I lift weights 6 days a week and like to think I'm pretty strong . My 2nd day of jiu jitsu, I feel like a fish out of water...
Yeah, it humbles you when smaller people handle you . It humbles you even more when the big ones handle you with skill.
Same situation here, humbling experience. Only shows how much you have to learn and all the weak areas you have the opportunity to improve on to supplement your lifting.
@@lphieshake I stopped lifting after I started training jiujitsu. down to 3 days a week. Would rather train 6 days a week.
I found the grind of numbers and PRs to be pointless and absolutely boring
@@johnnycage2746 I think hitting PRs with lifting is exciting cuz there's obviously a direct correlation with explosive strength when it comes to lifts like sumo deads and cleans

you’re doing the lords work 🙏🏽😮💨😂
Thank you!
Man of culture 👌
Thanks, friend!
This has got to be the most helpful channel for anyone getting into Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or revising the foundational stuff. You deserve more subs, man.
I appreciate that!
subscribers, not submissions lol
Agreed!
Just found it myself. I'm 42 and have only been training BJJ for 2months and this content has helped me tremendously
Not only most helpful, also most
Entertaining! I started at twelve and Jedi is why I still keep on doing it
Great list, practicing stand and base as you get up off the floor while at home watching TV 📺 is key for muscle memory 😂
The more you practice the better you get !
Started doing jiu-jitsu when the quarantine hit and man these videos have been so helpful. You'd be surprised how few channels there are out there that focus this much on the fundamentals. Appreciate these vids, big time man. Sincerely, a bjj noob
Glad to hear they’ve helped you out!
Which ones did help
@@nameerahamed5924 all of them
Most videos are created by “dojo masters” who don’t want to leak too much of what they teach in class in their videos.
Hey man, thank you so much for all this information, I just finished my 4th BJJ class tonight and have been wondering what I should be working on outside of class so thank you so much, you’re content is truly helping me
I love this video. I am a starting white belt and because of my business and family obligations, have to miss a couple weeks. These drills will allow me to keep "practicing" while getting better at those basics! Thank you!
Thanks so much Jedi. Being 20 years since I last tried BJJ and having just got back into it, these drills seems like the prefect way to make it fee natural again. Awesome video!
Thank you for creating this channel, I am a martial artist of over 30 years, butI finally decided to go down the BJJ path, as a 50 year old I am not going to lie I was a bit apprehensive about this but couldn't resist the pull after watching my teenage son training and rolling. I love the tips you provide as well as other mental aspects of learning this beautiful art. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I love your humility, sense of humor and technicality. I have let go of my ego and enjoy learning from getting smashed and tapping.
Finally rolled today after months. Everything is alright with the world!
Hell yeah
My first time back in 14 months yesterday! Felt so good to roll around.
You *lucky ducky*
Jedi thank you for your time and dedication to these videos. Between you, Bernardo Faria and John Danaher videos there is an absolute wealth of knowledge. Thank you!
Absolute gold. The video is to the point as well. No intros or jokes.
Thank you! I’m really grateful for these at-home drills. I’m new to bjj and martial arts in general, so I need all the solo practice I can get between classes.
hello, i am a young bjj fighter who was put in at a young age and trained for 9 years. I've been out of the gym for a few years and i still understand so many foundational things but your channel has been so helpful in regaining my knowledge.
40 year old semi broken ex athlete getting into jits. Looking to compete around my 41st birthday. Thank you for these videos. They’re awesome.
Good luck sir
42 now, How was It?
How's it going?
@@vipe650r I broke some ribs and stopped training. Now I’m 42 and nothing on my body works. I’ll get back at it tomorrow.
Man, I'm sorry to hear that. I of course have no idea about the history of your injuries or difficulties, so I can't speak intelligently to that. For my part, I've been super grateful coming across resources like Knees Over Toes Guy and Tom Morrison as far as mobility and longevity, and even basic joint rehab. Either way, God's blessings and health on your recovery and return to training.@@frogger2513
I’m starting jiu jitsu next week and I have been binging all of your videos. Thank you for some of the most informative and interesting content in the jiu jitsu realm of UA-cam.
