More gamers should try to be like Paine. He suffer what might been his first lost, but took it with a smile, didn't blame Mapple. Sure he was upset, which was OK, but took it to heart. More need to be like that.

I have an example for that skill;
"Merge" skill
-you will be able to mix up to two skills
as long as you have the mp for both of those skills.
(ex.) water skill and fire skills merged can turn into steam,smoke screen,etc.

- yes. The mechanic in the game that gave her her exclusive equipment and many of the skills is this:
"A player is awarded special unique rewards if they beat a boss solo on their first encounter." - that is how Kuromu, Iz and Sally got their armor set as well and the reason why so many people in the game look so basic in comparison. Because only legendary unique equipment have special effects and designs like this.
The other part is her literally eating the bosses. There is a mechanic that if you beat a boss by only using a life drain magic, you get their skills. It's incredibly rare and specific - and noone among devs realized that eating is considered a life drain effect or took it as relevant because you would have to be ridiculously strong to survive that - or maxxed out in defense. It has minuscule damage - which is why her fight with the Hydra took cca 7 hours in the light novel - and similarly with the demon.
Add: also, Kuromu (and many other) did try minmaxing like Maple. By his own words "I got owned immediatelly" - because at level 1, only the bunny is weak enough to not go through the 128 defense even a little bit and it requires for you to be under attack for an hour and not get any damage to get total defense.
And for giant slayer you have to beat a monster that has more than double your stats in at least four categories (i think).
With all zeroes - basically everyone Is a Giant to Maple.
The Manga actually expands a lot on the specifics of the Skills Maple gains from someone doing a comparison video on the Anime and Manga. It shows that Maple eating isn't actually something unlabeled, it is an actual Skill called HP Drain. Another is that the Devs, themselves never reveal any of the Buffs or Nerfs the change and you can only find out if you do get Buffed or Nerfed in a Skill is if you have that Specific Skill that was Changed.
Apparently 99% of the players are just straight garbage, it looks like maple’s the only one doing quest and exploration while the others are just farming monsters. Maple has way more skills than any other players, and in this game, skills > level which is broken. Even Payne who’s level is twice more than Maple, only has like 5 skills and magic.
Best part is the ending. After all that goes on, how they still manage to wrap it up in a way befitting the Hydra/blimp/devourer/angel/demon/god/gaming rookie known as Maple.
The fact that this anime left you all with the biggest smiles on your faces at the end says it all I think. Glad you enjoyed it so much.

So in the novel, Maple is actually able to summon swords with [Machine God] and instead of firing beams to Misery and Marx, she actually stabbed the both of them with dozens of swords.
Also in the last episode, Maple actually spent about half a day by herself attacking other guilds before getting May and Yui to attack the Flame Emperors. During Maple's solo run, she would just walk towards a guild and the players there would do everything in their power to hurt her only for their attacks to bounce off.
Mii used a self destruct move which technically should kill Maple but you must also remember that she had that [Resist Explosion] skill back in episode 2 after she ate the Ladybug monster so only half the damage went to her and since her defense is so high the damage is only probably 1.
When the Holy Swords guild attack Maple Tree, they actually took 50 other players with them with Frederica leading them to attack from the rear with Payne, Drag, and Dread on the front lines.
After Maple transformed, she actually not only ate Payne and Drag, but also half of the other guild members Payne bought.
It was actually the twins who killed Frederica by throwing cannon balls at her while she forgot about their ridiculous strength.
When Maple Tree took all those orbs, Maple decided to sleep in the back while still using [Atrocity] so when the other guilds attacked to get their orbs back Maple got angry and slaughtered them all for waking her up.
After that, they decided to let the other guilds fight outside their base and let the winner take the orbs to have a free-for-all when the other guilds resurrected but Flame Emperors took the orbs instead. Maple Tree decided to use that opportunity to destroy the other guilds and Holy Swords also used that opportunity to strike at Maple only to realize later that she is OP.
It was described that the battle that took place could be said a battle of the gods with the fodders in the middle of it.

@@topx_ak They got their orbs back and got the points. Holy sword just attacked them once and after that helped Mapole Tree with their plan, because that helped them too. (without speaking to each other)
Besides after this event, only 1 Player in the whole game wants to fight Maple and that is Paine. No one else wants to fight her, to the point they would just surrender and give up.
Another point that is impressive is btw that Sally is half of Paine's level too and managed to dodge his attacks, even if she couldnt stop him, simply because his stats where so much higher than hers. AKA if Sally would be the same level as Paine, Paine would be in trouble.
After this event you could even say the 4 strongest players in the game: Maple, Paine, Mii and Sally ... and 2 of them are much lower level than the other 2.
Payne : I am the best player in the game.
Maple : why is my food talking?
Imagine if Maple got a skill from "eating" Payne (or any players).

Gotta remember, Maple is HALF the LVL of Pain. Maple: 30 or so, Pain Lvl 60.
Also when Pain attacked Maple, he was Buffed Up to do more damage.

payne used a skill that can ignore some defence (i.e) [armour break]
Nearly all of Paine skill have piercing or similar effects. He is Maples natural enemy .... if she is weak and used all her skills already.

@@SymmbolZS its because the full dmg characters like Mii cant do anything to her and Pain and his abilities do dmg. Which wouldnt be possible without piercing effect or something similar. There is still a chance for mis-translation, but it is otherwise a mistake on the authors side.

which negates some armour.
I do remember the dev's adding skills to counter tanks and other specialized classes like armour piercing when they nerfed maple's[devour] skill, when they realized she was a bit to unbalance.
which is understandable because the game is fairly new.
Seriously the most genuine fun I've had watching anime when this came out. Not everything needs to be bogged down by drama. Great animation, loveable characters, just perfect. Cannot wait for s2. I really hope the novels get an official translation cause I would buy that shit in a second.

