WHOS HERE AFTER MIRAGE!? Hit that subscribe button!
I was very mixed on Basim after seeing the end of Valhalla but I will say after beating and 100% mirage even earning the platinum, i have warmed up to him.
If you looked around the cabin as Basim, you'll find some notes indicating Edward Kenway possibly named his son Haytham after reading about Hytham, of whom was believed to be the first Assassin in England.
Oh the irony, from fist assassin of England to the first Templar of the Americas
I think he travelled the new bureau at London and explored its previous ruins and discovered Hytham’s works
Bureaus were already in England though
@Altaïr ibn la'Ahad so is it the First Assassin or the first Hidden one because there are many Hidden ones who operated in England before Haytham ! If so Eivor and Haytham could Make the transition between the hidden ones and the Assassins
@Mentor Altaïr ibn la'Ahad No, they know about the Roman Assassin's, he's just the first Assassin to arrive AFTER the evacuation of the hidden ones, and since the Assassin's have been there ever since he's an important person

Not gunna lie, the idea of a very ancient assassin meeting modern assassins is a plot I would like to see go down.
its something ive been waiting for since Altair haha. they took the long round about way but alas, we got there in the end
Well he is Loki now, the 1st Isu descendant to fully awaken
Not only is he both an ancient Hidden One, a modern Assassin, but also an Isu. Well, an Isu brain in a human body. Basin has fully recovered his memories as Loki, and now takes on that identity, the identity of his original life.
@@IamSupreme333 now i think the big thing coming soon to come will be Basim and a show down with Juno she with the templars and he with the assassins them using both orgs for their own personal war

The Reader - I've been at it for MILLENIA, doing every single calculation possivle, no clue how to save humans.
Layla - Have you tried thinking harder?
The Reader - GENIUS!
Thats because the reader is Desmond so it makes sense that he would only look at what could happen after he fixed the world
I mean this isn't about thinking harder, this is about thinking about a completely different subject entirely that he didn't believe was relevant until she convinced him otherwise.
Having more time to run the numbers doesn't make you any smarter at choosing what numbers to run.

God, going into the animus as Basim felt so dirty. Even doing Eivor's quests now feels dirty. Like I'm not supposed to be here. I don't like it
Right.... Why would they end the story that way? Feels like a sad ending or something.
Dude lmao I thought I only felt this way
Ikr... But maybe they're making it for a plot in future dlc... Same as AC Odyssey
@@smartmouf3116 It's how the early games used to end, especially the modern-day. AC1 ends with Desmond seeing Subject 16's blood all over the walls. AC2 ends with Desmond and his team running away from Abstergo. Brotherhood ended with Desmond being forced by Juno to kill Lucy. AC3 ends with Desmond sacrificing himself to save the world but freeing Juno.
It's very classic AC and I'm here for it. The modern-day feels important for the first time since 2012 and I couldn't be more excited.
@@unc54 All of that sounds better than making the main character's enemy the successor in the end. Eivor became a big warrior, lived a happy live, probably became old and died after a fullfilled live.
And then there is Basim
basims lines are pretty fuckin funny tho
Eivor bested the person placed into him, AKA, The Mad One, Odin, and got rid of it, completely deleting that person from existence, or at least from that time period, since I know from AC black flag these people of past appear at random time period, but i guess everyone at same time. Same here why Basim ?! Why not Valkas mom lol. I know for sure in the next AC game he’ll be the main modern day character.
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Basim Loki and Eivor is Havi? Thats what Basim's conversation with Eivor in the mid-game was all about when he was talking about himself once having been a father. This subtly refers to Havi killing Loki's son.

Yes we did, but she’s joined Desmond in their weird mid death location now so she is out. While basam/Loki is freed from it.
Plus unlike the last two he’s not good or bad, he’s exstreamly smart but knows nothing of modern day besides the basics and he’s a fully intergrated isu Loki. In otherwords he has no illegence, no modern past thus he’s a true ghost and at the same time dos not know the modern history of the assasins, Templar’s or really anything else besides the stuff he was able to pick up in that mideth place. The thing is he knows a lot about the isu because he is one, thus He know their structure, technology, history and people all things we have just been slowly figuring out throughout the series, he knows all of that and more.
He is a free agent who has a goal of finding his children (and probably other things as well), and he will use the assasins and his knowledge to find them be it for better or worse. Because unlike people like Juno or even Odin, Loki is basam and basam is Loki thus Loki is truly free and unshackled. he is a walking god/isu who unlike all the rest can actively take part in the worlds activities and politics. And of all the god dammed gods it could be its fucking Loki, is that a good or bad thing because it’s Loki so who the hell knows he flip flops to his own wims

