This is spot on. Anyone watching the games knows that CMC and Tyreek are the two most deserving than any other player this year. If a QB wins it this year, they will forever be seen as the worst MVP of all other QBs that have won the award. The NFL is especially being criticized this year about the lack of exceptional QB play and that's not even considering the players that have gotten hurt (in fact it seems like the only QBs that would be viable options for the award had gotten hurt i.e Burrow and Cousins). Not only should the award go to a non-QB this year, but it would actually be the best representation the NFL has had at MVP in a long time.
If there's any year the NFL should be celebrating the importance of other positions than QB, it's this season with how good Tyreek and CMC have been for 2 of the best teams in the league.
@@davidcook680 Similar to CJ Stroud, who is barely behind Dak with 23 total TDs and 5 picks. Tyreek will be the clear WR 1 by a mile at the end of the year. Mostert is the only RB with more TDs than CMC by 2, but CMC is still 200 + yards ahead of all other RBs. And yet, just like the video states, it'll still be a QB award.
I have watched every 49er game without fail since the Harbaugh era. I've seen every single 49er game, and preseason game, since Alex Smith was playing for them. I've seen Shanahan's Offense pass over about 6 QBs who just couldn't cut it, and yes that includes Jimmy G who was never able to use this offense to its full advantage, even with these same weapons (minus CMC). And I saw, as did all of us, what happened to this team when Brock Purdy was not leading it last year at the NFCC.....it wasn't even a game, it was an embarrassment. That CMC you tout as being so much more important to this offense than Purdy tried playing QB and looked ridiculous. And I love CMC, but he's no QB. And while I'm on that topic, let's not pretend like Jimmy didn't have elite talent around him too, not to mention a better OLine. He had a starting lineup that most teams would kill to have and yet he still managed to choke at crucial times and couldn't consistently throw more than 7 yards with 17 points on the board. So no more of this "but Jimmy did it!" bullshit; that's just not how it works. The ball has to get there somehow. It's up to the QB to deliver the coach's plays, and deliver them properly and accurately. Again, look back at history these past 7 years when subpar QBs are in this offense....it's no comparison. Brock Purdy is a difference maker, and based on his stats he's the front runner for MVP. We're a 2-win team without him.....4 maybe at most with Darnold, and that's being nice. If you want to say that he's not the most EXCITING MVP candidate, then okay I guess. But the real crime here is not that there are mediocre MVP candidates over difference makers....the real crime here is that Brock Purdy is playing like a first or second-round talent and was drafted last. And even more so the fact that people still don't recognize him outside of being "Mr. Irrelevant".

My MVP vote is Brock Purdy. 1st in yards per attempt (9.9) 1st in passing success rate (54.6%) 1st in touchdown % (7.6%) 1st in touchdowns (29) 1st in passer rating (119.0) potential to finish all time (122.5) 1st in qbr (76.0) 1st in yards gained per completion (14.2) 2nd in passing yards (3795) 2nd in completion % (69.8%) 3rd in total league tds (31) he also leads in most of the adjusted passing yard stats Brock Purdy has broke records this season, and he is also currently closing in on franchise records for the 49ers. Quarterbacks are supposed to manage the football game, just like how running backs are meant to run the football, and how wide receivers are meant to catch the ball. Brock Purdy does his job, and he’s really good at it.
The two that deserve votes in my opinion are Dak Prescott and Brock Purdy. Beyond those two, not sure if any other quarterback should get votes. I wouldn’t be stunned if a non quarterback gets it.
Dak does. He has been amazing for awhile now. 26 passing touchdowns to only 6 picks. Over three thousand yards. No fumbles. Plus the cowboys are nine and three.

I literally explained it in the video, why I don’t think he’s the MVP, if you don’t want to evaluate the play on the field and just want to look at the stats that’s fine, but just understand you’re not getting the whole picture. There is nothing wrong with being a good game manager, I never said there was. I also never said Purdy is bad. I think he’s a good QB. I agree in that Garrett means more to his team than anyone. Hasn't been a defensive player win since the 80s, and it's not going to happen this season, either. I just think, by the definition, he is the most valuable player. And I'm a Steelers fan.

