I feel you think seattle is near Anchorage but that not true. The supersonic before leaving had a 40 year history in the nba. You hit on just a part of supersonic and Seahawks history. In the 80s to before they left the supersonic were in the nba playoffs quite a few times. In the 80s the sonics played magic Johnson lakers in the western conference finals plus the Seahawks played the raiders who won the superbowl in 83 in the afc championship game. In the 90s sonics were the Seahawks of now while seattle almost lost the mariners and Seahawks in succession. The sonic with Gary Payton and Shawn Kemp made the nba finals in 96s against jordan and the bulls. While they didnt win they were a team who won more than 60 games a season. When seattle was going good multiple good free agents played for seattle in the NBA, NFL and MLB but they were better at developing there players. Just because seattle sports haven't been a annual team who goes to super bowls and world series mean nothing. Since Paul Allen purchase the Seahawks, they has been to three super bowls, multiple playoffs and if not for new England, Pittsburgh, green bay, seattle would be one of most consistent team in the nfl since 2000. Heck the Seahawks has only a handful of losing record from 1999 to 2024. Heck great coaches like george karl, lou pinella, mike holmgren, pete carroll, and now Mike Macdonald came to seattle. If seattle wasnt so attractive why would HOF coaches stay and coach seattle teams or pick seattle over other franchise. The mariners been to multiple playoffs including winning a baseball record of 116 games, heck they were on the longest non playoff streak of 20 season and fans still went to there games. Seattle fans watched ken griffey jr, alex Rodriguez, randy johnson, ichiro, edgar martinez, to now Julio, kirby, Raleigh, castillo etc. When these teams didn't win the seattle fans were there. But blaming distance is really not doing homework on the teams in seattle and if you want an example of how this fan base look at the 05 super bowl after they lost, the 95 ALCS, or the 2013 Seahawks title or even the 2014 super bowl lose. Seattle fans always travels especially in football season. Or if you want recent look at the 2024 husky when they played for a national championship against Michigan. I can keep go on with franchises in seattle but when it comes to seattle, fans love their players that is drafted or signed.