Solid demonstration! I love your positive attitude! Thank you!
This guy is so efficient at teaching newbies like myself
Simple solo drills to get started, love it. Thank you
Very helpful, especially when training at home with your kids during lockdown
Dude thank you. This is so helpful its unreal. I have just started at the Roger Gracie Academy, London and am a #1 stripe White Belt.
Coming from a fairly successful life long Boxing/Kickboxing back ground with plenty of silver ware, I now find myself in a combat sport that I don't know my ass from my elbow and am continually gasing out, as I am still in striking mode and on top of that, have no BJJ repertoire to go to either.
These drill are great and your other videos, 5 Moves for White Belts is also super helpful.
Thanks a lot.
hey Jedi i took a year off BJJ, back here reviewing warm ups i can do at home before i jump back into the acedemy. Thanks again for these great videos.
I do BJJ for about 20 years and I really think yours videos are very useful, thanks a lot for these great stuffs!!
Thanks 🙏🏽
wee! coming back from an injury, technical lift drills will definitely come in handy! appreciate the detail + simplicity of the content!
Thank you so much, Jedi! These exercises help out a lot! Keep up the good work.
Thank You. I’m 2 months in on my journey in BJJ and your videos are informative and motivating. Keep it up.
Keep it up brotha! Now you gotta show me how to grow a beard lol
you're 3 years in now wohooo. Just had my second session osu osu osu osssss
I'm 2 weeks in classes and I'm so glad I used to breakdance in highschool. Alot of these movements feel natural for me. I have so much more to learn. I'm looking forward to using my breakdance background to help speed up some learning.
I have a decent grip, and good strength atleast that's what I have been told by those i did Jiu-jitsu training with on my first day.. (My first day was two days ago). But my IQ on the ground and my grappling is low and really bad. I have just started doing Jiu-jitsu, do you have any tips to how I could improve?
Congrats on starting your BJJ journey! That is awesome. I had a friend with a background in break dance and it really did help with his movement on the mat.
It’s funny cause a lot of this looks like breakdancing as does capoeira and these warmup drills. Historically, this all checks out lol.
@@traceygresham6845 Indeed! I just got serious into BJJ, but I have 20 years in Capoeira and I’m the rank of Professor. These movements feel very natural to me as well. The technical stand up is basically one of the many variations of “negativa” in Capoeira, so it came very easily.
Thanks for the at home workouts Coach Jedi.. much appreciated
Every single video on this channel is fire . Super helpful.
Thank you for these!! Want to improve and these are helpful. I know getting the fundamentals down are going to help me the most as a new white belt (less than 2 months).
just subbed, loved how concise and detailed, even with the arrow graphics added, loved it
Hey man. Keep making more videos. I started off watching you on YT and now have watched almost thousands of other dudes doing BJJ. You have great fundamentals and awesome tactical experience. I don't know who or what style you are learning but keep making the fundamentals and strategy videos. Oh and keep on keeping on with the comedy. Very nice editing.
I'm adding this to my routine. Thanks a lot Jedi!
Thank you very much man you don t know how much you helping me with those videos!!!
The best routine I found so far, great job
Thanks for these. It's hard for me to find things to do at home on my own. So I can definitely get these happening when I'm not training :)
Amazingly useful! Thank you for the video it's awesome. Been away from bjj for years, getting back into it after all this Covid stuff so this will help tremendously
First video that I downloaded of UA-cam. Appreciate you Jedi
Pure gold!!!! Thank you
Just started and wanted to practice at home this is just what I needed. Bless
Thank you for this !! I recently started Jiu and struggled a lot with these, but your video really really helped me!!
I wasn't sure what I was going to find when i clicked on this but I have to admit these were all pretty solid. Reminds me of 30 years ago and my first Judo class. They opened by saying "Today we're going to learn how to fall down" I laughed but then learned I didn't know how to fall down "correctly"
These also might be good drills/warm up for us guys over 40 years old.
Bro your a beast . Much wisdom
Thanks for showing the rolls starting from the floor.
