Jiu-Jitsu Guard Passes | 6 Basic but Effective Guard Passes for Gi or No Gi

  • These are some of the highest percentage passes out there for dealing with the most common situations from the guard. You can use these passes gi or no gi, against novice to advanced players and several of these are effective in striking situations.
    3 Seated Passes and 3 Standing Passes for a variety of energies you are likely to encounter.

      Yup! Lol. I got a lot of it. The video and explanation were awesome. But the application Of said guard passes might prove harder to achieve. I’m just beginning my journey with BJJ.

      @@tyhatfield7156 the one u were doun is a knee slice knees to butg of opponent while hugging the waist of opponent at same time..his was a little different variant knee or shin pin pass more thann the latter knee slice which is 1st one along with under scoop of legs pass which can land too guy im half guard of bottom guy then he can re establish his full guard or version of full..then u get to leg avoidance over top and or around one side or over to side cont
      Or north south ..when u try basic whute/blue belt pass such as knee slice scoop or whatever expect. A guy to get back to full from half guard immediately so be 1-2 steps ahead by letting him shrimp to regaim full use that sec of him doing that coumter to pass by changing tto other side of legs or chain another pass with tje 1st (fake out pass) wrestliing teaxhes importance off chaining techs with simple ones bjj for some dumb reaso goes u do this then opp.does that u do this bcuz he did this ..1+1=2 then u got to 3 bcuz he got to 3 for u. No whay im saying ..enemy is ahead of u strategy wise because if u attack 1st he does "x"to counter uu try attack 2 since 1 failed now he does 3 to set u up to be fooled
      Into 4 ..in chess the winner is te man 3 moves ahead bobby fisher said he luked to be 15 moves ahead of opponent no pattern recognized means he has to think then react and hope to gain power

    I think a lot of people could learn more from your videos than in theyr gym. Really thanks for free teaching. Being me more self defense oriented I like standing guard pass to knee on belly to ground and pound. But I will try also your other options.

      nah, the gym is where its at. you get to have him correct you in person. but i hear you though. nothing beats drilling on the mats

    I have my first BJJ tournament (NAGA) this weekend, and I’m over here watching your videos like I just got the cliff notes to defeat my opponents. Lol.
    However I am bringing world champion strength over from my life of powerlifting so if it helps I have a big strength advantage.
    I love BJJ and I’m inspired seeing young guys get black belts in alot shorter times than its historically taken ppl on average.

I was rushing to learn stuff before the tournament b/c we always train in the gi at my academy-it’s more old school, but now I can take my time really honing my technique for no gi. Truth be told, the tournament was the first time I rolled without the gi! I’m going to surf all your videos and practice everything!!! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!!! 🏟 🥋💪🏼

    Nice tips man. I do my leg drag a little different. More like a wrestling arm drag because there body spins especially when there sweaty and than catch foot to hip knee on belly.

    As always Eli. Great presentation. And some material for me to add to guard pass practice. One question though. A lot of people do that one keg takedown into guard. I hope you understand. They are holding the gi. One foot on hip and pull me down into guard. Any advice other than just stand up and do t go down to knees. Thanks again as always.

      You're welcome.They super helpful and will make my shit Jujitsi better. I run a production company in Australia. You know how your video changes colour all the time? It's a white balance issue. Dive into the camera white balance settings and pick the icon that looks like a lightbulb. Then it won't change all the time on you :)
