Mine's too. I used to look at him like a big brother, him being two years older than me. Just discovered songs by them that were probably not released at the time here in the U.S. ( can't get used to losing you and hands off she's mine) and I instantly loved both songs.
When the song first came out, David Gilmour and Pete Townshend were hanging out and were trying to figure out the chords. They couldn’t do it, so they called David and asked him. That’s pretty cool.
@@OSDCrusher It is hot in San Bernardino in the middle of the day at the end of May. You are in the desert. (Yes. SoCal is a desert. I know...too well. At least the beaches are not that far away.) That stage the last place that I'd want to be.
Credit that brilliant sax player for fitting in all the notes at Grand Prix racing speed. He held the works back just enough to keep a brilliant song from from coming out all cartoonish
The recording is tempo perfect. One of the most exhilarating aural experiences in all of popular music. All credit to the sax player for making us remember, even a little bit, what it's meant to sound like.
Agree 100%. Original was so ingenious. Something so unique about it. This version doesn't capture it whatsoever. Who knows - a band playing live is both feeling the tempo of the crowd and playing maestro. Original is a gem which should never be altered IMO though.
This is not just good, its from another world good!
Damn, I never imagined this song being performed to a crowd of that magnitude. Amazing sound quality.
Never thought I'd say this about a song but this song has some killer tambourine.
Check out some Motown tunes for more.
zero cell phones!! love this song
One the most over looked bands of the 80's! So great live! You have to move to that beat!
No tats and no ones fat.
Breaks my heart 💔 RIP Ranking Roger (Feb. 21, 1963-March 26, 2019)
That is sad, I loved his solo album in the late 80/ early 90s

Such an underrated band!
5/23/23, 40 yrs ago in 5 days. Glorious!!
I watched this 3 times one after other and I could keep going on and on .....I just adore you....nothing much to say
This may be a candidate for one of the best songs of the 1980s...
I feel like building a barn :-)
And milk a bull!
“ What I got a booger hanging ? “
Fantastic song, one of the strangest guitar players about.

Wakeling’s guitar is tuned to D-A-D-A-A-D, which is very unusual 👍
They're playing so fast!
Cocaine.

cartoonish
This is the correct tempo
Nope it's a fair bit quicker but not as much as others are saying
A smidgen faster and it would've caused a fair number of strokes in the crowd of overheated revellers.
Damn must've been hot asf there! Rankin's sweaty asf!
mmm.hhmmm! I loved this man! I was there too!
Holy cocaine
LOL "heyguysithinkwecangetthewholesetdownto5minutesifwereallygoforit"
Christopher walken joined the beat??
Pick it up a little, Dave
The tempo is a bit too quick, there are some parts that should hold a moment longer to increase the impact of this great song.
I think they picked up the tempo in this one because I noticed they played the same song live in 82' and it was slower.

They can play their song anyway that they want, seems as though it's done pretty well with out your expert advice
Just saying
@@BrianTenBeers interjects opion to tell others not to express theirs. Lovely.
The beach ? Lol

The way the bass player wanders about like a fart in a trance annoyed me then and still does now.
