The Great Rune is Miquella's. The pre-order gesture is "Gesture: Ring of Miquella" has the same shape if you use the body has the main branch of the rune. It also has a clean, lighter yellow aura similar to Miquella's skin, as Great Runes all take aspects of their owners, most striking example being Malenia's being all rotted.
Neat detail is that the weird dude pulling his, I assume, spine out is following a specific theme in ER already: Weapons made out of spines.
The FingerSlayer, Sacred Relic and Sword of Milos all share the same thing: they are made out of someone's spinal cord or at least, their body. So maybe that's what the poor man is pulling out, some sort of twisted weapon made out of his own body.
Also last little cute detail: Messmer completes the trifecta of butterflies.
So there are 3 types in-game but so far, only two pointed to symbolize demigods:
Aeonian is Malenia's.
Nascent is Miquella's.
But Smoldering had no flavor text... unless if you look at the fact that Messmer uses flames and has similar color scheme to the winged bug.
Messmer was erased from history, just like the absence of description for the fire butterfly because it's clear they are a blaspheming demigod, primarily using fire and have the serpent coiled around him, both symbols of heresy by the Golden Order. He was shunned and thus, even the game did not acknowledge it thru the symbol that meant for him.
Futher proof that the trio of siblings are connected thru the butterflies is that Malenia has some in her winged form and in the trailer, the purple incantation seems to put NPCs to sleep (or maybe charm them like the Bewitching Branch since it's more pinkish then purple) and has butterflies during its casting.
It's possible that at some point, we may see signs of butterflies during Messmer's boss fights or even, the devs cheekily updating the Smoldering butterfly description to point to the connection.

One more detail, they confirmed the map to be roughly the size of limgrave, if not slightly bigger (unsure if including weeping, but likely not)
weeping peninsula is included in limgrave as there are 6 zones in elden ring

The crossbow looks excellent, the whole kick combo thing looks extremely interesting, wondering how that will work and if it's a new weapon category of some type, but my fav is the friggin CRUCIBLE WINGS AOW right at the end there that you omitted from your footage. Complete Crucible larping incoming!

Something tells me that the Lion Omen Creature is somehow related to Godwyn, because it uses golden lightning. Perhaps this is Godwyn’s shadow?

According to Miyazaki, it’s from a culture “before the Erdtree”, so it might not be related to any of the demigods
Now I’m hoping in the future we can get multiple DLCs there’s so much potential
Miquella is St. Trina, and I suspect that there's more to his story than the scene shown
I saw a theory that Messmer is the unborn third triplet to Miquella and Malenia. Miquella is represented by the Nascent butterfly, Malenia by the Aeonian butterfly, and Messmer possibly by the Smoldering butterfly. Which makes sense, since fire is Messmer’s whole thing. In the trailer, he even says all tarnished will be “scorched by Messmer’s flame”. There’s ALSO apparently an unmarked grave near Leyndell with a Smoldering butterfly actually placed on it, which is the only place in the game that that happens. Everywhere else they’re fluttering around and you pick them up that way. So people are theorizing that’s actually HIS grave. Plus he has red hair, so he has to be related to Radagon by the game’s logic. And his name starts with M, not R, so he doesn’t follow the naming scheme of the Carian demigods, but rather those born of Marika and Radagon. I’m SO excited to see what his whole deal is, I bet he’s going to as hard as Malenia. He’s definitely an Empyrean at least!
Definitely radagons kid in some form, also him talking about “mother” implies his talking about Marika or perhaps he could even be some form of twisted version of miquella created by Mohg in the egg? Or maybe Mesmer is even talking to the formless mother, talking about giving lordship to Mohg?
@@skinless5136 he’s almost certainly referring to Marika. Elden Ring follows a very specific logic of naming conventions that it itself established for the demigods/Empyreans. All the Carian demigods’ names start with R, being that of Radagon and Rennala. All of Marika’s children, except for Godwyn, her firstborn, have names that start with M, taken from her own. The game also establishes that red hair means a relation to Radagon, and since Messmer has demigodly stature, we can assume he’s at the very least a demigod. So his red hair means he’s related to Radagon, but his name also starts with M, which means he’s related to Marika. Therefore, he’s a child of Marika and Radagon, and as a result also an Empyrean. Why he was hidden away in the Land of Shadow and unmentioned in any historical records is something we don’t know yet, but he has to be Marika and Radagon’s secret third kid

Like either she is Miquella or is at least related to him, that picture in the trailer looks like fia but also looks like other depictions of st Trina with the white hair and black clothes, both fia and st Trina are connected with sleep, and the main theory I’ve heard for how we’re entering the DLC is through Miquellas dream - which is what we do with fia - and both Miquella and fia have an incredibly close relationship with Godwin but fall on exact opposite sides of the “those who live in death” debate because of how his death affected them. Like there just seem to be so many connections between what we know of the deathbed companions through fia and what we know about Miquella/St Trina

Honestly can't wait to help Miquella, the whole lore of elden ring i wanted to give the little guy a hand due his motives seems like the only good ending we can get. If he somehow betrays us he'll be beheade and t-bagged

Trailer so good it had a phase 2. Can’t wait for new lore to reveal that Miquella was actually a genuinely good person that wanted to help people and not a Griffith analogy.
If they make co-op better that would make it a 10/10

i have a doubt as er is my first souls game. do i have to start over with a new profile or will i be able to continue the play through with the dlc with my existing profiles?
I’ve played all except blood borne and sekiro u can use any character as long as it has defeated Mohg in the palace but be warned formsoft DLCs are HARD, level ur character up to 200 maybe 250 and be prepared for an amazing time
