I'm 54 and music of any kind never gets old, Tenderness sounds as zesty and fresh as it ever did. Classical music has survived hundreds of years and so can perfect pop songs such as this.
Yes on both and the lead singer of The Psychedlic Furs is another original voice as well. Also let's not forget Mr Peter Murphy!! What a time for music!!
52 here, same feeling, I can't believe I found this song, danced it with my gf at the time in different places..Great trip back in time, we definitely had a good generation
Most most definitely I enjoyed this movie when I was a young teenager in 85 and now that I'm old man I still watch it when it comes on and I laughed so much it's one of my favorite all-time movies he say fats man let me tell you my story crazy insane about this eighth grade bitch
General Public was an amazing song. I can remember I was deployed in 2001-2002 overseas, and a lot was going on in my life at that time - I received a lot of bad news and nothing I could do about it. I was listening to a music list and this song came on and out of nowhere brought on an emotional break down for about 2 hours (never had one before that ever, nor since). I guess it just reminded me of a lot of people and events. I still listen to the song regardless. But the fact this song did that I would say makes it a powerful tune.
So i was born when this song came out i didnt hear it till 1995 in clueless and loved it saw them in kent ohio a few years back and i was just in awe to see them live
So many of you lucky folks got to grow up with all this wonderful music and style. I wasn’t there, yet feel this ache of nostalgia for it. The world now… just not my scene. Dry as dust.
General Public, Tenderness,!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I love the male bands from the 80s and 90s and 2000s era. What a terrific artist group,!!!!

@johnmicele3888 - I’m sorry for your loss. 😔 It looks as though hearing this song is more of a comfort for you than it is painful to you. I wish you peace. 🕊️
Yes, I had this album . The 80's was the best time for unity in music. It really brought people together. You had Culture Club and Cyndi Lauper on the soul chart.
Got a chance to see The Beat and Ranking Roger at a small club in Santa Clarita, CA shortly before he passed away. It was a great show and we had so much fun! RIP RR. Thanks for the memories!

In the mid 90s we'd go to clubs in Hollywood and L.A. , soon as this song came out we went running to the dance floor.
You mean the mid 80's, right?
