I have never heard of prickly pears. Ok I’ve seen them but had not idea that part on too was edible. And I would love love love shopping at the nursery and the feed store. I have always loved shopping in places like that. You can find items in those stores that you just don’t see anywhere else that I routinely shop. Thanks Amy, for sharing your videos. I just adore them. I love that you showed us the inside of those pears. They do remind me of a fig only prettier. Wow! Wolves! That is so scary to me bc I am scared of a wolf! Bc they just kinda stand their ground and look at you. At least on tv they do! I saw a panther in our backyard one late evening. At the very edge of the woods. At a place where I threw out table scraps. It had a long tail and was dark colored, black I’m pretty sure. I called A friend who was a wildlife agent lived across the street and told him about it and he told me sure it could have been. He told me that the male panther would travel miles and miles during mating season and had been seen by others in our area which was 15 miles outside of town in the country. I never saw it again.
I just love you…yes I do! I cracked up when you said, “We’re going to have to put the dogs on leashes like ‘SUB-DIVISION DOGS’. Never heard them called that before. We live in the suburbs so I guess our dog, Bella Rose, is a “sub-division” dog. We’re going to start calling her “Subbie!” 😂😂😂 Love your videos and stories, Amy. And.. so sorry about your fur baby we have a lot of coyotes where I grew up here in West Virginia and it's never a good outcome when they get close to the animals 😒 so glad your Benny yelled for his Mama to help him .. hes really lucky to be ok❤ he's probably loving the extra attention and treats I'm sure too

We love in the country. When our 11 year old dog was a pup, we never let her outside without us. She's a Blue Heeler and now won't go outside without her pack. (us). Had a friend's small dog picked up by a large hawk and carried off right before their eyes before they could get to him. Coyotes and wild dogs have gotten to several of our goats. The good and not so good about wilderness living. Glad your furbaby will be okay.♥️
Goodness gracious. I cannot imagine seeing a hawk take my dog away. How horrible. Nature is cruel like that. Love how your blue heeler needs her pack 😅 My grand dog lives out here too. She won’t go outside after dark at all. She waits til the morning. I think she has seen some scary stuff in the dark. 😅

Amy I live in a little town here in central Ont and the coyotes come right into our yards and night and sometimes just at dusk and steal away any little dogs and of course here it’s illegal to shoot guns off in town so the fur babies get taken. Glad yours is alright. It’s turning fall here the leaves are turning colour maple trees are so pretty in the fall. I found the best and quickest way to clean those things is to put 3-4 in a a wire colander and twirl them under the water and it knocks the prickles off of them and also cleans them works great and it's much faster.

Oh my Amy-Girl! ☀️ Please be ever so cautious when you go outside alone. Poor Bennie! Did you take him to the vet? Can’t the Game Control catch the wolves and take them somewhere else? Just thinking about how you could have been hurt makes me sick at my stomach. You might could take a metal spoon and a pot and make a lot of noise when you take your babies outside. It is almost 2 am. RA has been acting up. Would love to be able to sleep like normal people do. Your drink looks awesome. My potassium runs low and I have to work at keeping it up. Found these great drinks called Body Armor Lyte. Comes in several flavors. I’ve been drinking them instead of eating a banana a day. The Blueberry Pomegranate is a favorite as well as Blackout Berry. I found the best and quickest way to clean those things is to put 3-4 in a a wire colander and twirl them under the water and it knocks the prickles off of them and also cleans them works great and it's much faster.

Amy I didn't know you can make jelly out of the prickly pears. I have got some of those catus in my yard now with those on them. Think I'm going to cut them tomorrow. Love your stories. Just found you. i am from Louisiana as well. My question is did you waterbath your jelly after you jarred it? I see others do and I am afraid to waterbath it will keep jelly from jelling.

We've had a, coyote hunter here on our property for a few months now. He has harvested 5 coyotes. Hopefully that helps.
