all players can use bite attack,it just the skill is weak and no one like to use due to simple skill.maple able to kill poison dragon with due to her poiaon immune and high defense,nothing hurt her,so she bite it till death within a certain time.

In case people wanted to know I'll list out the skills/rewards she got and the requirements for getting them.
Skills:
1.) Absolute Defense or Total Defense: This skill permanently doubles your [VIT] (defense) but also makes it so that you have to spend three times as many points to raise [STR], [INT], and [AGI]. As Maple doesn't intend to ever put points into any stat but [VIT] this isn't a drawback at all. To get this skill you must be continually attacked for one hour without taking or dealing any damage. Maple literally just stood still for an hour while Mr. Bunny attacked her, because it was fun for her.
2.) Poison Resistance: Gives you various levels of poison resistance. Only the requirements for Poison Resistance: Medium were given. The requirement for that is to "receive strong poison" 40 times.
3.) Giant Killing: When fighting opponent with four stats, other than HP and MP, that are higher than yours, double all your stats other than HP and MP. The five stats other than HP and MP are [VIT], [STR], [DEX], [AGI], and [INT]. As Maple doesn't put points into anything but [VIT], this is always active. To obtain this skill you must kill an enemy who has 4 stats, other than HP and MP, that are double yours on your own.
4.) Meditation: Allows you to recover HP at a rate of 1% of your maximum every 10 seconds. This effect lasts 10 minutes and does not cost any MP but you cannot attack while using it. To get this skill you must meditate and not lose concentration while in all sorts of pain (ie. being attacked) for 3 hours. In the anime she just slept but apparently in the light novel she closed her eyes and tried to see if she could sense her enemies. She could not.
5.) Provoke: Draw monster's attention. To obtain this skill you must have the attention of 10 monsters at the same time.
6.) Shield Attack: an attack using a shield, the strength of the attack improves with higher strength and it has a weak knock back effect. To obtain this skill you must defeat 15 monsters by attacking them with a shield.
7.) Poison Dragon Eater or Hydra Eater: You gain the ability to use the powers of the Poison Dragon, the ability to cast poison magic (which costs MP), and immunity to poison and paralysis. To obtain this skill you must defeat the Poison Dragon by draining its HP while being immune to poison. Apparently this game has a special mechanic where you can gain special abilities by defeating a monster with an attack that drains HP, and eating an enemy counts as an HP draining attack.
Equipment:
[Unique Series]
[Mirror of the Dark Night]: [VIT +20], [Destruction Growth], one empty skill slot
[Black Rose Armor]: [VIT +25], [Destruction Growth], one empty skill slot
[New Moon]: [VIT +15], [Destruction Growth], one empty skill slot
[Destruction Growth]: When this equipment is destroyed it instantly repairs itself and becomes stronger.
Skill slots allow you to infuse the equipment with a skill, you lose the skill and can never reacquire it. In exchange you can use the skill with no MP cost 5 times a day, further uses beyond 5 require MP as normal. You get a new slot every 15 levels.
[Unique Series]: A unique set of equipment. To obtain it you must a.) defeat the boss and clear a dungeon solo, b.) not have ever entered the dungeon before this, and c.) be the first person to achieve both a.) and b.). So you have to be the first person to ever solo the dungeon on their first try. Each dungeon has its own [Unique Series]. You cannot trade this equipment to another player.
One thing to keep in mind is that this is a new game with developers who really seem to like including secret rewards.

@@Coolkid4205: Did it ever mention the requirements for Total Defense? I figured it required you to take about 3500 hits. This is because the bunny attacked her almost every second for an hour. Accounting for the times the bunny dashed around in a circle, she easily took that many hits because it only took a second to attack normally, and there are 3600 seconds in one hour. Normally, such a requirement requires A LOT of playing time. Players would normally die after taking 10 hits or so at their level, maybe twenty. Keep in mind, this is from monsters AT THEIR LEVEL. By the time the count started really climbing, either they had MANY deaths under their belt, or they were starting to get a hang of combat to where they stopped being hit as much. All considered, this is a skill that wouldn't be gotten very much.
The reason Maple gets the special armor is because she was the first person to beat the Poison Dragon solo on their first attempt ever facing it. Meaning that if you've ever faced the Poison Dragon, even in a group, that player would be ineligible for the reward. As you saw, the armor's special ability is that it auto-repairs when it gets destroyed and gets better whenever that happens.
What the anime doesn't tell that she actually spent 3 hour building up poison immunity against the hydra healing with potions and her meditation skill.