I came back to JuJitsu after 21 years of doing absolutely no JuJitsu. I need to relearn how to move my body and not use to much energy. But it is easier for me to digest all the information in the class in real time. At the time we didn’t have all these youtube videos. It helps me to sleep and teach the move to my body. Thank you for your channel it helps a lot
Just started jiu-jitsu and we are doing these exercises every training session. Looks very helpful!
The force is strong with you.
Because of work I always miss the warm ups that have a lot of the same and similar moves, this gives me a nice starting point to practice at home
Awesome thx! Almost a year in and use many of these movements… Nice to have them laid out this way…
Props to you! This one of the most useful videos I've seen for White Belts. THANKS!
Glad to hear that!
A few minutes doing the first and second and almost got my dinner back. Tomorrow I'll try again.
Thank you man!
I've been in jits so long but still struggle to learn it, this video might help my game plan.
I have my fourth class tomorrow and as someone who loves to train and has been their entire life. Your channel is amazing. I get to learn so much from your channel I wish you only understood. Thanks. Subscriber and like all your videos 👍🤝
Thank you for making and posting this video.
Great video, thanks! Really clear explanations.
THANK YOU!!!!! ❤ This is a great video!
I trained in various martial arts and my first lesson was very alien to me. I appreciate this art.
Thee best guide!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!
Hi Jedi, I've been around some amazing people like Olympic judo coaches from the USA and Poland as well as Olympic competitors and some world champion caliber level Jiu Jitsu competitors. I love your humility when you go against good players, I like your humor, your break down of drills and moves. I'm new to your channel but I think it's super. Keep up the good work, it's helpful to everyone at all levels. I enjoy learning from you, thank you. I just subscribed.
Thanks Ricky! I try to be as realistic as possible so that means a lot to me.
Stay strong 💪🏽

This is week 3 for me and I see people do this while we warmup and stretch..now I understand..thank you
Sounds like you’re on a good path!
Thanks man. Would love if you did another consisting of additional drills that were missing in this video.
So happy I came across your channel!!! I just started JJ
Awesome! I'm just starting out, and these look great. Thank you so much.
I love these drill videos! They're so helpful. I just wish I didn't have to scroll so much to find them. Could you make a playlist of just these drill videos that you do? They are so helpful and would make finding them so much easier. Keep up the amazing work!
Thanks Ryan!
Thank you Jedi, this helps me a lot to train during lockdown here. Best regards
Thanks Mark
Lolol!!! The yoga mat sound effects hahaha love it
Best part of the video 😂
thank for these excercises! I couldn't be at class because of some freak happenings so I was worried I wouldn't be able to catch up so I'll do this until next class.
This channel is about to be massive, A+ editing
This is great, needed some drills to do while at the cabin or if I can't make class because of work
Really appreciate it it’ll definitely help condition me for when I start ju-jitsu
Best BJJ channel out there during months of lockdown.. Order your mat, a BJJ dummy and hit this channel on your big screen.. Let's roll..
Hey Jedi! I have been preparing for a while for this pretty big tournament in July, and i dont have a lot of XP with tournament preparing, so I recently stopped focusing so much on physical conditioning, but I was hurting my training partners. So instead I tried drilling at home with GI and no gi solo drills. This video is the reason I got promoted today! My movements are more fluid than ever, so thanks a ton🙏🙏😌. Osu🥋
GOOD LUCK!! And congrats on the promotion
Hi Jedi thanks for your video!
great video and explanation , thanks!
Honestly, pretty solid video.. looking up things for the kids class and stumbled on this and your channel
These drills really helped me gain a lot of confidence in jiu jutsu.
Awesome channel helping me so much for a new guy like me
Thanks for this I'm going to start drilling these 🙏
This is great. Thanks.
I’ve been interested in starting Jiu Jitsu for years and am now pregnant with our sixth child, so I can’t start. This is so great to have as a starting point at home, so after babe is born I can be better prepared for beginning a class. Also, looks like they’d be perfect for helping heal diastasis recti
Very cool! Our youngest is now 6, we all homeschool and are just starting to get into it it's very exciting!
Yesss!!! 🙌🏾 ❤️
Thank You , Sir
Sick video thanks man
Great tips, thank you 🙏