But I discussed with a friend about it (and about a Germany one during the cold war, just imagine using a cable like in Syndicate to pass over the wall), but it is too modern for it. Some people are still alive, some are direct sons or grandsons to people alive at the time so...
Plus the new fighting system don't seem really appropriate for modern fighting. I am more thinking of a medieval China, or maybe another one in Africa. Some leaks mentions medieval France, but I think it is just the second DLC for Walhalla
Basim really does have a hard on for Eivor. Even after being bested he still wants to try and make digs at a long since gone grave. And yet he still lost and he’ll never be able to defeat Eivor. Basim is Loki. Odin didn’t want loki to be apart of the reincarnation process. So seeing Odin/Eivor finally bones amd dead, is pleasing to him
Seeing Shaun and Rebeca’s models like this ... it just makes me sad ...
Alright, here's my theory. Basim, Dag, Sigurd and Eivor are all sages of different Norse gods. Dag is Thor, Basim is Loki, Sigurd is Tyr and Eivor is Odin. If I remember the notes from Black Flag correctly and the bad guy from Unity, the situation is very similar. You are your own person, but the sage memories kick in and the person eventually becomes a sort of host or co host.
Using what we know, the norse visions Eivor receives are likely his best interpretation at the memories of Odin, else he'd lose his mind seeing the Isu memories. It may be that Hel, Jormungandr and Fenrir are not what they are interpreted in Norse myth, but represented of their roles. Fenrir may be seen as a wolf because of his lust for power, maybe his ferocity, Jormungandr may be seen as a snake because he may be a kiniving (uhh idk how to spell it) bastard like his father. Like, the Nornir may be a representation of a mathematical artificial intelligence or something, but that's simply how they were represented as.
Personally i think that with the introduction of Basim and this newstoryline, the arc for the assassins will finally turn around, we'll find the templars and then we'll have to fight Loki and his children.

Loki as Basim wanted to kill Odin, but the kiss of the wolf took that from him. Eivor beat Basim trapping him in the Tree of Life. Basim is freed and Eivor has long since passed. He can now do with Eivor’s memories and experience as he wants to achieve his true goal of saving his family. I feel like in the end, like AC Brotherhood, the enemy won after all you went through. No it does seem pretty sexist because he also specified Female Eivor. I can get preferring how Alexios and Male Eivor deliver their lines (I do too personally), but they are written exactly the same.
Basim was able to successfully recover his memories as Loki while Eivor rejected Odins memories being they are 2 different personalities. As of present day, Eivor and Odin are officially dead. Odin and his group can only get reincarnated ONCE, not multiple times. So their time in the 800s era were the only time they were reincarnated.
Now that Loki is in present day, he will learn all that he can about human history, templars, and assassins. With his ISU knowledge and present day knowledge he would be very powerful. Maybe he will recover Desmond’s body and bring it to World Trees and use the Staff to bring him back? I don’t think Loki is evil, in fact Odin seems like a massive punk face considering Fenrir is actually an Isu Odin treated like a dog and he’s a douche in the death conversations.
Loki and Alethia don’t want to mess up the humans or enslave them like Juno and the Templars, they just want to be reunited with their family. Loki seems to be the true goal of chaos/free will of the assassin order where Odin and company are the templars and want control or power/everlasting life. He seems suspicious, but he is the most interesting character.
Now that Dawn of Ragnorak trailer just released, it seems to imply that Basim/Loki is viewing Odins memories in the animus to search for his children.
How do you know, Norse Isus only can reincarnated once ?

Basically the game is showing us an Eivor’s perspective while she is being manipulated by Odin and his fake memories. If you read lore you will notice, that Loki is not the best man alive but still is not an asshole unlike Odin and Juno. Meanwhile his girlfriend, other isu who lives in a sceptre of Hermes, always tried to achieve equality and peace with humanity.