Purdy is the only QB I'd consider for MVP. Granted, I'm a 9er fan but he definitely seems to check all the boxes for QBs. I'd really like to see CMC though. He deserves it for sure. It definitely needs to be him and Tyreek
If Purdy wins out he would have beat out 3 of the other 4 qbs for mvp. His stats are at the top and he is doing that while being behind one of the bottom 1/3rd rated oline.

CMC is surrounded by all pros just like Purdy is. When Trent and Deebo went down, CMC had a big dropoff in production just like Purdy. I have no idea who the most valuable player is on this 49ers team. He hasn't carried the offense--there are 5 other great players on the offense.
For the 49ers, ask yourself here: which would be worse for the 49ers? If they trade Brock away, or if they trade CMC away? Everybody knows which player the team needs. Purdy came to a Super Bowl-ready team; CMC made them a Super Bowl-ready team. And I say this as a 49ers fan and a Purdy fan, recognizing that he is a very good quarterback (much better than Jimmy G, anyways).
Man CMC has a bunch of all pros around him, too. 49ers went to the SB in 2019 w/o CMC. Yes, CMC has made this team better and near unstoppable on offense, but would that be the case if we were missing one or two of the other stars? CMC's production really fell (and yes I know he was banged up) when Deebo and Trent went down. Aiyuk is incredible himself. Also I'm really not sure about the answer to this question. Depends who you're replacing Brock with, and QB is a much higher leverage position, even with CMC's all-around threat capabilities. CMC is a better player than Purdy, no question. But I have no idea how to tell who is the most important player on this team is... it's an ensemble production and a hard one to parse.
Heavily disagree, he's averaging 123.4 yards per game which puts him on pace for 1975 yards in 16 games which would still beat Calvin Johnson's receiving yards record.

If the 49ers go max for the last games it will be Purdy unless he gets hurt or has a massive drop in quality. This is just looking from a commercial standpoint. The NFL can market a "rags to riches" story which everyone loves. But yeah, I would give it to CMC as the RB position deserves some more love these days and he represents it like none other.

I didn't mention his QBR because every QB that has played in that Shanahan offense has an inflated QBR. Again I'm not saying he's bad, he is obviously a much better QB than Garoppolo ever was. All I'm saying is that having Deebo Samuel shrug off a defender to turn a 5 yard slant into a 50 yard TD and then do it again by taking a bubble screen to the house doesn't make an MVP of him.

They're ruining the game. There are how many truly competent coaches right now in situations where they get to be good? Matt Eberflus forced Luke Getsy's hands limiting what plays he could use. Ejiro Evero seems to be allowed to do whatever he wants, which is as it should be, but I have No Idea of Ken Dorsey is bad or only similarly limited by Sean McDermott. Allen might be the only case of a White QB suffering for this that I'm aware of. Is that "progress?" No. This is ruining the game.
If you replace Allen with any other quarterback the Bills are a 5-12 team at best. He account's for 80 percent of the offense production and he'll have about 46 total touchdowns this year which leads the NFL.

This is honestly the closest thing I’ve ever seen to it and it’s not just me saying it. This kid is special. And I love all this hate he’s getting g because I think Brock possesses that crazy MJ, Brady, Kobe competitive drive that along with an almost insane work ethic leads guys to greatness. Everything I hear from his teammates is reminiscent of things I’ve heard said about a former all time great. Now he’s got a long ways to go, but I believe the mental makeup is there and so is the desire. So just sit back and enjoy. He’s fun to watch and he’s a genuinely humble dude. The MVP doesn't go to the most valuable player for their team. It goes to the most marketable person to of the league. Defense doesn't sell subscriptions for RedZone. If the MVP went to the most valuable player for a contending team then the top candidates would be very Different. The NFL have their made men at quarterback who the media hypes up and they're always in the MVP race just from having an above average season. But This is the year we're the old guard is nearly gone and the new made men like Burrow, Allen and Herbert who they hyped up to no end are underperformed all at the same time. It's the same thing that happened last season but a made man was playing in the superbowl so he got the award when it clearly should have been Hurts. But he's not a made man.