The reason maple survived mii's self destruct is 1 her vit stat is insane and she has partial explosion resistance cause she ate the exploding bugs at one point during her solo run before sally joined her

3 katanas, the reason that maple almost died, is not to shown in the anime, (info that i saw in other comments about this ep) the skill that frederica (girl in payne team) used in the anime said "multi teleport" but the true power was "multiple skill transfer" making the "berseker" + "god speed" stack on payne's attack and speed

You see, Frederica has the ability to take Drag's and Dread's personal buff skills and apply them to Payne. That's what happened when she used Multi-Teleport and Payne started glowing and appeared in front of Maple suddenly. Also, thanks to comments from other UA-camrs' reactions to this series, I learned that while Machine God doesn't have the once a day limit that Atrocity has, it still has a limit in its own way: it takes the user's armor and breaks it down, transforming it into the Machine God mech suit. So basically, you lose whatever gear you were wearing, sacrificing it in exchange for unmatched firepower, plus, the better the gear you use, the more powerful your Machine God suit will be. For most people, this would be a disadvantage because their armor and gear would be left destroyed afterwards, thus making them disinclined to use their best gear for it, but since Maple's gear actually regenerates and becomes stronger upon its destruction, that actually means that every time she uses Machine God, her armor becomes even stronger than before, and the stronger her armor when she activates Machine God, the more powerful Machine God is. So it is basically an endless cycle, meaning that her armor and Machine God skill will both infinitely become more powerful every time she uses Machine God. Isn't that crazy!?!?

Shadow Clone makes illusory copies of Maple, while Phantom World makes those illusions real. Basically, Sally and Kanade combined Skills to clone Maple, making it so that there could be seven of her running around in her Atrocity form.
Dude, Maple can create her own laser show with Phantom World. We got a Mecha Godzilla with poison, a turtle with Kamehameha, and so many others that equates to those in the Tomb of Nazerick. Ains has some serious competition.

Maple broke 5 digit vit is because of she's spamming her hydra to destroy her armor and activating machine god that actually has a specified condition to activated which is destroying equipment, the stronger the equipment the stronger god machine become. This 2 things happen right before the last event happen when she was left alone to prepare for the last event (in anime there's no explanation about this, only in WN or LN that they explain what Maple did for her prep)

Maple is a monster. There is no other answer. She is the world ending boss in terms of power. I look at Maple and then I think of Shield Hero, and I left wondering for a crossover idea (not happening, but) what if Maple was summon instead with her skills from the game. I wonder what the expression will be of Maple owning everyone (and acting like it was normal), like what the other heroes would think about her crazy level up each time they would encounter her.
I love how there are no world ending stakes, no evil villains, and yet there is an amazing story full of conflict and Maple as OP as she is, is OP in "the right way", (i.e. she still struggles and has to work hard for what she gains).
Maple gets insanely OP and even more broken in the next arcs , making all of her previous transformations look like simple skills

My favorite moment from the series was Maple dropping in when Sally was about to give up. But to bring up another point, there's still plenty of room in the Maple Tree Guild to add more people for Season 2 battles :) I was happy to see that at least one of you guys realized the rush pacing of her acquiring forms in episodes 7 & 8 had a reason. I expect similar pacing in season 2. Hopefully some world event where the guilds will need to work together against an admin created "World Boss."
I also try to remember the objects she picked up along the way. The gear was already used up, but her and Sally picking up the gems on the beach and there is the giant feather from the crazy strong bird boss... I hope little things like that are picked up again later like they repurposed the bee's ring. ;) Very nice reaction all of you.

i'm confused as to how Payne could be so strong the fact that Payne used stout guardian would mean that he was a big shielder class and yet he had no shield at all and a long sword.
That's an inconsistency on the animators part, in the actual novel he had just enough health to tank the attack with one HP remaining. In other words, he was lucky.

All the guilds in that event have experience Holy judgement, Ragnarok, and Demon apocalypse by the three most dangerous guild they have ever faced hahahahaha. This lead to Panye's guild being first place, Maple's guild in third place, and Mii's guild in tenth place. the reason why Mii's guild in tenth place because they took out their own orb out of their base prompted to some of their point not counted and the fact almost all medium sized guild targeting them.
Flame Emperors made it back up to 2nd place after Maples attack.
@@mychaeldark1007 I'm referring to the WN version, which the Flame made it only to tenth place.
Edit: and it did not say if the Flame emperors in the anime made it back to second place. Though I have not read the LN yet, so I'm not sure if there is a change between WN and LN
@@joshhca6403 I've read the Web Novel. I though I remembered reading that Flame Emperors were second after the event was over, but I could be misremembering. The event happened pretty far back in the WN so I could be wrong.

This isn't a spoiler since this was stated in the 1st ep:
Stout Guardian is a Great Shield EXCLUSIVE passive, and Both Maple and Payne has it.
Maple isn't the only one who plays differently.
Dread has the skill too btw (the reason he survived getting hit by the twins)
@@TheGameleader5000 oh yeah. I read about that too. But it wasn't named yet right? At least on the translation of the novel i read it never mentioned the named of the skill. Weird.
It is a Great Shielder exclusive skill when earning it, but Payne got his from the second event as it was able to be purchased with the coins regardless of class. Also Maple didn't get the Fortress skill till later on. I think it was after the 5th event that she actually got Fortress which gives her an additional 50% Vit multiplier.
@@mychaeldark1007 Nope she did buy Fortress after the second event, together with Psychokinesis. It wasnt said from where Payne has the stout guardian skill. We dont know which skills people did buy from the events.