@@josephKEOarthur I mean considering how the bleeding effect works it's closer to Basim letting himself be mentally contaminated by Eivor...
And honestly Basim's motives have not been inherently malicious. He's a vengeful schemer, sure, but many assassin protagonists we've played as are varying degrees of that. His actions were not part of some great evil plot, it was a quest for revenge against Odin for destroying his family...sound familiar?
Basim/Loki also does seem to have clear beef against nutty tyrants who abuse their authority for themselves to the suffering of innocents, on account of Odin being exactly that, so he is also of an Assassin/Hidden One-like mindset. All of the protagonists in this series have been morally grey, they kill for the greater good even at the best of times. Some even did so for personal vendettas, and hell Edward killed for money. Some non-player assassins have done some really fucked up shit. We shouldn't pretend the "heroes" of this series have a spotless record of virtue.

@@xavierdejesus6198 And Basim’s has been decaying for over 1,000 years, yet they brought him back. It won’t be hard to write in a way for Desmond to come back.
@@xavierdejesus6198 they probably invent some isu artifacts just to do that, or probably use the existing one like the staff or the shroud.
Eivor and Sigurd were Basims targets from the very beginning.
The crazy thing is he's not even subtle about it and yet you never pick up on Basim being a bad guy unless you do the animus anomalies and the mythological arcs.
Hemanth Swarna He was studying them to make sure they were the right ones. Since he is an assassin he still follows his creed so he doesn’t kill innocents. Basim is not a bad guy, more of a tragic figure
I didn’t understand why he tried to kill them at the isu temple
@@SROD_559 Because Basim has been taken over by Loki and he thought Eivor had been taken over by Odin so that he (Loki) could have his revenge on Odin for killing his son.
I’m curious on how Eivor died? Was it old age or a fight ? And where exactly is her/his grave.
It will be cool what will happen in the next game since basim is 1000 years old and full of knowledge, he has so much to share
Over 1000 years thats cool but looks good considering his age not even a single grey hair visible 😁
So is "Basim", "Loki" or just a genetic clone of "Loki"?
He’s probably a similar thing to a Sage like aita, what exactly well I got a feeling we’ll find out
He is loki
Is basim evil
@@erisveseli prolly lol
There is no Loki, it's just Basim. The scenes in Asgard are Eivor interpreting what the ancients did in order to upload their consciousness into the "tree" at the end of the game. When you find all the fragments you can see what it really looked like.
Hes definitely not the hero but hes not really a villain too. As much as i want this franchise to end now i want to know whats next installment gonna be about.
I hope they go to ancient Rome
@@obi-wankenobi4640 the armors would probably be the same as the greeks tho? only different is beliefs.
@@zulchemical the armour is what’s important? Not the fact it’s a fascinating period with dense cities and plenty of historical characters?
Next game will probably be in the Middle East, Ancient Rome, or China I highly believe it’s one of those three.
Well now you know, don't you?
You know what kinda feels weird, I slew fenrir while Basim was in control of the animus. I can only imagine the sadness/anger he felt.
🤣🤣
Lmao damn he's probably crying
and now we will learn the history of basim
So we just play as Basim in the next game cool I kinda liked him
I think we’ll play as him during the modern day parts of one of if not both the dlc’s for the game and it is a possibility we’ll play as or see him in the next game
there is no Basim anymore, it's Loki instead.
@@lycoonx.m makes sense, but he is kind of a bad guy, so idk how him being an isu that is so intelligent and has managed to survive all those years will do playing as eivor during the dlcs, i mean, the user can't change how the person was while reviving his memories but what will he do in present day with that knowledge
It doesn't make sense to me. So Basim(Loki) is a bad guy? We play as a bad guy in the next one?
More of an Anti Hero type I'd think.
Basim is pretty much loki at this point which means he's probably gonna be a secret evil protagonist at some points
We need a ww1 or ww2 assassins creed. That little side synchronization from syndicate when you go to ww1 or 2 can't remember, was awesome.
The WW2 thing was Unity. WW1 was Syndicate.
Read the comics
Faaxx
@@jkx3rd wait they have comics ?🤯
Or civil war of america
Is it weird that I started teabaging eivor's bones as basim saying "revenge feels good heh eivor?"
Yes
Seeing eivor like that is sad I wish he could've pulled the immortality thing like last game for a final punch
who knows... there are other Isu artifacts that could revive Eivor.
:P
That is some immortality for Basim.
Life is not a fairy tale and there are no happy endings. A hard truth I have learned in the past.
Ac 3
Dear Assassin's creed fans.
We need to search in which mythology or which country , the wolf is an important symbol.
It will be the next game.
I assume the huns/nomad civ will be next theme.. They're all hunters like wolf
@@andiadlan6261 I heard a rumor that the next game will be set in asia, maybe it might be hun
The next game is rumored to be set in China and the protagonist’s name is Lee. We will know if the rumors are true by next summer.
@@tonysoldan Next summer? I think the next AC is for holiday 2022. They won't do it each year now given the season pass content.
Wolves are important in the mythology of nearly every culture that interacted with them. I spent nearly all of April researching just that.
When you realize basim is 7 centuries older than Ezio Auditore and you can see him in a present day lol
I like Basim's t-shirt its nice reference on his mythical son Fenrir.
Basim be looking like he bout to take silicon valley by storm lmfao
William Miles needs to come back
Did you see basims face when he was given the name William miles
It never occurred to me that basim was Loki and Sigurd was Tyr, like right after I made the connection and played through Asgard and jotenheim a lot of the shit they talked about made sense
When you realise Basim is Loki when you play in the Asgard and Jotunheim worlds🔥
Basim kinda sus I need the season pass content now for answers
-Basim was the impostor-
imagine if basim could use the staff to revive all assassin's and all of them fight the templars at once, etc
They all would get killed lets be real because of modern weapons, and they would not understand each other you know. They only speak english because animus translated them inside the animus.
@@lordtouchme77shove them in a animus
If you sit down at the fire pit outside Eivor takes a seat next to you and smiles
Say what you want about Valhalla but,I think most of us can agree that the modern day was amazing
Why didnt basim died of radiation before falling to the staff? He was exposed to this radiation for 8 years ( from just after Desmond activated the machine in ACIII )
I think he did, then got resurrected by the staff.
He got resurrected by the staff, so pretty much the staff is confirmed to bring people back to life
When did he come in contact with the staff
@@Poke-ladd When Layla was in the machine with The Reader.
Wait... Then if Desmond got ahold of the staff, can he be resurrected?
If we get to play as Basim in the next game; it would mark the first time in assassin's creed history we will be playing as a human sage.
Eivor is Sage also
@@mrmeme2917 Forgot that; lol
Been waiting for a modern day assassin's creed. I hope we get it with basim.

