It is not a split personality. Darby (lead writer) just clarified this the other day. Basim and Eivor are both still Loki and Odin, it is akin to having amnesia when they reincarnate, there's no ISU in their mind that takes over, they just get a clarity once their memories come back to them. They are not separate entities. Darby said the Odin-Eivor fight is just a dramatized internal fight Odin is having with his/herself on whether to move on or not. The Basim we see younger will still have many of Loki's personality traits even if he doesn't remember fully at that point in time.

I believe the reason Basim attacked Eivor in my POV was because of the fact that it brings back some nostalgia from the first AC Game 2007, with Al Mualim, the mentor to Altair, being the main antagonist. Therefore, as a way to make AC Valhalla more interesting, the exact same formula of the Mentor being the Main Villain was reused. Valhalla was, is, and always will be, mi 1st AC Game. Please do not judge me
Bro called basim the best assassin in ac valhalla even though eivors able to hang off the edge of a not fully solid see through fence with an enemy looking right at him a d still not be caught 💀
I'm happy that this Loki identity will not be apart of Basim's story. We all want actual Assassin's Creed story of the creed. I can understand if he has alterior motives afterjoining the creed then that is fine, but it was already too much as Eivor nvr joined the Creed which to me (I don't consider this an AC story) as the creed is not involved. OH and they have already stated in a video that the djinn that he sees is not something of Loki but different as Basim already knew about the Creed Brotherhood. So it could be something within his mind as well that we will have to see from his backstory as Basim is a very odd character with is own motives.
Me from the future: We find out Loki was tortured and imprisoned, but that’s about it. I will add that they hinted at Basim, and possibly Loki as well, suffering from some sort of mental illness.
As i brush up on this ending before Mirage… I’m disappointed Shawn or Rebecca whoever/whatever couldn’t get the staff in Eivor’s grave to also resurrect them…
Most speculate that Basim was tricked by his former memories of Loki, and therefore became Loki in mind and in body. Some of the other Norse Sages didn't particularly have their memories entirely until later on. Heimdall was born before most of the Sages of AC: Valhalla, having been a warrior in his human life. Halfdan(son of Ragnar Lothbrok)is Thor's human counterpart who has a paranoid fear of poison much like the Thor of mythology who'd dies by poison by the world serpent Jormungandr; one of Loki's children whom he rights in Ragnarok. Sigurd of course triggered his Isu memories when he was spending time with Basim and even more so when that woman Fulke captured and experimented on him, cutting his arm off which ultimately unlocked his memories.(but of course, unlike Basim, he wasn't completely gone and succumbed to his Isu who was named Tyr.) Then of course Eivor Varinsdottir, her Isu being Odin formerly is hard to pinpoint per say. In her case, I'd say that when she was bitten by the wolf as a child, it triggered her memories faintly as it is told that Odin would be consumed and killed by the wolf Fenrir, Loki's child during the final battle. And as she grew older, the visions of Odin and memories grew stronger, bit of course, much like Odin who was mostly in denial of his fate, Eivor as well defied her former self; hence the whole scene when you(the player)fight Odin in the mind, a denied becoming him in both mind and body as well. I could go on about Freya's human counterpart (whom you meet indirectly in the beginning and later within the ISU machine before Basim's boss fight), and idunn's human counterpart (which is in the prequel comic before AC: Valhalla events.) But I think I explained, or hoped I did. Hope you understand a bit, because it can be a real cluster-f***.
