You're welcome Debra! I thought this would be a useful follow up video to my last one about the Refine Edge tool.

Thank you. I didn't realise that you could do so much with Layer Masks. I'll need to go through this a few times and check out you Coach Program.

Hey. As a beginner I wonder how you save all the layers you have made to one picture.

Photoshop Elements automatically saves in the psd file format which saves all layers. You can print directly from the psd file. If you need the file as a jpg or png then just do a Save As. I usually do 2 saves, one as the psd so that I have all the layers, and then a Save As to png for use on the web.

I am a member of your channel but cannot find the pictures you use in your projects in order to download them and follow along.

Hi Gail, you will find the course materials by logging into the Photo Coach and clicking on Project Guides in the right side menu, or scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see the Project Guides section. In older videos the links are in the video description, same thing for older PSE videos on my other channel, the links are in the description. I have taken down the PSE support for the other channel, so if you happen to see a video over there with a missing link just let me know and I will add it to the description. The project files for this video will be going up shortly.

Would you please start at the absolute beginning and go slowly. This is too complicated and fast to follow.

Hi Barbara, this isn't a how to video, it is an overview to show all the things layer masks can do. What you should do is to watch some of my project videos that use layer masks where I do take the time to create the masks. Any video where I am changing the background will be using a layer mask.