Fun fact: We get to play as the traitor Basim in AC: Mirage
Layla The heir of Memories meets Desmond The heir of Bloodlines.
It starting to makes a lot of sense.
I hope basim had alot of similaritues with desmond or they might revive desmond miles

@@harry5384 dude this is a game, if Ubisoft wants, Desmond may revive as goat
Nice to see Rebecca and Shaun nostalgic
What the AC series needs is getting back to it's roots. We had Ezio trillogy, with Desmond being the main for the present and then they did Black flag, rouge, unity and syndicate with a nameless character in the present until Layla showed up in Origins. Hopefully they'll keep Basim/Loki or introduce a new one in Mirage for us to follow.
Personally i'd like for them to actually keep Basim as the "past" protaganist for the next three games. Mirage is set to take place 20 years before his introduction in Valhalla, fill those years with a story about him and Loki.
There is plenty of room to fill up Baghdad and the middle east during the 800s for three games with Basim and Loki. Could even revisit Egypt and Constantinople, or my personal wish: India.
So you remember Odin screaming lokis name in son of the mask? Well that was my reaction to the ending
will be interesting to see BASIM's story in AC Mirage
They’re gonna send a message back in time they the animus and we might play as the human Desmond again. This also shows that even humans might be able to transfer their minds into other bodies as well.
If you didn't get the gist Basim is a safe and the reincarnation of the ISU Loki. Also, just because Aivor is dead; doesn't mean that Odin is gone. He along with the other 9 isu (Aita included) will continue to reincarnate amongst human kind for centuries to come and yes more than one sage of the same template Isu can exist within close proximity of each other (interms of years)
No, only Aita had modified "mead" to reincarnate as many times he needed to reunite with Juno. Nordic Isu had only one shot, they were specify to reincarnate in the same era so they could travel and connect to Valhalla.
Basim: it's a nice place to die eivor. not everyone gets to choose. you bested me, I don't know how but you did. and now, i can take anything i want from you, your skills, memories ... secrets .. they're all mine now. and when i have them, i will put them to good use .... to find my children .. and bring my family back together .... a quiet place to find an end, i almost envy you.
Another Evil Assassin Main Character just like Shay! Very excited to wait for AC Mirage!
Shay wasn't fyi..... The assassins became evil and betrayed him and the templars were right
the cool thing is basim is gonna be the main character in and out of the aminus in mirage
Not going to lie Basim's rejuvenation from the staff of eden must have been very painful from the looks of it healing a millennium of old age and body problems.