@@gaunterodimmmastermirrors72 It may depend on each individual. Based on what we know, these sages will start having past memories reemerge. So I guess it depends on whether the sage interprets those memories as from a separate identity, or if they perceive both past and current experiences as a single continuous line of memories i.e. I am a reincarnation of Loki or I am Loki. If it's the former, you might get a case of Eivor who doesn't think she's necessarily Odin but interprets it as being connected to Odin. Being a girl and having the OG Odin try to kill her helps with that separation. If its the latter, you might get Basim who accepts Loki's memories as his. So he does believe he is loki and his family was ruined by Odin
@@gaunterodimmmastermirrors72 You made so many things clearer now. Absolutely makes sense. Thank you Master Mirror. -"all who have learned my true name are now either dead or have met an even worse fate"-
bassim has a bad vibe about him sometimes so i didn't trust him. but it was still a big surprise that he was kind of the main villain. from the look of his face i made the connection to loki but didn't realise they were reincarnated. so a little more clues would have been nice. but then again i skipped all dialogue for the last 30 hours because the game is just far too long and i just wanted it to be done and see the ending 🙂
Who says he's a bad guy? ⚠️Spoilers⚠️ Loki (the Isu) had an illegitimate son with his mistress and Odin (another Isu) was just full of hatred for that child, for some reason. Odin imprisoned the child (Fenrir) and it's heavily implied that he starved to death. Loki was pissed, so he took revenge by poisoning Odin's son Baldr. Odin then imprisoned and tortured Loki for thousands of years. That's where all this began.
@@DonDomel yes, Mirage is set like 12 years before Valhalla. Loki reincarnates into Basim, but does not merge with him 100% until a pivotal moment in his life.
I'm not sure how much sense it's going to make in Mirage to play as an Isu Reincarnate occupying his own genetic memory in ancient Afghanistan. And for what? The Earth is safe for now, there's no impending doom.
Actually you're playing as an Assassin first foremost which is what the series forgot about for 2 games plus a upcoming mobile game. That being said William Miles is sifting through Basim's memories to see if he is trust worthy to join the Assassins
Why would one want to play a loke game when all his life and meaning is to find and kill and/or destroy Odins legacy? Tho wasnt it obvious in Basims fight all hints he yells out about his child dying and wife because of you.
Why is Basims Wife Atleah ? Or what she is called She is the Isu women character or not ??? And how can she be her and Loki or Basim habe a kid as a wolf ? Makes no sence for me so, who is his kid ? And if he came from the isu world so he knows adam and eva ?
Aletheia, who is Loki's mistress and mother of his children Fenrir, Hel and Jormungandr. And no, their kids weren't literal monsters, that's just the mythological filter put there so Eivor can comprehend it.
you havent played the game and asking questions they are already answered. The visioms you see as eivor through odin is just a dream and simulation type memory of odin. Odin modified it that you as eivor see that as how godlike everything was. The true is shown in the anomaly. Odin and the rest where isus who tried to survive or transfer their mind into that machine and to the human fetuses. Lokis Child maybe was like eivor not a wolf but associated with a wolf so, like the vision of the king and ivar who kilss him with a dragon knife instead of an actual dragon...
You got it all wrong. Basim IS NOT Loki. Eivor IS NOT Odin. They are 2 different persons that work as one. Eivor and Basim are friends, until Loki realised it is reincarnated Odin. It was not Basims personality. It was Lokis that attacked Eivor.
Would be awesome since kassandra lives threw odyssey and valhalla apparently she kills basim in a future game..also atleast a mention of Eivor..sucks so bad that basim is the End Game character I didn't like him at all I knew from the jump he was up to something I could just tell...
Yeah and another thing that the game doesn't tell you is that the only reason why he didn't figure out you were old and sooner was because the protagonist is canonically female and only appears male in the olden visions so no many of the in-game characters are not gay they just see you as a woman
I'm watching this now, 2 years later, while playing AC: Mirage with Basim as the main character. Interesting... AC: Valhalla had too much going on in it for me and I lost interest after a while. I am glad the game is returning back to its roots.
I'll be honest: knowing this about Basim has made me LESS excited for the his game. Considering that his lineage just... doesn't add up to him being the reincarnation of a Norse God
Why does that suck? The Sages were all reincarnations of Aita. Did you have a problem with that as well? The Norse “Isu” found a way to be reborn by creating the world tree machine. Loki is simply looking to restore his family. Not crush and control Humanity like Juno wanted
You muppets. I've been saying sages are the exact reborn ISU as humans for ages. Basim is loki. They aren't different. Basim remembered what eivor/Odin did to his child. Please do not judge me
L + ratio
What do you mean?@@expo6877
Basim is hands down my favorite AC character EVER! Expertly written, imho! I hope we see more of him in Shadows! We better!!!
