Shanahan does not adapt. That’s a coaching problem. Andy adapts. Kyle has a scheme when it doesn’t work he can’t change and panics. Andy has creativity. When the scheme doesn’t work he changes.

Purdy is a really good but not great QB. Shanny calls plays like he's Joe Montana. He's not. He's really good but he does need help in some ways. Bootleg this kid more and help him get into a rhythm.

Leeway is saying that you have faith he'll get things together and play better because he's never played this poorly before. Its the reverse of what people are doing for Darnold. He has a history of bad play so people are rightfully doubtful that it will continue. Mahomes has a record of success so people are doubtful that it will continue. Those are both fine
But what nick does is hypocritical. Anytime a QB not name Mahomes plays poorly, even if its a QB who has a track record of success, he calls them out on it. But with Mahomes he suddenly goes to QB wins and makes excuses

The irony of Jimmy G constantly coming up in these Brock Purdy arguments is that Jimmy was to the 49ers what Mahomes currently is to the Chiefs. Six INT in six game is not good
Wildes referenced the "Mahomes' sideline thing" and IMO, that needs to be addressed by the league rules committee. There was a big uproar about Darnold's "late slide"and the subsequent "defender fly over" in the Vikes/Lions game. The defense is handcuffed when QBs run along the sideline, especially if the defender is parallel to or chasing the QB from behind. If the defender commits to the tackle because the QB is running within a yard of the sideline and the QB steps out,THEN gets hit, it's going to be another 15 yards even though when the defender committed, the QB was in the field of play. If the defense is given somewhat of a pass because there's such a thing as a "late slide" then there needs to be a "late step out". Looked to me like the 49ers were afraid to touch him during that run for fear of a penalty. I think Mahome's knows it and he's using that to his advantage. Mahomes did the exact same thing in that playoff or Super Bowl game.
Nick has spent years trying to downplay TDs & wins, and focus solely on turnovers for Allen, then spent the last 2 years downplaying Purdy's stats AND wins, so there's no way he'll still praise Mahomes for just winning right?
Surely not, that wouldn't be very fitting of Mr. Consistency. Oh, and always saying his rankings "aren't the standings..." What now? 😂

Swap Purdy and Mahomes, and Purdy will be 6-0 and Mahomes 2-5. Yes, Mahomes is arguably one of the greatest (if not the greatest) ever, but this season Purdy has clearly played better than him.
That’s a flaw argument in this game right here proof alone just showed that because both defenses outside of a few plays were basically a wash the 49ers defense actually kept them in the game while Brock Purdy kept turning the ball over
Purdy was soooo sloppy. his inconsistency took all offensive momentum away each time the defense gave them a chance. While Mahomes takes advantage of momentum so well. KC is gonna be tough to beat.

Brock Purty's play is predicated on Mike shanahan's offense + an effective running game. That offense doesn't function nearly as well when you shut down the run. It's all about matchups. You can't isolate the quarterbacks play in a vacuum like none of that other stuff. Didn't matter somebody's being a little bit Nitpicky and there's no cause for it.
Purdy is not a great off schedule thrower unless he's outside the pocket. His limitations creep up big time when he's forced to move in the pocket side to side.
I don't dislike the guy as a player, but he's got obvious flaws like all players in the NFL. His biggest one might be his physique.
I wonder if Mahomes wife gets jealous of Nick Wright.
