    I was going through some pictures yesterday and found a wonderful shot of my wife but her eyes were looking down. I found a second photo of her with a great smile on the face. So I started going over my game plan and happened back to this video!!!! Oh what a life saver!!!! You never know when you need a resource. Thanks for bailing me out again George!!!

      Great Idea Rich! I didn't think of this as an expansion of the change eyes technique, but you are correct in that it will work great for that also.

    This is the best tutorial, especially when photographing large families with small children.

    in general it would help me if your cursor was a very contrasting color. I do enjoy and learn from all your elements and affinity videos. Thanks.

      Hi Lawrence, I have tried other colors for the cursor, and highlights around the cursor, and animations when it is clicked, and all that sort of stuff. But all if it looks amateurish, so I am sticking with the default cursor.

    George, I can never find the layer via copy drop down, I see it is under "New" ! Lets see if I can remember that now...LOL! Also I notice these things work best if you can find pictures that have similar resolution and sharpness. If not, there are a lot more steps to go through. Nice job as usual, these small reminders do help, I have used many of them in the last few weeks.
    Thank you for all you do!

      You're welcome Rich! I agree, the closer the images match the better the results. If you can't get matching images then making something smaller to fit is the next best option. On the layer, it is in the Layer menu/New/Layer via Copy. You will need an active selection for that to work.

    Fascinating. Doubt very much if I would need to do something like this, but I find the techniques really interesting. You certainly need to be a bit of an artist on this one!

      Thanks Peter, and that is why I tend to stay away from projects like this. I like to keep things as easily reproducible as possible. But, had a question about this, so...

    I do this sort of stuff frequently. Last Sunday, I did a face swap with my grandson and his girlfriend. I swapped her face with that of Cinderella. I swapped my grandson's face with that of a coach footman.

    From where/how did you pull down the guide lines to line up the eyes and mouth?. Thanks very much. An excellent video, but I always wish you would proceed a little more slowly and explain the basics in more detail.
    Thanks so much.

      Hi Michael, first a little plug for my training, the best way to learn how to use Photoshop Elements is with my training course, there is a link for that in the description. If you go through that training you will know all about using the PSE program. To get the most out of my UA-cam videos you should get my training course. Now to answer your specific question, go up to the View menu and click on Rulers. Then you just drag a guideline down from the top ruler or over from the left ruler. At the bottom of the View menu you can clear out the guidelines once you are done with them.

      How To Gurus Thanks for your response. , In regard to the “plug, “I subscribed to your 2018 course on Photoshop elements. I didn’t see anywhere any kind of offer for previous subscribers to upgrade to the 2020 version. Is there such an arrangement? I don’t think that Photoshop elements has changed that significantly since 2018 and you already have issued videos about the differences between 2018 and 2019 and 2020. So thank you for that.best regards, Michael Sirota

      Hi Michael, PSE hasn't changed that much between 2018 and 2020 so no need for new training. Here are my videos on the new features:

    Hi George, great videos. Simple question: I noticed when you select the Fit Screen option (4:44), it really fills the workspace. When I do it, it's not filling the screen. It has a wider border around my images. Is there a setting or preference I'm not setting right? Using Elements 2020. Thanks.

    • @HTGGeorge
      @HTGGeorge  4 роки тому

      Hi Dino, no idea why yours is not fitting the screen. The fit screen button is supposed to set the image as large as it can go inside the workspace, that is usually top to bottom. There will be a small gap around it but not a large gap. I am using Windows and if you are using Mac it could look different, I don't know. There aren't any settings to adjust that.

    I really appreciate that you're showing how much can be done with Elements, as opposed to the full blown rental product. A couple constructive criticisms. Several times you reference details while zoomed to full image. Would be nice to be zoomed in more. At the same time, it is hard to see where your cursor is pointing, especially at full image zoom. When you say "right here", it's hard to know where you mean. Can you implement one of those coloured tracking cursors so we can follow where you are pointing? But those are nit picks on an excellent video!

    • @HTGGeorge
      @HTGGeorge  4 роки тому

      Thanks Jack! And thanks for the constructive comments. I have looked at using a colored circle around the cursor but it looks just too amateurish. Usually my cursor is pretty easy to see but I admit on the fur it can be lost. I try to keep away from zooming into the video as I like keeping the screen looking exactly how you would see it on your computer. But I will look to see if there are any other ways to make the cursor more visible at important moments in the video without making the video look like something a 9th grader would have created. Since my videos are the most watched Photoshop Elements videos on UA-cam I think my basic style works rather well, really don't want to mess with a proven system too much.

    I have Elements 2020 on my MacBook pro and try some of these moves using the mousepad. It doesn't seem as accurate, especially on those parts in your videos where you use the select brushes. I heard you mention the arrow cursor keys. Are these effective?

    • @HTGGeorge
      @HTGGeorge  4 роки тому

      Hi Jim, I use a mouse and mousepad in all of my videos. The mouse is a Harpoon RGB Wireless gaming mouse and I use a hard surface mouse pad with a wrist rest. The most important part of that whole thing is the wrist rest so I am only moving the mouse with my fingers instead of my wrist/arm. The cursor keys are great for nudging some things around but it can't replace a mouse.