Purdy is put in a position to throw all those TDs, never forced into situations where he’s gonna have to risk an interception on a tough throw, and the team relies on him less than all the other Top 20 QBs evidenced by him having thrown less attempts than all of them like you brought up. Why are the 49ers able to do that for Purdy? Because of McCaffrey. Again, as I’ve reiterated in responses to other comments, I don’t think Purdy is bad, I think he’s a good QB, just not an MVP.

the running game has always mattered yes, but running the ball was a much larger part of the game back then than it is now, the offense is centered mainly around CMC. And to me, if anyone on that offense should win the MVP, it should be the player that it is built around. It’s ok if you disagree, that’s fine. I’m as big a Lamar fan as anybody, I was just showing his stats aren’t as good as his MVP season. Even if you think he’s a top 3 QB, which I do, he’s not winning MVP this year.

Second we saw Tyreek hill with Skyler Thomson throwing him the ball for a portion of last season. They did DECENT. Only made the wildcard cuz our previous wins but they weren't NEARLY the same team as when Tua is back there.

I have to preface what I'm about to say by mentioning that I am a die hard Bills fan. Has Josh Allen had his best year? No. Has he been an absolute turnover machine? Yes, and while not all of them are 11% his fault it's still an issue. Should he win it when the Bills are only 6-6? No. But why the f*ck did you not at all mention that he leads the league in Touchdowns? In the video, you didn't forget to mention this; you chose to not include it! FYI, my frontrunner for MVP is Myles Garrett, my runner up is CMC, and my third is Cheetah. They all contribute to their teams in unimaginable ways and all deserve it this year.

Brock deserves MVP. I’m not sure why so few people bring up QB efficacy under pressure, but his is better by far than any other QB this year, and is historically great. Even in his losses, he didn’t play as poorly as a lot of people say. He put his team in a position to win against the Browns after struggling all day (stepped up when it mattered most), only for Moody to miss a fairly easy FG. Against both the Vikes and the Bengals, his mistakes, though few, were in the worst possible times. And saying he is surrounded by talent is a complete smokescreen, and has been held against literally no MVP ever. None of them won without their team stepping up and supporting them. I do hope Tyreek goes off these last 3 games though, and wins MVP, since I also agree it isn’t just a QB award, and I think the Niners are playing for each other. No individual award is better than a Super Bowl ring.
Look, I shouldn’t have been as dismissive as I may have seemed to be in the video of Purdy. That’s what most of the negative comments have been about. I think Purdy is a good QB, I never meant to make it seem otherwise. He’s great under pressure, picked up that offense incredibly fast, and almost always makes the right play. And I would never expect a QB to do well without talent around them, the only one I can think of in recent history is Lamar his MVP year. To me tho, when I watch them play, I just think CMC affords them to do so much of what they want to on offense, to me meaning he’s more valuable, that’s all. Not that Purdy is bad, I feel like people think that’s what I mean which has been most of the backlash.

Tua got hurt last year, Hill didn't do anything when Tua got hurt. Sooo yes I will have Tua higher than Hill. Hill can have 2000 rec yards, but Tua is going to have 4000 or 5000 passing yards
To make a fair comp, it would have to be an average QB stepping in. Skylar Thompson is far from an average QB. Just like Tyreek not doing much without Tua, if you put Tua on a team full of backups, say the Panthers for lack of a better example, he’s not doing anything either. At the end of the day football is the quintessential team sport, but you’re kidding yourself if you believe Tua is more valuable to what the Dolphins do on offense than Tyreek
This video had so many flaws that trying to explain each one doesn't do justice. They all need their own time to be explained, but videos like this will throw so many bad takes that a person may feel overwhelmed. I'm not. Your takes are bad. I can tell you two quick things. Speaking about fantasy doesn't change reality. That replace player with another player is fun when chatting with people, but it's not a basis for MVP. Another thing is you can't complain about the race because people you thought should be up there are playing badly. This is football, and if you can't accept reality, go play Madden. You have more than a handful of other takes that were bad in this video, and if anyone want to explain how they are not, feel free. Just don't try to throw multiple into one and use insults because it discredits your argument.

