitalists, and capitalists want dumb stuff now, even the edicts are better for communists and housing coverage seems to be less risky and better coverage for tenements and modern apartments, than normal housing (which was hands down the best in tropico 4), communism seems a way better choice in most scenarios.

      I read a lot of deep economic and social statuses you are mentioning and I'm for sure not going THAT deep in there, so thank you for sharing all this info!
      The traffic still can be a lot of problems especially if all the jobs are well paid and/or you run a cars for free :D
      The TV station you mentioned - this Tropico 6 actually had this problem with Newspapers, where their where not taking each other in account so you could stack up few of them side by side and make huge money out of it if there is resident areas around :D But in one of patches they finally balanced it out :D
      Oh, the rents..yes I had looked into this and yes - somewhat it seems like they tend to also live in the apartments with higher rent/maintenance as that building will have also better quality (housing), but as you also mentioned - if the building is not full, you start to lose a LOT of money! That is my main concern - when/if you cannot guarantee such a stable inhabitants (for example you build another living area that actually is closer to the work, so people move over) then either it's super micro management to make sure buildings are full, or you lower the rent, so the threshold for income/loss also adjusts and makes the building less profitable, but also less money lost if not full. That was my logic, that can be defeated. :D

      @@MLMariss I haven't seen month-long jams now, even crossroads clear fast. a few tricks that might work: put roundabouts (they totally cut trough the roads so it's kinda funny but way faster than waiting for each other In crossroads), don't put building entrances or busy buildings right next to junctions, put some parks to space it out.
      don't put buildings with road exit right next to the road, that 1 tile distance allows a car in buffer zone instead of waiting inside the building until the jams clear. No 4-way junctions, just 3 way if really necessary. A big loop around the island and each street connect to that instead of every street connecting each other. Put the service buildings together and make proper roads to it, even if a hospital won't require a road entrance, people stop near it to exit the car and others wait on it. Conventillos next to them can host the retired people and metros can really save up on traffic, same goes for cathedrals and grocery.
      Tropicans just go straight across everything and stop when they need to, so each road should have only a few possible destinations, better to have 2 roads for 2 factories than 1 for 2 or more. Same for housing, small groups of housing in middle instead of spreading out in sides. When a road splits, should be empty around it, the closest point from any entrance/exit should be closer to a road than a junction.
      As I said, no point making houses and mansions, especially that tropican born people aren't doing much without TV stations and no loyalist faction anyway. Better housing leads to more kids, which leads to a growth in population, immigration office should always be on skilled workers and not open to all, so closing it and still having too much people is bad. Colleges can get rid of graduates for a decent profit, and creates a fluctuation in population, which isn't bad, since people move, marriages become more likely which leads to better coverage. Tenements for all, conventillos for broke in shitty offsite areas, a few Modern apartments in very busy areas. Actually same sex marriage or forced marriage is good for covering more housing since 2 people afford it easier than 1 and rents are better, people need less space.
      If a newly built house doesn't have 80% occupancy from start, it means that it's a bad location and rather delete it cause it will be always just a second options trough the whole game. The threshold for income shouldn't be much different if you got the child support eddict active. If you pay them max in job they should totally be able to pay rent on max. If they are poor, there is no difference from low rent and highest rent that is still poor, only a waste of money, it won't change the fact that the building is in a bad spot. Force marriage constitution and full houses on max rent are still more kids and revenue than low upkeep low rent. Rents will be always positive with a decent town planning. And married couples will always fill the central housing better than solo tropicans. Also, married couples save on food runs time since they share it. Education is also the same as wealth, college-educated will be always rich since effectiveness on those buildings worth the extra upkeep, so separating them by placing all the college requirement buildings will create a high-income group, same for high school educated cause they are the factory workers mostly (some buildings are just for the bonus so I tend to cut workplaces and keep salary low). As long as you got more workers than jobs, they will take each job, and the job happiness will be high enough, but as soon as something opens they will move around accordingly. This way you force the poor to stay in the worse parts of the city or learn, get married and move to better parts. Its always the low-income foreign people who will go to school so those jobs need a conventillo with a high school near them. and just a weird fact: foreign people love to live near the embassies even if there is no service buildings, they set up shacks sometimes.
      Those conventillos are really good to segregate retired people near the hospitals or students near schools.
      I just like to optimize it better, it's easy to spiral out with industry incomes, but it's better money and more optimal to gain back most of their salary for their rent and entertainment.