Maple is kind of an airhead that is just stumbling her way into exploit after exploit that the developers never considered were possible.
Risa is trying to catch up to her studies before her mother will let her play the game and join Maple. Risa is a pro-gamer and will use her skills to catch up with Maple.

In the manga she is more intelligent and looks up different skills she can get her hands on to make herself stronger and she goes out of her way to explore the world hence why she finds rare skills

Because no one would normally ever put all their status points into a single state, Maple basically won on a huge gamble that led her to an unintentional sort of cheat code, where eventually her defense became so jacked that it almost operated like a passive form of counterattack.

Hey @YaBoyRockLee yeah you don't need to worry or think too much for this series it's really laid back the whole way through. Oh and Maple is just a try everything once type of person. So for example she'll think "This big monster ate me I wonder can I eat it." If it works out then she learned something new if it doesn't she'll try something else.

What anime did miss to add but good to know:
1. that boss fight was 7H (not so suprise, she did fight with a lvl1 bunny for 1 hour :D )
2. there is a special reward for the 1st kill: the set (what isn't so rare, you can see lot of others with sets) and there is a special reward for only using Damage Over Time: unique skill
Eating the boss count as DOT, the devs didn't think any going to eat a boss because that take for really long time while you need to stay alive (basicle only possible for Maple).
The chat in those texts is super fast, so you'd have to pause a lot to read it, but super funny how the people in game are ALL talking about her and rooting for her.
Maple doesn’t have common sense in Video Games but after rewatching this series multiple times I just realize what Admin made it possible for a noob like Maple to get these skills so easily

She got the gear because she was the first person to solo the dungeon.
On her first try. The first try thing was important too.
My theory is that it’s a flaw with the game system, biting has to do some damage so players can eat food items or food made from monsters. So even if it does barely any damage it has to be able to inflict a small amount of damage regardless of a monster’s defence stat.
Got to remember, a shield may be for defense, but it can be used as weapon too.

The anime doesn't explain it very well but time is a lot slower in the game then the real world. So you can literally spend many in-game days in the game but it would only be about a couple hours or so in the real world, and this time can be adjusted by the developers of the game.

I think it gets explained later in the anime, but basically 2 hours of real life time is roughly around 1 day of in game time.
She may be just putting all her skill points into defense, but leveling up itself increases all stats.
Late but leveling gives you points for increasing your stats, but it does not naturally increase stats, which is why she has 0 in all stats except HP (40, up to 1,300+ with items and equipment), MP (32, more with items and equipment), and Defense (way too high to even attempt to count)

Love this show! Know that the game is unbalanced, or at least the designers didn't foresee someone like Maple gaming its systems. Maple just cheeses everything and stumbles into rare encounters/rewards because her mentality is SO different from meta gamers. Also, it's a wholesome/fun trip. Don't expect some dark twist. Just laugh at the hijinks and smile at the cute.
This anime was a surprising joy for me when I found it. Looking forward to watching your opinions

This is what happens when you don't test your game at all.
If I remember correctly they actually did. There's was one guy who tried to play it Maple way. But after he realized he can only kill nothing but bunnies he discarded the idea and made a different character. Therefore "fighting against a monster for an hour without getting damage" was the intended game mechanics". Nobody realized there's might be more to it, though.
@@Ai-Kyuu yeah at max def, only the bunny can't hurt you, but the passive skill made a couple other mobs out of range, and poison dmg does take def into account, and it was said that they died easy to poison. Maple def let her live long enough for immunity

I adore this anime. I gotta say though, Rock was really, really off the facts at the end. Him and D Nasty are so on top of things these days. Maple(.........Bofuri lolz) is lucky and unknown. That was the charm of the first few episodes. Rita is supposed to be the standard. Lololololz. I look forward to the rest of this reaction.