He does look really good I have no problem saying that. I was a little more harsh than I should've been because I recorded this before his game against Seattle which really impressed me to see him put up those numbers against a good team rather than the 3 games before that against the Commanders, Panthers, and Giants.

They don't value stats for QB's unless it's one of the main players (mahomes, allen, hurts, burrow). Kirk Cousins was having a fantastic year before he got hurt, he was on pace for around 4.5k yards, 35 tds and around 10 ints and if that was better than any QB in the league he still wouldnt have won it becuz he isnt one of the main QB's. Mahomes deserved his mvp award last year but none of these QB's deserve the award in 2023. Should be cmc or hill Rams fan speakin
if Cousins would’ve stayed healthy and kept that up he would’ve been in the conversation, especially with how everyone else is doing, but only if the Vikings started winning more games than they were. Unfortunate Kirk didn’t get to finish out this year he was doing pretty great

If you examine the quality of his throws, you might change your mind. Go through all his games in slo-mo and you'll be amazed. This has been in all but one game that his touch, accuracy, and reads(often 3-4) are on a level above all others. Please look, hourly see it.

This is spot on. Anyone watching the games knows that CMC and Tyreek are the two most deserving than any other player this year. If a QB wins it this year, they will forever be seen as the worst MVP of all other QBs that have won the award. The NFL is especially being criticized this year about the lack of exceptional QB play and that's not even considering the players that have gotten hurt (in fact it seems like the only QBs that would be viable options for the award had gotten hurt i.e Burrow and Cousins). Not only should the award go to a non-QB this year, but it would actually be the best representation the NFL has had at MVP in a long time.
If there's any year the NFL should be celebrating the importance of other positions than QB, it's this season with how good Tyreek and CMC have been for 2 of the best teams in the league.

I have watched every 49er game without fail since the Harbaugh era. I've seen every single 49er game, and preseason game, since Alex Smith was playing for them. I've seen Shanahan's Offense pass over about 6 QBs who just couldn't cut it, and yes that includes Jimmy G who was never able to use this offense to its full advantage, even with these same weapons (minus CMC). And I saw, as did all of us, what happened to this team when Brock Purdy was not leading it last year at the NFCC.....it wasn't even a game, it was an embarrassment. That CMC you tout as being so much more important to this offense than Purdy tried playing QB and looked ridiculous. And I love CMC, but he's no QB.
And while I'm on that topic, let's not pretend like Jimmy didn't have elite talent around him too, not to mention a better OLine. He had a starting lineup that most teams would kill to have and yet he still managed to choke at crucial times and couldn't consistently throw more than 7 yards with 17 points on the board. So no more of this "but Jimmy did it!" bullshit; that's just not how it works.
The ball has to get there somehow. It's up to the QB to deliver the coach's plays, and deliver them properly and accurately. Again, look back at history these past 7 years when subpar QBs are in this offense....it's no comparison. Brock Purdy is a difference maker, and based on his stats he's the front runner for MVP. We're a 2-win team without him.....4 maybe at most with Darnold, and that's being nice.
If you want to say that he's not the most EXCITING MVP candidate, then okay I guess. But the real crime here is not that there are mediocre MVP candidates over difference makers....the real crime here is that Brock Purdy is playing like a first or second-round talent and was drafted last. For the 49ers, ask yourself here: which would be worse for the 49ers? If they trade Brock away, or if they trade CMC away? Everybody knows which player the team needs. Purdy came to a Super Bowl-ready team; CMC made them a Super Bowl-ready team.

Man CMC has a bunch of all pros around him, too. 49ers went to the SB in 2019 w/o CMC. Yes, CMC has made this team better and near unstoppable on offense, but would that be the case if we were missing one or two of the other stars? CMC's production really fell (and yes I know he was banged up) when Deebo and Trent went down. Aiyuk is incredible himself. Also I'm really not sure about the answer to this question. Depends who you're replacing Brock with, and QB is a much higher leverage position, even with CMC's all-around threat capabilities. CMC is a better player than Purdy, no question. But I have no idea how to tell who is the most important player on this team is... it's an ensemble production and a hard one to parse.

