This is very good practice, something I too was told many years ago and after giving it some stick il drive the last few miles of each journey calmly haha
Those after run pumps are only £50 for a Bosch one on auto doc. Also I run that very same turbo set up on my s3 8l and git just over 400hp using ignitron ecu and mapped at badger 5. They are a good turbo. Also he fitted my aem meth kit i went a twin nozzle set up one before the map sensor and one with a adaptor after the throttle body.
Nice - I never realised what the water/meth injection stuff was doing, good to finally understand that! Looks like you're feeling good about this car 👌🏻
Yeah it’s a very cool thing to have, it also helps keep the cylinders and valves clean, no carbon build up stealing precious bhp haha. Yes mate absolutey love it
Hey dom hope your doing well 😊iv only gone and bought another bam 225 😅 still loving the vids and STILL after 6 years got my parrot bros cap. I may need to order another b4 the summer because its abit oily haha 😂much love gazza wales
Haha welcome back!! knew it was only a matter of time hehe.... Its one of those cars that get under your skin! glad to have you back in a TT mate, any questions you know where i am
Will now be checking that my pump is still working - a little job for tomorrow. Really interesting to see the set-up on your car. Would also be interested to see the torque curve if you have it. Looking forward to seeing what else you'll be doing to the car. Thanks for the video.
Thanks buddy, hope yours is in good working order. It’s a fantastic build and I just want to enhance it as best I can. Yes, I have a graph so will be more than happy to post them through to see, as soon as I go to badger 5 I will do a video while they’re showing a live run
Very informative video thanks. Owning a twenty year old tt (owned mine for 6 years) is a constant learning diy experience. Would like to have had a better view of where/how the catch can is mounted as it looks nice and tidy. Your vids have helped me lots and saved me more than a few bob.

I have replaced the aux pump last year, since some days before, I miss something when parking the car. This little noise, witch used to stand some minutes after the engine was off 😅 I don’t understand therefore how the no MAF is possible ! 😳
It doesn’t take the air reading from the maf. It uses the map sensor for air pressure. The stand alone management is extremely clever ( does cost £1200 ) haha
I had a perfect working auxiliary pump until two months ago when the output end of it snapped (without warning) on the highway and made me 500€ poorer 😅 (carrying the car included). Very useful info to people out there who aren't aware of it Don. Just take a few more seconds lads and inspect the plastic inlet/outlet part of the pump which can snap and drain your coolant fluid.
Ooo no! That sounds terrible. I bet for a moment you had a mad panic as the steam was rushing out! Thanks appreciate the kind words mate, yes check it, all plastic coolant pipes need a visual inspection now and then 🤞🏻
There is a fuse for the Fan control module above the battery, usually it doesn't blow a fuse it just fails to run, you can prove this by giving it a 12v power source and see if it runs
You starting to beat me to some of the mods on my to do list 😂 hopefully you've spoken to Bill before Saturday so I can talk about meth as was wondering same while I'm swapping inlet and rocker cover over was going to fit the meth adapter plate.... keep up the good vids, see you Saturday 👍🏻
Great vid mate, i have noticed mine is working which is great. Do you have a part number for that pump just incase i need to replace it at somepoint please?
Loving the content of this TT pal 👍 running the same turbo as me and I’m also considering the meth route as these hybrids run so hot. I did query bill at B5 about it and turns out I don’t need Ignitron to run meth but part of me still wants meth and Ignitron to run in tandem for that safety and longevity aspect. Maybe over winter, who knows 😅
Thanks mate, it’s a fantastic set up, a decent amount of power which is so linear and usable. I think it’s the best power to weight for these. Ignitron isn’t essential but it’s mad how clever it is, all the safety features bill can set up so if it doesn’t see the figures at once, it can put it in limp mode to protect the engine
Hi Dom, great video by the way 😊 Out of interest I see you are running a stock Diverter Valve, is this ok with the set up you have? Reason for asking is I have a K04 Hybrid/Chinafold/Badger 5 TIP etc, etc in a Mk2 Jetta which I have literally just got on the road, I've fitted a Forge 008 DV and the whooshing sound is not to my liking so I was thinking of swapping it back to an OEM valve - just wondered if there is any pitfalls in doing so (it is yet to be mapped)? Cheers and keep up the good work 👍
Very nice car. Are the enigne internals stock? Im from germany and everyone here says that you should upgrade the pistons and rods on the 225 engines when you want to make 300+ hp. And does the car have a bigger downpipe and exhaust?
If it is not working I would certainly get it deal with sooner rather than later, last thing you want is Turbo problems because it's not cooling down properly
My pump works fine as you show it on test but as soon as I turn the key off the pump stops! Doesn’t matter if I’ve run the car or not. Is that the fan control module causing the issue?
I was planning on a hybrid turbo for my 180. What is needed to run one of these pumps? I've noticed my car stays running the fans and what not sometimes after turning the car off. I'm not 100% what is running but it's only happened twice, must of been hot.
So your fans run off your thermal switch in the radiator which has a supply permanently so if your car goes off hot it will run to bring the temp down. It’s a completely different pipe set up and would be very complicated to add into the system.
I have since removed it and I have a static number plate which can be fitted and removed by simply peeling it off. Fully road legal as correct spacing and Printed of the correct reflective material 🙂
@@pigeonguardgames507 it will be a case of see what happens. I’m not drawing attention to my self as when driving it will have a fixed plate of correct size 🙂🤞🏻
@@TheParrottBros Ah...good plan, I was hoping to put one on the front of my car and drive about like it! but the police round here focus on car drivers rather than real crime, so it would have to be bullet proof legally😂

That’s awesome, not for you but it’s made the video worth making mate haha. Get it swapped out and job will be a gooden