Bro called basim the best assassin in ac valhalla even though eivors able to hang off the edge of a not fully solid see through fence with an enemy looking right at him a d still not be caught 💀
Evior is the reincarnation of odin and basim is the reincarnation of Loki
Here's what i think.
Desmond Altair Ezio = loki descendant
@@AMaidenlessRunt except Altair and Ezio aren't related at all, they're two separate bloodlines, maybe Altair though, but definitely not Ezio
Me from the future:
We find out Loki was tortured and imprisoned, but that’s about it.
I will add that they hinted at Basim, and possibly Loki as well, suffering from some sort of mental illness.
it confused the hell out of me i wonder if the isu version odin had something to do with it. what if he took him from his timeline
ubisoft watching the video be like:
How did Basim discover the truth about eivor?
Well that's what mirage is
As i brush up on this ending before Mirage… I’m disappointed Shawn or Rebecca whoever/whatever couldn’t get the staff in Eivor’s grave to also resurrect them…
So does that mean that basim kept his memories but the other gods didn’t
Hope you understand a bit, because it can be a real cluster-f***.
svalka i think had her memories
@@gaunterodimmmastermirrors72 that was good. Thank you for that explanation
@@gaunterodimmmastermirrors72
You made so many things clearer now.
It’s a dope ass Viking simulator. Cool with me lol.
I never knew until now, basim is my favorite character in ac Valhalla and I feel bad that he’s the boss of the game.
but it makes no sense Basim and Eivor both are in Brotherhood they should be working together
So did Odin came before the Isu
This is so confusing and I’m still confused a tiny bit 😂😂
Thanks!
im confused is it the fact that as odin jailed fenrir in the game or the wolf that eivor killed as a child a reincarnation of fenrir
Which movie is this from
That’s a good question
Damn I really need to finish playing Valhalla before mirage comes out soon
This aged well
thankf for spiler in title
Well we getting a basim game now lol nice call
Wow he predicted the new AC game
Is funny how there making his back story for the new game did this guy had four sightings
I don't see basim r Loki as a bad person tbh but that's just my opinion
exactly when Odin seemed like a egoistic prick when he fought Eivor
I knew he was Loki before watching this video, and he attacked obviously because Eivor aka Odin kills Loki's wolf son.
i thought abstergo made basim so they could kill leyla to get the animus back
Sigurd is tyr
Eivor is odin
Randvi is Freya
Basim is loki
Sooo who is thor?
Halfdan
The blacksmit in eivors settlement gunner is hes name i think
No. Svala is Freya, Randvi is not.
Shouldn’t ther be eight identities? Who was the keeper of memories supposed to be, the victim of loki at that table?
@@norag8265 well he was not mentioned in the game
ok 2 years passed - we have now Assassin Mirage just released - so in Mirage we will see how Basin become bad guy ?
Who says he's a bad guy?
⚠️Spoilers⚠️
Loki (the Isu) had an illegitimate son with his mistress and Odin (another Isu) was just full of hatred for that child, for some reason. Odin imprisoned the child (Fenrir) and it's heavily implied that he starved to death. Loki was pissed, so he took revenge by poisoning Odin's son Baldr. Odin then imprisoned and tortured Loki for thousands of years. That's where all this began.
@@takoshihitsamaru4675 so who is Bassim? he is Loki? Mirage is before Valhalla?
@@DonDomel yes, Mirage is set like 12 years before Valhalla. Loki reincarnates into Basim, but does not merge with him 100% until a pivotal moment in his life.
Basim's ending was stupid
I'm not sure how much sense it's going to make in Mirage to play as an Isu Reincarnate occupying his own genetic memory in ancient Afghanistan. And for what? The Earth is safe for now, there's no impending doom.
