It depends on the quality of the patch, I had some before which came off very quick. But this one did not came off so far. And to make it more secure you can make a few invisible hand stitches around it.
My advice learn basic sewing to reinforce the patch , I’m mind blown thou
Used fabric glue because it won't wash off and melt off in the dryer.
