I have watched a few of your videos now. We must be sewing best friends and not know it. Our styles and techniques are the same.
I have been using these bias tape makers for more years than I can remember. Love them. I often use spray starch on the strips and press before running through the folder.
I saw someone use the folder upside down in a video, it kept the folded edges in place until the iron could press them down. Interesting approach. I might give that a go next time.

I made my first batch of bias tape today, and followed your directions exactly. Everything was successful. I didn’t cut on the bias because I didn’t need to use the tape for something circular. If you ever have any extra time, could you please do a video on how to sew on bias tape, Ihave trouble when it comes to 90 degree edges and whenI come to the end of the bottom of a sleeve for example. How do you end the sewing of the bias tape so that it doesn’t look bulky and doesn’t look like I don’t know what I’m doing!!! (Which I don’t!). Thanks. Pat Berne

Thank you for the great details at a nice slow speed so I can understand what I was doing wrong! It's all in the 'notches' and where the 'notches' are at. So many good videos are out there that want it to sound so simple that they go through the steps so fast without slowing down for the details. You are a great teacher!

I’ve used these before and I misplaced mine. I ordered a set from Amazon and really enjoy making single and double fold bias tape. Piping too. Another thing I love is hand binding quilts. I could do it all day long and have. LOL. I sit in my recliner, full spectrum light, magnifiers, an audio book and stitch, stitch and stitch.
Binding is my favorite parts of making a quilt. ❤️

You inspired me purchase a set and the 2” Single Fold tool. I cut the fabric 4” wide and use it to bind my queen size quilts! I also use ribbon in them.

Thank you so much for explaining every single step of bias tape making! I never took the time to understand *where* you cut the fabric (always bought tape..) & no one has explained it as clearly as you❣️ It’s quite simple, but if you’ve never done it, a little intimidating. My only question is, these cheaper tape makers are in metric measurements, isn’t that going to throw off the width of the fabric strips if measured in standard l, like 1/4”, 1/2”…measurements?

You are an excellent teacher and made it so easy to follow. The instructions on your bias makers say to stick a pin at the end of the ironing board through the fabric and run the fabric through the bias maker while ironing. This goes a lot quicker. Poster board is another way of wrapping the bias around. I always see when bias is folded that one side is wider than the other for sewing. Is that correct?
Would like to know why and how to sew the binding around the item so it catches on the other side.

in uk, they do not sell in half yards, they use metric system and by the metre.

Hi Jan, i want to use homemade bias binding on two pieces of Prime d-c- floor rubber sheeting, but i find it hard to sew, it is difficult to put through the sewing machine, i am afraid of breaking my machine. I was following a video here on you tube but she did not give the settings of the machine, she made it look so easy, but its not, can you help, what sort of settings and needle should i use to sew a rubber mat.

Thanks alot I just bought some bias tape I thought I was buying invisible bia tape, but I bought double side bias tape which & is seems like it wouldn't go with the fabric on the garment. What's that tool you used while making the bias tape..?? Great tutorial..!! Learned alot.

Do you need to prewash quilting cotton that you're going to make bias tape from?
I usually don’t. Because most projects I’m sewing haven’t been pre washed either. So I’d it shrinks they’ll shrink a little together
I sew together a couple of pieces then I can match up the other end to continue. Help

when i want to apply bias tape to something, i hate sewing it all together.
I found a 2" bias tape maker on ebay, and i have an electric one from simplicity.
