the reason the Hydra didn't do anything about Maple eating it is that the hydra only had poison breath as attack. It couldn't bite as that wasn't programmed.
The most fun thing probably to me about this anime is that literally about one day in real world time is several weeks in the game. That along with the ability to taste virtual food, feel all sorts of sensations and get special powers and abilities possibly before other players like Maple kept getting lucky doing it's too freakin cool! Lol

No, she got the second shield because she wasn't getting any exp when her shield devoured an opponent. All the exp was converted to mp in the shield. She decided she needed another shield to use for everyday adventuring so she could continue to level up. The new shield was her idea not Sally's. Then the devs nerfed Devour from unlimited uses, to ten uses a day, so it became less of a problem. She's still the tankiest tank to ever tank though. How do you defeat someone who practically speaking takes no damage from any attack.

Nerfing is a term for making something weaker in general regardless of whether it was overpowered before or not.
I'm not aware of any term that is only specifically used for toning down overpowered abilities.

While she isn’t trying to get hurt, Maple is also just trying to have fun just like everyone else. But because she isn’t a gamer and has OP luck, she’s growing more powerful unintentionally. SHE’S NOT EVEN TRYING!!!

OK so do yall know those little crystals Maple gets when the sheild eats stuff well when it eats stuff the sheild turns it into magic power so what she meant by pulling out the big guns was using one 9f those crystals which is the magic power she gets from eating stuff and using it to power up the hydra attack more

@@YaBoyRockLee What's that's surprising to hear you didn't like. Guess just not something your into. But can check out Elfen Lied. Have you guys watched Bleach, Seven Deadly Sins, My heard Academia, Black Clover, Jo Jo's Bizzare Adventures, Fairy Tale and Demon Slayer. Those are some popular ones you can check out. I mostly read mangas now though, cause some of the animes that's are out now aren't really all that.
@YaBoyRockLee My humble suggestions would be "Bungo Stray Dogs" and/or "Gangsta",
or the classics like "Cowboy Bebop", "Samurai Champloo", "Space Dandy" (all three rather retro but still some of the best ever made animes imo) "Monster" was also good but very long, like 70+ episodes which may just be too many for reactions
EDIT: forgot to mention "Trigun" as another great classic, and "The Ancient Magus Bride" as a very pretty animated fantasy world series full of magic and mystical beings, fun to watch. And "Ascendance of a Bookworm" as a nice refreshing take on isekais
regarding the bit at 2:40-45, the dragon(hydra) had no way of harming maple since she managed to get poison immunity and as demonstrated when it picked her up... it had no way of damaging her with normal physical attacks. As shown during the big event battle, even hits that dont strike her shield will still deal zero damage because her defense stat is both Maxed out and x4 times that of what anyone without that particular pair of skills could even achieve by maxing out the defense stat.
As for her sadistic streak I do not belive that to be the case... remember she was all sad when the little flower-bunny thing in the start wound up dying from her shield hitting it. She gets over it and gets on with the killing though and as for the means... well, her strength stat is abyssmal, her weapon set type (greatshield and lil sword) is sub-par in the offense department so her only real option are skills and/or attacks that do not rely on her strength attribute... Eating boss monsters apparently doesnt rely on strength for damage done while the poison and paralysis moves likewise bypass the main flaw of her build. Tis cruel and unusual punishment perhaps to be on the receiving end but them's the breaks when you go up against the protagonist...
I think that deer boss is a reference to the Ragelope from Etrian Odyssey, but I'm not 100% sure.

just fyi, sadistic means enjoying to put others through pain. like, literally feeling joy from the suffering of others (that is caused by you). so i cannot agree with the comment putting her into that category. but i also never red the manga or light novel or whatever source material there is and the anime (as much as i enjoyed it) has some serious pacing problems, especially later on, so maybe i am not aware of something

She's not sadistic she just has a knack for understanding that there's no malice in pvp and the shortest path to victory for her is a paralyze>poison meta. It's just like saying someone "is brutal for headshotting in CoD"; not really, it's just a fast solution to one enemy so you can move to the next. No harm meant, no harm done, just playing by the rules. Ender's Game probably would be a good example of a more serious take on that topic, but for this.... lmao it's not her fault nobody can counter her

Btw, from what I understand it took her 7 hours to eat the poison dragon to death, the eating skill is kind of like a life drain ability, but does only miniscule damage, but since she has the defense of someone of much higher level, the hydra couldn't really do anything to her.

Dragon couldn't hurt her without poison, eating her wouldn't work because she'll eat the dragon from inside out
You forget? The dragon couldn't harm her with physical attacks and she couldn't harm the dragon with her fists (the dragon could only damage her with poison) but thanks to poison immunity, that didn't do anything either
