    And they still wonder why we choose bear

    • @mazzydazey-555
      @mazzydazey-555 Місяць тому +6

      Oh, I don't know, maybe because a bear is a wild, unpredictable animal that could maul you without a second thought, while humans--you know, people--have the ability to understand, communicate, and not rip each other apart on a whim? But hey, who needs emotional maturity or safety when you’ve got the excitement of a potential bear attack, right? Not all men are just ticking time bombs, totally incapable of being decent. Let’s ignore that people are individuals with their own actions and choices. Yeah, some men are dangerous, but guess what? So are some women, some bears, some dogs, and basically everything else on the planet. Dangerous people exist everywhere, and acting like all men are the same isn’t just oversimplified, it’s pretty reckless.

    • @frivolousfemme
      @frivolousfemme Місяць тому +17

      @mazzydazey-555 In a practical sense, the idea of choosing a bear over a man can be rooted in the desire for safety and emotional stability. In a world where some women experience danger, harassment, or exploitation from men, the notion of a bear symbolizes something that is less likely to harm emotionally or physically. Bears, as wild creatures, don't manipulate or betray; they live by instinct and leave humans alone if left undisturbed. This mentality may reflect a preference for solitude or companionship that doesn't involve the complexities or risks associated with human relationships, especially when men are seen as dangerous or untrustworthy. This is why one will only sometimes choose men but always choose a bear

    One of my favorite Greek myths is that of the story of Procne and Philomela.
    Procne marries a cruel Thracian King and gives birth to his equally vile son. The King kidnaps Procne's sister, Philomela, ravishes her, and has her tongue cut out. But Philomela finds a way to communicate with her sister, and once Procne learns of her husband's evil deeds, both Sisters get their revenge by killing the King's son, cooking him into a stew, and fed him to the King (ritually denying him an heir).
    The Gods took pity on the sisters and changed them into birds.

    Men Fight and Women Kill. This is one of the few lessons that my father taught me and one of the few that I actually listened to even though he is a deadbeat because he didn't have to say more than that for me to understand that if I ever find myself in a position where my life is threatened that I'm not supposed to stop, not until I'm the only person left breathing.
    My mother didn't teach me this. My father did
    It wasn't the woman who taught her daughter. It was the father who knew what kind of world his daughter lived in.
