    If I got a frag after doing a thermal paste change on a TSOP 1.0, would it be from the TSOP points maybe that came off? It happened twice on two separate 1.0’s.

    well it's nice to finally find a quality video about the FRAG problem but I have no idea how to do any of this.

    So, what are the odds that a non-modded F.R.A.G issue can be successfully fixed? Interesting enough, I heard it's hard to diagnose, given it's a serious issue that doesn't have many solutions which could probably mean the motherboard is dead and the only option would be to replace it

      There's a lot of great videos on the Xbox . And a cap replacement is a good start . Then follow up with the traces also easy fix .

    I've got this problem on 2 Xboxes, on at least one of them the clock capacitor leaking has caused some trace damage nearby, could that also cause this error? Thanks

    This is the same problem I'm having with my old Xbox. If I open it up and find that the clock cap is the cause, where can I find a replacement? I searched on eBay and the only listing is $18. I might as well buy a new Xbox at that price.

      +Snarkticon I don't know about you but I've only seen these for sale for about $40.

      the cap cost less then a dollar! shop around go to a electronic shop...its easy to fix but you don't have to replace it you can just remove it clean the effected areas an your all good

      Thanks for the feedback, Kevin. I'll remove the cap and clean the baord around it to see if that helps.
      I've bought a few other Xboxen in the meantime that work perfectly. Do you recommend I remove the clock capacitor from them preemptively?

      Snarkticon I would ..and I like the clock so I replaced all 5 xboxes of mine

      +Kevin Twiner Cool, thanks. one last question! What is the difference (if any) between the 1uF and 1F markings on capacitors? I've seen 2.5v, 1F capacitors online, but haven't seen any marked as 2.5v, 1uF.

    I think this is the fault mine has, it is very similar in the way it's playing up and there's one bulging capacitor near that very spot.

      Did you get your capacitor fixed ? An did it resolve the issue?

      Sounds like you need to replace your capacitors and while you have the system apart put new thermal paste on the processor under the heatsink. I recommend artic silver 👌✨🙏

    My xbox is very unstable, it randomly freezes and when it does, sometimes it frags.... any help?

    • @realgroovy24
      @realgroovy24 2 роки тому

      It would probably be thermal paste being bad causing overheating or instability due to capacitors. Hard to tell.
      Could be numerous other things.

    hi, I have a few questions that i need answering. (i don't know how to google) :P
    first of all. my version uses the focus graphics chip so either i have 1.4 or 1.5
    I want to fix my xbox, even remod it (the last person i bought it off fucked up and did a real shit job of modding it and worse yet. took the mod piece away :( ). and over clock it and do a super mod on it. i need to buy this Aladdin XT Plus2 thing and solder extra Ram onto the main ram on the xbox. and many other things. but i think i managed to break a little tiny part near the nvidia or focus part of the xbox. (just near the soldering holes that are used to install the mod chip) (that little tiny chip that bridges or something. making the xbox useless i think. and i have the same issue as you. there seams to be this whiteish type residue that does not come off at all. (like calcium building up around a tap) without a bit of Aussie man handling. i had dismantled my xbox and am needing to save up money to do this.
    what type of equipment would you think would be suitable for modding?
    what type of gear would i need?
    and finally the most important question is. is there a way to solder in a kill switch that connects to my controller so i can make my game freeze? :P (reason is so when i do random lets plays of xbox games when i say the game is really glitchy i can make the game freeze and act as if it was real)
    this is all for now. and i hope we can be friends ;)

      @KevinTwiner  8 років тому +1

      well with your board in the condition it is in and already having so many things broken I would suggest just to use it for a donor system and find one that is working! without pictures or a video to show me your problem areas it would be impossible for me to know where to start to help you . as far an tools you would need a soldering iron and flux solder some small pliers rubbing alcohol to clean areahs after flux is applied a magnifying glass is a must and the RAM chips take alot of skill to set correctly. as far as over clock I. don't know about that. unless it is a different CPU. the best way to do freeze frame videos would be to softmod it using a exploit . hope this helps and best of luck

    Old video an hopefully someone will see this. got a 1.3 xbox here that is flashing orange then turns off after 5 seconds. Not 100% sure of the cause of this, happened after connecting a modchip to the lpc header, Thinking TSOP or EEPROM has failed, has yourself or anyone else seen this issue before