If the 49ers go max for the last games it will be Purdy unless he gets hurt or has a massive drop in quality. This is just looking from a commercial standpoint. The NFL can market a "rags to riches" story which everyone loves. But yeah, I would give it to CMC as the RB position deserves some more love these days and he represents it like none other.

I didn't mention his QBR because every QB that has played in that Shanahan offense has an inflated QBR. Again I'm not saying he's bad, he is obviously a much better QB than Garoppolo ever was. All I'm saying is that having Deebo Samuel shrug off a defender to turn a 5 yard slant into a 50 yard TD and then do it again by taking a bubble screen to the house doesn't make an MVP of him.

They're ruining the game. There are how many truly competent coaches right now in situations where they get to be good? Matt Eberflus forced Luke Getsy's hands limiting what plays he could use. Ejiro Evero seems to be allowed to do whatever he wants, which is as it should be, but I have No Idea of Ken Dorsey is bad or only similarly limited by Sean McDermott.
Allen might be the only case of a White QB suffering for this that I'm aware of. Is that "progress?" No. This is ruining the game.
If you replace Allen with any other quarterback the Bills are a 5-12 team at best. He account's for 80 percent of the offense production and he'll have about 46 total touchdowns this year which leads the NFL.

As 49er fans we watch other games now and if the passes doesn’t hit the receiver in the perfect spot in stride we’re like what’s wrong with their QB. We don’t get delay of game penalties, false starts, illegal formations. We never looked confused. The ball placement is surgical. Brock is hitting guys on bombs. A miss on a pass is like if it’s off by 1 maybe 2 feet on deep balls.
I grew up watching Joe Montana in his prime. This is honestly the closest thing I’ve ever seen to it and it’s not just me saying it. This kid is special. And I love all this hate he’s getting g because I think Brock possesses that crazy MJ, Brady, Kobe competitive drive that along with an almost insane work ethic leads guys to greatness. Everything I hear from his teammates is reminiscent of things I’ve heard said about a former all time great. Now he’s got a long ways to go, but I believe the mental makeup is there and so is the desire.

The MVP doesn't go to the most valuable player for their team. It goes to the most marketable person to of the league. Defense doesn't sell subscriptions for RedZone. If the MVP went to the most valuable player for a contending team then the top candidates would be very Different. The NFL have their made men at quarterback who the media hypes up and they're always in the MVP race just from having an above average season. But This is the year we're the old guard is nearly gone and the new made men like Burrow, Allen and Herbert who they hyped up to no end are underperformed all at the same time. It's the same thing that happened last season but a made man was playing in the superbowl so he got the award when it clearly should have been Hurts. But he's not a made man.

Purdy is put in a position to throw all those TDs, never forced into situations where he’s gonna have to risk an interception on a tough throw, and the team relies on him less than all the other Top 20 QBs evidenced by him having thrown less attempts than all of them like you brought up. Why are the 49ers able to do that for Purdy? Because of McCaffrey. Again, as I’ve reiterated in responses to other comments, I don’t think Purdy is bad, I think he’s a good QB, just not an MVP.
@@ArmanTalks I'm old enough to have seen that Joe Montana, who nobody has ever said was irrelevant, had Rojer Craig pounding out yards, over 1000/ season and catching the same as CMC. The running game has always mattered to an MVP candidate.

the running game has always mattered yes, but running the ball was a much larger part of the game back then than it is now, the offense is centered mainly around CMC. And to me, if anyone on that offense should win the MVP, it should be the player that it is built around. It’s ok if you disagree, that’s fine. As long as you can see where I’m coming from cause I can see where you’re coming from. If I could make the video again, I would’ve given Purdy a lil more time but he just wasn’t as high in the MVP race at the time that I made it, ultimately I would still feel CMC is more valuable.

