TN . I know your frustration. I also ask for long layers and never get them. I don’t know what the problem is but I’ll bring my iPad and show her this video. Even when I show pictures of what I want, she doesn’t do it. She always wants me to do something else with my hair. I’m a sissy. I always let her talk me into what she wants to do with my hair.

I have just attempted to cut my own hair following this video. And I am loving the result!!!! 😍 previously I had shoulder long hair that was flat with no layers and heavy at the bottom. Now I have pretty layers! Although the final result may not be 100% amazing like the video, but it's probably 80% and I'm satisfied with it 😍 I didn't get to trim properly the back part since my husband was scared that he would mess up my hair 🤣 so I just skip the trimming part and do the layer cutting. I have to admit it was daunting at first but after a few snippets I could see I was making good layers so I was more confident to do it. And I think this style is quite forgiving, it's not fatal even if you don't cut extremely neat, as long as it's still within the guides. I'm loving my hair now ❤️❤️❤️ thank youuuu Summer. Please continue to post more videos!

This is a good endorsement to give this a go. Thanks. Btw I keep my boyfriend as far away as possible from my hair w a pr of scissors. Once he positively ruined it as passive-aggressive act of unkindness as he had no intetest in helping me. He destroyed the entire back of my hair ad though he were literally blind with Tourettes Syndrome to “teach me” never to ask him again. I returned the “lesson” by leaving his as* and never looking back. Many tears I shed over that evil prank. Amazing what people are capable of, but I realize it reflects more upon me in choosing him than on him. 🥲🙋‍♀️

This is the cut that looks the best on me with my face shape. I love your technique. Every single time I get my hair done, I go home and have to cut uneven sections. It’s very upsetting, especially paying top dollar. I even show pictures. Thank God hair grows back. I absolutely love this video. You go girl. Great instructions and awesome hairdresser.

This is exactly what happens to me. I even take pictures and ask for exactly what you did in this video. I end up leaving with chunky layers that flip out on the ends and it nearly makes me cry. It's the exact opposite of what I ask for every single time. I had my hair cut this way for YEARS, but now no one will do it because everyone is wanting the trendy blunt cuts with shaggy layers. It looks horrible on me, but I keep trying to get closer by being more specific every time with my terminology. If I want this exact cut, what particular words should I use? Thank you for this amazing video of a beautiful cut!!

@@Gnomes22 good idea but that would look weird just going into a salon and saying you want to watch! Wouldn't it? I asked for short layers on my wavy curly hair but it is so disconnected from the back. Used to have long layers. But the layers look good til i gets past the ear then they drop too far down. love this! this is what i told my new hairdresser I wantwhen i recover from surgery. I have seen more hairdressers in the last 5 yrs than I had in the 15 yrs before that - they keep quitting or they're in a rush & don't do that great etc. (We moved from our home state 11/2016 which is why i had to start all over) One girl messed up on cutting my hair which i didn't notice for 2-3 days because of the way it was styled & I didn't wash it for that long due to health reasons. I was so disappointed because my hair was finally growing & I needed a good 2 inches or so cut off! Wish you were one state further north. Thank you for posting this. I'm going to share with new hairdresser..

I'm usually disappointed by hairdressers so I cut my own hair now. This video really helped guide me and although not as perfect looking as the cut on mannequin, I'm happy with results. 😊 In past a hairdresser doing a straightening on me asked who cut my hair? When I told her I did she said wow, "I couldn't of cut it better myself!" I was really flattered. (I worked in spas and beatyshops and watched the gals cut hair during down time).

If you can perfect that you’ll be a great cosmetologist! Also learn your lab your color mixing! One of the most important things to know! I went to school in the 70s already knew a lot from doing things on family that were BRAVE! School is very scary at times but pay attention to everything you can and you’ll have a great career! Good Luck☘️And continue to learn all the time! I had my own business! My daughter is licensed and does nails! Im retired! I followed the principles of this cut my self. My daughter helped me with the back. The best cut I've had in a long time. I spend 180 at my salon but the cuts didn't flatter my face shape. My husband even complimented me. I have medium to short length hair and styled it with beach waves.

YOU GO GIRL!! i myself have been licensed since 1996; and i always wanted to do hair since i was little!! Tho i more leaned towards clipper cutting and edging. My hair is very very long and ive struggled finding products that last!!! Awesome info!

Love your videos... beautiful cut. I had super long, silver locks and finally decided to go shorter. This is the look I wanted... discussed what I wanted and showed pictures and was devastated when 10 inches were HACKED off with uneven chunks and zero shape. It was all I could do to get out of the salon without bursting into tears. Sure wish I could make an appt with You!!!! ❤

Amazing hair artist had a lady cut my hair like this before and it was the best haircut I ever had she done the same technique that you did bringing it over in a cross and I still had longer pieces in the front it was the most amazing haircut I cannot find anyone else that can do this cut for me thank you for showing me this maybe I can find someone and show the video but there's no more precision hair cutting anymore like it was back in the day I'm 50 years old it's just so different but thank you so much again it's always a pleasure to see your videos and new subscriber

This is exactly how I want my hair cut . And for some reason my hair salon just can’t get it right . I can cut my own bangs and sides. But the back I can’t do . I know how I want it but never get it cut right when someone else does it . I wish I had someone like you to cut it . It would be done right . Beautiful hair cut love this video .

I have always had my hair cut dry cut. I have really thick hair. The only thing I don't like is the point cutting. I have always layers since 6grade. I like to hot rollers. The point cutting enables me to grab that layer wrap it around my roller , years ago with regular layering I could see my layers. I always had 3 to 4 layers. I like watching your video. Look forward to seeing more. Happy Holidays to you.

My goodness! Darling you make magic with hair! I bet you can make 20 hairs look like a thousand golden locks! I've never had an excellent or even a good hair trim. I just tell myself, "What is the difference between a good haircut and a bad haircut?" I keep telling myself, "Two weeks!!"
I so dream of a scissor wizard like you. Perhaps, in my next life. XoX

Thank you so so much! I have been looking for this hair cut for several years now… my previous stylist, who lives in different state, was cutting my long hair like this and it lookd so beautiful. Also it would grow in to a nice longer hair so I visited her only like once in 6 month to treem my hair. Amazing style! I love it so much! Thank you again, now I can show it to my current stylist. I live in Florida. I wish you were somewhere around, I would be your client!

My hair are super long, half way down my bum. I have not had a haircut in 11 years because I never get the haircut I ask for, plus, the stylists chopped the length off my hair every time. So now I stopped getting a haircut altogether. I would love a layerd haircut exactly like this. You respected the length the client desires and still gave a beautiful layered look with so much volune. The face framing was perfect.
