I’m new to sewing now. I see by your comment that you were new 2 years ago. I to am using UA-cam as my learning guide. I’m wondering if now after 2 years, are you still sewing? I seem to learn so much every day that I wonder where to begin. Or what to do next. Did you feel overwhelmed at first too? I’m so excited every day. And thankful that I have a good basic Singer machine to learn on. And to easily repair lol! Anyway I’m just wondering how others feel as new sewists after they have been at it for a while.
I completely agree with the comment that your video is very easy to understand and to follow and learn from. Your delivery in plain language is like you’re having a conversation with a friend. I to am new to sewing and have been using UA-cam as my guide for learning. Many other tutorials have been difficult to follow and I have had to look up what they were talking about as I was watching. I bought a set of bias tape makers about 2yrs now and i haven't really actually used it yet, hopefully after watching your video AGAIN a couple of times i can try and see to make my bias tape 😊❤❤
Thank you for this very informative tutorial. Explanation of sizes of biased tape that each piece makes and how much fabric you need for each one, and how to make it into double fold bias tape was phenomenal.
Thank you so much! I bought a set of bias tape makers but didn't know the strip size to cut. I also didn't know what the numbers on the package meant. I didn't think to look at the back of them to see that it was for mm. Your video was exactly what I needed!
Best video on Bias tape makers 👍🏼You answered and demonstrated all my questions, especially the finished size of each tool.. Thank you ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Just watched your video and I have to agree with another commenter, great job in actually telling how wide the fabric needs to be and starching the fabric. I was ready to go back to the old way. Thanks so much.
SUCH a helpful tutorial, tysm! Appreciate you addressing the whole bias cut part being optional, sounds like being cut along the grain suits straight hem purposes just fine. I've watched a few of these now and yours was by far the most helpful to me. :)
Thank you. Received 5 bias makers in Aug. And no instructions. $17. Inc. Shipping from wish. Already had clips and sewing foot. I thought you sewed and made tape at same time. Thought i had a great idea of making tape by feeding fabric and ironing. Worked but felt it should be better. Found your video and Voila! Easy as can be. All you tips made it neater and quick. This is such an amazing, simple tool. I don't have exactly the one shown but was thrilled to make SOGrain strips to cover QAYG strips - they are perfect and so cute. It even folded well where I had to make a seam with a bit of repressing. No finger burning at all. This is so easy and fun to use I am going to invent new reasons to make strips. .
I have ordered a set, thought i would do some research on how to use them (they arrive tomorrow) came across your video and it explains how to use it so well, i was a little confused on how much to cut but thankfully you have explained it 🙂
Just received a bias tape maker today and had no clue how to use it. How wonderful to see your video. Thank you so much for the clear and concise directions.
@@rsislandcrafts If you don't mind the bulk, use the Quilt in a Day method of placing the raw edge of folded fabric (double width required then folded lengthwise to correct size) 1/4" to the RIGHT of the drawn line. Stitch down on machine with 1/4" seam. Press stem towards the right to cover and then stitch in place by hand. Machine stitching is completely covered, hand stitching time is cut in half and the stem sits nicely above the fabric with a little 3D texture.

Absolutely brilliant! I usually buy ready made bias binding or make it by hand but I want to bind all the seams in a coat I’m making and need over 20 metres. So I bought the same kit. The tips for using starch and a palm iron are genius as I’m using rather slippery lining fabric to make the binding. You’ve just saved me a lot of work. Thank you so much.
Thank you, thank you! I watched two other videos before yours but they didn't have any tips and it all went so easy for them that I didn't learn anything. I need the small sized for barbie doll clothes. I also figured out a tip for sewing the narrow pieces closed (like for barbie clothes straps). Lay an end of the folded tape over a leader scrap to start sewing without getting the narrow tape sucked into the machine! I'm subscribing now.
Thank you! I couldn't quit get mine to come out right and your tips really helped. I also appreciated the explanation about the measurements for each tool.