    I played this game 3 times from the crown era to the modern era, and I did very good in the start (crown and world wars and the start of the cold wars) but when we got to late game I lost a lot of money

      Hmm..in last era there are 2 more factions coming with their demands and people also are really demanding.. would need to find a source where money went and why income was decreasing/not increasing. There are a lot of awesome tools in last era how you can boost your economy/save spendings: Waster Treatment can make you electricity (must research work modes), that power you can put in upgrading your money making industries (a lot of cool upgrades require power), make sure you are not overproducing electricity - if so, limit employees in your power stations. And in general - if you feel money flows away - expand your base revenue stream - just add few more wood cutters > lumber mills > furniture factories, or start entirely new production chain.. that's first that comes in my mind :) I hope that helps and happy hunting!

    I’ve put modern apartments and on minimum budget it’s costing $72 but the housing quality went down to 45 and wealth required is “well off” yours is showing different?? How come? Thanks

      Nice catch! Got 3 things for the answer:
      1) Checked the video recording date and up until now there have been bugfixes and changes regarding house-quality calculations, this contributes the most
      2) On the latest updated game numbers are as you wrote, just keep in mind that 3 buildings increase housing quality (one is in my video I think) Metro, Fast Food (with Refill mode), and Fashion Company (with Upgrade), so you can boost the quality up to 64 ;)
      3) The 'Well off' is the default requirement and in my video, I have enabled the Free Housing edict, which lowers the requirement for all living houses to 'Broke'

    Is there any benefit from choosing medium volume for trade and not the maximum amount?

      Yes, of course! Look closely at 24:11 where I'm switching to medium amount - reputation penalty is not changing! Which means it is way more efficient than small volume trade. Especially in modern times where each trade will increase reputation with 1 party, but will decrease for all others..this is crucial at the beginning when relationships are crucial and you don't want to be invaded ;)
      But reputation is just one aspect, another point is time it takes to complete. Let me give you example: 24:05 I'm selling boats where scenario 1) I can boost reputation by 10+10 with US once trade is done..which is after 650 boats sold and scenario 2) I can sell 13,000 boats and get 20+20 reputation.
      20 reputation for 650 boats or 40 reputation for 13,000 :) You can see, if you use trade routes to boost reputation (which is really one of easiest ways to do that), then big amount trades will be super inefficient ;)
      Summary: Large amount trade is for lazy money making, long time, less management, max profit (IF that is the maximums +% you can have), all other options are more micro management and usage for playing/benefiting for reputation gain with other parties.

      Oh, yes..I feel you - that is the hardest switch from all eras and mostly because so little 'tools' and options are before and so many needs kick in right after! What I usually do - save. Save as much as you can 50k+ at least and upon switch - open up and expand new industries. Not sure if you do that, but I avoid rushing to get electricity (don't use that at all in that era) as that is another cash dump without proper fundament. The same boats, cigars, rum industries - build, expand as there is a lot of expanses to please people and their needs..
      There is a dump in the wallet, but if properly saved up to this point - there are also good opportunities opening up when switching eras ;) I hope that helps and wish you luck!

    Raid bug work around = you can set 4 raids on repeat, but then it says the queue is full. Set (2) or (3) on repeat and that will leave you (2) or (1) additional random slots to use, respectively. Usually I set the cove and spy academy on repeat after I get the wonders.

      You mean persons to put in buildings to get various bonuses/boosts? No, don't have those. Budget, upgrades and work-modes are 2 things to work with for most of the buildings. Anything closest to that is when you have Ministry and there you can put various ministers to get various bonuses that overall apply to the whole Tropico.

      I feel you, and this is often the case with next games coming out in the series, it always somehow gets watered down and made easier/more dumb-dumb not the other way around. Which is not great for strategy games :/
      At the end I liked Tropic 6 a lot (spent way too many hours there) and the base game is great. Not the DLC's - I think more or less I hated them all :D

      Good question! And I'd say - absolutely, it's doable, but your efficiency will suffer. Meaning 1) primitive buildings not only have lower service provided but also 2) they hold lower amount of inhabitants/service spots so you will have to spend more space compared to modern counterparts.
      Plantations are good example, how much you can get our of the same size compared to Hydroponic Plantations.

      But another way is through Constitution there is Emigration law where I always advice to select 'Love It or Leave It', so it will work for you like this:
      1) People come too much to island
      2) Not enough jobs
      3) They are unhappy
      4) They leave

    No matter what i do doesnt matter if i place my residential buildings literally right next to the workplaces and the workers are always "on their way to work" or "On their way to church" etc etc they are hardly ever there, really frustrating. and yes i do have enough entertainment / needs buildings. the workers just are never at work.....

      Have you tried to track down those people? My first guess would be - they could be stuck at subway as that was well known bug. It is reported as fixed, but just first thing that comes in my mind as I have found people going in subway and actually stuck there.

    Thanks for the tips. I have a question about the automated line upgrade. The upgraded building has higher efficiency 39:54 yet still makes less money. Is it because there are no people around?