I’m as big a Lamar fan as anybody, I was just showing his stats aren’t as good as his MVP season. Even if you think he’s a top 3 QB, which I do, he’s not winning MVP this year.
First off " stat nerds " pissed me off cuz if you're not going off of stats you're going off opinions. And opinions are like a holes everyone's got them.
Second we saw Tyreek hill with Skyler Thomson throwing him the ball for a portion of last season. They did DECENT. Only made the wildcard cuz our previous wins but they weren't NEARLY the same team as when Tua is back there.
Stats are valuable of course, by “stat nerds” I mean people who just stat watch and don’t watch the games. Obviously stats are useful, I used them in my video. Also, I specifically said if you replaced Tua with an average QB. Skyler Thompson isn’t even an average backup QB lmao
I have to preface what I'm about to say by mentioning that I am a die hard Bills fan. Has Josh Allen had his best year? No. Has he been an absolute turnover machine? Yes, and while not all of them are 11% his fault it's still an issue. Should he win it when the Bills are only 6-6? No. But why the f*ck did you not at all mention that he leads the league in Touchdowns? In the video, you didn't forget to mention this; you chose to not include it!
FYI, my frontrunner for MVP is Myles Garrett, my runner up is CMC, and my third is Cheetah. They all contribute to their teams in unimaginable ways and all deserve it this year.

Brock deserves MVP. I’m not sure why so few people bring up QB efficacy under pressure, but his is better by far than any other QB this year, and is historically great. Even in his losses, he didn’t play as poorly as a lot of people say. He put his team in a position to win against the Browns after struggling all day (stepped up when it mattered most), only for Moody to miss a fairly easy FG. Against both the Vikes and the Bengals, his mistakes, though few, were in the worst possible times. And saying he is surrounded by talent is a complete smokescreen, and has been held against literally no MVP ever. None of them won without their team stepping up and supporting them.
I do hope Tyreek goes off these last 3 games though, and wins MVP, since I also agree it isn’t just a QB award, and I think the Niners are playing for each other. No individual award is better than a Super Bowl ring.
Look, I shouldn’t have been as dismissive as I may have seemed to be in the video of Purdy. That’s what most of the negative comments have been about. I think Purdy is a good QB, I never meant to make it seem otherwise. He’s great under pressure, picked up that offense incredibly fast, and almost always makes the right play. And I would never expect a QB to do well without talent around them, the only one I can think of in recent history is Lamar his MVP year. To me tho, when I watch them play, I just think CMC affords them to do so much of what they want to on offense, to me meaning he’s more valuable, that’s all. Not that Purdy is bad, I feel like people think that’s what I mean which has been most of the backlash.

Tua got hurt last year, Hill didn't do anything when Tua got hurt. Sooo yes I will have Tua higher than Hill. Hill can have 2000 rec yards, but Tua is going to have 4000 or 5000 passing yards
To make a fair comp, it would have to be an average QB stepping in. Skylar Thompson is far from an average QB. Just like Tyreek not doing much without Tua, if you put Tua on a team full of backups, say the Panthers for lack of a better example, he’s not doing anything either. At the end of the day football is the quintessential team sport, but you’re kidding yourself if you believe Tua is more valuable to what the Dolphins do on offense than Tyreek
This video had so many flaws that trying to explain each one doesn't do justice. They all need their own time to be explained, but videos like this will throw so many bad takes that a person may feel overwhelmed. I'm not. Your takes are bad. I can tell you two quick things. Speaking about fantasy doesn't change reality. That replace player with another player is fun when chatting with people, but it's not a basis for MVP. Another thing is you can't complain about the race because people you thought should be up there are playing badly. This is football, and if you can't accept reality, go play Madden. You have more than a handful of other takes that were bad in this video, and if anyone want to explain how they are not, feel free. He does look really good I have no problem saying that. I was a little more harsh than I should've been because I recorded this before his game against Seattle which really impressed me to see him put up those numbers against a good team rather than the 3 games before that against the Commanders, Panthers, and Giants.

They don't value stats for QB's unless it's one of the main players (mahomes, allen, hurts, burrow). Kirk Cousins was having a fantastic year before he got hurt, he was on pace for around 4.5k yards, 35 tds and around 10 ints and if that was better than any QB in the league he still wouldnt have won it becuz he isnt one of the main QB's. Mahomes deserved his mvp award last year but none of these QB's deserve the award in 2023. Should be cmc or hill