Bofuri is a show one would watch after finishing a more serious anime. It's supposed to be funny and cute. An anime about a complete mmorpg noob that makes her entrance into a newly released game and managing to break and exploit every mechanic along the way (accidentally, of course.)
also if im guessing right, much like slime isekai, and one called infinite dendrogram, i think the game does have at least SOME level of 'generation based on action' in which it can come up with new abilities and maybe even quests (idk for certain) based on things you do. Im guessing eating monsters may be a non specific class ability that all can use, but its not a like "advertised" thing you can do. Plus... gals lucky as fuck, gets a unique equipment set probably as the first person to kill the boss without using a weapon.. or something.. idk thats a guess xD
You're close. She got the unique equipment for being the first person to beat that boss solo on her first try. Each boss has a unique armor set that you can get if a.) you beat the boss solo, b.) you hadn't ever fought it before, and c.) you are the first person to achieve both a.) and b.). This game is pretty new and I'm pretty sure the unique armor requirements and rewards were a secret so I think she was the first person to get one.

Me: ... I mean, given the title of the series, I wouldn't exactly count on her putting a lot of points into other stats. If you started watching Hinomaru Sumo, I'm pretty sure you'd go into it expecting to see a main character who's into sumo wrestling, rather than boxing or fencing.
ha ha ha ha...lol...because it's just sooo unbelievable..it goes against more core logic which is to general spread the skills ha.
The Rising of the Loli Shield Hero
This anime has its lighthearted cuteness and its somewhat 'breath of fresh air concept' (its a noob who only uses a shield) going for it...
And that's all, unfortunately. I have to say, I've been watching more and more anime recently and I find myself getting disappointed so easily because of the fact that they are really not that good. I'm not trying to dis anyone who enjoys it for it's reasons I stated above or those in this video, but I really just want to rant about why I believe it's not a good show.
The first episode reminded me quite easily of SAO; I can't help but feel there's not much originality in this because it just feels like it's copying SAO. Not a huge deal, as its still a fun concept, but just putting that out there~
Other than that though, the main issue I have is simply how broken/overlooked the mechanics are, as well as how convenient everything is for the main party. I have a problem with this because I like games, and if a game like this were to be released, none of this would happen; she wouldn't be revered as some god because literally everyone would have access to these broken mechanics, and everyone would just be broken. The enemies in the game, even in the first episode when she was starting out, all die in one hit, despite the fact that greatshielders are very weak (this was literally stated in the episode) So enemies are weak beyond believe. What about bosses? They aren't safe either. Other than that snowbird thing (which is still a stretch as that fight still had its problems) The bosses are pushovers. The main character, who is a total noob at video games, was able to defeat it solo just by raising her poison resistance, and she didn't even have a weapon. The kraken creature that comes later dies in like three seconds after getting poisoned. It's just so unrealistic that it makes me mad.
More on the mechanics are skills; skills are obtained so easily in this game, so much so that if it were real, it'd be easier than Kirbys Epic yarn. Not to mention obtaining skills and the criteria for them is either pretty standard or rather random. It makes me believe that the developers of the series never played a game in their life.
Now, the convenient things that take in the series is as bad- if not worse- than what I stated above. The main character, upon beating the first boss (not to mention she was the very first one to do it despite starting later than other gamers and shes a noob) gets a bunch of loot that benefits her exact playstyle, despite the fact that such a playstyle was never even concieved by the devs. She got armor and a special shield, along with a dagger that is just completely broken because of what it does; being able to seemingly infinitely spawn the first boss to just attack everything, plus the paraysis thing. What's more, when the characters are waiting for a skill to improve, such as the main characters poison resistance, it always conveniently happens right when they needs it, so it's on a level of luckiness that is just entirely unrealistic.
There are a bunch of smaller other quips I could probably make about this show, but I think i've made my point. Again, if you like the show, good for you, I'm glad someone enjoys it. I just have to say that because of everything I've stated above, I don't like it very much as a gamer. I wish I did, as it's a fun concept and an otherwise cutesy show.
I really like this anime it has a little action in it and it's not too depressing it's a really happy-go-lucky anime the only real problem I have is with the English dubbed they took out one of Maples best jokes

I love how the writers went away from the typical stereotypes by not only making the mc in a "semi isekai? maybe" a female, but also shy away from the harem aspect only to fall right back in by making the mc an overpowered and clueless loli.
good thing about bofuri for new audiences is you only need 2 episodes to know whether you'll love it or not.

She's not special... and neither is she particularly smart in regards to the game.
The gamedevs aren't exactly top tier and so there are quite a few exploits in the game which they constantly try to work out. With no other person (gamer or developer) ever getting the idea to put literally every single stat-point into defense, nobody else has discovered the particular exploits Maple did so far.
Only she knows so little about games that she actually thinks that's all part of the intended gameplay rather than bugs and exploits. ^^