Actually you're playing as an Assassin first foremost which is what the series forgot about for 2 games plus a upcoming mobile game. That being said William Miles is sifting through Basim's memories to see if he is trust worthy to join the Assassins
What? It doesnt give it away just from the fact that loki is a spitting image of basim 🤣
So we are going to see Loki in Baghdad in Mirage then, that's a bit crap
Why would one want to play a loke game when all his life and meaning is to find and kill and/or destroy Odins legacy? Tho wasnt it obvious in Basims fight all hints he yells out about his child dying and wife because of you.
That's a pretty sweet spoiler right in the title of the video.
Mirage so your dream will become reality
Why is Basims Wife Atleah ? Or what she is called
She is the Isu women character or not ???
Play assassins creed mirage basim story is in it
You got it all wrong. Basim IS NOT Loki. Eivor IS NOT Odin. They are 2 different persons that work as one. Eivor and Basim are friends, until Loki realised it is reincarnated Odin. It was not Basims personality. It was Lokis that attacked Eivor.
No wouldn't like to play as Basim! But would like to carry on playing Eivor on his journeys (DLC'S) because to Viking storys
Why do you keep refer Evior as she?
Because female Eivor is the canon - her full name is Eivor Varinsdottir (Varin's daughter)
Eivor is female Havi is male
That’s stupid male evior is ten times better
Eivor is a female name
I guess will see his story in mirage
He literally explained it she has Odin's bloodline
It wasn’t basim it was Loki seeing it as Odin
Would be awesome since kassandra lives threw odyssey and valhalla apparently she kills basim in a future game..also atleast a mention of Eivor..sucks so bad that basim is the End Game character I didn't like him at all I knew from the jump he was up to something I could just tell...
She never killed Basim she died literally prior
Basm is petty af
Yeah and another thing that the game doesn't tell you is that the only reason why he didn't figure out you were old and sooner was because the protagonist is canonically female and only appears male in the olden visions so no many of the in-game characters are not gay they just see you as a woman
I was wondering why so much gay shit was happening 😂😂💀💀
I'm watching this now, 2 years later, while playing AC: Mirage with Basim as the main character. Interesting... AC: Valhalla had too much going on in it for me and I lost interest after a while. I am glad the game is returning back to its roots.
Well you don’t have much room in your head than if you lost interest
basim is literally loki? holy fuck
You can recognizw the voice. Also, Halfdan is Thor, Sigurd for Tyr, Svala is Freyja.
I'll be honest: knowing this about Basim has made me LESS excited for the his game. Considering that his lineage just... doesn't add up to him being the reincarnation of a Norse God
True bro its too complicated story wise as well
So he's a sage ..
Wait who is Thor ?
Halfdan Ragnarson, you meet him in Eurvicscire
Is it just me or does basim look like ezio?
These new AC games sure are confusing
And then their was Mirage
New games plot is already gonna suck with him being a recantation of loki freaking dumb
Why does that suck? The Sages were all reincarnations of Aita. Did you have a problem with that as well? The Norse “Isu” found a way to be reborn by creating the world tree machine. Loki is simply looking to restore his family. Not crush and control Humanity like Juno wanted
These AC story's are ridiculous.
You muppets. I've been saying sages are the exact reborn ISU as humans for ages. Basim is loki. They aren't different. Basim remembered what eivor/Odin did to his child. That's the only reason he attacked. Even Darby has had to come out and put a stop to this misinformation you lot have been spreading.

Either you go for good, or I will not stop.
You got your wish
I wouldn’t want to play or know that traitorous bastard. I actually couldn’t stand the ending
we still dont know the backstory on Loki vs odin though. Odin seemed like an egoistical powerhungry prick, Loki was just having his revenge.
And also I think your confused about the lore of Assassins creed Valhalla.
Your got your wish go play mirage
Why would Odin be in a female body, and why does Basim look the same as Loki after stealing someone else's place. Wait, maybe Frigg was dead, and Odin took her body, since he didn't have one for himself.
Hahaha. Your wish has come true. 😁