      Very good question - no, people are always fully employed, but the problem lies in people being present in the factory! That upgrade makes factory work only for 3 people, so when they are present - they work with higher efficiency 158%, but the problem is - people most of the time are doing their chores! So the 'upgrade' actually is a downgrade! A bit more efficiency, but manpower reduced by 40% (5 workers versus 3 workers when upgraded). So be careful for any production building where upgrade reduces workers!! ;)

    The most confusing thing about this game is its use of the word ‘efficiency’.
    The conventional definition of that word would imply the resource input/output ratio is improved.
    ‘Worker speed’ or ‘productivity’ would be better.

      Very true - in this sense ho workplaces work it could mean: working longer? More output for the same input? Faster processing speed?
      If you think about it - there are so many things unexplained and we just assume from the outcome and testing :D

    How can you get rid off all your entertainment buildings and still have 70 in the almanac?

      No, no, no - don't get me wrong ;) in this video main topic is about money and economy! Entertainment buildings will lose you money more than they will earn (if not set to tourists only)..so the idea is NOT to turn them all of or destroy, but to keep in mind where/how to keep you floating above the water in case of crisis ;) When it comes to people and having rating 70 and more - you will have to build them and entertain your people, but be aware to do that after you have other source of income, as most likely you will start losing your money ;)

      @@MLMariss ok, thanks. I played a map on the hardest settings and in the modern era without any entertainment or health. I had the wonder so no one dies because of poor health and had the basilica so that whenever my Tropicans gain religion all other stats gain 5. At the end I roughly got through elections because of health and entertainment was at 35. So it doesn't really work well if you don't have health care or entertainment. Won elections with heavy use of government tools and the broker.

      There are some benefits and bonuses that 'kick in' only when there are maxed wages..and of course the cost must pay back in revenues + interest. It's a balance between and it's easy to step over and crash your balance :D

    Serious question here. How many teamster office is just too many? Because if too much then wages burden will blow up obviously
    Also I played some maps already and finding out the best ratio but always varies. I always double shifts teamsters and full budget them. I always built 6-7 offices for the big main island, same industries for each maps and positioned industries downstream near towards the dock, residential is near, but 1 map produces almost 70k but the other stucked at 40k (both at cold war with 2 docks) The only difference is 1 map has docks near to each other and the other the docks are at each ends of the island. And when I check the items are properly being carried from each industries, and the teamsters are always on the move. Does the placement of docks also matter to export power? Because I read from steam community that the teamsters seems to move items from 1 docks to other to balance out the quantity thus lowering export efficiency. Hoping to hear your opinion on this :)

      Thank you for the comment - there is a lot to unpack :) Too much Teamsters would be if A) They don't run with full capacity B) they make traffic jams themselves c) as you mentioned - the cost burden is too heavy.
      My approach to this question is from other side - make as less as Teamsters as possible and then aswer question - how much is too little Teamsters? And that is easty - if any of building will be full at any given moment! (of course if that is input material, then you need more such buildings not Teamsters).
      For Docks - my experience is that goods are delivered to far end Dock only if current is full (there is limit how much resource can be held in dock), so having more docks spread across island to reduce Teamster travel time should give the best results. To be fair - this is first time I hear such Dock balancing thing happening..

      Don't know if the dock thing works or not. Just got Tropico 6 for PS4 a few days ago. When playing Tropico 5, I used to spread out the docks so as to try and reduce travel time, but they always ended up saturating mostly 1 dock and leaving the others alone. I'll try to watch and see if this happens in Trop 6

    Hello people. I've been playing since recently and I'm wondering, is the game in the same stats right now ? I've noticed some values are different ? -I remember for instance the teamsters losing up to 10% of what they're carrying, if I'm not mistaken). Has it been patched to upgrade the necessity to do entertainment and other "need" building or can I still kinda skip them to save money ?

      Interesting question you've got there :) Short answer - yes, there has been updates to balance things and reduce/increase some stats. Being said that, there could be a 10%/20% change from what you have used to see, but not sure this exact teamster number is the one that has been changed. As for entertainment - there is still a ways around it if you are looking for them :D
      But entertainment was buffed in terms of tourism, as that was really imbalanced.

      @@MLMariss Thanks for answering man :). Yeah I double checked and at the time of your video, the teamsters could lose up to 5% of their freight if you use the corresponding mode, now it's 10%, but that's all I noticed for sure.

      I'm missing something here - how do you make Swiss money from crime lords? Prison work mode gets money out of the crime, but that is not Swiss money. I'm clearly missing something for this tactic, help me out here! :D

      Those are good tips :) Just pay attention that single/multi culture modes are not working - in terms of efficiency single culture still provides highest yield and the soil degradation doesn't influence it at all :)
